Mirsajadi did scowl now, but it wasn't a heartfelt expression. It was the sort of put-upon scowl of a young lion who has been groomed to within an inch of baldness, or who has been reminded for the nth time to sit up straight. In other words, he knew what he was being told was for his own good, but he had to put on a show so that everyone would know what a colossal imposition it was on him.
"I'm fine!" he said, rolling his eyes to add emphasis and to make sure Chacha knew she was being silly.
"Look. I'll pounce right over your head," he said, backing up.
Then he backed up a little farther, and farther still. He'd need a long run to jump that high. By the time he judged that he was far enough away to make the jump, Mirsajadi's stripes probably hid his frown. He might not be able to live up to his boast, and that would be humiliating. His father never said he could do things he couldn't do.
He trotted closer so that he wouldn't have to shout to talk to Chacha. "I don't want to scare you. So I'll just pounce from right here. But only once!"
The striped cub gathered his legs beneath his body and exploded into the air, managing all the height he might have needed to go over Chacha, but almost no distance. It was a good thing he hadn't tried to jump over her after all. When he came down the impact made his legs tingle painfully, but he manfully refrained from wincing.
"See. I'm fine. But now I really have to go, or I'll be in trouble." He'd noticed that his siblings were all moving in the general direction of home, and if he didn't return with them, there really would be trouble.

Satisfied with Mirsajadi's prime example of cub agility, Kichaa nodded her head to the little Pesar as he told her that he really needed to go. She noticed the rest of the cubs, which she presumed were his siblings, heading back to one of the dens and didn't wish for him to get in trouble like she had on occasion.
"Okay, Mirsajadi! You go home so Chacha doesn't get you in trouble for keeping you. Cubs shouldn't be punished for anything," Kichaa stressed, getting up from where she was to head back to her own den, if only to see if her mother's Pad was currently in. If he was, she would not go back till nightfall, if he wasn't she would spend her time there.
"Chacha liked playing with you Mirsajadi! Bye-bye!" The crimson Banu exclaimed with a smile, going to turn and leave as he would undoubtedly do as well. Kichaa ended up having a fun day after all.

Now it sounded like Chacha was bossing him. Banus shouldn't boss pesars. That wasn't how the world worked. But Mirsajadi let it go, being otherwise distracted by his siblings' departure.
He disagreed that cubs shouldn't be punished for anything. Sometimes people were bad and deserved to be punished, and when they were it was harder on the person doing the punishing than it was on the person being punished. Cubs had to learn to be strong, anyway, and being punished was part of that. Not that he went out of his way to earn punishments to become tougher. That would just be stupid.
"Bye!" he called over his shoulder as he hot-footed it to join his siblings. He wondered what had prompted them all to leave like that. He'd thought they would stay longer. Well, he wanted to go home anyway. Being landed on had hurt more than he'd been willing to let on, and he wanted to curl up and sleep until he felt less squished.
