The tone he responded with gave her the same impression of him that he now had of her, he just didn't seem very bright- but perhaps she was doing a good job being meaner than she ought to be without it being obvious enough to get her into trouble. She couldn't immediately decide which was the preferable cause of his tone.

"That is very ambitious," she noted, though wondering how many banu he might ultimately have to protect.. and how other pads might feel about it.. but it was hard to say what the pads all thought about each other- and what they all did together. She'd never really seen much of what anybody but the other banu did.

"Ambitious?" Amjad questioned, not recognizing the word, but quickly dismissing this fact as he felt whatever it meant had to mean some sort of compliment. Banu were supposed to be sweet girls, and sweet girls would never be mean to him intentionally. It was funny just how wrong he was about that little assumption.

"Ambitious or not, it's my responsibility as a member of the pride," Amjad said proudly, repeating the words his father once told to him. "I have a duty to protect my pride! And if I don't do everything I can for it, than I don't deserve to be in it."

"But uhm, anyway," He muttered, giving her a grin and scooting closer to her, pawing at her playfully, obviously trying to coax Nasrin into some cub related games, "Do you wanna play?"

Nasrin grinned when he questioned her word choice, feeling pleased with herself for demonstrating her intelligence.. even if she couldn't say anything more. She wasn't going to cause trouble intentionally and she wasn't about to admit- even privately- that his point was admirable and the only funny part was how determined he was to help while he was so small. It was more fun thinking he was a little weird.

She leaned back a bit when he tried to get her to play and then glanced back around her-- and realized very suddenly that her sister had abandoned her. She wasn't going to get out of this easily.

"What did you have in mind?"

"Let's wrestle!" Amjad growled playfully, raising his hackles a bit, and without any consent from Nasrin, went to pounce her and bring her to the ground. He may have been quite an admirable and determined little cub, but he was still a cub and therefore his ideas of what was acceptable play and Nasrin's ideas of what were acceptable play were amazingly different, especially considering that on occasion his father encourage the girls and the boys to duke out their differences.

"Grrrrr. I'm gonna win!" Amjad declared, attempting to n** at Nasrin's ear during the chaos of it all.

Nasrin did have a very different idea of acceptable play. In such a large family, it was hard to avoid being bumped and pushed around in general.. and of course there was the occasional unprovoked play-fight. She mostly avoided it where she could, not thinking it worthwhile to bother with. How she handled it when she couldn't avoid it depended on who it was and who was watching them.

But she didn't have time to evaluate the situation now. Caught off guard, she was knocked over despite having a slight size advantage due to age and squealed indignantly. And then she kicked out, harder than perhaps one might if they were really playing along, in an effort to free herself.

Amjad swiftly felt the wind get kicked out of him by the larger juvenile Banu and fell off her, crumpling up on the floor. Why did she just kick him so hard?! He wasn't being that rough with her! Why was she being so mean?! He thought they were getting along...

It didn't take long for a loud, cubby cry to escape the little Pesar's lips as tears began to flow out of his eyes as he laid there. The pain felt almost unbearable for him, but one had to take into account he was nothing more than a little cub and excessive roughness of any kind brought on storms of little tears in everyone.

He looked up at Nasrin, his tears flowing from his eyes and snapped at her in pain, "YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE SO MEAN! WE WERE JUST PLAYING!"

Nasrin's mind was racing as she realized what just happened and how Amjad was reacting to it. Stunned, she lay still on her side staring at him. She hadn't really wanted to make him cry and still, before she could stop herself, she was yelling back.

"You surprised me! You don't have to be so pushy!"

As soon as she said it, she knew she was in trouble. She shouldn't be arguing with (or pushing!) anybody, let alone a pad (or pesar)- even if he was small and .. enthusiastic. She scrambled up to her feet, her eyes wide but no longer on Amjad- they were looking around the supervising parents, looking for her father.

"You should have been watching!" Amjad said accusingly, crying all the while. He wanted his mother right now. Only she would be capable of curing his pain and unhappiness with her cuddles and kisses.

"Mommy!" He yelled, looking around for which way his father's den happened to be, lost in his own confusion and unhappiness.

This girl was a mean girl, and he did not want to play with her anymore. She didn't play-fight like his sisters and brothers did. She hit for real, and it hurt more than anything else he had experienced in all of the world, granted there wasn't much he had experienced anyway.

"You're mean!" He bawled, turning away from her and stumbling towards his den, "I'm going home!"
