Uli noticed something strange in her expression when he told his father's story but he didn't dare to ask about it. He could guess enough without asking her any personal stories, and besides- he didn't really want to make her uncomfortable.
"At least you have the pride to protect you, no matter what the reason is for your rank and no matter how some might behave, we protect each other- and especially the slaves," he said brightly. The upper class could act however they wanted but they were still expected to accept the slaves and help to keep them safe. They could evict lions the Great Lion did not watch and protect but they didn't.

Mawu beamed proudly, sitting down for a moment, staring up at the sky. "I can understand why my brother joined this pride. Everything about it is just... I don't know... surreal... I feel so safe and secure here... and my child is with me always. I hope she finds herself a strong male to impress... I would love to be a grand mother some day! Haha!"
She looked over at him with a soft smile, her eyes serene behind her eyelids. "That was very noble of your father... in my opinion. I believe strongly in the power of love." She said, looking at her paws

Uli made a face when Mawu pointed out she could be a grandmother, it hadn't really crossed his mind though he knew of hr daughter and it probably should have. But then, his parents were grandparents and could be great-grandparents.. but none of them seemed in any hurry to have kids. Either way, it was weird. But he wasn't sure about commenting on it so he kept his mouth shut.
"Not everybody agrees with that but Alcmene is a fine ruler so I don't see there was any harm done," he said, shrugging and taking a seat as well, "I believe it, but I guess it's not so surprising with who my parents are. I think I'd do it, too."

Mawu listened to him and nodded her head. A wise father usually brought into the world wise sons. She looked sideways at him, a soft smile crossing her muzzle. What a smart lad he was, maybe someday her daughter would snag herself a fellow like him. She looked away.
"I should find Onalim and see how she is doing. I had a rather nice chat with you Uli. I wouldn't mind if we had another chat again sometime, since I will be visiting my daughter often.. if I can help it. " She chuckled, standing up and turning away from him.
"Hopefully I can meet your parents. They sound just as wonderful as you are! " she then turned and began to walk away

"OK, good luck finding her," he said brightly, staying where he was as she got up and got ready to go, "I'm sure you could find my parents easy enough, they're not real hard to pick out, even if I don't look like a real obvious mix of them." He grinned.
"Have a good night, Mawu," he called after her, watching her go.
