Asmodeus' words rang true -- Nymphalidae could not think of anything that she possessed which she would not give to him. She knew that when he decided what he wanted from her to repay him for his gift, she would gladly give him whatever he asked. What did she have to lose when she had everything to gain? "No," she breathed, "no, there is nothing I would deny you." She couldn't deny it now; how could their meeting have been anything else but fate? Perhaps even the foals in her belly were but a path to him? After all, if she had not wandered away from Bane to take this time to think -- he would not have found her. Perhaps the great Kalona was smiling upon her for her great deeds? For surely they were great -- she had slain many in His land and conquered land, and if she was capable of that with Bane at her side, she could only wonder at what she could do with Asmodeus.
Their meeting had been short -- barely an exchange of words -- but each word was heavy with the promise of more to come for both of them, and putting her trust in Asmodeus was a chance Nymphalidae was willing to take. After all -- if he decided to never return or call upon her again, she would come to no harm. And if he did? Well, then -- everything would be going as planned.
"Thank you. Hródolf will serve me well as a guardian. It... seems so soon to leave you now..." she trailed off, wishing she could at least indulge in the pleasure of a hunt with Asmodeus before they parted ways.

Asmodeus' smile grew wider at the mare's eagerness to stay by his side, and he chuckled. His long tail caressed her cheek once more, and he all but crooned at the way the stupid mare easily melted into his touch. Oh, how delicious it will be to see the look of betrayal on her face when he took everything from her before taking her life. Her blood would be sweet on his tongue, and a worthy sacrifice to Kalona. "But we will see each other again soon," he promised, "and then, oh, my pet, you have no idea the strength that we will have, the power, and it will be all ours. And when you are ready..." he leaned in closer to her, barely inches away from her muzzle. "Our foals will be powerful, too. The blood of kalona will pump even stronger through their veins, and with each generation, it will continue to grow."
Standing this close to the mare only increased his desire to sink his fangs into her flesh, the temptation so strong he could almost taste it -- he would barely have to move, her throat was right there -- but he resisted, pulling away from her. That time would come and, oh, he would be ready. "Now go, return to your... demon. I shall call upon you when I have need of you, and then we can... be together." It almost made him cringe a little just to say those words, but they worked; Nymphalidae was eating them up.

Oh, their foals -- Nymphalidae did not relish the idea of becoming pregnant again, not when it was already such a burden with Bane's offspring, but it would only be for a short time -- and then? Then she would have what she wanted, foals with a purer bloodline than her own, foals she could raise to be proud, strong, relentless kalona. And with a sire as powerful as Asmodeus, they were sure to be great. She nodded, completely under his spell, her eyes half-shut in a daze as she inhaled deeply, taking in his scent, nudging her cheek against Asmodeus' tail before he pulled it away from her face. The movement was enough to snap her out of her daze, and her golden eyes focused on the kalona before her once more. Realizing how much she'd just swooned over the stallion, she straightened her posture and held her head high; she was not some lovesick filly. The bond she would share with Asmodeus would deeper than that -- much more profound, and much, much more powerful. "I look forward to that day, Asmodeus. Nothing will stand in my way when you call for me." She would leave a trail of gore behind her if she had to, and oh, she hoped that's what was needed. He would see her strength, see that he made the right choice -- that she was worthy.
Her gaze snapped from the stallion down to the smokey wolf who stood like a sentinel beside her, and she nodded. "Come, Hródolf. We will return to my demon now," she said, and Hródolf merely waited as she looked one more time at Asmodeus before she turned and made her way back through the thick of the woods to where she'd left Bane.Hródolf, too, gazed at his old master before he followed the fluttercorn obediently -- feeling, oddly, pulled toward her, as if by her side was where he'd always belonged, a feeling he'd never had with Asmodeus. For the most part, though, he tried to ignore this feeling; he was only following orders, and nothing more.

Asmodeus watched the mare leave, remaining where she had left him, and when he could no longer see the pink of her mane the sickly-sweet smile on his face twisted into something much uglier, lips pulled back into a sneer. "Malphas, come to me," he said, and waited patiently for his familiar to show himself, knowing that he had been nearby for the entirety of his meeting with the tainted fluttercorn. And indeed he had been; the bat had made himself comfortable in the trees above, hidden from prying eyes as he observed his master converse with the mare, watching as Hródolf was commanded to leave with her. At Asmodeus' command, he spread his leathery wings and flew down to the ground, settling himself on a nearby rock to look up at the large kalona. He was eager to hear his master's plans for the mare, because surely he would never truly wish for her to have his foals.Asmodeus watched as Malphas flew down from the trees, and there was that smile back on his face again, but this time it was devious and sinister. "You will serve as a contact between Hródolf and myself, Malphas. Make sure not to lose track of her; the foals she carries in her belly could prove to be... valuable, and if not that, then they will be filling, I'm sure. I expect status updates frequently at your discretion, but do not keep me waiting for too long." With anyone else, he would have warned them not to let themselves been seen tracking the mare, but Malphas was his most trusted and has been at his side the longest -- he knew he wouldn't do something so foolish and amateur.Malphas gave Asmodeus a toothy grin, practically bouncing on his small feet as he listened to his plan, and he nodded excitedly when he gave her him instructions. "Oh, you don't have to worry about nothin', stupid mare and her mate won't even know I'm there," he said, and at Asmodeus' pleased nod he spread her wings and took off to the skies.
