K'la's little show only made D'vas grin harder and make a mental note that maybe it was time he got to know his fellow wingmates just a little bit better...starting with her. Oh, he knew S'raid pretty well by now, and joked about getting to know him best of all, purely for the fact that the face he made was always truly comical. "They sharding well better have made progress by now, or what's the point of being here? You think they would've gone home ages ago if they hadn't found anything. This place isn't exactly homey." Sure, the girls wore less, and wore thinner fabrics to get your hands into...but he wasn't doing any of that! It was a mark against the whole cracked place!

Jivith, for all his rider's irritation, could only manage a sleepy-eyed glance at Galvanth. He couldn't ever manage to take much seriously, unless it was something that truly upset his rider - or the way things were. Alumanth going between was one of those things. Unfortunately, he could provide no greater insight. They do not say much of interest. That is all I have ever gotten from them. It was not important before. Now it is. It was a rather calm and perfunctory statement, and green eyes scanned the horizon. I will probably see much of them now. I will listen harder if you wish, mine. This roused the sulking rider, and he nodded.

"Couldn't hurt. We're at a disadvantage here - the Weyrleaders don't seem keen to pull us or the Healers out. Admittedly, I'm not sure how bad I wanna go back to Benden anyway. Cortana's there, probably whelped her brat about now and is ready to shove it in my face." His life only ever seemed to get better, really!

B'tar paused in his scrubbing to gesture toward D'vas with an broad grin, overflowing with amusement, and the chance to take the attention off of his somewhat radical theories, hopefully before their esteemed leader could chew his ear off.
"The proud father." He joked. "Perhaps you should start keeping a log book?"

Of course the fact that K'la was very easy on the eyes probably didn't hurt the timing of the comment either, even if she was a fellow Green rider, B'tar was hardly blind to opportunities outside of Flight. True he doubted she'd do more than look at him crosseyed if he started discussing the star-charts, but there were plenty of other things to discuss.

Pay attention to me Primath sulked. Stop acting like Jivith. She accused, in annoyance.

No, S'raid didn't think that the Trine Weyr was allowing them to stay out of fear. Why, after all, should they fear a handful of dragons, even with a full Weyr to back them? They were strong and independent... and angry. "I rather think that they have some ulterior motive for allowing us to remain. Perhaps they want to see the result of the healers' testing as much as the healers do?" He had never voiced that thought before. "If so, then we are providing a valuable service in ferrying the healers back and forth. If not... then I can only guess at their motivation for allowing us to remain." Tolerating them, really.

Not that they could have expected anything else from a Weyr that they had so thoroughly alienated already. "There is one anomaly and one anomaly alone that might account for the disparate clutches between our own Queens and this Weyr's, and that is the Atypicals. I had considered the climate, but... would it have so great an effect?" Or perhaps there was something about their diet? It didn't make a lot of sense. He didn't know how to explain it. "Perhaps there is something in the air, or the water at home."

All of them foolish theories. "But we should ask about it." Results, clear and true would allow them further insight into what ailed their Queens. At least, that was the hope. Galvanth was silent throughout his contemplation, and seemed almost... subdued. The Bronze was still reeling from the Crimson's death, it seemed, shocked beyond measure by his fellow's actions. Never before had a Bronze attacked another dragon outside of a mating Flight, as far as both S'raid and Galvanth knew.

Tapping his fingers against his belt buckle, the Bronzerider looked contemplative. "Such a thing could be attempted, perhaps. We should... I will talk to the Weyrleaders as I can. We have no real proof that it would help, but if there's a chance..." If there was a chance, they would need to take it. What ailed their Queens? It would deeply disturbing that Benden Queens could not match Trine Queens. He didn't like the idea of leaving the Weyr right now. It would give them the wrong idea.

They would think that they had driven him out, and they had not. No, they would not be allowed to retain such foolish notions. "It isn't our home, nor the healers'. They know their duty as well as do we all. Surely they feel that more important than any temporary discomfort." Indeed, discovering the cause behind the disparate Queens was of the utmost importance. Nothing short of Threadfall could be more important, and that would only be temporary.
