My alltime favorite movie is Old Boy. It's an awesome Korean action/suspense movie with one of those endings that catches you by surprise. I know a U.S. company bought the rights to it so it should be making its way around the U.S. soon.
From Japan Battle Royale is good (the second one is okay, the ending kinda kills it for me). Also, Ichi the Killer is really good but HIGHLY disturbing. Casshern is cool, and Dreamworks is releasing that in the states. I also liked Samurai Fiction, and aka-kage (Red Shadow).
If you want a really good Chinese film than you should watch Huo Zhe (To Live). As far as comedy goes anything by Stephen Chow is gold (Kung Fu Hustle, Shao Lin Soccer).
I liked What To Do In Case Of Fire (Wenn Brent, Was tun.... maybe, I can't remember....) and uh... dang I can't remember the name....
