Songbird lands directly in front of Central City Police Headquarters, and despite all of the onlookers she strode in. Immediately after entering, Songbird was challenged by several police officers, "Hold it right there!" The Thunderbolt folded her arms and spoke in annoyance through gritted teeth, "Alright, could one of you fine officers take me to whoever is in charge here. I think we've got a lot to talk about." The officers glance at each other, then from her right side Songbird sees Officer Tony Bellows approach. The officer happened to glance down and see that the heroine was tapping her foot impatiently. Looking back up, he could plainly see the scowl of Melissa Gold's face, "You're turning yourself in?" Melissa's eyes narrowed, "I simply came down to get everything straightened out." From beside Bellows, Mel saw Officer Murphy, "There several warrants for your..." Songbird rolled her eyes and interrupted Officer Murphy - leveling a vitually lethal gaze at the policeman, "All of which have been pardoned. Thank you," then Songbird turned back to Officer Bellows, "May I please see your superior?" Bellows noted a couple of his fellow officers tried to grab Songbird from behind and were both stopped by an invisible force field, "Ummmm.... Yeah. Sure. I'll take you straight to Lt. Garfield. If you'll follow me, Miss." Songbird gave a terse smile, "Thank you Officer. Please show the way." Bellows motioned to follow, and Songbird did with numerous policemen trailing.

Songbird was escorted back to the office of one Lt. Warren Garfield. When the herione entered the office with Officer Bellows, she saw a grizzled older man with a weathered face wearing a light blue button shirt and grey slacks.
Lt. Garfield's grey eyes scanned up and down Songbird's costumed form with an expression that said 'What in the world?' Scepticism filled the police lieutenant's voice, "Can I help you, Miss?"
Bellows offered, "Lt. Garfield, this young lady is the one that the APB was put out on, and she came in here claiming that she has a pardon and wanted to talk to you about it.
Great. More costumed freaks, Garfield thought to himself, "Alright. Is there a reason that no one has her in cuffs?"
Bellows responded by simply tapping the invisble force field. Lt Garfield saw the minor distortion in the field when Bellows tapped it.
Songbird stood staring at the police lieutenant, "Lt. Garfield. If you would be so kind and check my record, you'll see that I was issued a full pardon a couple of years ago. I don't understand why I'm going through this again."
Garfield sat reading Songbird's body language, and though over twenty years of experience told him that Songbird believed in what she was saying. Calmly, Warren pulled up the file and carefully examined Melissa Gold's file. Finally, he found the notation for the pardon issued. He also made sure that there weren't any more criminal charges against her and found none.
Lt. Garfield looked back up at Songbird and Bellows, "Miss Gold is correct. Her pardon is clearly stated in her file. Officer Bellows, the next time you or your partner look up a potential perp, make sure that they're actually wanted -- because I prefer to have egg in my sandwich, not on my face! Do you understand?!"
Bellows blanched under the Lieutenant's rebuke, "Yes sir."
Garfield was still glaring, "Dismissed."
Officer Bellows was off like a shot.
Lt. Garfield returned his steely gaze to Songbird, "Miss Gold, would you please sit down. I think you and I need to have a talk."

Suppai walked down the streets, looking at all the buildings. This was the first time she got to walk around without having to hurry and hide. She could finally see a city. Her problem now was that she had no money to really do anything.
She stopped and sat on a bench downtown, just to watch as people went by.

Lt. Garfield pointed at Songbird, "Look Missy. The last thing this city needs is some costumed vigilante running around. I had plenty of headaches with the Flash. I don't need auditions for another!"
Songbird held up her hands, "Hold on a moment, Lieutenant. I'm not pulling anything like the Punisher here. One, I came here to clear up this thing about that APB. Two, I do have experience in dealing with costumed criminals. While most are nutcases, they usually have 'specialized equipment' that the normal authorities can't handle."
Hooking her thumb toward herself while maintaining eye contact, "Yes, I used to be one of the bad guys. Through some help, I turned my life around. I do know how these guys think, and I'll help you apprehend him. I've worked with the authorities before. You can consult with S.H.I.E.L.D. Of course, your the one who's in charge, okay? I'm not some crazy living in my basement going 'I'm Batman' or anything like that. This is your show."
Lt. Garfield sat and listened to Melissa Gold's offer.

Suppai's stomach growled loudly as she sat on the bench. She looked down and placed her hands upon her tummy. "I need something to eat."
She looked around and walked off.

Suppai followed the electrical lines to the power plant. Using her illusions to turn invisible she flew over to one of the spires and started to drain some of the electricity causing some minor power fluctuations in the city.
She let go after about ten minutes when she flew back off the grounds and went back to looking like a normal blond woman.

Just then, the power at the police headquarters flickered again. After a few moments, it returned to normal.
Lt. Garfield simply nodded and said, "Alright, Miss Gold. You have a deal. But you stay in contact with me at all times, or I throw you in jail for obstuction. Got it?"
Songbird nodded, "It's a deal, Lt. Garfield. I'll key in to dispatch's frequency to make it easier to get a hold of each other."
Warren Garfield shook Melissa Gold's hand, "Fine, I hearby deputise you. Effective immediately."

Just a few moments after everything stablized at the station, a flood of calls swamped the police department about the newest set of power fluctuations. Lt. Garfield felt like this was going to be a long day.
The grizzled policeman picked up his office phone while holding up his hand. Songbird took the 'hold up' gesture for what it was and stayed put.
Lt. Garfield heard the other end pick up, "Mendez? This is Lt. Garfield. Can you see if you can locate the source of these power fluctuations?"
"We'll do, Lt. Garfield. I'm right on it."
Garfield responded, "Good. Keep me posted."

[Enter Jinx from Warehouses In San Francisco] While Songbird worked with the police to help track the power fluctuations, a young woman riding a red motorcycle with a yellow 'R' on a black field rode up to the edge of Central City. She stopped the bike and took off her helmet to stare at the green 'Welcome to Central City' sign. Staring at the sign in utter bafflement, Jinx cocks her head slightly to one side, "Huh? Central City? I was just in San Francisco about twenty minutes ago, and now I'm in Missouri!?!? What the?"

The majority of the day and evening became very long for Songbird. With the power outages, Lt. Garfield sent her with different police units to control looters. At this moment, Melissa was sitting in a patrol car eating with her 'favorite' policemen: Officers Murphy and Bellows.
Bellows, the younger officer, held up a sandwich in front of Songbird, "Corned beef?"
The Thunderbolt gratefully took the offered sandwich, "Thanks. How many looters do we have in custody now?"
Murphy answered, "Fifty-six. I swear this town is worse all the time."
Songbird half chuckled, "Try living in New York. So, do you think we're done with looters?" Mel bit into the sandwich.
Bellows chewed while he reponded, "I think so. L-T wants us posted for a while just ta be sure."
The white haired Murphy turned around to look at Songbird, "Go ahead and grab some zees after you eat that. We'll wake ya, if something happens."
Mel nodded as she chewed a bite.

Jinx was noticing the police sirens.... and decided she didn't want to be anywhere near it. She started the Robincycle again and took the bypass.

((Enter from Gotham Harbor))
Crystal walked through the portal, expecting to appear in the X-Mansion with the others and instead was in Central City. She looked around and blinked for a moment before screaming "DAMNIT!!", realizing that no one else was with her.
She tapped her foot and and pulled out a device from her pocket, pressing the button on it and then put it back in her pocket.
She walked off, heading for a cafe'.

Songbird leaned forward in her seat, "What was that?"
Bellows confirmed again with police dispatch, then replaced the receiver back on the radio, "They're sayin we've been invaded. There's a big scrap going on in New York and Gotham."
Songbird sat back stunned.
Officer Murphy stared forward grim-faced, "I knew somethin like this would happen. All with the whole world-merging..."
Bellows spoke again, "Well, Lt. Garfield called us all in, so let's get back to HQ."
Bellows started the police cruiser and began to drive.
