This cat has skils. For the few months Maikeru was alive as a baby on earth he had been raised in a Jazz playing family, 'cat' was one of the few things that stuck with him from that time."

Maikeru saw the leg coming, it had aimed to connect with his head, but when Kyo changed the angle of Maikeru's descent he sped him up as well so it would instead contact his sternum. Maikeru quickly flipped both knives and his wrists around in a split-second move. Right as Kyo's foot started to connect with his chest he drove both daggers together, if the connected both would puncture and go through Kyo's calf muscle.

Maikeru took the hit and skidded across the ground, raising far more sparks then normal, some people thought he carried too many knives.

After sliding about a foot and a half on his back he dropped the two daggers for a moment to the cobbles, reached into the front of his shirt and quickly whipped out eight throwing knives, held inbetween each finger on both hands.

Still lieing on his back we swept his arms out, flinging all eight straight at Kyo. They spread out each going for separate targets; one for his gut, to the left of his neck, into his right eye, one for each leg, one would cut into his shoulder but stab into the wall behind him, one between his legs, narrowly missing what should not be cut, and the final into his hand...paw...hand/paw?

Maikeru stood up and regripped his daggers, "I'm almost out of those, take good care now."

Maikeru shoved off the wall to block, sadly his bit of improvisation(setting his back foot against the wall), which normally goes so well, turned against him. Normally the perfect counter in this situation would be to sweep the lead dagger under the guard of the opponents sword, keep it traveling up and away, and hack into them with the other dagger.

Somehow he ended up traveling more up, than forewards. His quick thinking and whipping of his off hand to try and parry the strike redirected the worst of the damage, but the tip of the katana gouged a shallow but long cut up, and then curving sharply off his chest.

"Ow." Sarcastically came out of Maikeru's mouth as he landed a few yards away. "Shikai is coming soon you ready?"

Maikeru threw both heavy daggers he had been fighting with down the 'street' they had been fighting on, nowhere near Kyo. Then theatrically showing he was empty handed, let his hands drop to his sides where he popped a lit smokebomb into the air. It landed inbetween Kyo and Maikeru and went off, sheltering Maikeru from Kyo's sight and smell in it's noxious smoke.

Arubtly a heavy dart thudded it's way towards Kyo's sternum, or at least where his sternum had been the moment the smoke bomb went off. One more was aimed to each side of him, and one above his head.

Kyo would hear and snicking sound as Maikeru's last two throwing knives left his hands and stabbed into the wall or floor somewhere. Maikeru's weaponry was veritably scattered about the whole battlefield.

"Now to be fair I should tell you my Zanpakutou is Metal-based."

Maikeru stood sideways. A tanto in his right hand and his Zanpakutou in his left. "These are the last of my weapons, unless your worried about me throwing coins at you." Maikeru laughed.

"I've never been the best with a sword, but I'm passable. And I seem to be a better dual-wielder then you are, no offense, I'm ambidextrous. So let's see how this works out shall we?"

Maikeru could finally be seen as the last wisps of smoke were blowing away. He was striding towards Kyo with a grin plastered to his face. With an odd sort of skip and a jump to gain momentum he reached Kyo and began executing numerous quick slashes and jabs. None meant to kill but rather disable and bleed him out. The attacks were spread out all across his body, from his feet to his hands to the last hair on his head. Maikeru's blades were working in concert so both would need to be watched and worried about at all times. But as he lacked the skill he had with knives with the sword those strikes would be easier to block. He however was quite well practiced with a tanto. Effectively a long straight dagger.

"Not bad my friend, not bad at all." Maikeru sheathed the tanto back on his calf.

"However now is my turn, this is going to be fun I think. Kiri Ni gōben kaisha, Vin." A white obscuring mist burst out of absolutely nowhere and swathed the area completely. It was made of reiatsu. It somehow managed to obscure every important sense for a short time, but that didn't really matter. Within a matter of instants it was all sucked back into Vin, Maikeru's Zanpakutou. The classic black and white of Shikai it was shorter by about a third of it's original length with an oddly angled tip. Five daggers nearly identical to the sword orbited calmly around Maikeru's left hand with which he held the long blade. In his right hand he held a sixth dagger identical to the other five. And yes, the blue lines were back, and a few pointed in Kyo's direction.

Enough of the mist had returned to the blade to allow Kyo to be seen, Maikeru was still mostly obscured. "Ahhh, no wonder you were better with Florentine style than I had anticipated. But I have a secret for you," The very last of the mist was sucked into Vin. "I prefer seven blades myself." He let go of the dagger in his right hand, it calmly floated and seemed to fix itself, pointing towards his elbow, on his forearm.

Maikeru took a quick inventory of the lines he could use. Small blue marks streaked towards Kyo's Zanpakutou blades, but that would take alot of energy to resist in a meaningful way at this juncture...the ring. Maikeru smiled wickedly as he slowly rose a few inches from the ground with a slight Push.

Right before Kyo's blades connected he Pushed against the ring on Kyo's hand forcing it back and fouling up that arm's strike. His hands in his pockets not having twitched a muscle he Pulled on one of the knives he had embedded in the stone work earlier. He shot towards it far faster than Kyo could run, completely outdistancing him for the moment, escaping both strikes.

"Oh, yeah, it's only technically metal, not much to do with metal really, it is a heck of a time at parties though let me tell you!"

"Very astute. To be nice I should tell you. I can do the same thing to your Zanpakutous. But it takes more out of me. My...lets say my 'grip' tends to slip more of things the more packed with someone else's reiatsu, even more so the more hostile they are towards me." He rose farther from the ground till he was nearly two feet above it.

"But really I work better at a distance, you see, I don't enjoy getting tazed. Remember the coins I told you about? Watch out, you don't have hierro, these might hurt. Don't worry, I'll aim carefully so they won't accidentally kill you if you miss one."

Maikeru reached into his pouch and pulled out a handful of jaggedly sharp bits of metal. Quickly stacking them into a tower he held them up in front of himself.

"Boo!" He began Pushing on the coins one at a time sending them zipping across the space separating them. They moved faster than a speeding arrow, but slower than a bullet. Maikeru was confident Kyo'd be able to interecept and block them without coming to injury long as he focused. There was a minor and short pause between each coin flying off the stack. Maikeru didn't want to kill him. As he was sure Kyo didn't want him dead either.

"I don't exactly plan on letting you get close for the moment soooo...."

"Ahhh, aren't you sweet." Maikeru smiled and Pushed back harder on the coins, sending them rocketing back at even higher speeds and pressures.

With a quick thought he realized something was heading towards him, what else could turn his coins around? Maikeru shrugged and arubtly Pushed against the ground quite hard, he shot about 35 feet in the air. Lucky though his observation was, unlucky was his dodge. His toes were knocked by the shockwave and it sent him spinning. A few moments later he righted himself in the air, his lower legs were tingling, and weren't yet responding, no matter, he didn't need them.

He made a slight tsking sound that Kyo could likely barely hear even with his advanced hearing, "Overdid it a bit I think." He slowly lowered himself to the top of one of the roofs, where for the first time since releasing his Shikai he let his feet touch the ground. "You ready for this?" Maikeru's sword jumped back into his hand as did the dagger in the other. With a strong Push he shot towards Kyo, surprisingly, he closed his eyes, focusing on the world of the blue lines.

((Just to make it clear, as his lower legs are still numb he didn't put any weight on them when he touched down, rather he just let them touch the sloped roof to cater to an odd sense of showmanship))
