A surge of familiar pain coursed through Remy’s body as the bare skin on her hands collided in a quick manner with that of Rogue’s wrist. In an instant Gambit’s body was drained of her most basic powers and memories, she could see flashes of everything as Rogue’s proverbial touch took bit by bit the things that made Remy…Her body in this moment took on a drowsy humor, so much so that when Rogues pulled free of Gambit’s grasp she stumbled backwards and was kept up by only her most primal reactions. With that Remy shook her head as if to break free from an invisible bind, there was no doubt left in her mind, this could be no dream…she could never have dreamed up something that recognizable in such a foreign incarnation. This new information descended onto her at the same instant that her sight returned, a touch from Rogue, either of them, always left her unnerved.
Rogue, that seemed to now be an ever present care in her mind, she hadn’t seen him in so long…she could remember it all so clearly, his voice, his smile…his touch. This odd occurrence had only reopened all the memories and wounds that she had associated with him…but it wasn’t his fault, she had been the one to leave, to run. Her face turned into a pained grimace as she thought of what she had done, how could she?
Bringing herself back to the present situation Gambit acknowledged Rogue’s words with a slight nod of the head, she said she knew her, and that she did.
“Oui,” Remy agreed, “ya do my petite, I fear ah hint to well.”
With her now returning energy she moved herself forward keeping up with Rogue as she made her way towards the large building, Gambit was still unsure of its purpose, though it felt oddly familiar…as did everything in this new world. Onward she marched, how cliché, hoping whatever lay beyond would hold no threat, she was no longer in a position to fight…though she was still in one to win, but at what cost?
The two were soon inside the mansion and arriving in what appeared to be the galley of the place, she was being offered something to drink, would that help.
“Wouldn’t mind some water, chere.”
Her next question would require some deeper delving into Remy’s day, at this point she herself wasn’t even clear on things anymore. She knew she had come here, this world, for a reason…she just couldn’t recall it…
“Honest mon ami, I don’ know why I’m here, not anymore… I knew before, seems I did a’bit ah forgetin’ on my way here, par qui?”
She shut her eyes tight again in a last attempt to bring forth her memory of before…before what, she remembered her world, she remembered everything…just not the why. It seemed the longer she was here the more that slipped away from her, what would go next. Hers eyes came back open to reveal a look of frustration painted on her face, her hand, shoved back in her pocket, gripped tightly to a lone card, she needed its luck…she needed her luck.
“Frustratin’,” Gambit dropped the topic, it was hurting her head, “so ya know me, oui?”
