Her little burst of energy seemed to be doing the trick, Hitath's distance between herself and her pursuers actually growing despite the green's clear weariness. She could feel the needs of her lifemate echoing in her mind as well, the man having somehow managed to wander down to where he would be spending his time after her flight, and in her own heart she was feeling very much the same.
It would be not much longer now before she was caught, but she would give whomever dared hold her something to remember!

Pulling away from him? He was not letting her get away now, no way!... That blue was back again! Opeth turned his head and roared at the annoying competitor, causing the pest to swerve sharply in shock and lose ground. Opeth had no time to notice the outcome of his snarl however; the very moment the shout had left his throat he'd gone right back to focusing on the elusive green. She couldn't last long now. She would be his.

Tereth was climbing steadily, barely taking notice of the squabble below him. His attention was entirely focused on the Green ahead, ready to dive for her the second the opportunity presented itself.

Somehow or another the brown had managed to sneak up on her, for as soon as Hitath felt his shadow over her she took a quick turn to the right before looping back again. This move would cost her much in energy but it at least got her out from under him and away from that nasty blue!
Inside her mind she kept pushing herself on, her body refusing to give in to the demands that she stop and simply take the closest male, and slowly she started to climb once more.

Arrrrrg, wherry-headed female! A flash of orange ran through the brilliant purple of Opeth's eyes as the green pulled off yet another fancy stunt, and he did all he could to stay behind her. It would take more than little tricks to get rid of him!

Tereth rumbled in mild irritation as he lost his lead on her, swiftly turning to match her new track. He had plenty of energy still, but the female was very evasive. She put up a good chase for sure.

Ha, that had worked for now! Hitath rumbled with mild satisfaction over her movements for now but she didn't dwell on them, knowing good and well that an angered male could easily move much faster should the lust overtake them. She still had a bit of energy in her yet as she continued to climb, ready to try another stunt should the need arise.
This was not over yet.

Up and up, was it? Fine by him. Wings straining to carry him high and fast, Opeth flew on with his eyes fixed firmly on that aggravating, alluring female form.

Fortunately Tereth was already at a decent height when Hitath started again, so it wasn't at all hard to follow her. Sensing that she was beginning to wear, the Brown began to fly in closer, determined as ever to make the catch.

Her joints were so weary, her wings were feeling so heavy. Hitath was not sure how much longer she could go on, how much longer the others would act so patient.
This would be her last climb, she felt, before something happened.

Several more males had dropped out now, or that was the feeling he got. More space around his wings. Space to stretch out, and try for a final sprint. Summoning all of his energy, Opeth forced his wings to beat faster and harder; he could see a brown closing in too, and he was not going to lose to that lumbering wher!

Tereth let out a challenging bugle to the other male who dared to close in, doing his best to catch up to the Green as well. The moment of truth was fast approaching.

Startled by the bugle Hitath felt her speed suddenly drop only to have her whole body seemingly enveloped by the massive brown. He'd come out of no where it seemed and eagerly embraced the much smaller green, his wings nearly hiding her from all sight. It was likely that those who had not won this flight would now go off and sulk, but such thoughts were far from the green's mind. She was being held, the chase was over, and all the weariness she had gathered inside her body seemed to explode in a single instant.
She had been caught, the flight was over, and now O'rer was moving towards the young man who would help him with his. . . .problem.
