Joey took a deep breath calming down as he slowly rose to his feet. He could hear Martufe talking to him through the door which drew his ears farther back. Joey didn't want him to feel that he did anything wrong. Joey just lacked self confident and he could hear Corbin telling him to just breath. That everything would be okay it was just Joey over thinking things again. Martufe was a nice guy and that he wasn't freaked out by the collar.
Joey unwrapped his scarf and held it in one hand as he opened the door slowly. "S...s...sorry..." he took a deep breath stepping outside the bathroom. Taking another deep breath he spoke slowly "I am sorry I didn't mean to make you worry. I am just..." he didn't know how to finish the sentence without thoroughly embarrassing himself. Joey started to fidget looking away from Martufe not sure what to say.

Martufe hadn't know what else to say or do besides offering to leave, and work? Well work was the only thing he had to do. There were several things he needed to finish but...but he didn't want to leave the other so distressed. Everything he'd ever been taught about how to host and treat others...he just couldn't.
As the door slowly opened, Martufe took several steps back making sure to give Joey the space he needed. The fact that sorry was the first word from his mouth caused Martufe's to twinge inside. Why was he apologizing? If anything Martufe should be the one to apologize. he had caught on to how shy Joey was and had pushed his company on him despite knowing. He felt like kicking himself even though the thought in itself was quite silly. The whole encounter was reaching silly. How childish he was acting.
"Please...don't apologize Joey. You have every right to be shy or self conscious. Or even uncomfortable. I don't spend a lot of time around others and I guess I was forcing my company upon you when I sensed your unease. I was rude, forgive me?"

Joey quickly turned to Martufe waving his hands "no..." his face went red after truly hearing his words. Was I really that obvious? How often did people so through me? These and other questions rumbled around his head. His face was the color of a tomato now from embarrassment. It wasn't long before he started to laugh at how silly he really was acting. Corbin was right he just needed to relax and go with his instincts.
Joey had some pretty good instincts when it came to people but never trusted them. He was laughing even harder now and started to cough. "Nooo..It... is...alright" he took a deep breath holding a hand to his chest. "You did nothing of the sort so need to be forgiven" he smiled a few tears in his eyes from laughing. He looked away blushing a bit for he knew he was going to say something very forward. "If you still feel bad about it would you mind eating some treats with me?"

Martufe saw the blush rising like a tidal wave upon Joey's face, and groaned inwardly. Why did his tongue seem to take on a life all its own when he needed to think before he spoke? Martufe's hand rose to his face and pressed gently on his forehead. What was he going to do with himself? Work. He needed to work. To concentrate on the leather, scent, the texture...the...laughter?
Why was there laughter? He spread his fingers over his eyes so that he could look at Joey, laughing at the situation. Not just laughing but...really truly having a good and loud laugh. Was what he said really that funny? His hand fell to his side, brows rising in shock as he stood there and watched the constellation try to get a hold of himself.
His mouth agape in the slightest, Martufe's eyes widened at the offer. "I...you want to share the treats that I made you spill?" He chewed on his lip lightly and then sighed with a half hearted laugh. "I...I will be most honored to share your treats...will you let me supply the tea at least? My...Orlin...he always kept tea."

Joey smiled still blushing he was never this forward with people outside his home. He wasn't sure if he should bother Martufe anymore than he is already. "Well.." he started his statement but stopped and thought a bit. Then he touched a hand to his chest "but of course it is the least I could do for you putting up with me." He realized that he was still in the thin of the shoulder short sleeved shirt didn't seem to bother him much.
Joey touched his hands to his cheeks trying to cool his face off some. Though now his hands weren't so icy but rather warm "I just hope you don't mind eating dropped treat." He was a little embarrassed in offering treats like these.

Martufe bowed his head gently and motioned his arm towards his small table near the kitchen area. "Then please...take a seat and I'll put some water on." he twitched another smile before pausing at the others embarrassment and then turning quickly to go the kitchen. If Joey wanted to stay and ...and share his pastries...that had fallen... then... he wouldn't argue the matter.
Shuffling about in the kitchen, he turned red as he realized he needed to wash another tea cup. When you live alone for so long...there's never a reason to keep more than one tea cup clean and the rest had accumulated a nice sheen of dust. Putting the tea kettle on the stove, he quickly washed the cup and set them and the saucers down on the table as steam began to slowly come out the kettle's nozzle.
"I'm sure they taste just as well dropped...I don't think anything could damage the hard work of that pastier. The time and effort that went into those recipes...the loving decoration and design..." Martufe leaned against a chair closest to the stove, avoiding the tall backed chair that seemed to represent the head of the table.
A small smile pulling at his lips. "It would be a shame to not enjoy and relish the hard work just becuase of a little spill. But...listen to me. Here I go rambling..." he turned back to the kettle as it began to whistle and pulled it from the stove. placing it along with a pretty hand painted serving platter on the table for the tea and pastries.

Joey walked over to the table and noticed that he left the pastries downstairs. He paused and looked at Martufe as he walked away then looked back at the path to the shop. He wondered if he should say something or if he should just go downstairs and get them. He knew it wouldn't take long so he thought it best to just go get them.
Joey felt it would be too embarrassing to tell Martufe that he didn't even have them up here. He thought it was just best to slip downstairs and grab them before Martufe noticed. It was simple and it shouldn't be a problem.
He smiled softly "no I suppose that wouldn't be a problem a bit of cosmetic damage doesn't change the taste. It is always about whats on the inside" he smiled almost fogetting such an old saying.
Joey moved to the door when he heard the kettle's whistle he moved as quickly as he could. As he entered the shop he looked around for the little black cloth bag that held its treats. He spotted it exactly where he left it picking it with a sigh of relief. He didn't open the bag just rushed back to Martufe hoping he wasn't missed.
Taking another sigh of relief he walked over to the table being careful not to drop them again. Inside were peanut butter cookies shaped like cigarettes dipped in white and milk chocolate. The signature rose pastries are rose petal infused cakes with a chocolate ganache filling and strawberry candy petals.

"Oh..." The constellation turned back to the cabinets as the other went down the stairs, he had forgotten the actual tea itself and began to rummage through the cupboards. Pulling out a rather old and dusty metal tin, he mumbled to himself about having to give the cabinets a complete overhaul. After all...what would his brothers think if they came home to this mess in the home? He reached for a rag and wiped the dust of the tin as he heard Joey coming back up the stairs.
"Its in my greatest hopes that you love this..." With a small grunt he popped the lid open, a few dozen tea bags laying in the bottom. "Me and Orlin...we made them together. I'm not much at tea but Orlin is amazing with the flavors." Martufe placed a small homemade tea bags into each of their cups, the scent of pomegranate, cranberry, and white tea filling the air. As the scent wafted to his nose, Martufe sighed gently and poured the hot steaming water into their cups.
As the box got closer, Matufe couldn't help but smell the strawberry from the specialty pastries. berry...anything berry and he always found himself hopelessly addicted. "Oh my are those.." he pointed to the box, his eyes locked on it. "I mean...I hate to be horribly forward about choosing said pastries but i would forever be indebted for just one of those signature pastries."

Joey looked down at the box and smiled placing it on the table with a giggle. "I love tea, I am sure you have excellent taste Martufe" he nodded. His face was warming up a bit along with his smile. Kaantaa always said that he had a very warm smile that brightened up her day. Joey could only chuck that up to her being her and her maternal ways.
Joey was wondering about the name it was a first but wasn't sure to inquire about it. Maybe a little later he would ask Martufe about that name he didn't want to invade another privacy. Though Joey was always a curious little thing, little not really he stood at at least 168 centimeters.
Joey opened the box and you could see broken cigarettes and few crushed petals. But all and all the signature treats were okay slightly squashed. The candy petals were mostly all there what he neglected to notice the strawberry candy roses. They were of a taffy consistency slightly frozen so they retained their shape. "I do hope you enjoy them, I hate to admit it but I have never had the treats before" his face tinged red.

His eyes still trained on the box, he tried his very utmost best not to lick his lips as he saw the berry petals and candy roses. "Never had them? Oh dear now...well then it is an extra honor to share these with you." His hands we're automatically moving on their own, reaching for the box to serve them both a signature pastry with the berry petals and candy roses. He made sure to place Joey's on his plate first and then set the rest of the bob on the serving platter he had set out.
He picked up his tea to keep him self from attacking the pastry and the looked to Joey as he sat down. "I recommend the signature pastries first...since not only are they the best but they are the most rich. Now I won't let myself take a bit before my guest but I must warn you I'm getting dangerously close.." He half smiled in embarrassment and half just becuase he was enjoying having another living breathing person in the room.

Joey smiled and couldn't help but giggle as to see how happy Martufe was. He was in a much better mood and it was showing in his actions. Joey was a bit puzzled on why Martufe was acting a little strange. "That is very kind of you but I am just a plain person" smiled kindly.
Joey scooted his chair in and he was reflexively about to serve them but stopped for Martufe was to quick for him. With a small giggled he tried to hide behind his hand he placed a napkin on his lap. "I will take your recommendation then" he grabbed the fork and broke the pastry open giggling at Martufe's words.
When he opened it up he was shocked to see it was a cream pastry though it didn't show on his face. He should always eat everything on his plate but had a dislike for cream pastries. He only ate them with Corbin because the little one adored them so much. He thought of something quickly to say "well my palate may need something with less cream" he smiled politely.
He placed the fork on the side of the plate and picked up the rose. Joey had a bad habit of absorbing cold and sadly this casued the rose to melt. Joey got part of a petal in his mouth when it started to melt down his mouth, neck, hand and wrist. Joey plushed "I am so sorry it happens often to me" his face was turn red. Slight bits of the taffy haning on his lips parting with his word. The rest slightly melting down his hands as he thought of refreezing it but it would just get stuck in his fur and that would be painful to clean up.

Martufe's fingers were rubbing the edge of his tea cup to keep from reaching from his pastry before his new friend had a chance to taste it. His leg shaking up and down since it was hidden from view under the table. When his brothers had been here...they had restricted his berry intake. Trying to keep what they called a quite unhealthy addiction under control. However...without them here...Martufe had no one to restrict his dining habits and the addiction had become immensely worse.
He tried not to stare as Joey cut into the pastry and had to hold back a from biting his lip as the other constellation said he would have to choose something else. One would think the extra few seconds it would take for that first bite wasn't much, but Martufe saw them in slow motion as he contemplated how rude it would be to ask Joey for the pastry he didn't want.
Then it happened, the strawberry rose began to melt rapidly and Martufe went bright red as he found his eyes moving down Joey's neck and to his hand and wrist here it dripped. His mouth fell slightly agape, and then he swallowed hard. Crimson eyes wide as had to concentrate in order to not break his tea cup. Thick, rich, candied strawberry was dripping all over Joey.
Gulping again, Martufe lowered his tea cup and grabbed his napkin in an effort t force himself to the sink to get some water so he could help. Only...he wasn't walking towards the sink. "Oh that must be dreadful having that happen...I..." he was moving around the table, his hand brushing his hair back. "I...it would be a shame to waste it really...I mean wouldn't you just feel awful...I would feel horrendous and..."
He rambled, still red as he reached for Joey's hand and gently held it in his own,his finger getting a bit of berry on it and he automatically raised it to his mouth and licked it off. His eyes closing as he smiled before they flew open wide and he looked to Joey half mortified half wanting permission. "Oh my..I'm...so sorry. I don't know whats come...okay so I know exactly whats come over me. I can't...let this go to waste and...oh please forgive my forwardness and.." he licked Joey's hand gently, noticing how cold he was once more and how it was like liking a Popsicle.

Joey was red and not sure what was the best action for him to take. Well the least embarrassing action for him to take "well..." He didn't know what to say and seeing Martufe move he was confused. He stood up to head for the bathroom turning his head towards it.
Joey felt Martufe's hand on his and he froze not sure what he should do next. There was one time something like this happened to him and he was way to embarrassed to do that. He was thinking of what to do and going through what another person would in his situation.
First person that came to mind was Iah now what would he do. He could hear Iah say share with him I am sure some has gotten on Martufe cheek help him out. Joey went even redder with this thought. Then Sundarii came to mind he would say something like... Joey stopped his head was exploding with heat and only pulling more from the taffy causing it to melt more.
"I.." he couldn't even get out a statement but he didn't hate Martufe's touch. This just made it even harder for him to react with a level head. His tail was wagging slightly and his ears weren't down. Interaction with other people were limited on his own behalf. No reason to be happy he thought to himself it had nothing to do with him personally.
Joey slowly move his head to Martufe's face and tried to cover his mouth to afraid to look Martufe in the face. "I...I.." he couldn't even get the words out.

Joey hadn't pulled against him, he hadn't told him stop, had barely moved. As if Martufe's obtuse action had really caused him to freeze like a Popsicle. This was wrong. it was unforgivable. It was probably unsanitary. It was a multitude of things. He licked the cool wrist gently once more before his head pulled up, eyes locked on the rather sizable drip on Joey's throat. "I... Oh for the love of...this is ridiculous. I'm licking strawberry liquid off your arm for crying out loud...I just...I'm so sorry Joey. You haven't said a thing..."
Despite his mumbled apologies and mind coming to his senses, his red eyes were still staring at Joey's neck and his hand still held the others gently. His head slowly inching towards Joey's. No this was wrong...rude...crude...horrid...ill mannered...not him in anyway! This was no longer an innocent addiction. He had lost himself amongst the the scent and taste and needed to pull himself out of it. Yes...friendship. if he did this Joey would surely leave. He would belonely once more and have shame his family. Well perhaps he had already shamed his family but he could fix it!
Hand letting go Joey's wrist, he closed his eyes and took several steps back. Forcing himself to take deep breaths, he kept his eyes closed. "I'm sorry Joey...please...please feel free to clean up in the kitchen or the bathroom. I think I should stay....right...here. I understand if you wish to leave..."

Joey had a hard time looking at Martufe he knew he should have done something. He nodded his ears were moving back any normal person would be uncomfortable in this situation. He headed to the bathroom and didn't know what to say. He could only feel his body icing up and the stickiness that was on his arm and neck would be difficult to clean off. He closed the door and leaned against sighing as he lowered his head. "Brilliant Joey" he sighed and tried to calm down and clean himself up.
He would have hit his head against the mirror if this were his own house. He wasn't calming down but icing up other things. This just made him panic the faucet was frozen and the sink is freezing as well. "Uh...calm down Joey...Calm down" he took a few deep breathes so not to cause anymore problems for Martufe.
Joey took a few more deep breathes trying to unfreeze the faucet. He could hear the pipes kinking and the water would need to go somewhere. He manged to unfreeze the water pooling in the sink and part to the fauset. This created a spray which thoroughly doused Joey who forgot that he could simply turn the water off. He panicked and his brain finally worked and thought hey shut the faucet off. It was to late he was thoroughly doused in water with a sigh he slunk down to his knees and conked his head on the sink.
"Great, what else will you do to embarrass yourself Joey" he groaned. "Oh yeah talking to yourself" he looked around seeing if he had much water to clean up. Strangely it was mostly on him taking his shirt off he wronged it out. Then wiped the floor and surrounding areas with it. He hit his head against the door wondering how to explain this to Joey. "I bet he is thinking I am making excuses to stay here...I am sure he thinks I am really pathetic."
