Tete nodded, saying nothing else on the topic of her loss or the family she didn't know well enough to want to go back to. He nodded again when she explained what she planned to do, smiling once again. She was very right.

"Yes, waiting around doesn't get you very far," he said, he knew it from personal experience, too. Life wasn't exactly exciting for him.

"That must be exciting," he added thoughtfully. She did seem to have a positive outlook on her little quest, otherwise he might have thought it more stressful. But not all pride lions couldn't stand the life of a rogue, though he knew a fair few who wouldn't have liked wandering around.

"It's not too exciting yet, since I haven't gone far." Not that she was looking forward to the days of walking, but it was something that needed to be done. There had to be something out there for her, or she'd make it herself. None of this hiding business that her mother had done.

"You sound like you wish for something exciting yourself," she mused, glancing up at him with a somewhat-serious face. He was taller than her, but she wasn't completely grown yet. "Wanna come? If you hate it you can just return here."

He made a face when she said it wasn't terribly exciting yet, though he took that to mean she expected it could get exciting- which made him smile a little bit again. He was about ready to shrug when she commented on how he seemed to be wishing for some excitement, not expecting what she asked next. It would be a lie to say he was enjoying the quiet routine he had found himself in now but her questionable seriousness and the fact she was a stranger made him doubtful. Still, he smiled.

"You're inviting a stranger along on an adventure, are you?"

Salma grinned. "Well, don't you forget that I have my guardian. I'm not that worried about my safety, unless you're the one that's worried." She flicked her tail, nodding afterwards, since she had understood his point. She was a stranger, but then that was how everything started. Salma could even stretch the thought that her mother was a stranger to her until she got older. At least a comforting, warm one. Regardless, there wasn't any other way to start making friends or even enemies unless she took the dive.

It was true she had mentioned having a guardian but it didn't make it any less odd that she was inviting strangers along, unless she was recruiting for a pride she intended to start up but she hadn't said anything about that. And there was no way of knowing if she and him shared the same ideas about where they might like to end up or what they wanted in the future.. but almost anything would be more exciting than this.

"OK," he said after another small pause, grinning, "I'll tag along."

"Nice!" That would make this trip a little more exciting...well, sort of a trip. More like exploring, since she didn't really know where she was going or what she was doing, but it would all work out. It had to, because she wouldn't let it fail.

"Want me to wait here? I'm sure you've got family you want to let know..." It did smell like a big pride, after all, and everyone else she knew had a much larger family than she did.

Oh, right. He could just imagine his father's face when he tried to tell him that he was going to leave, this would take some care. That was really the only downside to deciding to leave, but it wasn't like his dad didn't have a life.. kind of. He'd be fine without him.

"Yeah, I better go talk to them," he said, hesitating as he tried to think where exactly his father might be at that very moment.. but he was pretty good at finding things, hopefully he'd be quick now.

"OK, you wait here, I shouldn't be too long," he said, smiling again. Hopefully. Hopefully he wouldn't be too long.

Salma nodded. She was glad that she would just wait here, since she didn't know where anything else was. She didn't need to get lost when they would hopefully set out as soon as possible.

"I'll gladly wait here," she said, plopping her rump down on the grass. It was so ticklish, but it was also so nice to sit on. Much better than the sticks and little rocks that liked to hide within the wet mud of the swamps. "Take what time you need, I'm not really in a rush!"

Maybe, since she found someone to wander with, she would actually know what to get out of this. Where to go, something to do...there would be something waiting for her at the end of the road.
