Oracle couldn't help but follow her gaze to the little red welt forming on her skin form the sting. A more daring stallion might say something like, Would you like me to kiss it an make it better, but even the thought of that flittered through his head caused his ears to turn deep red in a blush. "Well, that's good... that you're not hurt, I mean."
Oracle didn't get a chance to really answer her question about water play, because she was already 'running' away, leaving a trail of rose petals in the wake behind her. He smiled again, feeling himself relaxing a little, before taking off after her. The Cerynei in him kicked him, giving him a slight advantage in water movement as he could spring almost out of the water as he loped after her.

The water certainly put her at a disadvantage of speed. She was not only fighting the water itself but the slight current it had as well. Still laughing she continued to trudge through it till she was out close to the center of the river. "common, the water's not too deep here my hooves are still on the ground. " Laughing she pushed up river.

Oracle caught up with her, proud of himself and saddled up to side, walking alongside her the best he could in the current of the water. He was content to just walk and enjoy her company - happy from cooling off and the pleasure of such a fun and lovely mare by his side. They walked for several minutes, just enjoying the silence.
As his thoughts wandered, he looked down into the cool water rushing around him. "I've heard there are kinds like us that actually live in the water," he said, looking over at her. "With fins and such. Have you ever seen one?"

Thinking some, she shook her head. "Can't sat that I have... but I'm sure they're out there some where... maybe in the ocean..." Her face faltered some at the thought of the ocean. her last run in hadn't been a pretty one having nearly been swept out to sea by the current. Giving herself a mental kick, she grinned wide and stuck her full face under the water and held it there for a moment before pulling it out and giggling. "Didn't see any here.. Hmm.. maybe us land walkers frighten them?" Laughing she gave a small shrug. "Though I've heard that there are some who live in the water and come out on land that like to drown unsuspecting land walkers in the water..."

If Oracle wasn't already pure white he would have paled a bit. "You don't say..." he said, dropping his eyes to the water. "Never heard that bit..."

Nodding she shrugged. "Who knows.. could all be just hearsay." Up ahead was a small clump of trees just off the water's edge some. Smiling, she bumped him with her shoulder. "Common.. lets go set in the shade and stay cool now that we've gotten really cooled down. Who knows.. maybe if we set and wait we'll see one of the water dwellers playing about?"

Oracle smiled and nodded. He hopped up onto the bank and shook out his mane, loving the feel of the cool water sliding over his short coat. The sun's rays were less harsh with his soaked fur and he followed Shoshana into the shade of the trees. The slight breeze, the shade, and the water created a pleasant, cool effect.

The shade was indeed cool and inviting now with her wet coat. The flowers seemed even more lively now that they too had gotten a drink. Laying down on the ground, she looked over to him. "So, seems like all this was well planned." Grinning, she couldn't help but to wonder how hot it really had been. Shaking the thought away lest she be overheating herself once more, she smiled watching the small swells in the current from the bank.

"yeah, the drink and the shade." giving a small laugh she shook her head some. Her rump still hurt but she wasn't about to share that tid bit again. She just hoped she didn't wind up having another cluts moment for the day. One was enough for her especially when the repercussions were as uncomfortable as the bee sting was. A fish jumped out of the water to catch a flying insect up above splashing back into the water. Ears perking she watched the spot the fish had splashed at, thinking about what he'd said about others living in the water.
