((Yup! Standing))

Freakshow was standing near the guard rail, his back to the ring, unable to see what Nate was planning. By the time he was alerted by the fans excitement, it was too late. He spun around, "Ah!-" Evans collided with Freakshow at a high speed! Freak slammed back first into the guard rail, pain shot through his body as he slumped to the ground. Fans jumped to there feet to get a better view of what had happened.

((Cool. Just got Starcraft II today, it kicks a** xD))

The GWF fans in the front rows were on their feet trying to get a better look at the carnage laid out in front of them. Nate had taken a chance with that move and it had paid off for him big time. A wide smile spread over his face and he took a moment to bask, raising both arms above his head and calling out to the crowd in his exhileration.

"Natural! Woooo-yeah!"

Some members of the crowd got behind his display and started chanting out "Natural! Natural! Natural!" which only caused Nate's smile to grow even wider as he moved over to put the boots to Freak's slumped form, gripping the guard rail with his hands to get a little more accuracy and power behind each kick.

Meanwhile, in the ring the referee had begun his ring out count...

"Auuuugh..." Freakshow groans, sitting against the guard rail. His hand behind him, resting on his lower back. Before he could begin to recover, he was stomped! Each boot forcing more air and energy out of Freak. He fell to the side, attempting in vain to cover up from the stomps and scoot away from the attacks. All the while trying to plan ahead, he couldn't let the match keep going the way it was. Intending to strike the second Evans inexperience shows. But that was later, because as of then, Freak was just trying to defend himself.

Nate's relentless assault against his downed opponent was gaining him more and more confidence with each well aimed boot. Freak had slid down to the floor now and was trying to cover himself up, reducing the effectiveness of Nate's offense; it was time for Nate to mix it up again.

A quick plot came together in his head and he stole a glance over at the steel ring steps before attempting to pull Freakshow back up to his feet where he would try launching his opponent into the steps after running a few steps with him to build up speed.

His defense of, essentially curling into a ball, had worked. Or at least gave Freak a break. With little resistance, Freakshow was dragged to his feet, breathing heavily. When Evans grabbed Freak and began heading in the direction of the steps, he had an idea of what the opposition intended. He decided to go with a simple, tried and true reversal. As they got closer to the steps, Freak tried shoving Nate off him and towards the steps!

Nate had made a rookie mistake of getting too overconfident with the way things had been going for him in the match so far and had telegraphed his next move to his opponent, giving the Freakshow enought time to think of a simple counter. Mere seconds before they reached the steps where Nate was intending on launching Freak, the Manhattan Freakshow put on the breaks and launched Nate first...

Since the hit had originally been intended for Freak, the Wildcard wasn't lined up properly to hit the steps full on, but unfortunately for Nate he didn't miss the steps either, but caught his knee on the corner of the steps instead.

"Aaaargh!"

The thump of flesh against steel was almost drowned out by Nate's yell, but could still be heard by all in attendance as the Natural fell to the floor in front of the steps and rolled to his back, clutching at his hurt knee. That didn't go anywhere close to how he had planned it and to make matters worse, the referee was still counting.

Freakshow dropped to his knees a few feet from the stairs, still stunned by the suicide dive moments ago. He looked towards Nate, and clapped mockingly. Acting like he planned the whole thing. The reality being he was moments from eating steel and needed to improvise. With not much more time to showboat, he rolled into the ring at around the six count. Freak sat in the ring casually, a lopsided grin on his face. "Count faster!" Freak said, but only to antagonize the referee. He wasn't anticipating his opponent making a recovery.

Nate's knee hurt pretty bad from its collision with the steel steps, but with the referees count still running, he knew he had to put it to the back of his mind and get back in this thing.

"7!"

Nate rolled from his back onto his stomach and tried unsuccessfully to stand.

"8!"

Hearing the count in its final seconds and also hearing Freak calling for a faster count; desperation and sheer adrenaline was kicking in like crazy. Nate raised himself up to a kneeling position with the help of the very steps that had been used to hurt him.

"9!"

With a grunt of exhertion and desperation Nate managed to pull himself up from the steps to the apron where he rolled under the bottom rope and into the ring mere milliseconds before the referees count reached ten.

With the pain pushed mostly out of his mind Nate gripped the ring ropes and tried to use them to regain a vertical base, managing to get up on his good leg while leaning against the ropes to take some of the pressure of his sore knee.

By the time the ref was at nine, Freakshow thought he had already won. He stood up arms raised in victory. This joy was quickly brought to a stop as he caught Nate in the ring out of the corner of his eye... "Son of a b***h!" He was shocked. Shocked that Evans was able to get into the ring. But also shocked that this Rookie had the nerve to get back into the ring with him. While most would see determination in Evans, Freak saw disrespect. He stormed towards his opponent... Leaned over Nate, and shoved his wrist tape covered forearm into the face of Evans. Then, in a display of viciousness started grinding his forearm into his face and eyes. Back and forth, wanting to smother and disfigure the rookie. Not many approved of this brutal, ugly, barely legal move.

Freakshow's vicious and ugly assault earned him little support with the GWF audience and large sections of the crowd restarted their "Natural!" chant to try and get behind the rookie who was getting his facial features rearranged at the hands of the Manhattan Freakshow.

But that was fine because as much as Nate liked having the crowd behind him, he wasn't afraid of pulling out a few cheapshots of his own. Nate was holding his hands up and trying to shove Freak away but in the mess of flailing, shoving hands Nate sneakily delivered an "Accidental" thumb to the eye of his opponent while the referee was yelling down Freak's ear to break off his barely legal attack.

The thumb slips through! In contrast, the fans who saw the thumb to the eye, didn't seem to mind. The fans that only saw the result of the thumb, thought Freakshow was faking, trying to get Evans disqualified. He put a hand to the eye that was thumbed, his vision blurry. With his other hand, he swung blindly, almost hitting the ref even! He headed for a corner, wanting to get his back to something while he was blinded.

Yes! He'd succeeded in giving himself an opening and some breathing space. The GWF crowd didn't seem to mind his illegal tactic either, which was a bonus. Nate took a few moments to catch his breath and clear his head from the disorienting wrist-tape face-rape and then moved away from the ropes to test his knee. It was still sore, but it was definitely workable.

Freak was swinging wildly with his impaired vision and almost clipped the referee, which could have earned him a disqualification. He'd backed himself in one of the turnbuckles though which was a good veteran tactic considering his blurred vision. Nate would have to remember that should he ever find himself in the same situation.

Not wanting to waste the opportunity he had created for himself Nate rushed against Freak to deliver a hard clothesline in the corner.

((lol, I named the barely legal assault xDD))

(( xd ))

Still recovering from the thumb, Freak looked up to check on his opponent. He saw something coming towards him, fast. Using skills of deductive reasoning, he figured that it was Nate. But Freakshow was unable to come up with a competent reaction in time, and was sandwiched between Evans and the turnbuckle. Freak stumbled out of the corner on jelly legs, took a few hopeful steps, then his wheels gave out on him and he flopped face first on the mat.

Freak didn't have enough time to avoid Nate's clothesline and the Natural watched as his opponent came out of the turnbuckle on jelly legs and flopped down on his face in the middle of the ring. Seizing the opportunity almost instantly Nate quickly slid down next to Freakshow and rolled him over onto his back, hooking his far leg for a quick pin attempt...

Freak was rolled over to his back, and hooked for the pin. The ref counted, One... Two... Freakshow kicked out! Pulling his shoulder up at the same time. Not being a trusting person, he wanted to make sure the ref saw him kick out. He rolled to his stomach, wanting to be in a better position to get up. He put his palms to the ground and lifted himself up to his hands and knees to start his ascent.
