"No...Not at all." she replied to him with a soft sigh. "In fact...I don't remember much from the past." she continued. To the truth, she was born somewhere in the lands far from here, though she was left alone, and had settled down in the isles for some time, traveling and trying to find herself.

He tilted his head slightly as she spoke. She had become a little less brash the more time he spent with her. "Do you suffer from amnesia?" he took a few steps closer to her, "We could find a unicorn to try to reverse the effects..." he looked over her, she didn't seem to have any markings to conclude that she had taken a bad fall recently. "Can I help?"

"No no no..." she replied, shaking her head to him, "I remember fine...but my childhood...well, not much happened there in all honesty...Besides...who needs memories." she grumbled at the last one, mostly frustrated at her past, at how her parents seemed to have abandoned her.

Syri softened a bit at the mare's last comment.
"Everyone needs memories..." his head straightened as he looked over to her, "Surely there is something that makes you smile from your past?"

"What if you don't have anything to smile on?" she replied, grumbling softly. "you had it all...parents...friends....well..I kinda had a bit of that but hell...when all of that goes poof in the next day? Meh."

"My past is not what you think," she stallion stated. He had turned his back on the kirin lifestyle while young. He had broken his parents heart and left the lands in search of adventure and individuality. He, to this day, had never returned home.
Syri thought about his travels. Even when alone, he had encountered creatures...flowers....lands that had made memories for him. Surely this mare had something.
"Then you are blind, Raven." he stated simply. "You can not have a complete past full of emptiness... Unless you are blind or dead."

He laughed, perhaps he was more kirin at heart than he thought. The idea actually made him smile. "Your past is what makes your future. You wouldn't be here if it weren't for the path you had taken," he bobbed his head and laughed. He should listen to his own wisdom sometimes.

The last words she said struck him, he had been clinging to his own mistakes for much of his adult life. It cause a moment of silence.
"Well, then perhaps.... perhaps it's time to make memories worth remembering," he smiled at the odd mare as he thought. "What do you enjoy, Raven?"

"Hhmmm...mostly baths...Keep me cool...I've been around here and there." she replied to him, her head turned to him with a soft chuckle. "What about you Master Monk? Anything about leaving past home? Or still shaking the ancestral visions off your skull."

He snickered slightly at the name, "My memories of leaving home are good... and bad. I didn't leave in the most...honorable manner." he stated simply to her.
"Well then, come on." Syri nodded towards the water, "Let's get going,"

She followed him in. "What was life back then? You know, all the vegan the incense, the smelling of the flowers and contemplating on why it blooms." she asked, joining him in the water.

"It was calm and pretty boring when I was younger," he laughed as he stopped near the edge of the water. "I wasn't ready to learn the ways of my ancestors, I finally rebelled and left..."
He turned his head looking to her, intent on showing her there were things to smile about every day, even in a passive manner. "Look there," he lowered his head towards the water, his eyes focusing on the plantlife that lived there and the small minnows that were swimming among the algae. "There's beauty all around you, every day. That alone is something to ponder on..."

She sighed softly to him. "Guess you're talking like them more and more." she replied. "Though...its pretty and all." she replied to him softly. Her wings flexing slightly in the clear water.
