Suddenly, the young man realized he had spoken too loud. Brigands surrounded him. He glanced around, realizing he needed to lose his pack, and fast.
Damn... it took me weeks to get all these skins, he thought bitterly as he dropped the bag. This is a It began. He attacked the brigand right in front of him, causing all of them to attack at once...
He took them on with precision, ducking attacks and slicing heads. The brigands were far too slow with those big axes. Though the young man was more skilled at ranged combat, he could hold his own with his sword.
Once he had dispatched the immediate threat, he searched for his pack...
He realized he had attracted even more attention by fighting and decided to make a break for it. He began to head out of the village.
Damn... I wonder where that dragon went... If they hadn't come I might've... I might have what, fought a dragon in the middle of a battlefield? Well thanks to this I have to get more stuff to sell... More Brigands chased him as he tried to get out of the village.

xxxxx"Well maybe I'm weak... xxxxxxxand maybe I really am useless..." "But I will still fight on just the same!" xxxxx "Maybe one day I will no longer be invisible..."
"U-um..." Mihira started. "Yes, of course, but..." Mihira paused for a moment. She knew that the girl needed help, but she still knew nothing about this person. It could be a spy or something, for all she knew. She really didn't believe that, but had been taught to not assume to know who allies were. Naivety was one of Mihira's greatest weaknesses- or so she had been told. But the concerns could all be put to rest by simply asking. "Well, who are you? Where did you come from?"
Before there could be an answer, Mihira felt herself being forced to the ground. She let out a loud scream at the unexpected tackle and began to struggle. "Darius!!"
The wyvern heard the call and turned to see the bandit on top of his rider. He bellowed an angry roar, then chomped down upon the bandit and yanked him off. He screeched and dropped the man as he felt pain near his tail. The wyvern turned to see that one of the other bandits had sunk an axe into his tail. He retaliated by swinging it, knocking the bandits back.
Mihira got up and saw her wyvern's tail, then gasped. "Darius!" She ran over and knelt down at the tail, pressing against the wound. It hadn't gone terribly deep, but it still hurt the poor creature. It didn't take long for the scout's hands to become covered in wyvern blood. "I'm sorry, I'll get you healed, don't worry..." She reached over to a pack on the wyvern's side and pulled out some bandages, then began to wrap it around the wound, to try to temporarily stop the bleeding. When she was done, she looked over to the other girl with watery eyes. "I don't know who you are or why you're here, but this is a battlefield- you should leave while you still have the chance! It won't be long before more bandits show up... and I need to get Darius to a healer. I'll be okay."

It is said that as many days as there are in the whole journey, so many are the men and horses that stand along the road, each horse and man at the interval of a day’s journey; and these are stayed neither by snow nor rain nor heat nor darkness from accomplishing their appointed course with all speed.~Lorelei~
Lorelei stared, frozen as she saw the wyven roar, the rider yell and bandage the wound. Such a big animal, how sad... Cyrano shied, anxious to leave or move. Lorelei'd heed the young soldier's warning-- she took to the sky, feeling the sway of flight gait take her away.
Up in the cooler air, Lorlei could feel her gut grind. She didn't let go of the javelin-- she was... guilty. It was stupid to say the least-- what did she know of fighting? How would she help? It was ridiculous.
Even so, that young woman... reminded her of, well, her.
But it was time to move on, flee, get away from here and get on with her life. And the delivery, and her pay.
Reaching behind her, Lorelei began to count the letters in the bundle she'd tied. The wind whipped her hair in her eyes-- one, two, three...
No...
She'd been tasked to deliver a bundle of 30 letters.
There were 25.
Less than a whole delivery, and there would be no pay. Someone had her cargo. Lorelei flashed back to when she'd wrestled the bandits off of Cyrano when they took off... one of them must have...
Lorelei turned around so sharply her stomach flopped in her belly. The mail had to get through. She had to get paid. There was no point running away if she'd starve. And those poor people in Eyris who would never get their mail! It was wartime! What if one of them was really important?
She could see where the Wyvern rider was still downed, and began her descent down to meet her. From the air, she saw that another run of bandits was close.
"I can't leave yet!" she said desperately. "You have to get in the air! They're coming!"
Getting someplace safer was priority. Then, find that missing delivery.
After that, then, Lorelei could run away like she wanted to. But like all things in life, Lorelei had to work for what she wanted.

Liberty. Reason. Justice. Civility. Edification. Perfection.
MAIL.

Alex helped villagers run away from the attacking bandits. "Keep running," he yelled out as he pointed away from the bandits. He held his bow tightly in his right hand. "Man, I just happen to stay at a town that gets attacked by raiding bandits," he whispered to himself. Alex had stayed in the village for just a couple of hours to rest for the day and next thing he knows, bandits come attacking the village. Not only that, there are suddenly a group of wyverns that had come onto the village too. Luckily, they were helping the village and attacking the bandits. But from how he sees it, the battle isn't going that great for them. He sees wyverns being shot down by archers. Yup, today is a great day for him.
Alex looks back and sees a villager that was lagging behind the rest. Not only that, he sees a bandit running up to attack the villager. "DUCK!" he yelled out to the villager and he pulls out an arrow from his quiver. The villager saw Alex knock his bow and dropped to the ground. Alex let loose his arrow and it struck the bandit right in the neck as he was getting ready to swing his axe. The bandit dropped backwards and Alex ran up to the villager. "Can you stand?" he asked. The villager nodded. "Good, go run," he said calmly. The villager ran off. Alex looked around him. All the villagers around him have managed to run away safely.
Alex looked up into the sky and saw a HUGE wyvern in the sky. "DAMN!" he yelled out, "Is that really a wyvern!?" he asked himself. He looked around and saw a fence near a house. He ran and jumped onto the fence and then jumped onto the roof of the house adjacent to the fence. Alex looked at the enormous wyvern once again. "Oh, it's just a dragon," he said to himself feeling a bit relieved. "Wait a minute, What in blazes is a dragon doing here!?" he said to himself feeling discombobulated. What even got him even more confused was a person was riding on the dragon. "Damn, you do not see that everyday," he said to himself.
He shook his head and focused back onto the situation. He saw that they were flying somewhere. Alex turned and looked into the opposite direction. He ran across the roof and jumped onto another roof. He broke his fall with a roll. He saw some figures in the distance. "Not good," he whispered to himself as he saw archers getting ready to fire arrows at the wyverns. He had to help them. "Damn, I can't get a clear shot from here," he whispered to himself as he hopped across another roof.
Alex walked to the top of the roof as he pulled out an arrow from his quiver. He knelt down onto one knee and raised his bow. he closed his right eye and focused on his first target. He pulled back the bow with his left hand. He loosened the bow and it took out one of the archers. "One down," he whispered to himself as he pulled out another arrow. He strung his bow again. "Target number two," he said as he moved his bow slightly to the left, targeting the next archer. "Two down," he whispered as he let loose another arrow.

James
Take me home, to the land of my fathers...
A young boy in fine tailored clothing stood out starkly among the other prisoners taken by Jezebel's bandits. This was in part because he was dressed quite a lot better, although he was rather dirty from being tossed about by his captors, and in part because of the loud, high pitched, whiny shouts piercing the air. A grown man struggled, grunting and growling, to keep the boy's arms pinned with his own, holding him off the ground as the boy shouted and kicked his legs wildly, twisting his body to try and wrench his arms free.
"Let GO of me this instant!" he screamed, turning his head and sinking his teeth into the larger man's wrist. The bandit holding him howled in pain, then suddenly flung the boy away, and the youth rolled across the dirt, shouting in pain.
"Ah, ow ow," he muttered, starting to push himself up, and felt a foot come down on his back. "N-no! I... Don't...!"
He hoped he wouldn't be killed. Maybe they'd try to get a ransom. He was dressed nice, probably worth a pretty penny, right?
... On the other hand...
He really hoped Rogvald would save him soon.

Lend me your ear!
...Heed my words. ℜogvald xxxxxThe brainless fools! All of that boy's life had been spent in the small village of Tharis, away from danger, hidden from those who would like to see him harmed. It took a bloody war and a mishap brought on by sheer chance to allow attention to be brought to Tharis. Now it was overrun by both bandits and soldiers! That was not how things were supposed to go.
xxxxxA cloaked figure hide itself in an alleyway. An older man was hidden beneath the shadow-like cloth. He was hunched over as if the position was normal to be in. He remained quiet, oh so quiet, waiting for the danger to pass by. If the bandits captured him, then hope to save the boy was lost. And hope revolved around that boy in more ways than one. So the man waited, for just the right moment. The passers by became less and less bandits or screaming villagers and more and more Learanian soldiers. The old cloaked man scoffed at the sight of them. They brought more and more war to the small village. But, he knew that these soldiers would try to free the captives. The old man had to make sure that the boy was among the ones saved.
xxxxx The black cloak whooshed passed the sides of houses and other buildings. He remained unseen by anybody in some odd suppression of aura that could not be explained by a normal man. The old man followed the other fleeing villagers, hobbling along, though seemed to appear great distances ahead every time a body blocked sight of him for just a moment. He looked up from under his hood and saw the famous dragon lady of Learania herself- or so she was called by the fearful peoples. Seeing her at Tharis seemed both peculiar and fitting at once. The old man slowly hobbled over, a hunch still in his back, and stood before the fierce Guard Commander herself. "Dear woman, mighty and brave! Please help my boy- he has been captured by the bandits that have attacked us." Surely, she would need more than an old man's plea, so he thought of a way to make her more interested. "He is... a noble's child. On his mother's side." It was a partial lie. "Do not let them get away with this treachery! Have pity on this old man and do this for me."
xxxxxThe old man bowed before the woman. Under his hood, he smirked. The decrepit look that had been plastered upon him was erased. He was indeed a very peculiar old man. But all he wished was for the villagers to be saved, his boy in particular; a very reasonable request.
I advise you to listen. Not doing so could prove... deadly.

Mihira watched the pegasus rider fly off, smiled endearingly, then turned back to her wyvern. The bandages had stopped the blood loss, though it had seeped out some and completely stained the whiteness of the bandages as blood often does. The area was beginning to reek from all the blood and the bandit corpses. Mihira held her nose, but it didn't really help that much. The smell of a battlefield was something she just couldn't get used to.
She stroked Darius' tale and got to her feet. Her lance was quickly recovered and set upon the wyvern's saddle. Darius needed healing, Mihira couldn't twaddle. Right as she was about to mount and take off, she heard the call of a girl coming from above. Mihira turned to see the pegasus rider. "W-why are you-" When she heard the girl say that more bandits were coming, Mihira turned and saw them for herself. She leaped onto Darius and took off before the bandits reached her.
Once at a safe altitude, Mihira formed up with the other girl. "Thank you for the warning... but why did you come back? ...Who are you?" On the village outskirts, soldiers stood by their wyverns and acted as guards. One of the orders Vaida had given was that a squad would make a perimeter around the portion of the village that Learania was able to seize. That way, they could intercept any bandits from getting passed Tharis, as well as lead any citizens towards Commander Vaida. When the long-haired, scruffy man tried to flee, he eventually came upon the soldiers. "Halt!" one cried, as he held up his lance. The scruffy man had a sword in hand, so it was natural for the soldier to be cautious. The swordsman didn't look much like a bandit, but he also didn't look like a common villager. "Lower your weapon, and identify yourself!" One of the other soldiers of the three that were in that area raised his lance defensively as he looked passed the swordsman. "Bandits! They followed him!" The third soldier rushed a few steps forward with weapon at the ready. The first soldier growled at seeing them. "Whoever you are, if these bandits are your enemies, then either help us fight them or run to the east side of the village! Our commander is there and can keep you safe!" At the eastern end of the village, Vaida was rallying the soldiers she had with her to keep the citizens calm and as quiet as possible. It was her duty to keep them safe while the bandits were dealt with. Once everyone was safe, she would escort the ones that wished to leave to the capital and leave some soldiers at the village.
The last thing Vaida wanted to deal with was a nosy old man. But what do you know? One found her! And he talked to her as if she didn't know how to do her job? It was obvious that the villagers had to be saved. Vaida didn't need an annoying guardian or whoever that old man was to tell her that.
Still, the information that one of the citizens in danger was a noble was troubling. Vaida herself didn't give a damn about nobility, never did, not even when she was in Bern. They were ******** annoying. But she knew that if something happened to a noble's child, it would create problems back in Eyris. Whoever the kid's parents were would make a fuss and create trouble for all the crew, making it really hard to focus on the war. The nobles would want blood- hers, the crew's and all bandit's. Nobles really knew how to ******** things up, politically. It would just be a big mess.
Vaida sighed and rolled her eyes at the old loon. "You have my word, old man, that I will free all of the villagers. The bandits haven't killed any villagers yet, just my troops." She motioned for one of her soldiers to come and lead the cook away. "Now step back and let us work." The soldier led the man over to the rest of the villagers. Vaida sighed. She knew that she would be in a tight spot, if the bandits chose to use the captives as collateral.
One of the soldiers was grabbed and Vaida spoke quietly to him. "I'm going out to take charge of the situation. It looks like the battle is more in our favor, making it safe for me to leave the villagers in your care." Vaida released the soldier, then mounted Umbriel. The massive wings flapped several times, sending blasts of wind that disrupted the balance of nearby people. Soon enough, Umbriel was in the air, headed towards the west side of the village.

Ignis Draconis sum. Thema fabulae, thema apologi.c** igne sacrō, Flametongue, (prō amicīs pugnō) prō pace volō. Miliibus annīs supervivē, cicatricēs temporis possideō. Mirate corpus meum, pinnās meās, ignem meum! Fire Dragon Flying over the village to find more bandits with Victoria in tow, the pair eventually caught sight of a particularly large cluster of bandits mixed with groups of civilians – hostages. Seriously, this made dealing with bandits so much more difficult. Even if the Learanian forces could dispatch the Sentrian bandits, they could always threaten to kill the citizens to slant things in their favor. It really just complicated rescuing a village immensely.
And then Victoria mentioned that she had a Rescue staff, on her! That would certainly be one way of maneuvering civilians out of the clutches of these bandits, even if not a complete solution given the stave’s limited uses before breaking. Still, it was a start. But Victoria couldn’t just use it while she was atop FD. That would totally freak anyone out to be randomly transported from the ground to on top of a moving dragon! Plus, there were various aerial maneuvers he couldn’t make with someone along for the ride. He’d be a better attacker himself going solo. The dragon flew over more of the village before landing on another part of its outskirts to drop Victoria off, conveniently by a squad of wyvern riders from the Guard that would be able to defend Victoria and anyone she rescued with her staff. Bandits were already spilling out of the village towards this very area though, as if in pursuit. So the dragon went behind the perimeter the Vaida’s soldiers had made to let Victoria off. FD then untransformed to briefly exchange words with the Bishop. “I’ll try to distract the bandits with the hostages so you can use your Rescue staff. Best take care of these bandits first though,” he added, referring to those who were running towards the squadron of grounded wyvern riders. “Oh, and nice to see you again, as always, Sister Victoria” He hadn’t had the chance to greet the Bishop with words she’d be able to understand earlier.
With his final comment, he transformed back into his dragon form and went to help deal with the approaching bandits. The quicker they were dealt with, the quicker he could hurry back to where the bandits were holding the Tharis citizens.

I've been blessed with the gifts of the gifts of the Lady Saint, so show me some respect! It's not every day you find a rarity like me.₪Victoria₪ Victoria got the cues, and braced herself as FD was slowly shrinking into his human form, if only for a little while so she could jump onto the ground beside the wielder of the Flametongue. It was a much better idea to use her staff on the ground, now that she thought of it... people might just run off the back of a huge dragon in shock, if they were transported to one! She smiled and nodded when she saw the fiery one give her a verbal greeting at last, along with telling her a general plan.
"I rather like your plan, fiery one. Let's do this!" Victoria exclaimed, now relying on the cover that FD provided as he'd transformed once again within the blink of an eye. How did he transform so quickly... she'd never know, nor was that the kind of thing that she should be thinking about right now. There were civilians being held by the bandits, and it was time for the staff to do its masters bidding in bringing them closer to where these villagers would be safe.
Chanting the spell of the rescue staff, Victoria watched as it glowed a bright purple, lighting up the ground underneath one of the villagers and glowing a similar color near the Lady Bishop. In a flash, the person seemed to vanish, and then reappear next to to the Elimine bishop. She spoke kindly to the civilian, just to reassure them. "We've come from Learania to rescue all of you. I promise we'll get the others free of these villains!" she said, sounding as righteous as can be with just those words alone. The terrified citizen merely nodded, deciding to stay close to the Learanians as to avoid being captured once again.
Now, who was going to be next to be brought to the safety of the Learanian side of the battle? Victoria had to choose carefully, otherwise it would waste the limited staff uses that had no Hammerne to mend them. As she moved in closer, FD's flame still covering her, the holy bishop got a better view of those being rounded up by the enemy. One of them looked like he was dressed to be nobility! If he were killed, it would reflect terribly on the guild and the rest of Eyris. Now, if only that bandit would just get off him, he would be the next to be rescued. ΘжElmine's LightжΘ If you are my ally, fear not, for healing is on your way! If you're my enemy, you'll be purged, and dead you shall stay.

The young man put up his hands when the guards at the edge of the village stopped him. "I don't mean any trouble! Friend! Friend!" He turned his head and looked behind at the bandits behind him. "Not those guys, though."
"Whoever you are, if these bandits are your enemies, then either help us fight them or run to the east side of the village! Our commander is there and can keep you safe!"
He considered the offer from the soldier for a moment. His pride would not allow him to run for protection. Sheathing his sword, he moved toward the soldiers, slowly at first so they knew he was not an enemy. "I'll fight with you." He said with a grin. "You guys from Eyris? I was on my way there."
He drew his bow and whipped around to aim at the bandits.
For a moment, his concentration was shaken by the sight of the giant dragon flying overhead. Not now! Not now, later... You can find it later...
"Rahkain. Last name unimportant. I'll be useful... Killing stuff is my career." He gave a laugh as he released an arrow straight into the heart of one of the oncoming bandits.

The first soldier stammered as he listened to the stranger. The fellow was awfully calm when a fight was coming. "Y-yes, we're from Eyris! If we survive this, we can escort you back to the capital, safely." The man then spawned a bow from nothing! Amazing! The first soldier blinked, but nobody could see, because he wore a helmet and... yeah. Shut up. "Killing....?" he said quietly. Was this man a mercenary? Assassin? The soldier looked at the stranger's pack. Hunter, maybe? He seemed odd, possibly foreign. But at the moment, he was an ally. As the bandits got close enough, the first soldier side stepped an axe, then put a spear in the brigand's gut. The second soldier moved to stab a brigand when he got too close, but the brigand swung his axe and chopped the lance into two parts. The soldier gasped, then stepped back, now only having a wooden pole for a weapon. The third soldier stayed near the stranger to take care of any bandits that went for the man's back. The bandits were after him, after all. It made sense to protect him. xxxxxx"You foolish men who walk the earth like blasted kings!" x "I will collect my trophies soon."8===========================> xx J e z e b e l xx <===========================8 xxxxxNo matter how Jezebel looked at things, the actual battle in the streets was starting to turn sour for her. But still, she remained at ease as if nothing was wrong. More of her filthy man scum came back with villagers in their grasp and added hem to the collection. At the same time, more and more wyvern riders were breaking through and getting too close for comfort. Poisoned arrows were fired to ward them off, which was working for the time being, since it was only one or two.
A bratty voice broke the woman's concentration from the main battle. Jezebel turned to look at the boy after he had bitten one of the bandits. She chuckled at the little wimp and let the bandit do as he pleased. If he was going to kill the boy, she wouldn't stop him. The man moved in front of an archer and raised up his axe when a sudden thunk whipped right in front of Jezebel. The bandit was taken by surprise and couldn't even make a proper cry of pain. He dropped the axe away from the kid and fell backwards. Jezebel looked at him to see an arrow in his neck.
Her eyes widened a bit, she hadn't expected some sharpshooter to come at them. Whoever it was wasted no time in firing again, as another arrow zipped through, taking out an archer. "Okay yeah, I'm not sure I'm okay with this. I'm putting a stop to this before all my archers are taken out!" Jezebel quickly snatched the boy and held him up, her left arm under the boy's arms and going across his chest. She held him in front of her, using him as a shield. She didn't expect the kid to just let her hold him, but before his whining could escalate, she held up her poleaxe with her other hand and held the edge of the blade up to the kid's throat. "Be quiet and still for me, 'kay? Otherwise, my grip might slip, and you'll be lacking a head."
Jezebel turned, then called out to where the arrows had come from. "Fire again and I start killing villagers, sharpshooter! And I'll be starting with this kid!" She smirked, knowing that the arrows would stop. However, a sense of victory was short-lived, as a light shined into the corner of the berserker's right eye. Jezebel glanced over to see one of the villagers vanish from the group. At first Jezebel was speechless, but then understood what had just happened. She looked up and saw that the over sized wyvern with the holy rider was gone. That meant the stave user was on the ground and rescue staves would work.
A bunch of the brigands around Jezebel began freaking out saying things such as 'They're taking our captives from us from a distance!' and 'What do we do?! Pretty soon, they'll have them all!' Jezebel rolled her eyes at their stupidity. "Shut up, you idiots!" she yelled to them. "Yeah, they're taking our captives. But they can only take three at most! So get it together! We've got a hell of a lot more than three, here. If I didn't want any taken, I would have had you stop the holy twit from using that stave. Honestly, you act as if they have the leverage. These are prissy Learanians; they hold true to their stupid morals and value every ******** life as they dance in their happy sunshine! They won't sacrifice the lives of these villagers."
Elsewhere, bandits were racing towards where the dragon had landed. They spotted the Learanian soldiers as well as the bishop and charged towards them. When one of the men transformed into a giant dragon, the bandits halted for a moment. Eventually their numbers gave them the courage to continue charging. Most focused on the dragon. They threw hand axes, fired poison arrows and most importantly they practiced ducking out of the ******** way from the dragon's counter attacks. Other bandits of that group rushed at the Learanian soldiers, who were blocking the bandits from getting to the bishop.
Would the holy woman continue to use a rescue stave and bring a captive over to that fighting, where he or she could easily get killed by bandits? Or would she put the stave away and help the soldiers fend off those bandits, possibly saving the soldier's lives? There was a chance to save another villager, like she had promised to do. But she could also try to save the soldiers from the numbers of the brigands- but by doing that, would that be breaking her promise? Who knows if there would be any more chances at saving the villagers if she focused on fighting. It was a test of the woman's character, for sure.
"Your wangs shall be a fine addition to the others!"xxxx

The leader of the brigands called out to him with a warning. "Damn it." He lowered his bow. "Almost took down another one of them," he said to himself. Alex couldn't risk the live of the villagers. And by the looks of that boy and his clothing, he looked like a noble. The leader knew what she was doing and reacted quickly. Couldn't take any chances, he had to stop firing.
There was nothing else he could do where he was at. What he had needed was a closer shot. The archer returned the arrow to his quiver. He ran down the roof and jumped off, landing in the streets. Quickly, he ran down the streets.
The cries of bandits was heard and Alex quickly stopped against a wall. What's this? The sound of what seems to be a battle was heard. He pulled out an arrow and got ready to fire just in case it was needed. he peered out of the side of the wall and was surprised by a man's transformation into a dragon. He also spotted a bishop along with a couple of soldiers.
Today was a day full of surprises. That's what he said to himself as he tightened the bandanna around his head. He really wondered what else is going to happen today. He removed such thoughts from his head as he concentrated for what he was about to do. "Alright," he said to himself as he moved out from the side of the wall and stood with his bow ready.
He closed his right eye and aimed for one of the bandits charging at the soldiers and the bishop. It seemed they would need more help than the dragon, in his opinion. He fired his arrow and it his the bandit in the neck, causing it to suddenly fall on the ground. The sudden arrow surprised the bandits and the soldiers.
Alex had a little grin on his face. "Third kill today," he whispered to himself as he drew another arrow.

Ignis Draconis sum. Thema fabulae, thema apologi.c** igne sacrō, Flametongue, (prō amicīs pugnō) prō pace volō. Miliibus annīs supervivē, cicatricēs temporis possideō. Mirate corpus meum, pinnās meās, ignem meum! Fire Dragon FD really wanted to fire a burst of Flametongue at these damned bandits – it would take care of them quickly. But noooo; everyone had to be right on the edge of Tharis so if the dragon did fire at them, he’d be dagaming the very village they were all supposed to be protecting. He wanted to make ashes out of these brigands, damnit! At the very least, the majority of the bandits had their attention on FD rather than the soldiers. How many enemies were there, anyway?
FD swiped at any stupid enough to get within range of his claws, which whittled their numbers somewhat, but the bandits tried to refrain from getting in his range to begin with, lobbing hand axes and arrows at him rather than charging directly. The hand axes were largely negligible, presumably making that ‘tink’ sound you hear in actual Fire Emblem games that comes along with a ‘NO DAMAGE!’ message. If they wanted to pierce his scales, they’d need a really strong fighter to get really close with a really strong axe. FD thought the arrows would be negligible too, although they often stood in place where they landed on his body. But although the impact of the arrows was akin to that of a paper cut on a person, mostly harmless, the poison the arrows had been dipped in successfully made its way into the dragon’s system – not that FD realized it at that very moment.
Rather, his attention was focused on taking out the bandits attacking from a distance. Perpendicularly positioned in contrast to the soldiers defending Victoria, the villager she’d just teleported, and the guy who lured all the bandits in this direction in the first place, FD moved forward, mowing down anyone who failed to escape his path quickly enough with his claws. After he’d gone far enough, he turned around, ready to repeat the process. But he then suddenly didn’t feel so swell. The poison was starting to make itself known to the dragon, travelling further throughout his body. Still, he had to continue fighting. They had a job to do! He hadn't yet realized it was poison from the arrows that was affecting him yet, anyway.

I've been blessed with the gifts of the gifts of the Lady Saint, so show me some respect! It's not every day you find a rarity like me.₪Victoria₪ A lot of things were happening rather quickly. For one, the bandit's leader was not so incompetent as to ignore the direction of Victoria's plans, and made sure that her subordinates came rushing so that it would disrupt the casting of the Rescue spell. Putting the staff away, the bishop quickly opened her Divine tome, casting the light spell with a rather sharp tongue when she cast it on an unsuspecting brigand. "What did they think I was, a defenseless holy person without a weapon?" she thought as she dodged the sword of an oncoming mercenary.
Victoria found that trying to fall behind the lines of defense wasn't going to be an effective move, as the defenses were going down quite quickly. It was a frightening sight, how these bandits rushed forward like battle-crazed berserkers, taking all whom stood against them by surprise. There was no time almost, to react to them. If Victoria hoped to rescue any more civilians, she'd have to keep herself alive against these fierce enemies first.
"Face your judgment." she muttered in a rather brutal tone of voice, lighting off a critical blow against the earlier mercenary, smiting him with the power of light before he even had a chance to jump into the air with that large Iron Blade. There were going to be many more after that, so Victoria kept her wits about her, looking in all directions for any potential dangers. She too didn't realize that FD was enduring poison... nor did she notice the slight glow of her Restore staff. Its calling was too weak as of now for her to notice that it wanted to be used. ΘжElmine's LightжΘ If you are my ally, fear not, for healing is on your way! If you're my enemy, you'll be purged, and dead you shall stay.

xxxxxx"You foolish men who walk the earth like blasted kings!" x "I will collect my trophies soon."8===========================> xx J e z e b e l xx <===========================8 xxxxx So, the bishop chose to stop trying to rescue the villagers. It was the best choice for her situation, but it also meant that she would have to break her promise. The mercenary (an oddity amongst the bandits, where the ******** did he come from?) that managed to get passed the guards rose his blade at the holy woman. She may have thought the bandits were ruthless, but she clearly didn't see herself. The corpse that her spell left behind was utterly recognizable. So much for people of the cloth being honest and spreading love. There's a difference between incapacitating an enemy and completely destroying it. How disgraceful.
Two more slipped passed the guards and went for the holy woman, but hey, you've got to give these guards props for holding back as many as they really were. One brigand bellowed loudly to draw the bishop's attention and charged at her. At the same time, a smaller fellow, a much shadier and quiet man drew his knives and lunged at the woman from behind. The knife was headed for the side that the rescue stave was on. The thief aimed to gut her, but one can never account for sudden movements. Maybe he would just get away with shattering the tip of the stave.
The dragon was what was keeping most of the bandits busy. Because, uh, duh, it took up most of the area. There wasn't really much of a place where the bandits could hide to get out of the way of the massive claws. The bodies of those who couldn't get away were literally torn in half, or even multiple pieces. Soon, blood covered every inch of those claws.
Some of the archers by the dragon ran into nearby houses and began to keep firing from the windows. Flames protruded from the beast's body, but it hadn't actually breathed any, like legends said dragons did. They figured they'd be much safer inside a structure. They would have given up, but the thought of running back to Jezebel like weaklings was almost scarier than the dragon. They kept firing, hoping they could pierce between the scales and hopefully get the poison in. It would take a lot to bring down that red monstrosity.
"Your wangs shall be a fine addition to the others!"xxxx xxxxx"If you're worried about surviving, xxxxxxxyou can worry about it after you're dead!" "The wyvern riders of Bern sit atop the heap of all other forces on the continent!" xxxxx "You will see our power soon!"
The wyvern riders were all over the place, dealing with scattered bandits throughout the village. Some were still transporting villagers back to their side of the village. But in the main street, more bandits were coming down, most likely to back up the ones fighting against the dragon. The wyvern riders weren't close enough to help the archer who had run out into the open.
Several of the brigands laughed grossly as they ran towards the boy. But then a shadow appeared overhead. They looked up and suddenly didn't seem too happy anymore. They tried to run, but the massive black wyvern dropped in front of the archer. It landed on top of the slowest bandit, then grabbed one with its jaws and clawed another. Its fierce rider took a spear and stuck it down into the back of another.
More bandits were coming, but there was time for momentary exchange of words. Commander Vaida looked over to where the fire dragon and the cluster of bandits were, then turned to face the archer. "You there! You wish to fight these bandits? Go help them, then come back here!" She looked back to the oncoming bandits then back to the archer. "Quickly!" she added with a fiery glare.
