Twi was distracted enough to miss most of what was said. he caught the dillema that Arturo faced, something about summer, and then a question about how he met Scarlet. that caught his attention and he snapped back to attention.
"ah, well... i wasn't expecting to become such friends. we got along in a gallery, and then later when i mentioned my desire to campaign for Dark Elf Rights she decided to support me. she was very helpful." he said with a smile.
"if it weren't for her help, i probably would never have succeeded in my plight."

Twi blinked several time sin rapid succession.
"..does she now?" he asked after a short pause. he was honestly surprised.
"i'll never understand what about myself draws people so powerfully to me, there isn't anything particularly special between us i know about, save deep friendship."
he began scratching his head, trying to think of anything more.
"nope, i cannot for the undeath of me think of anything else. perhaps it is just that i have done such a good job establishing my Tribe. she is a highly esteemed Tribeswoman among us you see."
Twi now raised an eyebrow. "tell me though, what do you think this smile of hers means?" he asked Devonte.

Devonte shrugged, disappointed he couldn't get anything black-mail worthy out of Twi. "She doesn't use that smile for anyone else, so I have no basis for comparison. I had thought that you and she had a romantic fling in days gone past, but I see that I was mistaken. Perhaps it is simply friendly affection for you and your tribe after all." He looked up at the dance floor, his eyes finding Scarlet's whirling form out of habit, just in time to see the dance end and his sister turn to Sam. "Speak of the succubus.... I hope your friend is aware of her wiles. She is a hopeless flirt, even by our standards."
On the dance floor, Scarlet turned to a familiar face. "Sam? Darling is that you?"

Twi just chuckled and observed, being a bit of a wallflower tonight.
Samuel turned and smiled broadly, before dipping into his most lavishly flamboyant bow of greeting. "lady Scarlet, how wonderful to see you. it has been too long, has it not?" he walked over to her and lightly took her hand, leaning down as if to kiss it, but baring his fangs last minute in a mockery of biting her hand.

"Far too long," Scarlet agreed as she curtsied deeply to Sam's lavish bow, her hands upraised like a ballet dancer. When he caught her hand, her breath quickened in anticipation of a sweet bite instead of a passive kiss. To her disappointment, his fangs only grazed her skin. "I am so glad you could accept my invitation. Did I see another dear acquaintance lurking in the shadows of the bar or was that only my wistful imagination?"

"hmhm, as luck would so have it, our dear Valthier has returned from his forays in the Durem Mafia." he gestured to Twi, who raised one hand from his chest and wiggled his wrapped fingers, Rosary Beads dangling.
Sam then dipped Scarlet gracefully and slowly, and made a mischievous smile like a cat, lips pursed but curled at the edges.
Twi made his way over slowly, giving his friends time to flirt.

Scarlet followed Sam's elegant lead with casual ease. He had always been a marvelous dancer. "I haven't seen my precious Valthier in ages," she said delightedly, her eyes smiling more than the corners of her mouth. Somehow, their cold garnet hue softened to the color of candlelit roses. "And what has been entertaining you, these days? Still fiddling around?"

he chuckled, enjoying leading Scarlet in his compound of Waltz and Tango. "mostly Jazz shows in Barton unfortunately, though the company their was even more entertaining." he chuckled again at the end of that statement, allowing imagination free reign.
suddenly, the sound of a throat being cleared interrupted them. Twi stood next to them, hands behind has back, in feigned-faux patience.
Sam stepped aside.
Twi bowed, and offered his hand. "may i have this dance?" he asked, raising a snowy eyebrow, and smiling.

Scarlet curtsied with that same small smile that filled her eyes more than her lips. "You just couldn't resist, could you?" she teased. "But I am so glad you came. It gives us a chance to catch up."

"oh, how could i?" he answered, taking her hand and continuing the dance where Sam and her left off. he was considerably clumsier, not used to Ballroom dancing.
"don't mistake me for jealous of course, i enjoyed watching you and Sam be your silly selves. how have things been?" he asked.

Scarlet patiently followed his lead, using her natural grace to make up for his slightly clumsy ways. "You? Jealous? I don't think you have a jealous bone in your body," she teased. "I've been keeping busy. My latest fancy is playing the seductress with wealthy playboys. I blatantly seduce them, and then on the one-year anniversary, I bestow a little bundle of joy in basket on their doorstep with a suitably heart-rending note of how I can no longer care for the child. The infants are orphaned humans, of course, usually ones abandoned by other lowlifes. It takes a good deal of research to find the right man to raise the child, and naturally I keep tabs on the little families I make. But invariably, they are all happier for the arrangement."

"heheheh... you always were a mischievous one, if well-intentioned." he chuckled, smiling at her. he perouetted her, and did a little swing-move where he lets her spin from his outstretched arm and then back into the waltz-position.
"i never know whether to agree or disagree with the method, so i just accept that the motive makes up for it. i admire the acting though, you should star in a play." he grinned at her, devilishly as always.

Twi couldn't help himself, he burst out in laughter, standing with his hands holding Scarlet's. it wasn't that he found the idea silly or anything, it simply amused him so much.
