If anyone thought Chuppi was late to class, they were sadly mistaken; the Chupacabra had been there all along, silent and watching everyone from where she sat. The tables weren't really meant for someone small like her but thankfully she didn't take up a single table like G did (she was happy to see G). Originally Chuppi had thought about passing on this class, not really needing the chance to learn to operate a shadow, seeing as Chupacabras didn't need that at all, but something about learning from a person who was nearly her height was hard to pass up. Plus people said all kinds of weird things about the Headmistress; Chuppi was a little curious to see if they were true. She'd brought her Thermos with her just in case they were actually true and she'd need comfort, but maybe the class would keep her on her toes enough that she couldn't even think about stuff.
Chuppi did want to stay busy after all and soon the girl she knew as Emily started passing candies around, the small teacher who was a lot scarier than Chuppi thought telling them to eat them and practice with their shadows. It was important, the teacher basically was saying, and so the Chupacabra would be doing her best! Sometimes a monster had to do what a monster had to do!

Shehk had apparently noticed that someone was paying attention to her (two someones, actually), ears perking ever so slightly as she looked to Jack, her tail slightly lifting at the very tip as though given some strange..small.. bit of confidence. One glance from Hellma would have utterly destroyed that, however.
'Yeah I think so...' she seemed to answer, though another glance at Hellma made her sit up just a bit straighter before she finally got up out of her chair to go after her shadow.... her shadow...wait, how did she know which one was hers? It was sort of a strange sensation, like she just.. knew. Then again, there weren't very many canine-shadows to be had around there (as without her form to tie to, the shadow had gone back to what it found more 'natural').. or, something canine-esque about it.
Not really looking like a wolf, but seeming like it was going 'BARKBARKBARK' when another shadow touched it. Who's was tha-... .... ......
the look on Shehk's face was something akin to horrified.
Why was Sin having her shadow hug hers??????
She would have kicked Nukpana in the knee if his had tri-
... .....
And on the note of 'BARKBARKBARK', it seemed that Shehk's shadow had found Jack's and was currently, like any good canine, seeing it it would play. Or let itself get chased. OH JOY.
"s-Stop that!" she frowned at it, but the shadow, seeming like it was having too much fun, just looked at her, wagged it's tail, and then went back to catharassment.

Sin was mortified, she wanted to die on the spot when Shehk looked down and noticed her shadow being enthusiastically hugged by Sin's. Sin offered Shehk a weak smile, she was probably the Fearleading Captains least favorite person in the whole school after the way they had butted heads during tryouts. Sin had originally hoped to become Shehk's friend, get some exposure to the non-demon crowd. She could feel her cheeks starting to heat and then mercifully her shadow started to let go of Shehks...but not until it had given a sort of cheek to cheek 'kiss'. Sin quickly turned around and gripped the edges of her desk, oh god this was horrible.
Then out of the corner of her eye she saw her shadow slide towards Alcyone's. Now what was it doing? She frowned and watched as it tried to shake hands with Alcyone's shadow. Was her shadow trying to make friends? She tensed and then looked at Alcyone with a sheepish smile. "Er...sorry about that..." She offered her own hand.
"I'm Sin Err, and I clearly haven't figure out how to control my shadow just yet..." She half laughed and watched with sudden apprehension as her shadow moved away and towards G's.
Then suddenly her shadow seemed to pull something from somewhere, the shadowy shape of an apple? It offered the shadow fruit to G's shadow and Sin watched stunned. Suddenly her stomach tensed into a fearful knot, oh god...it was like her shadow was expressing it's own version of her desires, to make friends and...and...UGH! It was going to humiliate her! Why was it being friendly? Shouldn't it be scaring someone? She spotted Morrigan and noticed her friend looked equally unhappy with her own shadows behavior.
This had to stop, Sin quickly tried to focus, closing her eyes and trying to sense a way to draw her shadow back to her.

Rain frowned. She did not like Hellma Shox. It had taken her so long to get the smell of feces out of her hair and clothes after detention. She had cleaned more than she had ever cleaned before too, all for what? To lose consciousness in the end. Though, on the other hand, it did allow for her to meet some students and the battle was fun even if the bleach burned her eyes a little. Still, it was the headmistress that had put them in detention in the first place. All for posting on a board, looking for romance. She was full of anger and insults. She must truly be a miserable monster! She wouldn't mind taking a bite of Hellma Shox's brains. Of course, the older monster's hair would probably bite her first and if she managed to succeed, the brains would probably taste as foul as the monster's mood. She was a little sad to see that G was too big for the normal sized chairs so ended up taking an entire two person table to himself. It would have been nice to sit with him. She settled for the next best thing and sat at a table directly behind him. This made it impossible for her to see most of the class and more importantly, the teacher. Did that mean that Miss Shox would also have trouble seeing her? Maybe it was the best seat in the classroom. G was like a protective shield. A big green protective shield. Emily was passing out the candy. She never spoke to the reaper but she knew of her well enough. In fact, she would have to keep her boobs away from the other ghoul, that's for sure. Emily had a talent for ripping off clothes when you least expect it, something she had witnessed firsthand. Rain grabbed three pieces of candy and quickly opened one to pop in her mouth. She didn't like candy much, unless it happened to be gummi bats and this was no exception. For some reason, it reminded her of fresh laundry. Boring, bland and bleh. She didn't feel much from the candy and she figured it was because of her race. Her shadow reacted quickly though and once free, darted up the nearest wall and to the ceiling! Rain found herself growing jealous of her own shadow. She wanted to be up there too! What a wonderful trick! What would happen if she ate the other two pieces of candy as well? No.. no, she better not. The headmistress would probably grow angry and make her clean another bathroom. She quietly watched her shadow dart about. It seemed the other shadows were interacting together and her own was up there all alone. Was it a reflection of herself? No, of course not. Her shadow actually looked happy, moving about quickly. It was hard to keep track of it. She wondered if it enjoyed being free. "SAVE YOURSELF, SHADOW RAIN!" she blurted out, cheering her shadow on. She waited for it to make its escape. It seemed to ignore her. ((Doubt you need this a second time, but just in case: Minipet Profile))

Morrigan's shadow seemed to slither from one shadow to the next, changing shapes as it went along. It seemed to give one shadow devil horns, another big boobs (was that Emily's?). Another received what she could only guess was a boot shape near the rear end. When it neared Shehk and Jack's shadow, it turned into the form of a net of sorts, as if planning to catch them. It finally donned on her. Her shadow was pranking the others!
She was finally able to relax and enjoy her own shadow like the others seemed to. Well, some of them. Sin looked pretty uncomfortable. It wasn't like they had control of their shadows though so they weren't responsible for what they did, right? And she definitely preferred her shadow pranking others over it tormenting mimic and herself.
The shadow paused as if thinking where to go next and Morrigan gasped in horror as it headed toward the headmistress. It moved behind her and mimicked her shape. As if that wasn't bad enough, it added a princess crown and fairy wings to its shadow portrayal of the headmistress!
Oh no! Morri slumped into her seat and half onto the floor. This was terrible! Why did it have to go and do that? Daring a peek, she was thankful to see that the shadow had already moved away from Miss Shox and towards the other shadows. She slowly climbed back up into her seat and composed herself. She was several shades paler but it could have been worse right? She hoped the Headmistress did not notice. Why did her shadow have to be so mischievous?

Once more, Julian was as far from the teacher as possible. Especially since it was the headmistress. She was terrifying. He watched with his head low on his desk as she called the Reaper up to the front of the class. He couldn't hide his flinch when Professor Shox barked at them, his feathers quivering in fear.
And yet despite all of that, he wasn't afraid of detaching his shadow. He was just terrified of Professor Shox.
So when Emily came around, handing out the candies that would set his shadow free, so to speak, he reached one hand out and took the offered candies, looking them over for a moment. They really didn't look any special at all, except for maybe the wrapper. He jotted down a note that he shouldn't use them too often, just to make sure. That seemed like something he would forget if he didn't. That done, he unwrapped the first one and popped it into his mouth.
It set a tingling all over him and the next thing he knew, his shadow was creeping away from him. He frowned sternly at it and it paused for a moment, as if considering stopping and doing what he said. Whether it was sincere or just screwing with him, it wasn't more than a moment before it shot over to the wall to make faces at him. He stood up and walked over to Tahki's side, crossing his arms.
"N-not c-cool..." His shadow just proceeded to nudge the gryphon's and looked as if it laughed for a moment before going back to making faces and rude gestures and other annoying things.
Retrospectively, the shadow had probably just been screwing with him...

This was a class that Mai had been somewhat excited for. The ghost certainly knew there was merit in all of the classes she was taking, but this one in particular seemed to appeal to her in ways that she couldn't quite explain. Shadowcraft was just soooo... sexy. And now she found herself sitting in the fearsome little room with the fearsome little headmistress... trying not to stare holes in the backs of the warm-blooded students from her seat at the rear of the room. Her ghostlight companion hovered to one side of her, casting muted flickers of blue across her desktop. There were actually three of the little hitodamas floating passively around her today. The two extras had followed her into class from the hallway, as sometimes happened.
Mai's gaze was torn forcibly from its wandering as the frightening troll of a woman-thing began speaking shrieking to the class. She tried to listen carefully, but couldn't help her face from screwing up into a grimace at each sudden and piercing rise in the headmistress's voice. She was beginning to wonder if this had all been a terrible idea, when... Jack-be-damned, did that reaper's shadow just detach itself?
Well, things got interesting pretty quickly after that.
When it was her turn to take her candies, Mai did so with wide and curious eyes. She pulled three of the unassuming treaties out of the proffered pumpkin and eyed them speculatively. The ghost wasn't really in the habit of eating 'magic' candies just because they were offered to her.. Still.. the effect that these small things were having on the rest of the classroom was obvious. Already there were a number of liberated shadowforms scurrying about and causing a silent ruckus.
Now to see what her own shadow would do, she thought with growing curiosity. Slowly, as she always did things, Mai tucked the two extra treats in her obi and carefully unwrapped the remaining one. She paused for a second to examine the shiny orb she held between two fingers. Seemed.. normal enough to her, so she gave the tiniest of shrugs and slipped it into her mouth.
The spirit flame near her seemed to shudder violently as soon as she had the candy past her lips. It roiled in agitation as it began to dart around her desk. The two other visiting hitodama vanished altogether. And..
Oh. Oooh.. She felt strange. If it were possible for the ghost to feel even more than weightless, she did then. Her shadow, which had already been dancing from side to side in reaction to the circling spirit flame, seemed to fly into a frenzy. Tendrils of inky blackness whipped out in oddly jagged curls and whorls. It writhed violently for several seconds before it seemed to collect itself. Almost tentatively, Mai's shadow pulled itself off of her. It did nothing at first, and in fact simply pooled into a dark and foreboding sphere-ish shape on the floor.
Hm.
Somehow, Mai found it's lack of activity... disturbing.

One of Israfel's older sisters had told him of Hellma Shox. She told him of the princess corner, mini edition. She told him of shadow magic and how he "BETTER TAKE THAT CLASS, JACK HELP YOU IF YOU DO NOT". Sirens didn't typically go directly into human contact, and, they also were not silent fliers or very sneaky beings. Shadow magic was one way that they could go unseen at night to and from the Bermuda portal for hunts. So by his sister's advice, Israfel attended the class. So far, he felt his earwings fall back flat, his back wings bend to hide in hair, and his entire frame so stone cold frozen. Israfel didn't like being yelled at. It was like karaoke night on the island all over again. Then slowly, he was relaxing. Eyes darting to the shadows that nor moved about, free of their three dementional counterparts. As the bowl was passed to him he took his candy, unwrapped and swallowed. It felt like his nest mates from back home had thrown him into the ice cold sea water. Feathers poofed out from the initial cold sensation then relaxed. He felt- different. It was unlike anything he ever knew before. Looking down, he noticed why. His shadow was missing. Eyes scanned around, until he found his counterpart, perched above near the ceiling, doing it's best to avoid the animal like shadows in the room. Israfel worried if shadows couldn't eat other shadows. After all, he had no idea what problems that might bring up. It worried him, especially when he noticed a cat and dog like shadow. And the shadow of G. Israfel lifted his hand, fearing for his shadow's safety. ((Profile: Vamps))

Samantha had been sitting just off to the side of the room. She was possibly the farthest thing from magic she could think of. She was even baffled that she could fill her left hand with fear let alone make it useful. So how in the world would she pass a class about shadowplay? She tried her best to get her mind off it, drumming her boned fingers against the desk waiting for something to happen when the headmistress finally arrived.
Let it be known, Samantha was unaware till this point that such a small body could hold such a horrifying and noisy voice. Her fingers soon stopped drumming and rather began to scratch at the desk with each snap of the teacher, like others probably did she almost jumped out of her chair as the spit ate away at the floor. Worst class to start the day with? Definitely.
Soon enough class was fully underway, the poor girl upfront was being used as an example, her shadow soon off on it's own marry way with other students joining in. Her own candy in hand she slowly unwrapped one piece inspecting it before tossing it back waiting to see what would happen.
At first it was slow, just a tingle that inched its way up her fingers, but suddenly her whole body was cold and numb, and not the normal 'you're a zombie' kind of cold that actually made her feel wrong! Shifting about she checked behind her seat, no shadow, she turned around, still no shadow, just as she got up to say something she found herself face to face with her own shadow letting out a yelp before falling over her chair.
"J-Jah! Dammit! Don't scare ME!"
Obviously the shadow didn't care what it's 'owner' had to say as it was already turned about walking across the room. Inspecting each person it past before eventually taking a seat on the edge of podium kicking her feet absently as if waiting for... something?
"You could at least be interesting or something... instead all you do is sit around looking bored."((profile!))

Alcyone stared wide eyed as she watched all of the different shadows interact and she had no idea what she was supposed to be doing to control it. Looking up, she noticed that Sin's shadow was holding out its hand towards hers? Her shadow returned the greeting with a hearty handshake and then her shadow disappeared somewhere. The real Alcie shook hands with Sin and responded, "Nice to meet you and your shadow, Sin. I'm Alcyone but you can call me Alcie if you want." Smiling slightly, Alcyone had turned her attention away just for a second and now she had no idea where her shadow was.
Her shadow was rapidly moving throughout the class interacting with all of the different shadows. Alcie's shadow had approached Mai's shadow and was prodding the unmoving shadow rapidly. Oh god. "Sorry!" She called out to the ghost hoping that her own shadow would stay put for once as she went over to see if she could take control of it.

Lizzy had heard many things about the school's headmistress - specifically, horrible things involving her weird habits and her punishment of sending some students off to detention in a bathroom... Although those who were involved in the 'bathroom' incident seemed unwilling to talk about it. It must be that bad. Due to how infamous she was within the school (and outside of it as well, she supposed), Lizzy feared Hellma even before meeting her... In fact, she had to force herself off her bed and out of her room to attend 'Shadowcraft 101'.
Upon entering the class, the first thing that caught her attention was the well-known Princess Corner, although Lizzy guessed that it was just a smaller duplicate of the real deal. Still, it was disturbing enough for her to pick a seat that was furtherest away from it after mouthing 'hi' and giving those she knew a subtle wave. She didn't feel comfortable in the room at all, and wanted the class to be over as fast as possible... She fidgeted in her seat, looking around for signs of Hellma. When the headmistress' voice boomed suddenly, she jumped in her seat and blushed, embarrassed at what she just did.
However, Lizzy being Lizzy, she listened attentively to what the short headmistress had to say, feeling rather upset about her 'you all fail' comment, but tried not to show it on her face; after all, the headmistress was right about her not being able to control her own shadow... She looked at where the Reaper's shadow was, and sighed inwardly before looking determined; that looks difficult to master, but if she did... Perking up at hearing that they would be given the chance to learn how to control their shadows via the suspicious looking candy, Lizzy smiled; perhaps coming to this class was a good idea after all! However, she couldn't help but feel relieved that she was not the one tasked to be the "teacher's assistant".
As the Reaper (Device? Is that her last name?) came over to her table, Lizzy smiled and muttered a soft 'thank you' before grabbing three candies, immediately popping one into her mouth. The sensation that followed caused a shiver to run down her spine, and she sat in her seat, unmoving for a second. Then, out of the corner of her eye, she saw a most familiar shape heading towards where a majority of the shadows were gathered - or rather, it was frolicking towards them.
"Oh no, Lizzy-shadow!" She stood up, wincing when she realized that there was no shadow under her; it looked weird... She was so used to seeing that black shape follow her that she felt rather incomplete without it. Biting her lower lip, she then went after her shadow to keep an eye on it.
Lizzy-shadow, however, just zipped about the other shadows without stopping. Then, just as suddenly, it changed directions and moved towards where Alcyone and Mai's shadows were, before... Wait, is it giggling? There was no sound, but that pose! Lizzy blushed as she approached the two ghouls, "So, so sorry... It just ran off..."

More and more students were having their shadows run off as the candies were passed out. The room was now filled with shadows no longer under their owners control. Tahki was not different. Her shadow still was playing keep away from her. The gryphon wasn't so sure how much more she could take.
The gryphon was worn out from running around after her shadow so she took a seat to catch her breath. She was glad she did too. The room was CHAOS. Complete chaos. Honestly, it was fun to watch. She noticed Daisuke and Julian in the middle of the chaos and gave them both a friendly wave. It calmed her nerves some to see familiar faces.
Julians shadow seemed to be chilling with hers. Tahki leaned forward and folded he arms on the desk. Her chin soon joined her arms on the desk as she rested and watched everything going on.
"This is crazy," The gryphon whispered and watched her shadow transform into a full on gryphon form. It playfully pawed at Julians shadow almost in attempt to get it to play. Strange.
Tahki looked up to see a shadow that had made its way to the ceiling. It belonged to an undead girl who was cheering. Tahki couldn't help but watch for a moment before returning to watching her own shadow attempt to play with Julians.

After the little Detention Ordeal (of which he did not like to speak, though he did wear his fabulous shirt from time to time), Thackery was understandably a little frightened to be in Hellma's classroom. Well, he probably would have been just as worried about being in her presence regardless, but the anxiety over the possibility that she could do that to him again certainly wasn't helping. If he had been sent to detention simply because he had made an attempt at finding his one kitsune true love, there was no telling what simple mistake might merit a trip this time. He had to behave - and had to be a little more careful about where he put his name and picture. He watched a very large sampling of his classmates before he finally popped the candy into his mouth. He winced. He made a face. He prepared himself to lose his lunch, but...much like Emily's discovery as Initial Tester Extraordinaire, he discovered it wasn't terrible, nor was it really anything. And then, in an instant, it was almost everything he did not want to ever experience while eating candy. He wasn't sure what it felt like to lose one's soul, but he experienced a nagging feeling that the teacher had secretly harvested his via this little morsel. Nothing else could properly account for the sensation. Tack didn't have much time to muse about the candy's overwhelming oddity. His shadow "looked" up at him as best a shadow could, tail wagging, looking not unlike some weird shadowpet version of the Cerberus boy. He. was. enamored. "HEY~!" He nearly jumped out of his desk with excitement, somehow forgetting that he was not only in public, but in the presence of Hellma. And not only that, but that miniature Princess Corner was pretty intimidating, being in such close proximity. Deciding instead to take a calmer approach, he attempted to high-five the shadow that was now restlessly bouncing around in one spot, as though it wanted to go in every direction at once. Thackery's shadow rejected the high-five (leaving its corporeal counterpart feeling a bit dejected). He thought it might have laughed at him. It chased its tail in a circle a few times, darted over his lap twice, and bounced over towards the other shadows. It, like the others, acted as if it were a new puppy let off of its leash for the first time in what felt like forever. As far as Thackery knew, his shadowy half hadn't ever had such an opportunity before; regardless, he wasn't very understanding on its NEED FOR SPEED. "Wait!" he called after it, ears drooping. "We were supposed to be friends!" ( minipet profile <3)

Julian's shadow took the hint and melted into a owl shape of similar size to Tahki's shadow and it whapped her shadow once before fleeing across the classroom walls, though making sure to dodge around the giant's shadow.
Julian caught the wave from Tahki and waved back with a smile of his own. Giving another frowning glance at his shadow, he moved to an empty desk near her. There was too much going on to try running about the classroom. The last thing he wanted was that huge monster to step on his delicate feet if the monster decided to get up to chase his shadow like the rest of the class.
So the Harbinger sat down and set his head on his crossed arms on the desktop, staring intently at his shadow as he tried to "focus his will" on getting the shadow to simply hold still. There were a couple of moments where the shadow seemed to skip, like a skipping TV, but that was it. It made him feel a bit better about the assignment, but every time his shadow skipped, it was barely noticeable. So whether it was the shadow messing with him again or he actually had some kind of hold on it, he wasn't sure.
"At least our sh-shadows are having f-fun," he said with a little sigh and turned his head to give Tahki a little smile.

Tahki lifted her head a little as Julian came to sit beside her and offered a small smile. That was a lot coming from Tahki.
"Yeah. Looks like being crazy is a common thing among shadows." She was still watching her own shadow as it weightlessly flew after the owl shaped shadow. Her shadow didn't seem to care who's shadow got in the way as it barreled on through in a weightless manner.
Tahki had to admit she found it cute that her shadow wanted to play. Though earlier it had been very rude to her. She sighed and sat back up, folding her arms neatly behind her head.
"Wonder if every days going to be like this. Just pure chaos I mean," She uncoiled one of her arms and tapped her chin thoughtfully.
"Wonder what homeworks going to bring."
