Tempted Rogue Angel I must apologize Reapernoalias. I looked back and realized that I made a mistake in my original submission. I meant to write that I was playing VIII on the PS2, not the PS1. Sorry! Since I found out what the problem was, I'll answer my own question in case someone else ends up in the same situation. I needed a PS1 memory card to play the PS1 game on the PS2. Again, thank you for your help. HA! This is classic! A random word of advice though. If your memory card ever gets water damaged it would be wise to never use that memory card again. It'll fry your Playstation.
