[Self Roleplay]
Tayne chewed on the end of the pencil she had been writing with, sitting in one of the overstuffed bean-bag chairs that the book store provided.
She didn't get the job she applied for here, but she still found the atmosphere to be quite pleasant. It was a nice change of scenery from the public library.
She had left her lantern back in her living quarters, knowing full well that the owners wouldn't be fond of a girl scaring away all their customers by talking to an inanimate object.
She peered into her notebook again, looking at a page with multiple scratchmarks and scribbles all over it. Pleased with what words could be seen, she picked it up and was about to rewrite it when something caught her attention.
"Uh... excuse me miss..." She turned her head to see an older man dressed in buisness attire. She tilted her head.
"Yes?" The man looked down at his feet.
"I... I'm a man who works for a publishing company. It's my job to find ideas for authors to write about..." he began.
"Oh? I never heard of that before...." she replied, mostly to herself. "But why are you telling me this?"
"Well, I hate to admit it, but I was reading over your shoulder at your notebook... and I'd like to purchase your idea..." Tayne blinked at him, confused.
"Purchase?"
"Oh yes! The idea of creatures manifesting from normal household objects is so... original. Of course the author might choose something other than a lantern, but still!"
"Okay..." she wasn't to sure about this.
"Here... I'll give you a $500 payment, and you'll get 25% of the profits when the book is published..." he said as he pulled out his checkbook.
Tayne pondered for a moment. Was this some sort of trick?
Well, either way, she was going to get at least $500 out of it.
"Sure, why not?"
She planned on donating at least half to the lantern shop.
After all, it was their idea first.

[Self Roleplay]
Tayne flicked on the lights of the shed as she opened the door. There were no windows in there, at least not yet. Kirk did say that when the weather got better he would help her put a window in.
She could have just moved into the large house with him and his wife, but that was a step that she wasn't ready to take just yet.
The silver-blue lantern glowed slightly brighter at her return, then dimmed back down to it's soft, almost gloomy glow. In Tayne's hand was a teapot that sloshed around with each step.
"Sorry that took so long" she said without hesitance to her little light. Ever since meeting Kaze, she had been practicing talking to people, or in her case her paper light. "Renee wouldn't let me just get some water. She loves to talk, especially that I am willing to talk back to an extent." Closing and locking the door with her free hand, she moved over to her mini karosene stove and placed the teapot on one of the burners. She then turned the little black dial to make it ignite...
But it was the wrong one.
Her hand was on the second burner, and when it lit up, so did her hand. It became a fist of flame, and poor panicing Tayne didn't know what to do. Grabbing the teapot she dumped the water onto the fire, which made it stop at first, but as soon as the water stopped flowing the fire came back, brighter then ever.
"Oh crap!" she cried as she began waving her hand frantically, hopping that would make it go out. It didn't. "Out out out! Stop it!"
And just like that, the fire went out.
Tayne looked at her hand. "No burns... good..." she panted slightly. She then looked at her lantern and smiled.
"Third time this week. I gotta be more carefull, eh?

Mizu_Taji The shop seemed quiet, almost deserted. That would have been alright any other time Tayne had visited, but she now wished to speak with one of the shop owners to let them know about her lantern that she had puchased a few weeked ago. Clinging to her hand was a little purple-ish gray girl only about 3 feet in height, her eyes gazing around with timid curiousity. Making sure not to let go of Tayne's hand, Mikomi allowed her eyes to wander. This place seemed so interesting, so full of wonder. And it felt like she had been here before.
"Mama? What are we doing here?" she asked, peering up at her adopted parent.Hakari-chan ((hey rown! join in!)) Toshi, hearing the bell on the front door ring, stuck her head out from behind the door that led to the back of the shop, where all the inner workings of Soul Emporium were carried out. She spotted a woman and a small female spirit and her face instantly lit up into a bright smile, while the lanturn at her side literally did, lighting the area with a gentle magenta light. "Hi! Welcome to Soul Emporium!" Said the older, more powerful female spirit as she stepped out from behind the door.Mizu_Taji ((yes ro-chan! join our legions oof roleplay!)) Mikomi, caught off gaurd by Toshi's chipper greeting, nearly fell over if Tayne hadn't kept a good grip on her hand. After regaining her balance she ran behind Tayne's legs, peering around them to try to get a good look at the girl.Tayne chuckled lightly at Mikomi's reaction, only because just a few days ago she would have reacted the same way. With the new addition to her family however, she felt a little more confident with people she did not know. "Hello there miss. I'm Tayne, and this little one is Mikomi." Hakari-chan "I know." Toshi said with a mischevious grin. "What can I help you with, miss Tayne?" she asked the woman, walking forward a bit, gently glowing black metal and glass lanturn glowing gently as it swung from the belt around her waist. She extended that smile down to the shy mikomi, trying to make her feel welcome. Mizu_Taji Blinking at the girl's answer, Mikomi tilted her head. She knew? How did she know her? She tried to smile back, the girl seemed nice enough, but her face wouldn't comply.
"He...hello...""I just thought I would bring Mikomi back to the place where I found her, maybe make some new friends..." she said, though wondering if it was a good idea. Mikomi didn't seem to be enjoying herself. "Also I wanted one of the shop keepers to know that she had manifested out of her lantern state." Hakari-chan "I'll let Sinn know then." she said with a nodd. "My keeper, Hakari is out of town though. She went back home for awhile." She said, something in her voice made Hakari's home seem very far away. "She's gone to see her family for the first time in a few years." The girl explained. "Though if you really want I can go get Sinn and you can tell him about Mikomi yourself." She said obligingly. Mizu_Taji "Sinn?" Tayne mused, the name sounded familiar. Wasn't that the name of the man who found her in the snow that fateful night? It WOULD be nice to see him again, but yet again, he might not want to be disturbed at this moment in time... "If he doesn't mind, I would like to speak to him again, though don't bother him if he's busy. Mikomi shifted out from the protection of Tayne's legs, curiousity taking more control over her action then her timid nature.
"Wha..what's you're name?" she asked, then thought for a moment. "And where is Miss Hakari's family?"Hakari-chan Toshi smiled and nodded, she stuck her head back behind the door and yelled "Sinn! Customer to see you!!" someone apparently answered her, more quietly for sure, because the girl pulled back and said "He'll be just a sec." Toshi turned to the smaller spirit and smiled "My names Toshi! And Hakari's family lives waaaaaaaay to the south up in a city in the mountains." she said with a mystical wave of her hand. "You can only get into the airspace around those mountains at certain times of the year, and there happens to be a window open later this week, meaning she should get there if she flies fast as she can." The girl said with a nodd. She forgot to mention that no planes flew that far south, so how Hakari managed to fly there remained a mystery.

[Self Roleplay]
"How are you doing Mikomi?" asked the violet-locked femme as she shoved her soaking mop into the bucket filled with the concotion of water and cleaning solution. As she lifted the handle up and down to rinse off the remaining dirt particles she looked over to see the little light attempting to weild a feather duster.
The girl responded with a hearty sneeze as Tayne began ringing out the water from the mop. "That'll do. It looks better in here all ready. It'll be fun living in here instead of that small shed, don'tcha think?"
The room they were cleaning was indeed not the shed, it was much larger and the walls were a pale eggshell white. There was also a window, a nice change from her living conditions before.
And she had Mikomi to thank for it.
The day after Mikomi's manifestation Tayne had went up and talked to the Sandersons, the owners of the shed. They had offered her the room before, but she had turned them down, not wanting to a burden. But with her new addition to the family, she concluded that they would need more room.
And the Sanderson's happily agreed.
Nowe she had her own room, big enough to be an appartment. Of course Mikomi would be staying with her, and the girl was glad that the older couple didn't ask many questions on how she came to be.
She didn't even know exactly.
And even better news was that the Sandersons were actually planning on making Tayne part of the family. No new last name, or having to call anyone mom or dad, but enough that they would always take care of her and her needs, and be there for her when times got tough.
And that thought would make her sleep better at night.
But now wasn't the time for sleeping.
"Come on Mikomi. Let's take a lunch break then look and see what color we want to paint our room."

[RP- double G posts] Mizu_Taji "Well it seems like we're a bit early..." Tayne said as she looked around the main room of the shop with its many treats and chairs. She looked at her piece of paper again, then to her watch. It was the time the paper had requested. The whole 'party' scene never really went well with Tayne, but having Mikomi to look after now, she wanted to change that. And this get-together just might be what the doctor ordered... The purple-ish gray girl peeked out from behind Tayne's legs. No one was around at the moment...
Good...
It wasn't that she didn't like people, she just didn't like new ones. Once they no longer new she didn't have such a hard time talking to them. She was still quiet... but not as frightened to ask them a question or talk to them for a little bit.
A party didn't sound like very much fun, but Tayne had insisted, so finally the girl gave in.
Peering around, Mikomi saw that they had tea and punch. She wasn't all that crazy for the cold sweet liquid, but she enjoyed tea.
"Mama? Could I have a cup?"Hakari-chan Hakari swaned into the room all draped in red silk and a large feathered hat. Her long black hair was done up in tight curls about her head as she cast her bright red eyes around the room, humming lightly to herself as she set a cushion to rights here and swiping a piece of dust off the glass and metal wrought table with a spare cloth. She turned and smiled as she heard someone enter. "Good afternoon." She said with a graceful nodd of her head. Mizu_Taji Tayne opened her mouth, about to reply to Mikomi's request, but the voice of another caught her off-gaurd. Flushing slightly, she swallowed her fear and looked to see who it was. It was Hakari, the woman who had aided in her recovery when she and her son, Sinn, found her that cold winter's night. "Hello there. Thank you for the invitation," she said, nodding her head slightly with gratitude. Looking down, she saw Mikomi clinging to her legs, peering at the woman with fright. Teasublime Rubbing at his nose, sighing at the cold, Tea tried his best to remember the directions. He'd spotted the invitation near the booth where he'd purchased Kama's lanturn, and the young boy seemed rather agreeable about going. Tugging his jacket into place, wrapped chin deep in a thick scarf, Tea held his little paper bag in one hand and opened the door after only a little fumbling. "We're here! After you."With a nod, Kama entered and drifted into the room. His eyes settled first on the table, then rose to the magnificent sight of a woman in red. It only took Tea a few moments to spot the same things. "Oh, goodness. I, um..." Suddenly, he felt painfully under dressed. A bit more color leaping to his cold cheeks, Tea set the bag down near the snack table and raised one hand awkwardly. "Hi! Hi there. I'm Tea, and this is Kama."Kama seemed far less nervous, and drifted into the room. His delicate wings fluttered idly, creating a gentle stir. As the ribbon around him coiled, he turned slowly and peered at each party goer in turn. "Hello..."Mizu_Taji Tayne's eyes went over towards the man and the winged boy as they entered. Now these two she hadn't met before. She kept quiet for a little bit, wondering what she should do. Some example I'm setting... Her spirit perked up at the sound of his introduction. It was always easier for her to start talking to someone if they started first. "Hello there... Tea... My name it Tayne. The little one behind me is Mikomi..." she started, still slightly unnerved by the situation. Rome wasn't built in a day after all. Bright eyes peered at the boy with wings from behind the legs of her adopted parent. She thought that they were quite pretty, but she would never actually tell him that.
He was new after all.
Instead she just watched from where she was, trying not to draw too much attention to herself. Heaven forbid that she would have to talk to anyone else.
Maybe if she watched long enough... they wouldn't be new anymore. Then she could talk to them.
Yeah... That sounded like a planTeasublime "Tayne? That's unique! I mean, it's...pretty! I mean..." Waving one hand in an effort to dispell his stuttering, Tea settled for pulling a few small jars out of his paper bag. "Yeah! Um...I brought some honey! Lots of honey, actually." Peering up, first at Tayne, then at the others in the room (Women! Why all women?!) Tea smiled a bit unevenly and fished out one more jar...finally withdrawing a bundle of leafy greens. "And some fresh mint! So please...um, feel free!"Patting Tea gently on the arm as he passed, Kama fluttered a tiny bit closer to the snack table. Tea never had anything but cereal and macaroni. So it felt somedays, at least. Picking a tiny heart shaped cookie from the table, Kama studied it for a moment before placing it on a dainty white napkin, and raising his eyes to Mikomi. This is for you, he said silently with nothing more than a smile and a point. For himself, he took a second, and wrapped it in a napkin as well. As others entered, Kama turned...fluttering a bit higher in an effort to see. One hand raised in a small wave to Hikari as she flounced in. "Well met!" An odd thing to say, but then, Kama had an odd teacher. Mizu_Taji Tayne laughed slightly at Tea's attempt to speak straight. It seemed like he was having a harder time then she was with talking to the others. "Thank you..." she said, flushing at his comment on her name. He seemed nice enough. "Did you grow the mint yourself?" she asked, trying to pick up conversation. Mikomi blinked confusidly as the butterfly boy pointed at the heart cookie. What did me mean by that. As he picked up the second one though, she had a pretty good idea.
Slowly letting go of her grasp on Tayne's legs, she slowly moved over to the table where Kama was standing. She clung to her arm in slight fright, keeping her eyes low.
But if Tayne could do it, so could she.
"He...hello" was all her timid little voice could muster.Xenostatica Xenos shrugged with the relax state of mind, she grabbed a cup and handed one to Hikari. She passed her a cake as well and went toward the seating area where she saw the others. They all had not met before, she was pretty sure of that. Hikari was excited but carefully carried her tea and cake, she saw the others but became very shy for a moment, she was not really sure if she should talk with them. It was important to sit before trying to make polite conversation, she was sure it would not be good to run up and spill tea on anyone so she followed Xenos to a seat to set herself up.Teasublime Shaking his head, Tea plucked a leaf from the sprig...popping it right into his mouth. Munching on the raw mint, he shrugged with a smile. "Well, kind of. My landlady grew it, but I'm the only one that remembers to water it. Can I...er...fix you a cup of tea? Cream and honey?" Motioning back to the table, since he was headed to fix one himself, Tea tried on another small smile for size. Everyone here was so...nice! Kama nibbled at his cookie, still watching Hikari until Mikomi floated closer. He tilted his head at the greeting, and took another small bite. Should he say hello back? He'd already said it once. Figuring it would be okay, Kama spoke just as softly. "Hi. You are Mikomi. I'm Kama." His voice was soft with a hint of curiosity, as though the very facts interested him. Mizu_Taji "That would be nice..." she said, flushing slightly again, noticing the two others for the first time. So many people! She waved meekly over to the woman who had desided to start over in her direction. Waving was... a bit easier then talking... "Cream and honey sounds just fine," she said, returning her attention to Tea. "Uh... yes?" she muttered, unsure of how to reply. She looked over to see what Tayne was doing, and saw that she was enjoying herself and talking to the man that Kama had come with.
If only I was that brave...Teasublime Kama took one more bite, munching quietly on the cookie. She seemed a little shy. Kama wasn't shy, but he was comfortably settled for the moment. Following Mikomi's glance back to the adults, Kama smiled a tiny bit. "Is that...your mother? Or friend?" He was referring, of course, to Tayne, and toyed with his last bit of cookie idly as he spoke. Happily pouring not one, but two cups of tea, Lime added a generous dollop of cream and a trickle of sweet clover honey from one of his jars. "Here you are!" He handed it over with a little spoon, and smiled brightly. Tea he could handle! "Ah, Kama! Would you like one?" It was a bit of an afterthought, but he meant well. As the boy nodded, Tea flashed a thumb's up...setting his own tea cup back down and fixing another. As he did, he glanced up to see if Tayne had tried hers. "To your liking?" He'd even added a fresh mint leaf, which settled upon the top of the steaming brew. Mizu_Taji Tayne blew slighly on the hot elixer as a habit. She wasn't in the mood to get her tounge burnt. Then, pressing the cup to her lips, she took a sip. "To my liking," she replied with a nod, then took another sip. Tea with honey, such a nice combination. "Yes... that is my mama... or mother if you'd rather call it that..." Mikomi said, rubbing her arm slightly. What else was there to say?
"Is he your friend?" she asked, slightly nodding over to the man who had offered to make Kama a cup of tea.Teasublime Nodding happily at Tayne's enjoyment, Lime handed Kama's cup over the table carefully. The boy took it with both hands, and brought it closer to his face. "Glad you like it! The honey is organic, but...I'm not entirely sure what that means." Rubbing at the back of his head with a smile, Tea shrugged and picked his own cup back up. "So...if I can ask...how did Mikomi happen into your life?"Kama perked up a bit at Tea's distant question, stil blowing at his drink to cool it. He wanted to know the answer as well, but listening to people talk about Mikomi couldn't be as interesting as simply talking to her himself. So, Kama did just that. Taking one little sip first, he lit up with approval. "It's good! Yes, he is my friend. I don't have many others...not yet. Would you...like to be one?" His offer of friendship was simple, and easy. For the life of him, Kama couldn't guess why she'd decline.

[rp party- normal count] Mizu_Taji ((eep! sorry tea... my folks banned me from the computer yesterday...)) Tayne mearly shrugged at Tea's question. "I passed out in front of the shop a while back, and Hakari and her son found me. The lanturns here were so nice, well, I couldn't resist. Next thing I knew I had Mikomi clinging to my legs everywhere I went." That was the best she could describe it. When she finished, she noticed that there were A LOT more people there in the room Mikomi blinked at the greatly upfront Kama? Her? His friend?
"Um... sure... I guess... I mean, if you want me to be, I don't see any problem with it..." But then a scary bright orange fellow just seemed to pop out of nowhere, which frightened the poor timid girl out of her wits. Scrambling over to her companion she clung to her legs again, hoping all of these people wouldn't notice her. Two people were enough, but this was just frightening...Hakari-chan "Hey Gokiloud! Come play kick the can with us! You over there too!" Toshi said, waving Gokiloud and the newly arrived Hoshi over to where she, Van, and the others were. "Alright, so does everyone understand how to play?" she asked the crowd of spirits, gloved hands on her hips.Inside, Hakari smiled at the obviously nervous little mikomi. Afraid the girl wasn't having much fun, the tall woman crouched down to her level where she clung to her keepers legs. "Hello there." she said in a calm, pleasant voice. "Aren't going to go outside and play with the others?" she asked her. She also addressed this question to Kama who stood nearby. She smiled in a friendly manner at them both. Mizu_Taji Mikomi shook her head violently at the woman's question.
"N...n...no thank you..." she studdered. "T...too many..." She clung to Tayne tighter, afraid of what to say next. What if she made the big lady mad by saying no? She seemed nice... but still..."Mikomi... come on now... how about just watching them play?" Tayne suggested. "I'll come with you! It'll be fun!" but all she got was a no from Mikomi's head. It didn't look like the little spirit was going to move any time soon... Hakari-chan "Aw, come on honey, don't you think it'd be nice to make some new friends and play a game? I know my little Toshi would be grateful for another friend." she said with a smile. If the child said no though, she wouldn't push the matter. better to let her come out on her own. Mizu_Taji "Well..." she began, pondering her offer. "I'll watch... but only if my Mama's allowed to come too..." She looked over to her new 'friend' Kama as well. "Do you wanna watch too Kama?" Just the prospect of Kama being her friend made her feel more easy around him. He was quiet and very nice.
Not like the scary orange boy.
"You coming Mama?""I must commemorate you Hakari. You managed to get her to do something that I couldn't... not on my own at least..." she said with a smile. "I also haven't been able to thank you for helping me those many weeks ago..." She flushed slightly, unsure of how to put her thanks into words.

Tayne peeked out the window at the damp world as the rain kept falling from the sky. It was so dark, so gloomy, so...
"Whatcha doin'?" a small voice chimed, breaking the girl's concentration. With a smile she turned her gaze to a rather chipper looking little Mikomi.
"Aren't you happy today!" she said, widening her grin. Slowly allowing her eyes to drift back to the window, she sighed. "I was just wondering what was taking the Sanderson's so long. The weather's getting worse out." And as if waiting for those words to breach her lips, a crack of lightning bolted across the sky, lighting the dark clouds for one brief moment with it's eerie glow. She looked back to see that the little light had lost most of her happy glow. Apparently people weren't the only things that scared her.
"Uh... well... I'm sure that they'll be fine..." was the only response, which made Tayne feel a bit uneasy to be sure.
"Are you alright?" she asked. The spirit smiled meekly.
"Fine... I'm going back into our room now..." And with that she was gone.
Tayne sighed. She felt partly responable for Mikomi's timid nature, though she wasn't sure WHY she felt that way... Looking back out the window, she wondered if maybe Mikomi might have been better off with a better keeper.
Maybe... just maybe she should have died on that cold night so long ago...

[private rp with kaze1981] Mizu_Taji Tayne's footsteps plodded against the sidewalks, though her mind was far from thinking on where she was going. So many things... so many things had happened in the span of one day... 24 short hours, and yet her life had changed... Her dad was alive? She was having a hard enough time grasping that concept, let alone that she was a child of one of the most powerful fire entities of this century. The power to create and bend fire to her will? Yeah right... But then again, it DID explain how she had caught fire, more then once, and not be burned by it's flaming tongue. It was all so much to take in... Oddly enough, it was the timid little light's idea to for a walk. Her mother seemed so upset by the turn of events that had fallen in front of her, though Mikomi couldn't see why. She thought Tayne would be happy to see that her father was still alive, that he still cared, but that seemed far from the reaction she saw in her adoptive parent's eyes.
Mikomi also thought it would be fun to be able to control fire. She could probably even save people, if she practiced enough.
But she had a feeling that Tayne wasn't going to come by this easily...
"Mama! Look, a park!" she said, trying to sound as cheery as she could. There wasn't anyone around at that very moment in time, so the many different pieces of park equipment peeked the girl's interest. They looked even...fun.
Tugging on her mother's hand, she looked up with pleading violet eyes.
"Cummon mom! Let's go and play together!"Tayne forced a smile across her face. She felt bad that she had neglected Mikomi so much over the past day. Making up for it by playing with her sounded like a good break from worrying. "How can I say no..." she said, so preocupied that she failed to realize that this was indeed the same park she met Kaze a few weeks ago... kaze1981 Arian sat under a tree sketching, the unicorn boy trying to draw the selection of leaves in front of him. It would have been easy just to draw just the 'leaf' shape, but the unicorn boy didn't want to do that as it would be too easy.
He'd tried drawing feathers too earlier - one of his that he'd shed from his wings, the one he'd received from Prisma and kept with his feather collection and one that he'd found while in the park.
Arian sighed. He missed Mummy, was still upset with her for going when she'd said she wouldn't leave him unless he wanted her too.
She promised she wouldn't and she did, even though she promised not to and it's all Uncle Kori's fault!
That didn't mean he wasn't upset with Mummy too - she'd broken her promise when she said she wouldn't and she hadn't taken him with her even though he'd wanted to go as she'd said it'd be too dangerous.
And she'd had a few arguments with Uncle Kori - he'd heard her doing it when she thought he'd been asleep, but hadn't.
She'd been arguing about having to go, had told Uncle Kori that someone called Kirith could do it - she'd sounded really unhappy about doing whatever it was she'd gone to do and at one point the unicorn spirit had thought that she wouldn't do it.
Then Uncle Kori had said something that had made Mummy argue more and then finally agree to whatever it was he'd wanted her to do.
She'd told him the next morning, her voice hesitant and unhappy and she'd given him a lanturn - apparently something she'd been wanting to give him as a surprise - she'd been planning to have a small party she said - just the two of them with cookies, banana milkshake and a new recipe for lemonade that she wanted to try out...
Instead she'd packed some things into a small bag, said something to Uncle Kori that had made him less mean than usual and promised to be back in a week.
Arian still missed her though - for one thing Uncle Kori didn't cook and for another he wasn't any fun, even though he was being less mean.
Arian paused in his sketching, the unicorn boy half-closing his eyes.
He'd used the lanturn she'd given him the night of the day she'd left, curiousity and a longing he couldn't put a name to making him reach for the silvery, flowered lanturn.
Even now with eyes half-closed the unicorn boy could still remember the warmth he'd felt, the glowing strings of star-like flowers...
Then the lanturn had gone, the only sign that it had been there the strange star-flower markings that wound their way from his shoulders to his hands like a tattoo. Mizu_Taji Tayne picked out the unicorn boy almost instantly, surprised that she hadn't seen him before. She must have really been thinking hard if she had missed him. Looking around, she saw no sign of Kaze, which didn't make her feel comfortable. Shaking her head, she quickly concluded that Arian was most likely capable of going out on his own from time to time, so it didn't worry her too much. "Look Mikomi. It's the one friend I was telling you about," she said with a smile, hoping that maybe getting Mikomi a new friend would cure her of her paranioa of new people. Mikomi's cheery demenor quickly drained from her eyes. Skuttling behind Tayne's legs, she peered out to look at this so-called 'friend'. It was the unicorn boy that her mom had told her about. What was his name again? Aran? Still, he was new to her, therefore scary all the samePurposly ignoring Mikomi's fleeting move, Tayne walked over to the tree, pleased to see one of her first friends she had ever made. It also make the girl feel better as she saw Mikomi staying close, too afraid to speak, but too curious to stay behind. Leaning on the tree for a moment, she watched him try to sketch the leaves. "Hey there Arian" kaze1981 Arian looked up as he heard the voice call his name and then smiled as he recognised the woman. "Hi Tayne!" He shifted, the movement dislodging the sketchpad he'd put down in his lap.
"I've got feathers now! Mummy won a lanturn for me - something to do with roses and.." He fell silent as he remembered that Mummy had gone away, looking miserable for a moment until a slight movement from behind Tayne caught his eyes. "Hello?" His emerald green eyes looked questioning. Mizu_Taji Tayne noticed the slight sadness in the boy's demenor. Finding this quite odd, she was about to ask if anything was the matter, but then noticed that he became interested in her own adoptive daughter. "I see you noticed the new addition to my family." she smiled. There was no way she was letting Mikomi get out of this now. "This is my daughter, Mikomi. She came out of the lanturn that I had with me the last time we got to talk." Mikomi peered out again from behind Tayne's legs. Great, he knew that she was there. Once she heard her mother mention that she was around him before in someway though, she felt a little more at ease. Closing her eyes, she waited. His aura DID feel familiar, only a little different then before, and it wasn't JUST the wings...
"...flowers..." she managed to whisper out. After getting a confused look from Tayne, she pointed to Arian's arms.
"...He's got flowers now too... He didn't before..." she explained meekly, then quickly retracted her hand, afraid she had offended the boykaze1981 Arian grinned at Tayne, then tried to catch a glimpse of the girl hiding behind Tayne. "Would you like a cookie Mikomi? They're not as good as the ones Mummy makes, but they're ok. You can have one too Tayne - I put the bag somewhere by my lanturn."
His grin turned into a friendly smile as he caught sight of Mikomi peeking out from behind Tayne's legs, the smile widening as the girl mentioned his markings "Yes, I got them from a lanturn Mummy got me." Again there was a touch of sadness, his emerald green eyes looking somewhat miserable at the word 'Mummy'. "They kind of remind me of my tree."
Arian blinked "And my name's Arian which apparently means silver - though I'm not really silvery... Sorry I should have said that first, but I forgot" he smiled ruefully at Mikomi. "Since your Mummy already knows my name." Mizu_Taji Mikomi took in a deep breath. Very slowly she forced her feet to move enough so that she was next to Tayne instead of behind her. She peered at Arian with truthful interest. He seemed to get quiet whenever he mentioned his mother. Did something bad happen to her?
"A cookie sounds... nice... thank you" She could feel Tayne smile a wide smile. Well, if it made her mom happy, maybe, just maybe she would talk to people a bit more.Tayne also noticed the sadness again. This didn't seem like Arian's style, though she had only met him once. "You don't seem like your chipper self Arian... Anything wrong?" kaze1981 Arian picked up the bag from where it had been half-hidden by his jade lanturn, the cookies something that Uncle Kori had picked up when the fallen angel had reluctantly gone to the supermarket. The ex angel had also picked up some icecream which made the unicorn spirit wonder if the lavender haired man had been trying to bribe him... Especially since he hadn't had a home cooked meal since Mummy had gone.
The unicorn boy shook his head slightly and offered the bag to Mikomi before answering Tayne's question. "Mummy's gone. She said it's only for a week but..."
But she had promised him she wouldn't leave - not unless he'd wanted her to and she'd broken her promise...
And he still didn't know what Uncle Kori had said to make her go and... "And it's all Uncle Kori's fault!" he said speaking his thoughts aloud. Mizu_Taji Tayne sat down on the ground crosslegged. Why on earth would Kaze leave? Did this 'Uncle Kori' scare her away or something? "Well that's not good..." she mused, allowing her own thoughts to pass through her lips. "I actually had a question for her... but I guess it'll have to wait..." Looking at the little boy with concern, she sighed. What could she do to help? "Uncle Kori doesn't sound very nice if he made your mama leave..." Mikomi noted with her usual shy tone as she carefully reached in for a cookie. She took a small nibble. Store bought. Not the greatest tasting, but edable enough. Taking another bite she at once tried to change the subject. One of the few things she hated more then new people was people who were sad, but at least she wasn't afraid to change that.
"What were you doing in your pretty book? The star on the front is very elegant, just like my mama's new book her daddy gave her..."kaze1981 After Mikomi took a cookie Arian offered the bag of cookies to Tayne, having first taken out one for himself "Could I help with your question Tayne?" he asked. "I like helping my friends and maybe I can help you too."
The unicorn boy was curious as to what Tayne wanted to ask his Mummy about, although he meant it when he said that he liked helping his friends - if it was something he could help with then he'd try his hardest to help Tayne.
He gave Mikomi a smile as she asked about his book "It's my drawing book - Mummy gave it to me so that I could draw things if I wanted, but I'm not that goood - want to see?"
The unicorn spirit lifted the book up from his lap. The book contained all the drawings he'd ever done - although to his mind the early ones were really crappy.
Mummy had said he was improving though.
Mummy...
He missed her, she was always so cheerful and although she could be stern she was just really, really nice... And she cooked real good too.
He liked eating her cooking - she made the best salads and the best cookies and best of all she remembered he was a vegetarian.
Uncle Kori hadn't - the first night that Mummy had gone the fallen angel had ordered something called pizza and told him all kids liked pizza. Actually Arian was pretty sure the fallen angel had wanted to call him brat like he usually did, but the taller man had stopped himself.
He'd ordered a meat pizza and looked irritated when Arian had told him he didn't eat meat, but he'd taken the box and disposed of it.
The unicorn boy had made himself sandwiches that night, watered his tree and looked over Mummy's dragon collection.
The next night it had been pizza again - although this time it had been a vegetarian one.
It had been ok - but it wasn't Mummy's cooking and the cookies Uncle Kori had found weren't as good as the ones Mummy baked fresh each morning.
Four days on and Arian was sick of pizza.
He just wanted Mummy to come back.
A thought occured to him and he looked at Mikomi "Your Mummy has a book sort of like my one too? What does it look like? Mummy owns a set of them, but she let me have this one as she doesn't really use it. She doesn't use the one with the sun on it or the fire flame either - but Mummy doesn't really like fire I don't think." Mizu_Taji Ice blue eyes wavered at the mention of Kaze not liking fire. That wasn't what she needed to hear, though it was nice to know before hand. Even with that sad fact ringing throughout her thoughts, it was kind of nice to know that Kaze did have books, including the fire one, that was similar to the one that her 'father' had given her. "I don't think you'll know much about it... seeing as you mom doesn't use it either. I need to ask her about my fire book..." she mused, almost to herself, as she reached into the cookie bag Mikomi finished off the cookie, then nodded at the mention of the fire book.
"Tayne's daddy came by yesterday and gave her the book. He hadn't seen her for over 19 years... he said he was hiding... but he didn't really say why..." She paused for a moment, trying to remember all that was said. "He tried to take mama away from me... said she could never see me again... but mama wouldn't go. I think she scared him!" she laughed at the last part, thinking that Tayne being angry was actuall quite funny.
Going on her tiptoes so she could see, Mikomi peered over Arian's shoulder to look at his pictures he made.
"They're pretty Arian! You're good!" she said with a timid giggle.Tayne shivered at the light's rememberance of the conversation she had with him. Not because she was afraid of the man, but of what he said. Saying she would kill someone if she didn't come with him, but she refused to believe him, but still... She HAD to get this whole thing sorted out. kaze1981 Arian blinked at Tayne "You have a fire book?" he asked curiously. "Does it glow? Mine glows sometimes, but it's not very bright." The unicorn spirit paused for breath and then confided "The ones Mummy uses glow a lot though, even if all she does is write in them."
Maybe it was the writing that made it glow, although the unicorn boy wasn't sure what writing had to do with glowing and he still hadn't found where Mummy kept the rest of her books and so he hadn't been able to look for himself.
Listening as Mikomi spoke, the unicorn boy was even more curious. Tayne's Daddy sounded like not a nice person if he'd been trying to take Miss Tayne away, but it also made him feel a little jealous - after all if Tayne stayed why hadn't Mummy stayed? Why had she let Uncle Kori make her go?
Worse of all, although the unicorn spirit didn't say anything he was worried that maybe Mummy wouldn't be back when she said she would.. After all she'd already broken one promise...
Maybe she doesn't want me anymore...
Mikomi's voice interrupted his thoughts, the fact that she liked his pictures making him feel warm and glowy and happy inside if for a moment - it was nice that someone else apart from his Mummy liked his pictures, nice that... "Thanks Mikomi, I'm not really that good though."
A thought suddenly struck him, "I wonder if Mummy has a Daddy or Mummy too." If Tayne could have a Daddy, maybe Mummy could have one too, even though he'd never heard her say anything about having one. Mizu_Taji "Yeah, it glows sometimes..." Tayne stated, thinking back. She didn't have her book with her at the moment. Though Mikomi's comment seemed to make him feel a bit better, Arian still didn't seem very happy. "Do you miss your mom Arian? You seem awfully sad today..." She then cursed herself. She was probably just going to make it worse... Mikomi had a different plan of attack for making Arian feel better.
"Arian, could you show me how you drew that one leaf? It was so pretty that I want to try... if that's alright with you that is...." she clung to her arm, slightly reverting to her shy, people-afraid self.Smiling, Tayne was glad that Mikomi was able to make friends with Arian. He was a good influence after all, so kind and thoughtful, though a tad curious, but Mikomi was the same way once she got to know the person. kaze1981 Arian nodded miserably "It's not the same without her even though Uncle Kori's not being as mean as usual. I think Mummy said something to him before she left to make him not be so mean, but she promised me she wouldn't leave if I didn't want her to and she left anyway... Even though I didn't want her to go.. Don't want her to go." It seems that it's the fact that Kaze had promised Arian not to leave that was especially upsetting the unicorn spirit. "Why would she promise not to go and then go? I don't understand and it's not fair!"
Arian was upset at both Uncle Kori and Mummy.. Well he was upset with Mummy - really upset with her - but he was upset and angry with Uncle Kori since this was his fault. All his fault!
And underlying it all was the fear that...
Mikomi's voice interrupted his thoughts, causing the unicorn spirit to start, silvery-grey wings ruffling and a couple of silvery-grey feathers falling.
Arian blinked as Mikomi's words sank in and then finally he nodded "Erm sure" he sounded slightly hesitant as he added. "I'm not that good at it though. I still need to practise lots and lots to get better."
Maybe if he helped Mikomi to draw the leaf she wanted he wouldn't have to think about the fact that Mummy might not want him any more... Mizu_Taji Yup. I made it worse... "Please try not to be too mad at your mom Arian... I'm sure your mom will explain why she did this when she gets back..." she started, getting up from her seated position and walking over to him. "And it's only for a week. Like Mikomi said, my dad left me alone for over 19 years to fend for myself. You're lucky" Mikomi blinked, feeling REALLY bad for seemingly scaring him with her question.
"I... I'm sorry... you don't have to if you don't want to..." she muttered sadly. She didn't like to frighten people, even if it was just an accident.
She started thinking about things that Arian said earlier, about it being his Uncle Kori's fault. The mean man must be watching Arian was his mama was away. Maybe he just needed a break from him. That's when an idea came to the little spirit.
"Would... would you like to come over for dinner tonight? Mama's getting a lot better at cooking... but like I said... if you don't want to..."kaze1981 But what if she doesn't come back? Arian thought miserably. What if...
The rest of what Tayne said sunk in "Nineteen years?!" He sounded surprised. Nineteen years was ages and ages in Arian's book, but maybe if Tayne's Daddy could come back, then maybe just maybe his Mummy would come back - although he didn't want her to take nineteen years - nineteen years was almost forever!
Arian blinked at Mikomi as she looked sad suddenly "I don't mind helping you draw the leaf. I just.. Are you sure you really want me to help you?" The unicorn spirit couldn't understand why Mikomi would want him to help her when he hadn't managed to get his drawings completely right, but if she really wanted him to then he was ok with...
He realised that Mikomi was still speaking and then looked hesitant "Would it be ok if I did. I don't think Uncle Kori can cook at all since he keeps ordering pizza and I'm sick of pizza... And the first time he ordered a meat pizza and I don't eat meat so I couldn't eat it." Mizu_Taji The blue-violet haired woman smiled. A dinner guest WOULD be nice... "I don't mind at all Arian, but you should double check with Kori, just in case. You don't have to right now though, dinner is a few hours away yet..." "It's just you jumped when I asked...See?" she bent down and plucked a silver feather from off the ground. "You even lost a few feathers... I didn't mean to scare you..." she said, twirling the feather in her hand slighly.
Listening to Arian, Mikomi became a bit confused. "Veg...ge...tar..i...an...?" she stated, unsure of the word. She had read many books, but that word never came up in any of them. "Is that when certain foods make you sick?"kaze1981 Arian made a face when Tayne mentioned telling Uncle Kori, although if Mummy had been there she would have probably made him tell Uncle Kori too "Ok, though he probably won't even care." Not that he was going to ask right now as he didn't really want to talk to Uncle Kori right now.
Arian shook his head "I was juat thinking so I didn't really hear you properly at first and it took me by surprise... It doesn't mean I mind." He smiled "And I'm always losing feathers.. Mummy said it was just the older ones though."
He paused slightly for breath before answering the second question "Vegetarian just means that I don't eat meat. Not that it'd make me sick.. At least I don't think it would." He frowned "I still don't want to eat it though." Mizu_Taji "Oh!" she exclaimed slightly. "I'm glad I didn't scare you then! I don't like to scare people." Looking at his book again, she pondered at how to procede.
"How do you make the leaf's vainy things? Those always confuse me..." she admited shyly, glancing back and forth from the book to Arian."No meat then. But tell me Arian, what do you like to eat?" asked Tayne. "Is there anything special that you'd like me to make?" kaze1981 Arian looked at Tayne "I don't really mind as long as it's not pizza - all Uncle Kori does is order pizza and it was ok for the first and second day, but now I'm sick of pizza."
Turning his attention back to Mikomi he told his female lanturn spirit "I'm not very good at drawing the vein-thingy, but I'm trying to practise to get better.
That's why I keep the leaf so I can see what it looks like and try and draw it properly. That and practise more and more so I can get better." Mizu_Taji Mikomi tilted her head. Arian wasn't very confident in his abilities as an artist. All he had to say about it was critisism. Maybe this wasn't a good idea after all.
"Would you feel better to postpone the lesson until you feel your skills have improved?" she asked with full out thoughtfull-ness. "We could do something else if you want."Tayne yawned and sat back down, thinking. Arian and Kaze were talking about food the last time they met, and the boy asked her for something. Now what was it? She could only remember, at least at that very moment, that it contained bannana. But she was determined to figure it out before he came over for dinner. kaze1981 Arian shook his head "Not unless you don't want to" Arian said. "I'll never get better if I don't practise and I want to be really good one day." The unicorn spirit smiled at Mikomi "I kind of like drawing, especially with other people. I drew some pictures with someone called Prisma once and she did a pretty rainbow-coloured picture... And she let me keep a feather for my feather collection. Mummy's helped me draw too - but she doesn't really like to draw." Mizu_Taji Mikomi smiled back the best she could, then wondered if she looked odd. Pushing the thought aside she walked over to the tree Arian was sitting against when she first saw him and sat down.
"Okay then... how about I watch you for a little, and then I'll try!" she suggested happily. Arian was so nice, and the little spirit was becoming inwardly exited about him coming over for dinner.
That is if his Uncle Kori let him. kaze1981 Arian found himself grinning as Mikomi smiled - the purple lanturn spirit seemed a little shy to him, but the fact she was smiling meant she didn't mind being around him...
At least he hoped she didn't mind being around him.
"That works for me" he told her, turning to a clean page in his book before looking carefully at the leaf.
"I always draw the outside of the leaf first" he said as he carefully drew the outline of the leaf, trying to remember to make the lines faint at first like he'd been taught. That way it'd be easier for him to try and fix things later.
"Drawing the outside is the easy part." Mizu_Taji Almost unblinking Mikomi watched Arian as he began to sketch the outside of the leaf. She noted how he held the pencil and how he used it. She REALLY didn't want to mess up, especially after Arian had begun to go through all the trouble of teaching her.
"Okay... I see..." was all that she muttered, her attention fixed soley on what he was saying and what his hands were doing. kaze1981 Arian finished off the outline of the leaf with quick, deft strokes of the pencil and then frowned with concentration as he tried to put the lines in.
He looked at the leaf a lot as he did it and did as best he could, although it still didn't look right to him. Finally though he was finished and he showed Mikomi the end result. "That's what I do when I draw leaves" he said, before offering her the book and pencil. "Do you want to have a try?" Mizu_Taji With a small smile, the little spirit took the book gingerly into her hands. Propping it up on her knees, she then took the pencil from her new found friend and tried to hold it like he did.
It wasn't the way she was used to holding a pencil, even though the difference was only slight. Still, she wanted to do this the same way he did, so she would just have to deal with it.
Pressing the pencil on the paper, she made her first line. It was a bit dark, and it curved oddly to the left, or at least in her opinion. Removing some of the pressure, she stroked the pencil again, trying to make up for her odd first line. This one was much lighter, yet awefully swiggily. Sticking out her tongue in pure determination, she glanced over to the real leaf, then to the one that Arian had drawn. Another line. This one seemed slighly more leaf-like, though it pulled a bit more to the right then she would have wanted, and it was a bit long.
Erasing the extra part, she continued on until a scraggly outline of a leaf was finished. Mikomi stuck out her tongue farther in annoyance.
"It looks more like a cat then a leaf..." kaze1981 Arian laughed, though his laughter had no malice to it. "You should see some of my first drawings - they were horrible! At least yours actually resembles something." His laughter faded to a smile "And I think cats are ok if confusing - they always seem so contrary to me."
Still smiling the unicorn spirit took a spare pencil and made a few changes to Mikomi's outline "See if you change it a little here and" he thought about it "Here. Then it starts to look more like a leaf." Mizu_Taji Mikomi giggled then watched Arian again as he fixed her cat-leaf. He made it seem so easy, but then again, he said he was bad when he first started, so she shouldn't be so worried about it...
right?Tayne smiled. It was so nice to see Mikomi laughing and smiling with someone other then herself. Arian was a little lifesaver with fluffy wings and a horn. Taking in a deep breath, she sighed. Now if only someone was able to help her out with her other problem... kaze1981 Arian looked over at Tayne feeling guilty that he hadn't talked with her more - the unicorn boy had heard the sigh and thought that she was sighing at him for not talking to her as much as he'd been talking to Mikomi.
"I'm sorry" Arian didn't want Tayne to think that he was deliberately ignoring her - he'd just been having so much fun talking to Mikomi and drawing with her. "I didn't mean to not talk to you too, it's just I was having fun drawing with Mikomi."
He gave Mikomi a smile "I like drawing but I think that it's much more fun drawing with someone else." Thinking about it Arian added "Well unless the other person's mean and you're not."
Noticing the time Arian realised it was getting slightly late - time seemed to have gone by faster than he thought "I guess I should go ask Uncle Kori if he'll let me come over to have dinner with you soon." Reluctance at going and asking the fallen angel anything crept into his voice, Arian worried that the meanie would say 'No' just to be mean, although he hoped that Uncle Kori would say yes. "I really want to come." Mizu_Taji Snapping out of her own thoughts, Tayne raised her hand in apoplogy. "It's quite alright Arian. I'm sure we'll be able to talk a lot if you're able to come over." She thought for a moment. Didn't Kaze say they lived near here? "Maybe Mikomi and I could walk you home at least. We won't go in of course. I remember that Kori isn't fond of house guests..." "Oh?" said an intrigued Mikomi. "Mister Kori doesn't? Well, I could understand if I didn't know the person but...""I haven't met him yet." "Hmmm... Okay then." She then grinned and clasped her hands together. "Oh I really hope that you can come Arian! It would be so much fun if you could!"kaze1981 Arian perked up "That'd be great" he gave both Mikomi and Tayne a grin. "I can show you some of the places I go and peek into, and then there's the post office where we have to collect our mail since Mummy said that the postmen won't go there."
He paused for breath slightly "I heard her say it's because they're scared, though I don't think I was supposed to hear that. I don't know why they're scared though unless it's because they're worried about Uncle Kori being mean to them" he paused and frowned slightly.
"Or maybe it's that person that Uncle Kori goes and stays with sometimes - Mitsu-something or the other. I've never met him though - Mummy won't let me meet him and when i tried to ask Uncle Kori once he glared at me, called me a brat and then told me to mind my own business."
Arian finally paused, for the moment having run out of things to say. Standing up, a few feathers fell from his wings, the Unicorn spirit kind of used to it by now, although he didn't know why they did that. Maybe it was something to do with wings that he hadn't figured out yet and at least he'd stopped getting tangled up in his own wings - that had not been fun.
He looked at Tayne and Mikomi suddenly hesitant. "Do you think that talking too much and asking questions are bad?" The question came seemingly out of the blue." Mizu_Taji Truthfully pondering at Arian's question, Tayne 'hmmed' in thought. "To tell you the truth, it depends on the questions being asked, and the person who is going to answer. Some people don't like to be asked questions, while others don't mind at all. I myself don't mind being asked, I just rarely know the answer..." she then flushed slightly. "I hope that helped a little at least..." "Talking isn't bad for me either... I mean, when other people are doing it. I like listening to people, I'm just...not a very good talker is all..." Mikomi said, slightly withdrawing into her timid nature. "Sometimes I've got a lot of questions to ask, but I don't like asking them... Maybe I'm just weird like that..." Mikomi listened to Arian for a little while longer and smiled again.
"That would be fun! Where all do you like to go?" she chimed, trying hard not to be afraid to ask him.kaze1981 Arian thought about it "I don't know" he said at last. "There's so many interesting things around it's hard to pick just one thing to look at and ask about."
He grinned at Mikomi and Tayne "There's still so many things I don't know anout, although one day I'm going to know lots and lots since I like to find out about things and what they do and why they're around" the smile faded slightly. "Uncle Kori hates me asking questions though. And he thinks I talk too much."
He frowned slightly "I could show you the Post Office though, that's fairly interesting and it's near Uncle Kori's apartment. The Post Office has some really pretty stones in their shop right now." He grinned "I like the green ones." Mizu_Taji "Well phoey on Mr. Kori then..." Mikomi humphed, though she did ot mean it. She had already concocted in her young mind an idea that would, perhaps, make Mr. Kori less mean. Maybe all her needed was someone to be nice to him, that's all, but she wasn't going to tell Arian that...at least not yet.
"Green rocks in a shop? Besides being green, how are they different from the other rocks?" kaze1981 Arian grinned "Well the rocks are all different, like some of them are sparkly, some are dull and some have more than one colour - that's not why I like the green ones though - I like them cause I like green. My two favourite colours are silver and a green Mummy told me was called jade."
The unicorn spirit stood up slowly "That's what my name means - silver, even though I'm not really very silvery at all. Maybe that's why I like silver."
Blinking slightly he asked Mikomi "Do you have a favourite colour?" Mizu_Taji Tayne chuckled slightly. "Perhaps that is so Arian. You never know!" she said standing up and streching. "Well, if we want to see the post office and eat at a decent hour I suppose we should get a move on." Mikomi smiled, looking first at Arian and then at her mother. "My name means hope...at least that's what mama said..." she stated, the latter part more of a musing to herself. She then giggled slightly and smiled a bit wider, bits of her white teeth showing their pearly gleam.
"Come on Arian!" she chirped as she gave his shirt a slight tug. "I want to see the places you like!"kaze1981 Arian smiled at Mikomi "Your name is pretty - I like it" and then he laughed. "Yes lets go, one of the wrokers at the Post Office closes a little late and if we ask really nicely he might even let us look at the stones."
The unicorn spirit knew this because he'd done it before on a few occasions.
"And if not we can always look at the display through the window."
He seemed a lot more relaxed and cheerful at that moment. Mizu_Taji Laughing slightly, the little spirit beamed.
"Well then let's go! I want to see if there are any purple ones!" Tayne smiled. It was truely nice to see Mikomi so happy woth someone other then herself. At least someone was able to break her out of her shell. "All right Mikomi. Calm down!" she said with a laugh.

[rp with Jayoku] Mizu_Taji The shop was quiet and dark. Odd looking lights swung lifelessly on old chains, and it seemed like no one was around... Swell...just swell... Tayne peered about again. Surely there must be SOMEONE around. There always seemed to be. Sighing she ran her fingers through her draping violet-blue hair then ruffled the short dusty purple locks of the little child-like being beside her. "Looks like we came here for nothing..." Mikomi looked up at her adoptive parent with almost sorrowful eyes. The current situation didn't bother her one bit. No people here meant no new people to scare her half-to-death, and that suited her just fine. Still, Tayne didn't seem too happy about the empty shop.
"Well...maybe we could come back later?" There. That way they both won.jayoku You could hear her coming about about a minute before the door opened to the store. A woman average in height with her hair done in up pigtails entered the shop. The sound og jingling came from the bells that were attatched to the hem of her shirt. She looked up a bit surprised that she saw a woman plus a child in the store. Why she was surprised she wasn't exactly sure.
"Oh...Hello." She greeted warmly, she was dressed odly, her lipstick was drawn on her lips in a geisha fashion and a small garder snake was wrapped loosely around her neck. Emerald green in colour it peered around curiously and tasted the air with a flick of its tongue. Mizu_Taji Tayne was actually to engrossed in her own thoughts to hear the woman's bells, though her voice rang clearly through her ears. Turning her gaze her eyes fell upon the woman. Oddly enough she found the bell skirt to be quite interesting, but then again she was never noted for her fashion sence. "Hello to you too miss." she greated with the same warmth the newcomer had shown. As soon as the tinkling sound of bells was heard Mikomi took her usual place, cowering behind Tayne's legs. Peeking around them she saw the green thing around her neck, though she wasn't exactly sure what it was at first until its tongue flicked out.
"Ssss...snake..." she whimpered, though not in fear of the snake, but of it's weilder.jayoku Jayoku looked about and gave a bit of a sigh. "Are either of the owners in today? I was hoping to get some questions answered." She hadn't moved though her blue eyes caught sight of Mikomi and seemed to lock onto her.
"Hello there." she said quietly noticing the trembling in the young...child's body. She never assumed it was her that the little one was afriad of but the snake coiled around her throat. "This is Serin." she said pointing to the garder snake who promptly moved to wrap around its mistresses hand.
It tasted something unfamiliar in the air and he could get closer it seemed by moving forward. It turned its head towards the pair observing them as it coiled around Jay's fingers. Mizu_Taji She shook her head slightly, peering around and back at the woman again. "It doesn't look like it..." she replied, then looked at Mikomi. Taking the child lightly by the arm she pulled her out from her hiding spot. "Come now Mikomi. I highly doubt the nice lady will hurt you. Arian was new to you once, and he didn't hurt you either..." Letting go, she smiled at the woman again. "Sorry about that miss. She's a bit...iffy around people she doesn't know. And my name's Tayne by the way. Pleasure to meet you." Just as Tayne had let go of her arm again Mikomi skittered back behind her 'mother's' legs. What she said about Arian was true...but...
This lady wasn't Arian.
Still, she found the way the snake coiled about quite interesting. It was almost like it knew what the lady was saying. And besides, she liked the name Serin. It sounded nice.jayoku Jayoku smiled kindly and stood up straighter to look at Tayne and nodded her head. She gave a bit of a giggle as she watched the young girl Mikomi skitter back behind her 'mothers' legs. "Nice to meet you Tayne, my name is Jayoku. " she said offering a hand which contianed no snake on it towards the woman for a friendly greeting of handshakes.
She then looked to Mikomi again. "its ok I don't expect everyone to warm up to me right away. But perhaps she would like to hold Serine? He loves children the most." She offered the little snake peered up at his mistres and back towards the child. It did seem interested. Mizu_Taji "Pleasure Miss Jayoku," she said with full conviction as she took the woman's hand, firmly shaking it. "You said you had some questions? I...might be able to help...at least a little." she said, offering her services, though she would not force them apon her if they weren't wanted or needed. Mikomi blinked at the snake as it seemed to peer up at the woman, then at her, as though it knew what the lady was saying...
Was that even possible?
Still... curiousity pushed the little spirit to walk out from behind her hiding place to peer at it with a better view.
