Beta Clutch ORP - Manned Flight[ Insert thoughts about this after completion ]
Finally the time came for Kelvari and Sakath to take flight. Personally, Kel didn't much care for acrobatics during their first flight together, even if she was inclined to take anyone's side but O'rer's. She'd been raised in the Weyr and was intimately acquainted with the high attrition rate amongst Weyrlings. Her goal, with Sakath finally growing into himself and out of the Atypical fragility, was to make sure they lasted to a ripe old retirement age just like her father and his brown.
Sakath, however, was appreciative of Serinth's ploy and would have bugled encouragement towards the crimson when she landed if Kel hadn't strictly forbade it.
I'm all for getting into trouble on my own, but getting into trouble for agreeing with someone else who is getting into the kind of trouble I would never get into is silly. She chided her silver, giving the riding straps one last once over before settling herself between Sakath's ridges.
I am not sure I follow... Don't worry about it, let's go!Beneath her, Sakath's muscles tensed in assent, waiting patiently for the other dragons to take off without having to be asked. Both the silver dragon and his rider had decided that if they couldn't be first, they would at least appear to be gracious in allowing everyone else to go. It was an accord that didn't need words, not with the kind of bond the two had been forming during their Weyrling training.
Finally...
There they go! LET'S FLY!This time she couldn't hold back the silver's exuberant bugle as he bounded forward a few steps and was airborne. Shards, she couldn't even hold back her own exclamation once Sakath's wings carried them above the treeline and twirled a little when his wings caught on a strong thermal and took them racing upwards.
"WOOPIE~~~!"
