The automaton lazily got to his feet and brushed the sand off of himself. "Sand and salt. Great. Hopefully somebody has a can of oil laying around." He looked around and couldn't see anyone at first. Remus turned away from the water to see the huts lined up near the forest.
"Hey?! Is there anyone up there?!" he called out, his deep voice echoing through the air.

"Oh." She rushed towards Hrothbert and inspected him for a good few moments before trying to decide if he was him. She supposed it was. "Where is my husband-?"
A shout from down on the beach gave her an answer. She waved to try and get his attention.

((Rolling properly this time.))
Letting Kaok run to Remus if she saw fit, the sorcerer got out of earshot. He could feel the magic around him, the little voice in the back of his mind telling him to forget how they had arrived, to let it go.
He would not.
"You're quite skilled, whoever you are." he pronounced to empty air, hoping that whatever force that bound them in this illusion would here.

Hrothbert was talking to thin air; the enchantment was powerful, but only sporadically monitored.
"Will you go and wade with me?" Frida asked Emma, excited as a small child. She and Eli both had already forgotten the peculiar circumstances that had brought them there, concerned only with the here and now.

He secreted himself behind one of the cabins, leaning up against the wall before closing his eyes. On the astral plane, silver-blue light flared as the sorcerer extended his senses, feeling for the network of the illusion.
Emma nodded, a concerned look flickering across her face. There was something she should have remembered-but as quickly as she thought that, it was gone.

The illusion reacted badly to Hrothbert's attempts to feel for it, taking him and slamming him back into his body, hard. There would be no tampering, no feeling around allowed; curiosity would be stopped in its infancy.

Pain half-blinded the noble as he returned to his physical form, blue-green eyes flying open. He took a few breaths, sitting up and looking around at his surroundings. ++
The enchantress felt the flash of pain, which promptly caused her common sense to come crashing back down on her. She turned rapidly, extending her senses in much the same way her husband had, sending her spirit forth to search.

The Enchantress was beat down in the same way her husband had been.
Emma had been abandoned by Frida. She and Eli had moved down to the beach, dipping their feet into the water and pleasantly chatting with each other. They had the look of ones drugged.

The Imperator saw Kaok's wave and ran to meet her halfway. Maybe she could make sense of what was going on. Though he figured she would be just as confused as he was. Suddenly finding yourself in a different place completely had a tendency to do that.
"How did we end up on Mimir?" he asked his wife, still feeling a little dazed.

Kaok instinctively grabbed his hand when she approached him. Was this Mimir? Hell, she didn't know. It could be. He would know.
"Beats me. All I know is that we were at the Bainbridge Estate and then I woke up in that cabin over there." That bed was really comfy, maybe she could just lay back down for a few more minutes... no. Not now.

It took the Imperator a second to remember. "We were at the Bainbridge Estate? Oh...oh yeah we were, weren't we?" he said, rubbing his head again.
"Why is it that whenever we visit the nobles, things like this happen?"

The nobles woke from the illusion, earlier than any before. It was not entirely unexpected; both had shown quite a bit of power, and it had been clear from the get-go that they would be difficult to control. No matter what their power might enable them to do, however, the awakening would be harsh. Sand was traded for cold stone; the cool sea breeze, for stale air that tasted of mold and death. Everyone present had been stripped of every possession they owned. They had been thrown into a small room, roughly eight by eight.
Emma would wake to the face of a small, ghoulish elf who tipped water into her mouth. His face was the very picture of glee; though he was certainly very old and wrinkled, every wrinkle was stretched into nonexistence with his smile. One hand roamed over her head, petting her hair and pulling out the tangles.
Inside the illusion, however, an entirely different scenario was presented. Some version of Emma and Hrothbert was still there, but much stiffer than the originals had been. They didn’t say a word, and only retired to the beach, ignoring all others.

The enchantress fought the urge to scream, and plucked the the creature from her with steady hands. The very thought of that thing touching her made her skin crawl.
Cold stone reminded her of nothing more than the cell from her capture. No, that euphemism was far overused. Her rape.
But her husband was here; that was comfort enough. They shared glances, each agreeing to stay silent until they knew more.

"I suppose the magical world is just like that." She shrugged and searched their surroundings for a sign of anyone other than those they had been with before. She didn't see anyone else.
She tried to speak to the nobles, but they didn't seem to be paying much attention to anything else around them. "Emma? Hrothbert? Do you know where we are?"

The creature squealed, scrambling away from the nobles. "Not awake be! Rak not have awake be people long time, go sleep!" His face was contorted in a mixture of shock and anger - he pointed at the ground with one elderly, shaking hand. "Go sleep now be!"
