Chandra stared at her brother, doing her damn best not to gorpe or have her mouth hang open in pure disbelief. There actually was a girl? And was that... blushing? Her brother was blushing? This was too much for Chandra to believe, and for a moment her troubles with Aliastair and Sonnet were forgotten and behind her.
Still, she couldn't help but feel a sadness at his words. She was use to his gruffness, expected it even..... but he seemed..... sad? Disturbed? Worried? She didn't know, but she didn't like it. Chandra was a kind spirit, she had even refused her mother and fathers pleas that she learnt more battle skills... if Mal had asked she probably would have considered but not because she wanted to hurt anyone, in fact quite the opposite, but because she loved her brother dearly. And right now every instinct in her was telling her to heal.... help.... aid..... be there for her brother, and so that was exactly what she planned to do.
Cautiously she asked, "What's up?" In an effort to break some of the tension she moved forward and nipped her brothers mane in that affectionate way of hers, a sign of togetherness, of family, of love.

Talking about girls with anyone was slightly outside of Mal's comfort zone, though at least he could trust his sister not to make fun of him for it. He didn't like the idea of bringing up the issue with another stallion. An older stallion might think he was stupid or something for not knowing how to react in a situation like this. Girls were better. Plus, maybe his sister would actually understand Deirdre better than he would.
"So, there's this mare..." he started. He paused to flick his tail back and forth uncertainly. Now that he'd started talking about it he couldn't exactly stop.
"She's really great and I like her, but there's something wrong with her." He backtracked immediately, not wanting to give off the wrong impression. "I mean, she's wonderful. She's just sad about things."
