Somewhat afraid for Marie, Stefanie quickly went to her and tried to keep her head up with her neck. It was pretty easy for her to keep herself afloat just with her tail, and she was 100% sure she could keep Marie safe.
"Glad you're enjoying the swim," she said with a laugh. "It is quite a wondrous place underwater; it's just too bad you can't stay under for very long."
"I'm not sure if you felt it, but did it appear more... quiet to you underwater? For me, when I'm on land, it's where I like to be LOUD and underwater is my peaceful time." Stefanie winked at Marie. "Who knew I could be quiet, huh?"

Marie laughed. "Thanks for the support, darling, an aging mare like me appreciates help." She continued to tread water, floating almost effortless, thanks to the help of her companion.
She thought for a moment. "you know... It was quieter down there. It's very serene." She laughed. "I'm loud wherever I go, if I could I'd probably even be loud down there too!" She chuckled at her own dry humor.

"I don't think it would of been a good idea if you were loud down there," Stefanie giggled. "It might be okay for Mermaids and a little bit for us Kelpis, but I don't think you should."
Stefanie was happy that her new friend was enjoying herself. Marie didn't seem to... be repulsed by her and her habits at all, and she wished she knew more like her.
"Would you like to go back to shore now," she asked. "I can hold you up for a longer period, but I don't want you to tire out or anything."
The sun was getting lower in the sky and Stefanie just admired how it reflected itself on top of the water. It looked like a fallen star. "Look over there! There's a giant star in the water."
She laughed again at how childish she was being.

Marie chuckled at her jokes. "I suppose you're right, being loud underwater wouldn't be the wisest thing for one with no gills~" She was grinning at this point, she hadn't felt so adventorous in a long time.
Marie suddenly stopped grinning and frowned. "Yes, let us go... I have a terrible stomach ache suddenly. It...it's oddly familiar." She began to turn back to shore in a slight rush, the pain was sharp and intense. It felt oddly familiar, and yet, it was a distant memory. She began to panic. "Stefanie, get me out of here, please, I don't think I can paddle much longer." The shore was only feet away, but the anxiety and shock was beginning to get to her.

Immediately, Stefanie was extremely worried. It would be okay if it was just a stomach ache, but she was afraid that Marie might of cramped up or something, which would cause problems for them getting back to shore.
Stefanie dived underwater and used her muzzle and neck to try and keep Marie up and moving back towards the shore as well. She kept this way until Stefanie could see that Marie's hooves were touching the rocks on the bottom.
While Marie was getting out of the water, Stefanie helped her still, allowing for Marie to lean slightly on her whenever she needed it. "Are you okay? I'm soooo sorry..."

Marie staggerd and regained her breathe, still leaning somewhat on Stefanie still. She took a few deep breathes and stabilized herself.
She sighed. "I think I should go. I... I don't know what's wrong, but it's not your fault. I promise. I think... I don't know what i think, but I promise we'll see each other soon, friend. " She bowed her head and smiled,
"Be true to yourself, doll. It'll all work out in the end. Remember, I'm looking forward to the day when you have your ball, and leave everyone out of it. This is your life. Stay true to you." She turned and began to trot, in a hurry to make it back to her home.

Stefanie was still worried as she watched Marie walk away. She said it wasn't her fault, but something still felt... wrong?
Hopefully, she would see her friend again. Hopefully, everything will be okay.
She walked towards the other side of the lake, looking for a place to be and maybe for another Soquili to meet.
(( FIN! I THINK!! XD ))
