Creighton was playing a dangerous game, if only he knew. Amaravati took the collar of his shirt, and drew him real close. "Oh you want me to cut you some slack?" she drawled, practically purring the words. "Just what kind of slack, hmm? Are we talking a lot of slack here, or just a little?" Then her expression went from downright provocative to serious in a moment. "Don't play games with me, love. Not right now. We're on the job. When the job's over... well. But it's not over. Got it?" She released him, and turned back toward the dorms again, as straight backed as a soldier. %*#@, she was a soldier, when it came right down to it.

"Breaks are for when we're off-duty-- wait, what?" He knew Khalla? Knew of Khalla? "Wait, she's dating the TA, and she has the %#$&#xin;g gall to make a fuss when I have a bit of tail I want to take home?" Oh no she didn't. Amara's eyes flashed irritably at that. Khalla did not approve of her choice in men (or women, if it came to that), and made a point of mentioning such. ... On more than one occasion, even. "Oh that is it. That girl is getting a talking to when I see her next," she spat, marching as swiftly as she could toward the dormitory.

Right. No more Miss Nice Girl. "Eh. Do you have anything against roof walking?" she asked. "That's my preference. I don't especially like wandering the streets, and by the time we get out there, it's going to be dusk at least. We should be in the clear for making our way through downtown." She'd trained that way, and nothing could quite shake that part of her loose. Amara was in some ways like a jungle cat, hiding up in rocky overhangs, and the branches of large trees. It was like that, except her trees and rocks were buildings. She would be $%#@ed if she was going to keep to the "rules" she and Khalla had made (mostly Khalla, because Amara couldn't care less about not taking men home) if Khalla was seeing someone.

O...kay?

This was new. This was, in fact, entirely new, and it was probably due to that, that Creighton was caught entirely off-guard when Amara grabbed his shirt and pulled him up close. Whatever he'd been thinking effectively shattered in favor of considering they were now rather close, and .... her face was right there. Rather than hear what she was saying, the boy blinked several times, "Uhm," a pause, "You know, while this a great way to catch my attention, it's probably not the best way to start off a patrol," another pause, and he really couldn't believe he was saying this, "I was actually being innocent for once, hot damn. If Id known I'd be getting that sort of responses, I'd have started long ago," a third pause, "You're kinda close," the last was said flat toned, as if stating the obvious.

When he was released, he stumbled back a couple of paces and shot her a look that seemed torn between confusion and amusement. Well, she certainly had his full attention now, that was for sure. Despite her words, he didn't seem all that threatened, or otherwise scared of her; in fact, he brushed his shirt off a bit, as if to help take away the ripples her grip had caused and swiftly turned to catch up with her. He figured he's ask about that invitation later. That was a hint he wasn't about to let pass.

He snorted slightly, "Well, if it helps, she's got him tightly wrapped around 'er lil finger. I wonder what she's done to him to manage that. The guy's as stiff as a board," okay then, so maybe the patrol wasn't all THAT bad - he was actually more amused than he'd been in a long time. Something told him the actual patrol later wouldn't be half bad either; she seemed to mean business and seemed to know what she was doing, unlike other lieutenants he'd met up with. Points for her, "Nope! I really like roofs. It's fun to drop on people from above. Also usually knocks them out pretty good. Helps with my weapon - it's pretty useless for the most part; the height gives me an advantage," after a moment, he turned towards her, "Where exactly is your dorm? And won't they make a fuss if you take me in there?" not like he cared, but if they were planning on stealth, the Hillworth uniform wasn't exactly awesome for that.

"You say that now, Creighton, but I think you're thinking something else." Amara was well aware of how men worked. Creighton was pretty obvious, as far as she was concerned, and she kind of liked it. It meant that she didn't have to beat around the $%#@ing bush where he was concerned, and that made her like him just a little. She liked to be blunt when she could be. Almost brutally blunt, in point of fact. When she was being sneaky, that was another thing, but right now, she wanted to make things blindingly clear between them. ... If she could use her feminine wiles to her advantage here, she was bloody well going to.

She laughed low in her throat, amused at his protests. "Oh you were being innocent were you? And I'm to believe that?" Maybe he was being innocent, but it didn't matter. Now she knew that he could be manipulated like that, if it became an issue. Not all Negaverse officers could be, sadly. ... Not that she would've tried to manipulate a superior, but he wasn't. "I didn't notice that I was close," she said with the laughter still in her voice. "What with you being maybe a couple inches away, and all. That didn't seem close." Not one bit.

"Ask me if I care if they make a fuss," Amaravati said, clipping along at a fair pace. "We'll be there soon, if we maintain our current speed." She did not elaborate on where her dorm was, because he would be seeing it soon enough. It seemed like a waste of time to let him know beforehand. "Good, then we'll be set just as soon as we're powered up. I don't wander the streets like some people." It just wasn't smart. For one thing, the humans could see you, and she didn't want them to get the drop on her. The point was to get the drop on them. The advantage was almost always in her court when she managed that, and that was all to the good.

"Well, geez, now I sure as hell am!" still, despite the protest, he didn't look wounded or even particularly upset over it. In fact, if anything, he still looked bemused, though that was probably because this was pretty damned new, "It's not my fault that everyone I've been up against was innocent like a lamb. s**t I say around Serah goes woosh over the top of her head. And let's not get into the other girls I've met so far," a pause and a snort followed his words, "Well, yeah. I was, and had I know it had that sort of effect on people, I'd have really honestly started long ago. You calling me a liar?"

Well, if anything, it was interesting. He'd not yet been in a situation where he didn't want to bash his head into a wall, where it concerned sharing time with another person. At least here (despite what she might've thought), he felt like they were on equal footing; if she wanted to keep on playing dominant, then hey, he had no problem just following along, because at least she was making it all interesting. He wished he could say the same about half the rest of the negaverse. Not to mention the rest of the world. He'd begun to wonder they'd all lost their sense of humor.

Shrugging off her later words, Creighton motioned up ahead, "Well, didn't figure you'd care about it THAT way. Was more concerned that it'd bring attention to us, seeing as how you're going for stealth here," he didn't particularly have a problem with powering up in a damn alley, but hey, her dorm room was fine too. What the ******** ever! He could work with this. He arched a brow at her, looking at her out the corner of an eye; he'd wandered the streets, though granted, he'd done it when he was new and feeling like he was utterly invincible. That had not gone down so well, and he'd since decided it was best to stick to stealth, even if he wasn't exactly a good ninja; he figured it had something to do with the fact he was one of those punch first, ask later sort of guys.

At least that also made the situations more interesting too, he figure. Rock on.

And there she was, grinning like the god#$*@ed Chesire Cat again. "Oh I'll just bet you are." Now this, this was a fun game. Amaravati approved of this game. It was awfully nice to deal with someone who would play back, and wouldn't start getting bitter at her just because she was teasing them. It wasn't as though he hadn't been a pain himself, but he seemed to be getting a bit better. She appreciated that, truly. "What's that they say, that when someone says something, you automatically think of it? I think I like that." Definitely. She definitely liked that she could encourage him to think that way.

It didn't mean she was going to continue to do so, but well... for now she'd have her fun. "If they ask who you are, I'll say you're my boyfriend, or my cousin or something. ... Although cousin isn't all that believable." Creighton didn't look a lot like Amara. 'Course, that maybe was a good thing, but hey. "Or maybe I'll say that you're there to help me move some furniture around in my room." Whatever she said they'd probably believe. Amara was %*#@ably good at keeping her cool when lying to people. She didn't like it, but she pulled it off rather well.

"Maybe I am calling you a liar... maybe I'm not," she said mysteriously, grinning. "But either way, we're here." He wouldn't bring attention to them. She was an adult by their standards, and they weren't super inclined to make a terrible fuss about anyone she decided to have come visiting. Maybe the cousin route or the furniture mover route would be less likely to cause raised eyebrows, though. If she'd been anyone else, she might've tried walking the streets, but she liked to be stealthy. As stealthy as a relatively clumsy young woman could be, at any rate. She wasn't exactly a swan, or anything, but she also wasn't an elephant.

He was looking at her again, still bemused, "I thought the whole point of this conversation was that it was counter productive to be thinking about this before a patrol?" not like he minded that much. So long she didn't make it a habit of grabbing his shirt and bringing him up close - that could be a problem, where missions were concerned anyhow. Had this been any other place and possibly any other time, he'd have upped the stakes a notch (because oh god, when was he ever going to get an opportunity like this again?). As it was however, he merely shrugged off her words again, taking the time to brush his uniform off one last time before looking forward.

The building that greeted them looked nothing like the one that housed the Hillworth students, that was for sure, "Uhh... yeah, no. I don't think the cousin deal's gonna roll," he also didn't think the boyfriend thing was the best idea ever - maybe if he'd been wearing something else, but as it was, claiming she was going out with a Hillworth student was just asking for trouble. On any other occasion he'd have been fine with it, but in all honesty, he didn't want to have to face hell if he EVER chose to come back here (which he would in a heartbeat if allowed), "Ehhhh, hopefully no one'll notice us sneak past."

He followed her to and into the building, allowing her to guide him through the hallways that lead to her (And Khalla's, he figured - he was still having trouble getting over the irony of this) apartment, "You," he told her finally, "Are a tease. And that is totally not fair. You're totally a step ahead here," a pause as he looked over her shoulder and into the room, "Khalla's not there, I gather?" he'd never really met the girl, but it almost felt like he knew her, in some ways. Just some minor ways, anyhow. Then after another pause (he just couldn't help himself, he promised he tried - he really, really did), "Is your kitten here?"

"Yes... it is counter productive, to an extent. On the way to my dorm, however, I think we might as well entertain ourselves. Call me inconsistent, but I'm kind of enjoying chatting with someone who isn't thin skinned." It seemed that Creighton had a reasonably thick skin, actually. Amaravati honestly was enjoying that. He was a lot easier to play with than any of the other blokes she knew, and if she were to be honest... a lot more fun. The only person she'd teased like this before was a teacher, and well, that wasn't kosher as far as Crystal was concerned. Assuming she gave a %*#& about Crystal's concerns.

Contemplatively, she considered how best to explain Creighton's presence in her room. "If it comes up, I'll make up some tale or another. They'll believe me-- mostly because they don't care all that much." They cared when it came too sweet innocent girls that needed protecting, but Amara had a foul mouth on her, and she was no innocent. Not by their standards anyway. "I doubt anyone will notice." He had long hair... oh wait, there was that Hillworth uniform. That was slightly inconvenient. ... Eh. She had a bad reputation anyway, why not roll with it?

When she let him into her room, she gave him a little smirk. "I might be a tease, but at least I am entertaining," she countered, quirking a finger at him. "So c'mere. We need to get ready to go before too long... but first..." Amara walked into the room, and scooped up a little Egyptian Mau. "This is Classy. She's my baby, and she's a little love. Real sweet, but kind of sassy. That suites me, though." The kitten was an attention whore, really. An absolute $%@# for any and every bit of attention anyone might feel like throwing at her. She particularly liked to jump up in Amara's lap when the girl was trying to do her homework.

A snort was released at her words, "Inconsistent? Nahhhh... it's more like a rollercoaster ride. That's cool. Rock on, man," he apparently approved, but then again, that was probably because she was still making it interesting, wasn't yelling at him, and was actually being considerably nice company. He could totally deal with this and he would have raised quite a bit less of a fuss over the whole idea of patrolling with her if he'd have been able to see into the future a few days back.

Maybe he should thank Rohan later. After punching him in the face for telling her about the animals and what they did to him. Yeah that could work. Punch and thanks, "If they don't notice, they're blind as bats. Not that I'm complaining," in fact, this was quite possibly, the longest he'd been paired with someone where he wasn't complaining or bitching about it. In his defense though, this was much more interesting than any assignment he'd been set up with, "I don't think they'd say anything anyhow - pretty harmless looking here, with my arm in a cast," plus, there was also the fact he was short, which usually played in his advantage in that people generally underestimated him. He didn't have the brawn others seemed to have, but he had the speed; he could have been a lot more dangerous if he had set his mind to it. Alas, he wasn't exactly the brightest star in the heavens and got easily distracted by s**t - he'd never been a thinker, much preferring to the whole 'going with what you feel'.

Oh, she was entertaining alright. The arched-browed look he offered her pretty much voiced that he wasn't going to negate that any time soon. He moved forward as soon as she beckoned him to, which was probably amusing from an onlooker's point of view, and watched as she stepped further into the room. Despite coming forward, he'd actually taken the moment to power up, and when she turned to face him, he was in his lieutenant suit, holding what pretty much looked like a plastic jack-o-lantern. No sooner did she pick up the cat though, that he allowed the pumpkin to fall on the ground and walked the last few remaining steps, "They say pets resemble their owners. Give 'er here?" the 'please' was absent in words, but it was still there in the tone of voice.

It amused Amaravati that Creighton was more than half a foot shorter than her. She chose not to mention it, because she didn't think he'd much care for it, but it amused her. "A rollercoaster ride, hmm? So now I'm a ride, eh?" That was funny. Not what he meant, surely, but funny. She liked that. If he kept this up, he'd definitely be in her good graces to stay. It wasn't often that she ran into someone close to her own age who was also interested in curvy women. She reached out, and handed Classy to him, not bothering to chide him for that missing please. They were in a bit of a rush after all.

"You have a point, there. I suppose they won't make much of a fuss because of your arm," she mused, considering his words. She took the time to power up, not even bothering to hide from him. What was the point? He was right there, and he'd know her identity either way. Pitchfork firmly in hand, she reached down and straightened her uniform, letting it settle more elegantly across her body. ... It was the shawl in particular she was worried about. The $%*# thing liked to slip around, and that was a bit of a pain. She reached up and removed her earrings, tucking them away somewhere.

Earrings were a liability. Glancing over, she noticed that Classy was purring in his arms, and that amused the %$^# out of her. "... You know, my cat is pretty picky. She does like attention from everyone, but she doesn't purr at just anyone." To date, Classy purred at Amara, Sue, and Khalla. No one else, not even her parents. "Should I take that as a compliment, Lieutenant Kremersite? Or were you thinking more of an insult?" Legs slightly apart to keep her stance steady, she surveyed the room, looking for any sign that Khalla had recently been by. "When you're finished adoring my cat, we can go."
PostPosted: Tue Jun 29, 2010 11:01 am

Creighton arched a brow at her. Yes, again; he was doing a lot of that tonight, though he figured he could get used to it if came accompanied by such words and amusing situations, "Ehhhh... totally not what I meant. Opening a dangerous door there," but he still wasn't complaining, plus, the cat in his arms was pretty much purring up a storm, and he was having trouble dividing his attention between both females. Mostly because whenever he'd been around a cat, or puppy, or ********, even a stupid squirrel, he'd never felt the need to tear his attention away from the creature in order to focus it on another human being.

His gaze had been on the cat as she spoke, and when he finally turned to look at her, he was mildly bemused to see her powered up, "Okay, that get up is cool. I very much approve," except he wasn't entirely sure how fighting worked when one was wearing a skirt. Had to be better than a senshi skirt at least though - he'd seen some terribly revealing get ups, and he'd always wondered who the hell had designed most of those damned suits. It had to have been a guy. There was just no other explanation; he'd always thought fighting in a miniskirt was counter productive (even if from his point of view it was enjoyable - hey if they were going to kick his a**, he'd rather have a nice view, all things considered).

"I get along with animals," he told her as he placed the cat on the floor after giving her a scratch behind her ears, "Humans? Not so much. Lord knows why. I'm charming," there was a mocking tone in his voice as he knelt down to grab hold of the pumpkin in his healthy arm, "Fine, I'm done adoring your cat. You may lead the way then; you probably know your way from here much better than I do," plus, he'd never been all that good with directions; he'd get lost in the damned mall, but then that had to do with the fact he wasn't really used to paying attention where he was going.

All roads lead to Rome. Or something like that. After a moment, he spoke again, "Compliment," he didn't give a great many of those.

Donning the uniform always put Ametrine into a more business frame of mind. That they'd been on a mission up til now was sort of immaterial, though it had led her to be less wild along the way. "Classy, stay put." With that, she led Kremersite out of her bedroom, and closed the door behind them. It was all business all the time now, though if he was really good, maybe she'd tease just a little. Maybe. Unlikely, but there was a slim possibility. Injured ankle or no injured ankle, she was %*#@ good at skulking around, and it was with those skills that she employed now.

She led him as quickly as she could do the buildings that she usually used as her own personal walkway, and vaulted up on top of one. "Let's do this," she said, gesturing for him to follow her. She'd had enough practice now that her landings were fairly soft, and if she hadn't spoken, it was possible that no one would've seen her at all. As it was, she didn't stand out all that much from the sky, with dark purple and orange that faded rather nicely into the twilight. "Thank you, by the way. I like it pretty well myself." But now was not the time for compliments, or returned compliments.

Now was the time to look for senshi. It was amazing that in all of her time hunting she'd never encountered a lot of them. They didn't look up so much, she guessed. That was their problem. Anyone smart knew that you had to look up sometimes. Otherwise, you were buggered. Good of him to grant her permission to lead the way. She scoffed silently, of the opinion that very little indeed would have kept her from it. No, Ametrine was definitely the kind of girl who took the initiative. Crouching low to the rooftop, she edged along, scoping out the territory below. They'd find someone tonight, if they could... and sure felt sure that if they did, they'd be able to take them. Assuming it wasn't one of those overpowered senshi with the fancy bows.
PostPosted: Tue Jun 29, 2010 11:02 am

As she slipped into business mode, Kremersite shrugged a bit and decided to follow along. She'd not disappointed him yet, so he very much doubted she would start now; he was content with simply following along, for the time being. While it was true he wasn't nearly as good at the whole roof thing as she was, he was still fast and agile (it came with his physique, he figured - he traded brawn and strength for speed and agility). It also helped that her ankle was injured, because it was allowing him to keep up with little to no trouble despite the unfamiliarity of the situation on a whole.

When she spoke, he offered her a silent smirk and then went back to surveying his surroundings. The sooner this was done and over with, the sooner he could go back to more interesting ordeals. That aside... he'd always rather enjoyed the hunt, so long no guardian cats were involved. Unlike his partner, he really wouldn't have minded an overpowered senshi; that just made the situation all the more interesting.

At the end of the day, it didn't matter whom he fought. The victory was only half the fun - getting there was what was really thrilling, and the stronger the opponent, the more interesting things were, right?

Right. He was set on having an interesting night, and what Kremersite wanted, Kremersite usually got..
