Demeter didn't sound very reassuring to him but he decided not to say anything. He was a little hurt by the idea that if he left the stranger might appear, but he was getting desperate to go and find mom now. But should he leave Demeter? It wasn't far to get to mom..
"Right, ok," he muttered, but he didn't really move as fast as he spoke up. Demeter was a grown up, she wouldn't do anything stupid- and if she did, she wouldn't be able to get very far too fast.. right?
Yeah, he was definitely going to get mom. So he finally turned and went off, trying not to go too quickly.

"Thank you," she spoke to his back as he left, if the tables had been turned she would have thought any one of her siblings was nuts to act this way, but it didn't matter she was lost in some form of obsessive love.
Turning she looked around maybe she'd see his familiar pelt emerge out of the corner of her eye and he would say he's sorry for being late and everything would get better.
