I just had a thought, I've seen these threads in the chatter box that are trying to get to one million bumps, We could start one of our own, and make it "A million Bumps for the Annual Ball." Or something. A lot of people show interest in those kinds of threads, and it would get a ton of bumps. People may not learn per say what the annual ball is, but a lot more people would know it's name.
...That is me.
I like the idea (*coughmainlybecauseIdon'thaveafacebook,twitter,youtube,etc.soI'mtryingtofindsomethingIcandotohelpcough* ninja ). Once you start those up (which, trust me, takes effort) they really catch on and a bunch of people post in them. We could even just make it a chat thread rather than a bump thread for the annual ball.
There could be information about the ball on the first page and possibly a post reserved for questions from the other people of gaia that we answer. I'll even volunteer to make it if needed. Bringing this up again because I thought it was a good idea.
I love the idea for some mini-comics too. :3

KissMeHappy I think mini Contests should be up there as well. Like this year we had an avatar contest at the actual ball, well we can make mini Tek-Tek contests and Poetry contests and etc. We can give out small prices and get people interested in the bigger prizes and the fun of the actual real contests that'll be at the Ball.

Contests are more the rule of the fundraiser committee, after all contests do normally involve the use or collection of gold in someway. So I would say, if your going to do one of them, then you should probably get Kala's permission.
This is sort of one of the grey areas, much like the mini-events we do. Since they do the jobs of both committees, it's hard to know which committee should get them.

Okies. Kala and I are going to discuss this, we'll probably both take on different aspects of the mini-events and such.
I added the bump thread idea, thought it was already there.
By small-scale roleplays, we meant something like roleplays sponsored by the Annual Ball.
Blog is a great idea. Added it. Go Crys. XD
I need nicknames for the other peoples...and what you'd like to be called.

I want to be called pickachu.
Uhh, I think would like to be called The Pawn :3
Although they may be the weakest piece on the chessboard,
they are one of the most important pieces. ;o
But if you ever want to just address me in a normal situation,
call me Harmy, Harma, orrrrrr Charlotte. c:
Hmm, I am really interested in the small scale roleplays!
I think that would be a really neat project.
But I'm still a bit confused.
Do we just create roleplays and tell the rpers that it was sponsored by the ball?
If that is so, I think it's a very straightforward and brilliant idea. 8D
Oh, speaking of blogs, could it be possible for Gaia to advertise the User Run Ball on their blog? I'm not sure if that's possible, but it's a thought... xD;;

I was using min-events as an example, small-scale roleplays are a different story altogether after all. Sorry if I over-stepped anything, I was just saying that the idea of who can do contests is a little complex.

O.O! Hey! Speaking of small-scale RolePlays. I have a little thingy in the works right now. Sometime soon I hope, I'll be doing a murder mystery event/roleplay for fun. Although it doesn't really have anything to do with the ball, I just remembered it. >.>'

surprised I can link the donation thread for the ball on the first page of my rp too and post something quick about it. (though my rp's sadly hit a bit of a bump at the moment >< )
I'm also captain of another guild that's been going on for a while. I'll gladly post a link for the annual ball on the home page.
As for my nickname...can you call me B.O.B. (note the capital letters)????

Alright guys. I think we should start out running one project each, and discuss which ones we'd like to work together on.
-The internet radio station. I figured out the logistics. Who has ideas on how it should work? Basically we could set up mp3 files in a playlist and loop it. So any creative ideas or contests we could do?
-Armin gets first priority, then the team members.

Arminoire we could like....make an Advertising mule and like.....make a blog about the ball and have lyke a monthly "The Gaian Insider: Annual Ball" kinda thingy where we give all who's interested a peek at the stuff we do, and a buncha cool stuff.....and have a cool profile and everything!!!

Idk it kinda just blurted out to me, and I could make the acct and everything, it's bloggy and its fancy shamncy clothes and stuff...but we could all use it and stuff ;D
We could kinda give it a "personality" that would attract everyone, and ya know lyke...help lead everyone more towards the ball and stuff....but it in contests....like I see these "reality show things" all over gaia we could look into....
Idk. I think I need to ponder this one over a bit more, but does it sound do-able?
Anywho. Other ideas:
We should do some MAJOR affiliate/sponsor type thing, trade shop banners with popular mini shops, role playing guilds, zOMG clans, etc to really get the name out....try and be active with all our affies...do some social events during major holidays in the forums, towns, etc...we've done that kinda stuff before ryte?
NEXT! I know it sounds super corny, but I understand how businesses survive now: =o
We could get some advertising deals with other major events...during their events we could try and spread the word then and get ppl interested....and during the ball we could return the favor by giving ball guests recommendations and flittering out their banners and stuff....more so then we did in previous years....as long as they also spread the word about us in their shops, guilds, etc......
The mini-roleplay thing could also be like a Role-Play 101 type of thing where we could help teach ppl the dos and don'tsof roleplaying so our guests can be more comfortable about the ball and be more engaged with our plots ;D
That's all I have ryte now....it's been a longggg day...i think some of those ideas were poorly thought out D; If I'm repeating ideas forgive me >~<
EDIT: Speaking of mule accts, shouldn't someone update the annual ball profile soon? =o just a sayin'.
