I have a hard time... uhhh, expressing my troubles to anyone. It's easier here, I'll admit, but that's always been a part of who I am. And it's not like I wanted to do this a while ago but couldn't; it took until now for me to realize I needed to let go of everything I took on for the sake of my RL. I seriously thought I could be Superman and do it all, but that just wasn't gonna work this time.
((I listened to both; the Bagpipes are a nice touch. You got Scott or Irish in you? I got both. I am NOT a good drunk, >>))

None of us are supermen, at least in real life. We all make mistakes, you know have realized yours. We truly appreciate you coming to us and telling us this, rather than us waking up one day and you are simply missing.
Prioritize and take care of your real life. We wish not to ever cause ruin by forcing you to neglect your studies and relationships. You have done your work, done it quite well, and we shall take over from here.

I'm between a tenth and a third Irish, in blood terms. That has little to do with it, though. I just like the sound of most things with a Celtic or Operatic flare. It's far superior to the generic sounds and systems of most popular bands, as it can never be quite duplicated. It's individual, unique. The best part is, though, this band has a tendency to take Genres, and add their own celtic and personal flares to them. And it's AWESOME. That's why they're my favorite band. Check out more of their stuff if you have time, and you'll see it too. Their music is sometimes dark, sometimes sad, sometimes inspiring, sometimes joyful, and sometimes just something to jam to. I guarantee, if you get pissed, the right song or five from Enter the Haggis will get you smiling again. I would know, it's kept me from hitting the brink of violence many times.

Well Darius, all I can say is that I'm glad you finally came around to realise you were supposed to be having fun here the whole time. I mean seriously, we all have our plates full of things we don't want to do but we have to. Chores, school, work, and some of those things can be more agonizing than others. We only have a few things in our life that we do because we want to, because we enjoy it. As soon as you stop enjoying it, you might has well be making money out of it. But since that's not possible here, there's literally no point.
I'm also glad you're going to stick around. I mean personally all I do on gaia is collect gold, change my outfit every week, and be part of the GML. And as inactive as I've been at times, they have always welcomed me back with open arms, excited that I would be around for a while. Like Wielder says GML is our family. Wielder is one of the best damn people I've ever met in my life, and I've never met him. What we have here is unique, not that we have 300,000 posts or 50,000 members, we have authenticity and people who really care for one another.

Look, folk. If any of you need some time to sort out your affairs, you don't even have to ask.
And Sagi's right. It's not about quantity, it's about quality. And we're some pretty high-caliber people, I'm proud to say.
And that's because we all bring something different to the table. A quality about ourselves that brings out the best in others. For example, I've been bullied and picked on since 2nd grade. It's made me have to harden up around most people, and they never see the real me, which all my family and friends would say is just a kid with a heart of gold, who wants to smile, and who wants those around him to smile too. And they're right. That's all I want in life. If I could live like that... I'd be happy. Truly happy. So, I do my best to make it like that. I help my friends, and even my enemies, so that we can all just smile... honestly. That feeling where you can't help but smile... And it's times like these that I'm glad I have you guys, because it's times like these, where we're all just together, despite the distance between us, that let me feel like I'm doing well in that goal.
Man, I'm the leader of about 2 dozen people who really care about me and about each other. How can I not be happy? That's why I'll never let this guild die, because it's what I want. This guild, with these members, specifically, is what I want out of life.
That's what I bring to the table. I bring help for my friends, whenever they need it, and I love to do it. And in turn, They help me, and each other, and their friends, and family, total strangers, even their enemies. And we make the world a bit better of a place. That's just a bit of what one person can do. Imagine if we could hold an influence around the globe. That's my dream. I want to make people the world-over smile.
So, I'd like to ask you all to help me. Whenever you see someone feeling down, with no one to talk to, talk to them. Take some time out of your day, to make them smile. Or at least, give them a shoulder to cry on. A kind stranger's words are better than nothing at all.

Darius, remember that announcement I made after the Typo-wipe a while back? I posted that the purpose of Gaia was to have fun.
If you're not having fun, if Gaia turns into a chore or a job for you, then you're obviously doing something wrong.
I personally won't fault you for stepping down from command if that's what you need to do. That's entirely your decision. You're a good RPer, though, and it would be nice if you hung around. Besides, I need someone to argue with.
