eve though Fai and Kuro-pipi seem like polar oposites, I think they really like each other, and that Kurogane actually enjoys the nicknames, even though he gets really mad at Fai. whee

I agree! Fai is such a silly flirt. whee Your ava is cute, btw.

Hmm... in general yaoi scares me, but with Clamp it's so sweet and innocent I can't help but like it... sweatdrop I hope TRC has more Toya/Yuki, which I absolutely adore in CCS. I'm also a big Fai/Kuro fan. It's so cute the way they're bickering all the time... I'm almost certain that Clamp will make them at least friends by the end, and hopefully more. Wasn't it funny in book 4 when Mokona imitated Kuro-pi's voice? xd

Has anyone else noticed how Touya and Kuro-tan's personalities are similar? And how Fai and Yuki's personalities and looks are almost exactly alike? I thought it was CLAMP's way of bringing a bit more of the original CCS to TRC.

I thought of this, but they're really pretty different. Kuro's rude and mean a lot, which is never true for Toya. Fai and Yuki are more alike, but Yuki is just really friendly and nice, while Fai is more silly... I know they look a lot a like, but if you get out your books and compare them (like I have... xd ) their hair and faces have noticeable differences. Not to mention the pairs' relationships and interactions are totally different - Fai's always teasing and (possibly) flirting with Kuro-tan, who gets mad and yells at him, which couldn't be more different from Yuki and Toya...

True, I noticed and acknowledged that. But in a more general POV, it is a little bit true. And don't forget, Toya was a little rude whenever he saw Syaoran in CCS.

Well, he was rude to Syaoran, but he was never anything but sweet and nice to Yuki. I don't know... sweatdrop

Yaoi's a boy/boy relationship in manga or anime. Like Yuki/Toya.

I know. But notice how generally Kuro-pii is only extra rude to Fai, just like Toya was only rude to Syao.

Yaoi is.. a boy/boy relationship with sex involved in it.

Shounen-ai, however, is the more.. boy/boy relationship without the sex. It's more fluffy and sweet like. Cutey, really. Makes you "aww" quite often. 3nodding

I really love shounen-ai pairings! Especially if they're from any of my favorite anime/manga series! heart
Hmmm anyhoo, my favorite pairings in Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle are:
-Kurogane x Fai
-Fai x Li *giggle* (I'm so weird)
-Yukito x Kinomoto-sama *squee, of course! it's like a given xd *

And the following are just random couplings that don't have any hints of how/why they should be together--but, i just think they'd totally be perfect for each other @_@ (don't kill me if you don't like my pairings ><)
-Fai x Yukito
-Kurogane x Li
-Kurogane x Kinomoto-sama
-Li x Kinomoto-sama

Hey, that's cool, whatever pairings work for you. I know over in the One Piece fandom, we have WEIRDASS pairings that we enjoy for no particular reason, so I'm used to that. ^_^ Go weird pairings!

Although I am still loyal to my KuroxFai, YukixTouya, and (slightly unrelated) WatanukixDomeki! heart

[Fighting pairings are often very popular in yaoi and het alike, like Zelgadis/Xellos (Slayers), Zoro/Sanji (One Piece), Kagome/Inuyasha (IY), and even harking back to Vejiita/Buruma (DBZ). Characters with seemingly nothing in common on the surface discover very deep-running similarities at the heart of things, and I think the mere fact that Kuro and Fai are amiable (if not snarky) companions brings that fact to light already. Characters who are different and also the same make for very interesting pairings. Even if it may be only fan speculation, I get a lot of enjoyment out of the possibilities. 3nodding
Yah, I've noticed that happening alot in anime too. Kinda like opposites attract.

But it makes sense. I mean, how often do you see a couple in anime/manga where the two people are similar in most ways?

*points to siggy* Need I say more? From book 1, I've been reading the fanfiction, so I've seen it all. Besides the blatant Touya and Yuki, I'm a supported of Fai and Kurogane.
