Just as a quick question,
Is Neo-Pagan and Eclectic interchangable?
I was just wondering this so I don't mislabel myself
3nodding I have heard they are but others seem to make them seperate.
I just want to clear the air is all!
It's like this:
Neo-Pagan is a subset of Paganism, and refers to any religion created or essentially revived within the last century or so. (Although it's a bit debateable on the "revived" part.) Essentially when most people nowadays say "Pagan", what they mean is "Neo-Pagan". And that's okay.
"Eclectic" means you draw bits and pieces from a variety of religions in creating your own.
A lot of people are eclectic Neo-Pagans, which means they are following a recent Pagan religion and they are forming it by drawing what appeals to them from various places. Depending on context, such a person might quite happily and clearly refer to themselves as either eclectic, or Neo-Pagan, or eclectic Neo-Pagan.
