Kay watched Faris closely; this wasn't his friend, not one bit. This was some Faris-shaped alien that took over her admittedly very pretty self, and made her into some timid little thing. He waited for her explanation to something he apparently didn't understand...and once more he had to try and figure out where this train of thought came from. Seriously, this girl was a brick.
So, like a good friend, he swatted at the back of her thick skull. "I know one real good way to get the boys to see ya as a boy again, ya Brick." Kay taunted, nudging her with his elbow and making a general nuisance of himself to her. "But ya gotta win against me before I tell ya." He challenged, tossing her a volleyball that he'd found in the sand on an empty court.
"If yer still man enough to face me, I mean." He was really trying to get under her skin now, he wanted the other Faris back, once and for all!

She let out a low hiss as she grabbed the back of her head after he smacked it and in return her tail swept a bunch of sand at him with a small irritable growl. Kay was so stupid and mean and...She snapped out of her thoughts just in time to catch the volleyball in her hand and she hugged it a bit to her torso. Faris knew vaguely how to play volleyball just by watching others on the beach play and even got to join in on a game when she came here off and on by herself. "Tch, fine," she muttered softly as she glared at him and then stormed her way to the opposite side so she can start the game against Kay.
The Gargoyle spared no retort against him other than sticking out her tongue at him and making a soft 'n'yeeeh' sound. After a moment she settled into a stance, tossed up the ball and hit it toward the other side of the net.

The game started and they were evenly matched for a while; it was a nasty game of back and forth, both parties seeming determined to win. But, after Kay stumbled in the sand enough to cost him a point, the tense air seemed to dissolve a bit, and the rest of the game seemed more for fun as opposed to a serious attempt on the other's life.
When Kay missed the ball a second time he was wiped. He leaned forward with his hands on his knees, panting a little bit. God damnit, it was hot! Despite the calouses on his feet, they burned from the sand; and the volleyball game was quite the work out.
"Christ, slave driver, you win!" Kay said with a bit of a chuckle, rubbing his face with one hand. "Congrats, man."

She took a moment to make a victory pose after Kay went down the second time. After the first stumble that Kay made she became much more jovial than when the game first started out and she started to forget her troubles for a while which was a good thing she even did a girly hairflip without thinking much about it after she finished her posing and she padded her way to the other side of the net and knelt, "Looooooos'ah is you~," she teased cheerfully as she reached out and nudged at his arm with a fingertip before she offered him a hand up.
"C'monnn I buys ice cream for us," Faris said cheerfully, she was herself again for the most part.
She didn't seem to expect him to tell her any of the secrets and truth be told she forgot about the entire bet by this point.

Kay saved off her hand; he didn't need her help, all he needed to do was straighten up and he'd be fine. Though he did feel like an old man in thinking so; yes, I need help straightening up, I threw my back out! Oh no! He grinned at her, moving to kick the volleyball closer to the net for the next group of people who want to play.
"Sure, I don't mind free things." He chuckled, moving to trail after her. It was obvious that she was back to herself, and that was great; he recalled that he had something to tell her, but at this rate he didn't want to have to go through another volleyball game to cheer her up. He just didn't have it in him, and his feet were about to murder him where he stood.
"So, what else have you been up to?" Honestly, he didn't know what else to say at this point.

She let her hand fall back to her side and just smirked as he helped himself back onto his feet and what not. Faris stood and stretched her arms up over her head and her wings out behind her as she uttered a small content sigh afterward she peered after him, "Of course not~. Ladies never has to pays~!" she cooed at him cheerfully and started too lead the way toward the nearest ice cream vendor that set up a stall under a nice shady palm tree where the sand was cooler.
The Gargoyle paused a bit and chewed on her lip before she shrugged, "Noffin' jus' kindas getting used to stuff again," she said vaguely before she added, "an practicin' kung-fu art thingses, yis."

"That's true, but sometimes we men have to stick together, and look out for one another." Kay chuckled, shaking his head a bit. He was thankful for the shade, and that was obvious when he gave a sigh of happiness. His feet would let him live for a little while longer! Damn this hating shoes thing he had going on!
"Ah, I understand that. A little differently, but I get the gist of it, really." He stretched his arms above his head, ruffling his hand through his dreaded hair. "Growing up sucks sometimes, glad you're handling it pretty well though." His head tilted and he looked at the item list for the ice cream vendor. "I want a sundae."

She stuck her tongue at him as he danced around her teasing words and shifted her shoulders a bit, "I s'pose," she chattered idly and once they were at the vendor she stared up at the list as she listened to her friend talk of growing up. She gave a small nod in agreement that growing up did, indeed, suck quite a bit and only shifted her shoulders when it was observed that she was handling it pretty well. She could argue otherwise but she really didn't feel like revisiting those points.
"I waaaaaaaaaants chocolate ice cream cone, yis." The Vendor looked from one to the other and since the orders were simple enough they began to put the order. First he started with Kay's order and once that was done he started on Faris'.

Eventually Kay got his Sundae, and he poked at it with the spoon he was given. "Thank you, Faris." He said like a little robot, or at least a child being reminded of his manners. "Shall we sit, or are we doomed to stand in this heat?" Despite asking, he was already headed onto the grass to a shady bench; dear lord did he ever need it. Despite only wearing trunks, he was overheating!
"So...what now?"

She paid as promised and then smirked at Kay as he walked off despite his words, "Does nots matter cause Kay is already goin' to sit," she pointed out simply and moved to follow him and plopped down next to him. She felt warm so pleasantly warm she quietly started to eat her ice cream as she pondered Kay's next question. The tip of her tail twitched a bit.
"Coulds go do somethin' else?" Faris asked quietly with a small shrug. She wasn't ready to go home just yet she also wasn't ready to let Kay wander off either. She hadn't felt this ... normal since she had grown. She feared that if Kay left that the feeling would end and that she'd feel like an alien within her own body again.
