lol aw well.
I'm not gonna fix it.
But interesting responses...
Can't say if I'll like it or not til I see and do it. That's all I gotta say. If I had to predict, I'd say I wouldn't like it because it also seems overkill to me.

That could seem a bit presumptuous in saying that the spoiler is in the title as he could of easily meant 3 trainers vs 3 trainers (team/clan battle, ftw?).

I'm kinda excited at the prospect of 3v3 pokemon battles. It does add a bit more strategy to battling, as now you have to worry about another pokemon on the field. I do see the chaotic point, though. Sending out and potentially losing half your team in a single turn would make a lot of people angry (that and the fact that we'll have to either adjust our Double Battle teams a little to fit or make a new one entirely), and it does mean a lot of changes to various moves that we'll have to memorize along with the new ones. Some of them we'll see coming (such as Earthquake and Surf's range being extended), but others may have effects we may not see coming. Still, I think it will make things interesting, to say the least. I personally am still waiting on the core change they'll make, the thing that will really revolutionize the Metagame. 3rd Gen had Abilities, 4th Gen modified the Physical/Special description of many attacks, what will the 5th Gen bring to the plate? To agree with the rest of you, we'll just have to wait and see.

It really makes one wonder how they'll make a better and more innovative core change. Aside from Touch Screen/microphone interactive attacks, but that might be more aesthetic and...something-else-I-can't-think-of than a core change. It would probably take a lot of memory and massive reworking considering the number of moves out there...Any ideas? What sort of core change could they come up with the revolutionize the Metagame? All I can think of are things that most likely will not happen, like pokemon fusion (remember that gastly episode? Venastoise is a strange looking bugger) or a new type (outruled multiple times).

Well, seeing how this is the first generation that has been released onto a gaming console that it's previous (non-remake) version also was (ie: DS/DS Lite/DSi/DSi XL), aside from the reworking of old moves (Hypnosis accuracy back to 70% ftw!), the addition of new moves and hold items, I'm not really expecting too much of a change from Gen 4 to Gen 5. However as a breeder, I would personally love to see Abilities be affected by the breeding process. Breeding when first introduced in Gen 2, opened the door to a lot of new move combinations and I just feel that if the parents could also influence the abilities of their offspring by either pass down abilities they otherwise wouldn't have had or even lead to entirely new abilities only obtainable when "Pokemon A" and "Pokemon B" breed together, would downright be phenomenal. Of course, that's just me.

Of course, that's just me. Personally, that's just epic. I hadn't considered that option. Having offspring potentially inherit the ability of one of the parents (perhaps the male, to make it like egg moves) would certainly give way to a lot of new battling possibilities. You could have a Staller with Intimidate to help lower the opponents effectiveness, or give Pikachu/Raichu Volt Absorb or Motor Drive to give 'em a boost in double battles. It would have to be a little realistic to prevent everyone from going around with Levitate and making Earthquake obsolete. Perhaps Psychic and Ghost types could learn Levitate through that method? I'd love to see Ability Breeding myself, considering the possibilities.

Introducing a new type or two could be amazing.
