So they weren’t going to make it easy for me, huh," Viscen laughed as reports came rushing in that a couple of Learanian squads were attempting to flood in the broken gates. He clenched his fist then pumped it into the air. "All right! Show them this city’s ours. They ain’t getting s**t back!" The young warrior couldn’t hold back his excitement. This was a perfect opportunity to prove himself to Drake. He would give the heads of the stupid commanders who dared to try to reclaim Pentheus to the trueblade as trophies.
The loud explosions may have caught them off guard at first, but the bandits quickly recovered. They retaliated with brutal force. Most of the bandit group split up in order to stop the pesky enemy. On the front lines burly axmen and swift swordsmen cut down as many soldiers trying to leak through they could. From the behind the fighting, mages and sages casted fire and thunder magic on those managing to make it into the city. In each of the four guard towers, one on both sides of the two gates, there were three archers and one sage. From the gate guard towers archers released volleys of arrows onto the slower charging units. The four sages acted as defense for the bowmen by using wind spells to alter the course of weapons aimed for the delicate archers.
Scattered across the city a few rogue bandits were pillaging the remains of shops. The talking laguz outside one particular building caught the attention of a group of brigands. Looks like they didn’t kill all of the locals like they had thought. No time like the present to finish the job. Suddenly they exploded out of the surrounding windows with their axes in mid-swing.
As for the Mirage Falcon, Viscen waited in the middle of Pentheus. If these idiotic Learaneans were worth his strength, he would meet them in epic battle. ▀-.-.▀▀-.-▀▀▀-.▀▀▀▀-▀▀▀▀-▀▀▀▀-.▀▀▀-.-▀▀-.-.▀ ۞ -.-. you can't ħєℓp your ħαℓℓucιηα†ιηg мιηđ -.-. ۞ you can't ħєℓp your ħαℓℓucιηα†ιηg мιηđ when you start to †яємЬℓє in the scσяcħιηg ωιηđ ((Blarg. They both ducked from the detonation, both she and her driver. Even though they were practically at the very back of the Learanian force, it still seemed as though those hot blasts still reached them with their explosive force, threatening to topple rubble on top of any foolish enough to wander too near. The woman raised her eyes to view what came of the explosion and saw that it had gouged out a hole large enough for the soldiers to invade. Underneath her black hood, her cherry eyes glinted with resolve.
"Ah, good sir!" she called to the man driving the cart, "Take us into the battle!"
Well, the man was appalled. His eyes were round with fear and his hands tightened visibly on the reins, and even his horse seemed a bit spooked from the notion of clattering into battle. "Are yeh crazy, m'lady?! Yer a fortune teller and me a driver! We ain't fightin' material! We go out there, we goes to die!"
"Never mind that," said Ash dismissively. "Just stay in the back. I only mean to be support." From her dark robes, the fortune teller drew a finely embellished tome in bright leather and gold bindings. She smiled when she spotted the man's look of utter amazement. "Well, what are you waiting for? Get in there. I'll pay you more than you could ever dream of, good sir."
The man spluttered at first, and then he regained his senses. "W-well, yeh gonna have to pay—er, triple—nay, five times the normal, m'lady!"
"Five times it is."
"B-bwah?!"

As Rajin ran down the street, he caught the scent of the beorc nearby. He didn't see any beorc in the street; only the ruins and the corpses. So where were they? He couldn't tell if the beorc were survivors or the troublemakers of this city. However, he wasn't planning to stay here and investigate.
"Yo, be careful." Rajin cried out to the other laguz, who followed him. "I smelled beorc near-"
Crashes were heard as the beorc jumped out of the windows, carrying weapons in their hands. Rajin cursed. Looked like trouble had already found and surrounded them. Damnit, and he was still carrying a precious item too.
Rajin held the handle tightly as he gave a high kick in the face when the bandit jumped out. His ears twitched when he heard the sound of a axe swinging. He dodged to the left to avoid the axeman's swing. The knapsack received a rip, but not near enough to break the vase.
Damnit! That was close. Rajin thought when he heard a tear. The tiger couldn't fight properly without having the artifact to be stolen or broken. And he couldn't transform in his other form without trying to be reckless with the item on his back. Damn, what was he going to do? It wasn't like he could ask them to wait while he'd place the vase in a safe place or walk away. Those humans were trying to kill him. It looked like he had to rely on this other laguz to do the shredding.
"Hey, think you can cover my back?" Rajin asked the laguz, watching the bandits in front of him. It looked like the tiger would have to fight it in beorc style, street fight. But would the artifact be able to survive this fight? Well, if it didn't, then these dirty bastards would get a full wrath of the tiger.

Whew...so this guy was an ally. That would help, a lot. Maybe he had some idea why the town was such a mess when it wasn't just a few days ago. From what he could see...no wings, so not a bird Laguz. There did seem to be a tail though (or so he thought. He wasn't at all sure if that was a tail, since the writer doesn't know if Rajin stashes his tail in his clothes or not), so probably a Beast Laguz.
...Until he heard the other Laguz's question. Didn't seem like he knew either. Sunil shook his head.
"No...I don't know what happened either. Sorry." he told the figure.
The larger Laguz then suggested they get out of here, and Sunil nodded. "Lead the way."
They had covered some distance, but there was still too many explosions, too many scents. It was making the cat delirious, but only a little. However, he was able to pick up on some Beorc nearby and was going to warn the other Laguz about it, but it seems like he was beaten to it.
But before the other could even finish, bandits broke out from the windows near them. The cat jumped back, but it was already starting to look bad. He sidestepped an axe before resting his foot on the shaft of the weapon to deliver a palm strike to the chin of the attacker.
He heard the other laguz ask if he could cover his back. "We'll be surrounded at this rate! But yeah...I'll cover your back if you got mine!" Sunil said, his back towards the other Laguz as he neared Rajin. He sidestepped again before he delivered a round kick to the side of the beorc's head, no doubt dealing some damage to the jaw.
The mission? Kick a** and take names...without transforming or getting the herbs in his bag damaged or destroyed. Tough, but hey...two Laguz versus a bunch of idiot Beorc bandits. If they could just hold out a bit longer...he could transform.

John had slowly began to charge into the port city. He didn't want to go in too fast because he was an archer after all and couldn't do too much up in the front. He pulled off his bow and took an arrow out of his quiver and put knocked it and aimed for a bandit on the wall. He drew back and sent the arrow flying right into the bandits neck. John began to pick up the pace as he was the last to enter the city. Amidst the chaos he climbed up onto the roof of a house and thought to himself, "From here I should be able to snipe out bandits from a distance." He knocked another arrow onto his bow and aimed it for next archer he saw on the roof. He let the arrow fly just a little too late as the archer had seen him as well and let an arrow loose at him. The arrow penetrated his left leg.

Let the moonlight sign post shine through the clouds to me ____and show me which road to take ______No matter how close to breaking I am today.... I'll re-awaken the distant memory of that day______ So don't forget, keep it carved in your heart. -Ephraim- The explosion shook the lancer just a bit when it had occured. Their way of entering seemed to be exploding the gates by whatever means neccessary...it worked...Ephraim had to say. Actually, the gate wasn't at all destroyed, but the impact was big enough for whatever mechanic held it together to allow them to pass through. Ephraim raised his left hand to pull down the hood he had on, leaving his right hand to reach for his spear as he prepared to fight as Deborah had ordered. Take out the bandits in the city, that should be easy enough. Or so the lancer would think. He stopped, skidding across the dirt a bit and came close to being hit by a thunder spell had he not took a step back right when the crackling pierced the air. Ephraim looked up and charged once more, this time to a swordsman coming after him. Ducking past him, the lance in Ephraim's hand flipped over to the end and with one swing did he knock the coming swordsman down before the spear was flipped once more and the blade came down and stabbed the bandit from behind. Hm? Axe users? Well that can't be good. The lancer himself didn't really stand a chance against a majority of them, however, these were nothing more then meer bandits we were talking about. They couldn't aim properly even if they had the proper eye sight. Nothing too threatening, Ephraim thought as he pulled his arm back, thrusting his spear head into the over sized man's chest. He stopped, pulling his spear out and stepped over him toward a measily archer that can't nock an arrow fast enough to save their life. Ephraim swung at a angle, breaking the weak iron bow. Before the archer even had a chance to react, the lancer spun, right leg raised and kicked the poor boy on the chest, knocking him back through a window. ((Its a bit on the meh side .-. )) ________ So don't give up, don't stop being strong in life __________Even when you're so sad that you can't go on The wind will blow on us_________ Who worried and walked together___ no matter where we go

Since the battle with Zephiel, time went by relatively quickly. It was only a matter of time before Zeiss went off on a job to deliver some supplies to some villages, then come back. He did manage to deliver the packages, then get out of there. Only problem was, after coming over some mountains, he found himself...
"What the? I have been around...yet I don't recall a city being here before." Yes...he found himself close to a war zone, and what was worse was there was a lot of battle going on...and he had no idea which side was an ally or not.
Well, may as well get out of the sky, and closer to the ground to see who was fighting who...keeping a javelin and a steel lance ready, Zeiss started his descent slowly, to avoid arrows, and any other flying objects to be sent at him. With any luck he could find a straight path into Pentheus easily.

Ganon, out of respect and a desire to be of assistance, had joined Deborah's group in Eyris. He lashed his tail and wrapped the tip around a heavy cane lying in the road, and began to use some empty barrels nearby as makeshift toms and metal waste cans for cymbals as he ripped into the Chorale for War on his guitar, eye closed as he concentrated on the intricate rhythms. He stood among a cluster of soldiers, using the song to imbue his allies with enormous strength and speed.
Unfortunately, despite the great aid it gave to his allies, Ganon could not defend himself with this song; he was relying on his friends to keep him protected. Strong and hardy though he was, by bardic standards, he wore no armor, and scales will do very little when confronted with sharp, sharp steel.Needles, meanwhile, led her troops deeper into Pentheus, taking several groups of bandits by surprise as they came in to investigate the explosion at the gate. Because I'm lazy and don't feel like writing a whole post when Needles has no PCs to interact with.

The explosion had sent the spy crashing to the side. He had not expected to be able to escape the force of such a blast. As he was sent off his course, he turned and then rolled with the crash, to not break or crack a bone. He was lucky enough to not hit a tree. If he had, his efforts would have been worthless. As Crow crept back to his feet, he paused to allow his senses to return. Nobody could simply get up and run around after being tossed by a blast. The air was filled with the smell of fire and a smell that the spy could only distinguish as the scent of ignited power. The dizziness began to fade, allowing the spy to see what had come of the gate. The shouts had remained the same, sound would not help him. As he looked, he saw that his plan had worked and the Learanian army had entered into Pentheus. His main task was finished. He could act on his own. Crow darted to the gate and gave a preliminary overlook of the battle. In the streets, things were well covered. However, there was danger from up above that Learania was having trouble reaching. The bandits had taken to the towers. Crow could help with that. Immediately, the spy took off. Somehow, he was spotted by a bandit and a chase began. Even though Crow could easily lose him, it was better to dispose of him, so that he did not alert others of his presence. Crow paused and let the bandit catch up to him, then began to dance around the bandit. He ran around in circles, leading the bandit to whirl about in confusion until the ignoramus began to just swing his axe recklessly with no clear target. Once the brigand calmed down and began to look for where his foe had gone, he suddenly felt a great pain in his back. He staggered forward and fell to the ground, blood leaking from a stab in his back. Crow put his stained dagger back inside his cloak, then continued on. He reached a barrel and jumped upon it. From there, he leaped to a higher place until he was able to get to the highest place he could get to, a roof of a building. It was close enough and high enough for Crow to proceed. He pulled out a roll of thin rope from his belt that had weighted hooks on the end. He held one end in one hand and began to twirl the hooked end in another. He twirled for a while and then tossed it up toward the side of the tower. It hooked onto an extending pole of wood near the window. Crow firmly held onto the end he still hand, then leaped off of the roof. He raised his feet to his front, to hit against the side of the tower and then began to scour upward toward the opening. Once Crow reached the top of his line, he listened for a moment, then leaped forward, dagger at the ready and caught the archer by surprise. His dagger hit the bow upward, ruining the shot and was followed by a knee to the archer's face. The archer fell back in shock, alerting the other archer that something was wrong. By then, Crow had already plunged his other dagger into his gut. The other archer got up and began to pull out a knife, but Crow gave him no time to act. Before the knife could be drawn, the spy charged towards him and forced him out of the window. Just then, an arrow hit the stone edging of the window, chipping it. Crow ducked inside, quickly. Apparently, the other tower had seen the archer fall to his death. Crow peered around the corner as he pulled out one of his throwing knives. The archer fired an arrow, which missed as Crow moved his head back in, then dashed across the opening, tossing his knife along the way. The knife soared straight to the opening of the other tower, hitting the archer's throat. The archer backed up, flailing, and knocked his companion out of the other window, before falling down dead. Crow peered out to see it transpire, then began to ponder his next move to take out the rest of the bandits in the other towers. His throw was lucky. He had excellent aim, but could he pull off a throw like that again? Certainly not. Well, probably not. In any case, that was two towers taken care of. That would surely help the forces on the ground.

Rei spoke not a word as he moved alongside Deborah's group. They were led by a melee unit, so they'd likely need a bit more healing support, even with any skill she may have. Needles, the archer, struck Rei as the type more likely to attack entirely from afar. But, no matter, they'd rout the enemies without any difficulty, regardless.
The Druid couldn't help but laugh as he saw the gate that was keeping them out explode. He waited a brief moment, allowing a few others to rush in first, before filing in after them. The armored ones would be better suited to dealing with any surprise attacks, anyway. Rei groaned as he saw brigands meet soldiers, and began to think of a way to help that wouldn't involve friendly fire. As the little cogs began to turn, Rei saw an alleyway between two buildings and quickly darted down it. It was sure to lead somewhere helpful and, even if it didn't, he'd probably run into the enemy.
The Druid rounded the corner of a building, spotting a simple thief with a brown cloak covering most of his body. Pillaging in the middle of a war? The guy could have been doing so much more with his skills. A quick Flux from Rei was more than enough to reduce the man to a few destroyed pieces of what looked like a human. He walked over, picking up whatever it was that the man had stolen: some kind of simple pendant, by the looks of it. It had to belong to one of the villagers or something...
As Rei kept walking, rather slowly to make as little noise as possible, the thought dawned on him that he actually had no idea where any of the villagers were, if they were even alive, or if they were refugees. The Druid heard the faint sound of music echoing through the air. It had to be a bard or something like that, but Rei didn't know that many bards aside from Nils and what he'd heard was some kind of lizard man.
Moments later, Rei emerged from an alleyway somewhat close to where he'd entered the town. He took a step back, retreating into the shadows a little, before he began to chant a spell. Almost immediately after the incantation finished, red and blue runes appeared on the ground very close to a group of enemy mages and sages that were raining magic upon the group he'd entered with. The ones that noticed it were too slow to do anything productive and, as streams of energy rapidly merged from the air to the ground, many were enveloped in a powerful explosion of magic that left a small cloud of black fog in its wake. The Druid wasn't sure if he killed them all, but he had to have at least made a nice dent.
Rei was entirely aware that the spell could easily set the enemy into a state of disarray, what with a hidden caster and all, so he decided to be prepared for anyone that might come looking. In one hand was the Verrine tome, opened near the middle to a fresh page, loaded with arcane energy, and in the other was the Fortify staff, ready and waiting to automatically heal any wound inflicted on the Druid, and most likely restore an entire city's worth of allied fighters to prime fighting condition. But, he'd only actually use it if things started going badly, something that he doubted would even have a chance to happen as he cautiously left the alleyway and began walking along a building's edge towards what was likely a plaza or something. The rest of Deborah's group would probably catch up to him in a good few minutes, assuming they could get past whatever bandits were attacking them...

Getting close to the ground was easy...figuring out who was an ally and who wasn't? Not so easy. Mainly due to the fact that he had no idea where he was, and who any of these people were realyy. That was the main thing. The other was...well no idea actually. Just seemed strange to be in a completely odd area here.
So, looking at the town, something came to him as odd...though one thing became clear quickly. The gate blew up, and those on the inside were those that resembled brigands...so that cleared one thing up. Those in the city were the main enemies.
Many things were easy to see though, since he never did land on the ground. Archers were falling from towers...that was a good sign to get over the gates and help an assault. Well hopefully these people won't attack me.
All right so over the walls Zeiss would go. There didn't seem to be any problems since most the archers were taken care of, and with his javelins he could pick off the last of them close to his area. The plan seemed easy...though there is the fact that no one would notice a wyvern coming over the walls with someone on its back. Well hadn't thought about that...oh well no time to back down now.
Ok distractions done, Zeiss started for the wall...yes on his wyvern...keeping a glance towards the towers to ensure he could move away from any archer's range. Once I get over I should be able to do something to help...and who knows? I may...hang on an explosion of magic...
Well, so much for staying focused...the magic blast caught his attention well...there was only a couple of people he knew that could produce something like that. All right I am sure that short druid is here...what was his name again? Rei or something like that. Now there seemed to be an objective Zeiss had. Find out where the magic had come form.

"Surrounded? Heh." Rajin chuckled a little. "Let's see how long they can keep us surrounded."
Sure the tiger was becoming a little cocky about the situation he and the other were in. Rajin knew well that the vase was holding him up from attacking these bastards full force. But what could he do if the item was fragile and valuable?
He was expecting to see the smaller laguz attacked these bandits in his other form; but apparently the smaller one didn't. Was the little one weak? Or was he tired from running? Rajin wasn't sure, but he knew one thing. These bastards were going to get a beating of their lifetime.
Rajin secured his knapsack on his back as he watched the bandit charging toward him. He took two steps back and sidestepped as the axe user swung his axe down before giving him the punch. His ear twitched again when he heard movement on the side.
The tiger quickly ducked down when the bandit gave a high swing attack and gave a low house round kick to swipe the bandit's feet off. Once the bandit fell on his back, Rajin got up, raised his leg, and slammed his heel down at the bandit's stomach. A sudden scream of pain was heard was the bandit rolled himself up, tears streaming down the face. It would take a long time before the bandit could get up and attack.
Rajin turned his attention to the left and saw the bandit coming after him. He took another step back to dodge the bandit when he heard another movement from behind him.
s**t! Rajin thought. He thought that laguz was going to watch his back. However, it seemed that the little guy was busy dealing with the bandits like himself. The bandit in front of him continued charging forward.
"Damnit!" Rajin growled as he dodged the bandit's swing before grabbing onto the arm and punched the bandit at the jaw of the face. He could heard the jaw cracking from the punch. Before Rajin could let go of the bandit, the other behind him swung his axe.
The tiger quickly shoved the bandit before trying to jump out of the axe user's attack. However, he wasn't quick enough to dodge. He heard the tearing and the cracking behind his back as well as the tug pulling him down.
Rajin stumbled forward before straightened himself up and looked behind. His eyes grew large. Behind his back, he saw a huge tear on his knapsack. The weight behind his back had becoming heavy on the bottom. A piece of ceramic felt out from his knapsack and broke into even more pieces as it hit the ground.
No.... No, no, no, no. This couldn't be happening. That could not just happened. It had to be his imagination. But when he pulled the knapsack from his back and looked, it told him that it really did happen.
Anger started to flood down his veins when his hands shook the knapsack. He let out a low growl before looking up at the one who damaged the artifact. His fangs was showing out as he dropped the knapsack.
"You stupid human..." Rajin growled lowly before he took off his cloak and ran toward the bandit. As he gotten closed, he pounced. "That's a 75,000 gold vase you've just broken!"
The bandit was ready to strike Rajin down with his axe. But there was a sudden flash of light when the bandit was about to swing. The axe user covered his eyes to block the light. Once the light was gone, the bandit looked up to see a black tiger coming toward him.
The bandit screamed in fear and surprise of seeing the beast in the city. The axe user tried to defend himself, but he was taken down when the tiger landed on him and felt the teeth sank into his neck. The tiger shook the neck hard. There was a sound of bone cracking being heard. The bandit gave a little jerk before laying dead.
The bandits that were nearby were also surprised to see a tiger. And here they thought the two were just ordinary citizens that they had forgotten to kill. They weren't sure if the other one was the same as the tiger.
Rajin let go of the corpse's neck and turned his attention at the bandits. There was anger in his eyes as he let out a angry growl.
You knew what happened when breaking fragile items. You broke it, you paid it. Since the bandits' little buddy had broken an artifact, they would have to pay for it with their lives.

Oujay stumbled a bit from the explosion. He almost dropped his sword and quickly grabbed for it. "Now is not the time to be clumsy," he thought to himself as he regained his footing. Oujay followed Deborah's group. As they rushed in closer to the explosion at the gate, he got a little distracted as he looked at the fortified walls. He shook his head as he realized he was getting distracted yet again. "Come on Oujay, focus focus," he thought.
They reached the gate and Oujay looked at the damage the explosion had caused. It had not fully destroyed the gate, but it had destroyed enough of it to allow soldiers to charge in. Oujay waited for some soldiers to charge in first before he rushed into the battlefield. He firmly gripped his sword and took a deep breath before he charged through the gate into the battlefield.
Immediately as he entered the city he was attacked a bandit. Luckily the bandit was using an axe and the swing was slow enough for him to react. Oujay side stepped dodging and ran up to the bandit wide open for an attack. He jumped and kneed the guy right in the face knocking him back. He didn't allow any time for the bandit to react as he got his sword ready for a stab. Oujay landed in front of the bandit with his sword through his stomach. The bandit quickly fell to it's death and he fell down to his knees. He pulled out his sword and turned around to see another bandit charging at him.
Luckily for Oujay, it was another axe users and they were easily at a disadvantage against a sword user. However he knew better than to take it easy in battle. He brought up his sword and prepared for a counterattack. The bandit swung his axe down at Oujay, leaving himself wide open. The bandits weren't too bright as they relied just on brute force. Oujay quickly charged under the bandit as he brought down his axe. He stabbed his sword into the chest of the bandit and kicked him away as he pulled his sword out of him.
As Oujay looked down he saw a flaming circle forming around him. "Oh crap," he said as he jumped back. Fire erupted rfom the ground where he was a few seconds ago. Oujay had barely dodged a mage's elfire. "Great, mages," he said to himself. He was not too fond of fighting them since they had distance as the upper hand. He saw the mage standing in the distance with a tome open looking right at him. "Found you," he said as he quickly pushed off his feet and started charging at the mage.
Oujay looked to the side and saw a bandit charging at him, as he was charging the mage. He gripped his sword with two hands and then skid to a stop as he swung his sword. The bandit was running too fast to dodge the swing and Oujay got a clean got onto the side of the bandit. The bandit veered off course and fell inside a barrel. Oujay twirled his sword and looked back in the direction of the mage. "Great, he got away," he said as the mage was now out of his sight.

Two of the four towers were taken down by the spy as well as those in the streets defeated. While the bandits tried to push the troops out of the city, the mage bandit slipped out of the battle. The said bandit ran as fast as possible to give the news to Viscen.
When the bandit reached the center of the city and informed the Warrior, Viscen frowned. This wasn’t going well. Drake would not be pleased to hear that they’re losing their control of the city. It looked like he had to call for reinforcement if he wanted to keep the city in their control. If he wanted to get on Drake’s good side, then he had to hold up the control until reinforcement arrived. “Barsch, I want you to go back to Sentria and call for reinforcement.” Viscen ordered the mage. “Tell Drake we’re going to hold the city as long as possible for them to arrive. Now, move!” The mage straddled back a little before giving a nod and ran the opposite site of the city. Once the mage was out of sight, Viscen turned to his subordinates.“Well,” Viscen smiled deviously at his comrades. “What are you waiting for? Let’s kick their asses out of our city!” Bandits cheered with the Warrior as they ran toward the battle. While most of the melee units ran toward the streets where the battle was, others went inside the buildings and climbed up to the rooftop. As the bandits reached the top of the rooftops, they quickly picked up heavy debris and threw it at their opponents. The fighters and swordsmen ran forth in the front line. Mages and archers cast their weapons in the back while others attacked from the windows.
