Lenon groaned quietly. "Baby or no baby, one means that there could be more." He watched as Tory reached his hand toward the dragon. It backed away quickly. "Tory, I don't think that that's..." The baby Black Dragon snarled and it's lips spread. "...very smart. You know, we should probably just leave it alone, let it on its merry way, and either leave or hurry to find those rouges we were supposed to be finding." He said, somewhat impatient, and still frightened. The scales on the dragon were glinting just enough in the light to tell Lenon that his own weapons wouldn't be much use against the outer hide, and he wasn't very enthusiastic about trying to stab the thing in its eye. That mouth looked incredibly dangerous. "Just back away, Tory, before you get us both killed!" he hissed as the creature assumed its most fearsome look yet. "I don't think it can understand you!"

The dragon only hunched back farther as the strange creature moved in. It was relieved slightly to see the reaching limbs removed, but now, where had they gone?! And the creature was baring it's teeth at it! Defend, defend, how did he defend?! All of a sudden, pure instinct kicked in, and the dragon sucked in a quick breath, it's head rearing back before it shot forward again, mouth open and blasting a sudden small stream of fire directly into the boy's face. It wasn't enough to do lasting damage, the dragon wasn't experienced enough for that, it would however sting like high heavens. After blasting out the stream of fire, the dragon moved back once more, and to the side some as well, where it hunched back against the cliff and watched the two closely. One had attacked him, would the other as well? Could he survive if they did? The poor thing had no idea it was stronger than the both of them combined already.

The technique that made dragons famous, and feared, is their powerful breath attack. Most well known is the fire breath, but of course, that isn’t the only type around. Different dragons have different breath abilities. A fire type dragon will have the famous fire breath, while a wind type will usually just blow a powerful gust of air, and a water type can spray water like a fire hose. Different elements and even elemental combinations may bring forth amazing new breath abilities.

Lenon stepped forward quickly and grabbed Tory's collar, dragging him backwards and down towards the ground. The stream of fire didn't manage a direct hit on either of the two boys, but damn, it certainly was hot! Lenon winced, not understanding that the baby dragon's hot breath wasn't exactly lethal yet. Like most people, he had never encountered a dragon. Dragging Tory's body back away from the dragon, he hissed at him through the corner of his mouth, "Are you trying to get yourself killed? I am not going to go through the trouble of carrying your dead body back through to the Light Empire and have to tell them that you went and pissed of one of those big dragons!" All the while, his eyes watched the Baby dragon intensely. It was not huddled against the cliff face, watching them. Lenon managed to look behind him to see the trail down to the base of the mountain. It wasn't too far, if they needed to flee, but then again, the dragon could fly.

 Tory scratch the back of his head nervously while sitting on the ground. "Hahaha.", he laughed softly. "You see I'm kinda clumsy, still scratching his head. "But I'm not that found of being burned. If this dragon wants a fight then let's give it one.", he said with a serious look. Which is kinda weird because Tory always has a smile on his face. Tory then got on all four of his limbs and the hair on his head began to stand up. Just then, Tory thought,"No. This dragon is a new born which means it must have been incubated by its' mother. I'm not experience enough to kill a full grown dragon.", he said while standing back up. His hair slowly started to calm down to it's normal form. "Lenon and think we should put our hands behind our back and back away slowly.", he said with his smile returning to his face.

As the dragon watched the two boys, it began to look almost sheepish. As if it had done something wrong by blasting off fire like that. These were the first other creatures it had met. Maybe it just didn't understand them? Ironically enough, at that moment the odd sounds they were making began to make sense to the dragon. It hadn't noticed before, but they were communicating, talking to each other. You see, dragons are born with a tremendous mind, capable of translating nearly any language into something they can understand. It's not always of much use, considering that most don't tend to care what "Lesser beings" had to say, but to some it blossomed into a perfect form of communication. As the words began to make sense, the dragon started to listen in, trying to figure out what they were talking about. One of them seemed to be scared of him, why would they be scared? But he had also stopped the other, who seemed to be wanting to attack still. The dragon had never heard speech before, and a lot of the things they said made little to no sense, so when the boy suggested hiding their hands again, the dragon snarled, stepping forward a foot. It didn't like the idea of having this violent creature hiding it's claws like that, claws being the only thing it could relate to the odd creature's fingers.

Tory then looked at the dragon with an annoyed smile on his face. "So do you wanna fight or not, Pinky?", he said giving the dragon a nickname. Tory sat down a few feet away from the distance of the fire and looked at Pinky. "These moods swing are'nt very nice and you're being very rude to you're guests.", he said releasing his annoyed smile into a happy one.

Lenon shook his head, his hair swishing in front of his eyes with the wind that blew by on the mountain. "Tory, I really don't think it likes us. It probably thinks that we're going to attack it, so we should just get down to the base and wait for this to leave. I have never seen, much less actually stood off with a dragon, and I have no intention of fighting one." He remembered all of the stories of dragons ripping people apart as a child. Maybe they wouldn't be able to tear off your limbs while you were still living and breathing, but that didn't mean that they couldn't kill you. As if the dragon knew what they were speaking about, he growled when Tory had suggested they put their hands behind their head. Lenon looked at it for a minute. It was most probably coincidence, so he shrugged it off. "Don't mention fighting, and don't make me drag you away from another burst of flames." He said at last, exasperated.

The dragon looked between the two boys, still not sure of what was going on. The red haired one earned another growl with his offensive remarks, but the other one seemed to be nice enough. The dragon had no idea of the actual thoughts behind what he was saying, but the words themselves seemed good. Not fighting it was good, because it really didn't want to die. It didn't understand that the boy didn't want to fight because he knew he would be killed, it just thought he was being a nice guy. So to reward him, the dragon dropped it's defensive posture and re-assumed it's normal curious appearance. Walking over to the boy in what would seem to them to be a flash, it returned to sniffing him over, before plopping down in front of him, sitting on it's haunches. The dragon didn't much care for all of the conflict, and so long as the violent boy didn't try touching it again, would probably be fine.
It was still curious about whether they were edible though.

Tory decided to leave the dragon alone. It honestly didn't seem to like him. Tory observed as the dragon took a liking to Lenon. "Hey Lenon, looks like you made your first ally. How do you feel about it?", he said waiting for a response.

Had the dragon not been a dragon, and had been instead another human, Lenon would have raised an eyebrow at the seemingly sudden change of mood. However, with things as it was, raising his eyebrow was the last thing on his mind. The 'flash' that was actually the dragon walking over to him startled Lenon, and he scattered backwards a few feet, holding his hands out in front of him, in a human display of defensive reactions. He stood still like that for a minute, watching the dragon, before glancing at Tory. After a second, he glanced back at the dragon. It didn't seem to be very aggressive at this point, but it wouldn't be the first time that Lenon would have made a mistake like that. He really didn't want it to be his last, either. "Tory!" he whispered angrily. "Ally? Have you gone crazy, man?!" Lenon groaned, wondering how Tory could be so blindingly oblivious to the fact that a dragon, a living, breathing dragon was standing in between them.
(( Sorry if I'm dragging this out. D: I just want to try for some realistic reactions in this character. ))

(You're not dragging it on. We just haven't decided if were going to keep it, help us in our quest or return it to his mother.)
Tory looked at Lenon. "Lenon, you don't have to whisper. As long as you don't keep an aggressive tone and you don't hide anything from pinky. Then you don't have to worry about it. Have'nt you noticed that yet?", He said looking at Lenon with a smile. "Now how are we going to play this out. We have to make a decision. Keep it, return it, or have it help us. It may be a newborn, but I'm pretty sure baby dragons' can kill.", he said.

The dragon cocked it's head to the side in curiosity when Lenon jumped back, and quickly moved forward again, plopping down in front of the boy once more. Hearing this talk of allies made it even more curious though. What was an ally? Was that something edible? The red head earned himself yet another snarl when he began talking again. Being discussed as if it was a possession was not something the dragon liked, and this talk of killing wasn't pleasant either. Turning around to face the violent youth, the dragon hunched down once more, this time in a pouncing position, and began to growl. It didn't like this person at all, and no matter what he did, the feeling only became worse.
