Eltanin Sadachbia I'll debate with anyone, but I am not going to disrespect anyone's belief. I will disagree, but not disrespect. When someone has a belief that is find hard to swallow, yet they believe it with all their heart, they aren't going to listen to you if you aren't willing to hear them out. Seriously, what do you do when someone just comes out and tells you that you are wrong? You are less likely to listen to their reason as to why you are wrong. If I show people the same respect that I would want from them, then I can get to the bottom of why they believe as they do, and they will give me more of an opportunity to express why I can't believe it. You can't help someone by turning them off. If you really want to reach someone, you need to be willing to respect them. I don't know a single self respecting person who will accept "help" from someone else who does not respect them. Besides, you may find that they have very good points that SHOULD be considered. You may find that when you take time to understand why people believe the way they do, then you learn a bit more about why you believe as you do. We have allot of common knowledge that we teach to our children now that just 500 years ago, people were getting ridiculed for hypothesizing on. Sure, I 'll pipe in and say I don't believe something someone says, but I am not going to ridicule someone for believing something. Heck, I love to debate. I have ideas that some would consider crazy, unorthodox, or eclectic, but on those ideas I still have to be proven wrong. I'll honestly say that I don't believe that the world will end in 2012, but until New Year's Day 2013, the people who believe it will end still haven't been proven wrong. (Unless the world ends in 2010 or 2011, and then we can say they were wrong before 2013 xp ) now this is an important thing to teach to people. smile the importance of Respect, and of what makes Debate so wonderful. ^_^

Chieftain Twilight Aakosir Chieftain Twilight in all honesty, i'm of the mind that no mortal has the means to determine what sanity even is.but then again, there is the simple idea of understanding the human concept of Sanity, which would be just going with commonly and socially accepted logic/sense. but if that is so, i certainly can't speak for the rational sane mind. i'm far from it myself. how can anyone claim to know anything for certain? they can claim it, but it doesn't make it so. as i guess the only accurate way to put it, only the Creator knows. in short, i may think someone is "crazy", or agree that they are Insane. but all that means is that they, like me, have thoughts or beliefs that are contrary to the public. it is only when they are dangerous that i begin to worry, the potential for psychosis to lead to Serial Murder, or Terrorism, or Cultism, is a severe problem. call me Insane. i am. treat me as you will. it will happen. i don't believe that 2012 will be the end of the world (a huge change though, definately), but i do believe many things that the general public deems impossible and "crazy". Definitly agree with that. I know I'm not anything like the "average" human. And personalities vary so much. How can there even be a standard for normality? *shakes head*:shrugs.: yet people claim to. nothin' to do about it, people are sheep. i am terrified by what i read in the Necronomicon, i am preparing for WTSHTF, and i believe that there are a number of Global and National Conspiracies that endager the Rights of Freedom that americans have. I do not disagree. I have felt like a Paranoid Schitzophrenic at times because I have sat there thinking "What if this is all a type of population control? A way to manipulate us to kill ourselves. A way to scare us in to obeying the government {Which is not going to happen for this one} A way to stop the comming Revolution"
I think too much sometimes.

I just want to say I love you guys! 3nodding heart
Anyway...oh and I'm not drunk either, BTW... I love the fact that there are people here who realize that normal is just an illusion. I don't truly know anyone who I would consider normal. There are those who blend better with the crowd, but once you get to know them, you will find that they have some issue that distinguishes them from what most people would consider normal.
That is why I think it is so important to respect people. You have no way of knowing the full scope of where they come from, so you will never have their perspective. That is what makes it so important to listen.

Naughty Twi! twisted
srry, off topic warning
Hey, A friend of mine saw your picks as I was looking through my Facebook. She thinks you're hawt. LOL
Now, to try to steer the conversation back to the topic...
How many people do you know who believes that the world will more likely end in 2012? Has anyone studied Mayan mathematics and astrology or i-ching principles that much of the 2012 theory is based on?

Call Me Apple pantherdor I think the world ending in 2012 is just something to scare us. We breath too much into ancient texts as it is and usually get worked up over nothing. Look at Y2K. Personally I feel the world is going to end in 2035. Then again the world will end when it ends and will take us all in a great firey explosion. Either that or humans and other animals will adapt to the environment until the atomosphere leaves. Why 2035? Idk. Just seems a lot better than 2012. Gives us just a bit more time to live...don't you agree? That and one of my clairvoyant relatives told me.

-=Some Maya Information=-
The Maya have 2 Calendars: - Solar Calender (365 Days) -Ritual Calender (260 Days)
Every 52 years these 2 calenders align at the beginning to cycle again. This 52 year cycle brings with it the idea that every 52 years humanity undergoes a change of some sort (also possibly related to life expectancy among the Maya).
Knowledge advancement and technological advancement seem to have ground breaking discoveries every 50ish years that expand the realm of knowledge/technology (along with the life styles of those alive to experience it). This whole '2012 end of the world' idea is the culmination of many many many of these 52 year cycles. So, as the change of some sort is expected every 52 years... the change to be expected in 2012 (if you believe it) should be a very profound change indeed. I have heard some theories recently that discuss the possibility of some sort of psychic abilities being enhanced in humans, or a Divine Transcendence of some kind. And no matter if it is true or false, I like to believe something good will be the outcome rather then worrying myself about the world ending.
"If the day and night are such that you greet them with joy, and life emits a fragrance like flowers and sweet-scented herbs, is more elastic, more starry, more immortal, ... That is your success. All nature is your congratulation, and you have cause momentarily to bless yourself." - Henry David Thoreau
I believe something positive will happen, yet I see no reason to bet my life on it. hehe. Much Love. xox

I see a collapse of government in the U.S. possible other countries and natural disasters, but I do not see the total annihilation of the earth. That is still billions of years away.

He said there's, like, at least three other people exactly like me. I said no way in hell. I'm nowhere near normal, no one is. So how can people justify anything they consider normal. *shrugs* I don't understand his logic with the three other people like me. It's not like I am ever going to meet them.

I think too much sometimes. Not to promote this fear, but look up MK Ultra. They actually did do that. The result wasn't actual mind control, but allowed weakness to drugs and alcohol, weakness or resistance to torture or suggestions, and drugs to make people less able to think and more prone to be passive and follow orders. If slipped into the water supply, it would make most of the population dumb and passive.
