"I think getting eated would hurt. What do you want to eat when we go on our trip? I like bacon sandwiches but I can get Pacifism to make whatever we want. We can bring a picnic basket too." Isolde had finished two plates and a bowl. Next up was a cup, but she didn't know what to paint on it. So she asked River. "What should I put on my cup? I already did a yacht and a duck pond and an angel and I don't know what else to put on the cups and the bowl."

"Uh-huh, but it wuddn't hurt if we were dead 'cause dead stuff doesn't feel. That's what Dadda said." River nodded a little. Eno looked up to give them a mildly confused expression, since he hadn't really been listening, but when River didn't respond he went back to painting.
"I like bacon! It's tasty. Pancakes are good too, and waffles, with maple syrup and lots of butter. One day, Dadda asked me if I wanted some waffle with my butter." River erupted into a mini fit of giggles at the memory. He had indeed put a lot of butter on his waffle. "Ohoh! Clouds. I like clouds. Dadda said my hairs like a cloud." River reached up to pat his hair, successfully getting some paint in it. "Uh-oh...." He glanced at Eno to see if the man noticed, but he didn't seem to pick up on any trouble, so River relaxed and went back to slathering his bowl in paint. "Or a rainbow, rainbows are cool."

"My Daddy doesn't say anything about my hair. I like bacon too! I like bacon sandwiches most of all. Pacifism makes the best bacon sandwiches ever! Right Pacifism?"
Pacifism nodded absently over his magazine.
"We can have bacon sandwiches on the yacht! I'm going to make this cup a bacon cup." Isolde proceeded to slather brown and pink paint in wavy lines all over one of the mugs.

"Really? Dadda says it's like a cloud 'cause he gave me a cloud when he picked me up from the center thing." River nodded a bit. "Ohhhh I wanna make a bowl with food on it too!" River finished slathering the last of the paint on his current bowl before grabbing his final one. "Dadda, what should I put on it?" He looked up to Eno expectantly.
"Your favorite food. You like sour candies, right? Or bananas, you could paint it with bananas." Eno shrugged a little, barely glancing up to see what River was doing.
"Sour candies and bananas!" River poured out the proper paint onto a pallet and then began to sloppily paint sour candies on the bowl.

"Since I already painted my friend on one plate I'm gonna paint my new friend on the bowl," Isolde said, "and I'm gonna paint him with clouds and bacon cause we both like bacon but no Lock Nest monsters cause they might try to have eated us." Isolde started to paint anther vaguely human figure, but put fluffy white hair and blue clouds on this one, and added more pink and brown strips of bacon. Once she was done the first coat she picked it up (and smeared some of the clouds) and said, "River look! It's you!"

River stopped his painting to look at Isolde's bowl and grinned. "Thass really good!" He giggled. "Dadda lookit, Isolde painted me!" He looked to Eno, who looked up and stared at the bowl for a second before smiling. "That's really nice." He nodded and then went back to painting, since he was almost done with his last plate.
"I wanna paint you on here too... do you like sour candies or bananas?" River turned back to Isolde with a curious expression.

"Uh, I like banananas, but I don't like grapes. Grapes are gross." Isolde dipped a brush in green and started slathering at the inside of her cup. "I'm going to paint the Lock Nest monster on the inside of the dub because then he'll have to hold his breath in my juice and he can't eat us." Pacifism glanced up over his magazine. "I think the Loch Ness monster can breath in the water, Beauty."
"No it can't! You can't breathe water!" "Fish breath water." "Pacifism, you are silly." Isolde turned back to River. "Pacifism is silly. The Lock Nest monster can't breathe juice."

"You don't like grapes!?" River's eyes widened in surprise. "Grapes are sooooo tasty! Olives, too!" He shook his head a little. "At least you like bananas... they're tasty too." He sighed and went back to painting Isolde on his bowl. "Maybe he can breathe water but he can't breathe juice? You can't put water in there then." River nodded a little. "Otherwise he'll breathe and eat us."

"Milk should be ok then to, if juice is ok. And hot chocolate. And tea. But not water. That way we can't get eated." Isolde finished the Loch Ness monster in her cup, which looked like a green blob with yellow dot eyes. "When do you want to go on the yacht, River?" Isolde asked. "We should do it while it's warm so it is not too cold, but we have to wait for a little bit until Mother and Daddy get home so I can ask them about it and it will be great." Isolde was almost done her dishes, with a cup and a bowl left. She painted brown flecks all over one of the cups. "Look, Pacifism, I painted tea!" "That's great Beauty," he said from his magazine.

"Okay, I hope you don't forget." He nodded, everything she listed seemed to be alright to put in the cup. "Uhhhhh...." River looked to Eno, as if expecting his father to give them a date or something.
"Just ask your parents when they want to do it, and have someone call us, we'll likely be available to come." Eno looked up and turned his red eyes to Isolde as he spoke. "Does that work for you?" He raised a brow curiously, and River turned to look at Isolde as well, and tried to mimic his father's expression.

"Yeah! Daddy comes back in two days and he will say yes, I know he will. And then we will call you!" Isolde looked at River attempting to raise one eyebrow and giggled a little. One side of his face looked squashed from trying to only raise one. She copied his expression, too.

"All right, we'll expect a call in about two days then..." Eno stared at them a moment longer, wondering on what on earth they were doing. He sighed mentally and gave up on figuring it out. Kids were so strange sometimes...
"This is really hard." River gave up after a moment with a frown. "Maybe Dadda can teach me later and then I can teach you." He grinned again, "and then we can have a funny face competition!" He clapped his hands together confidently.
"Before you worry about that, I'd suggest finishing your bowls because we have to go soon. I still have to go to work today, River." Eno glanced to the mostly half painted bowls River had and frowned. "Oh, okay Dadda..." River sighed and went back to finishing his bowls. "Is your Dadda at work?" He asked Isolde while attempting to paint a perfect banana.

After Isolde finished giggling at River's face, she said, "Daddy took Mother into the city and they got all dressed up. They said they had some parties to go to and they would drink bubbly and Daddy said they would bring me back a present but no one told me what bubbly is so I think it's like soda." She started slathering more blue on her last bowl, decided she would have a duck pond bowl to match her duck pond plate.

"Ohhhh, my Dadda never goes to parties, but he leaves me with Jen the babysitter when he goes to work." River nodded a bit. "She never sits on me, I think it's 'cause I'm not a baby. I'm four." He grinned, "bubbly sounds like soda... I had soda once and then I got really excited and Dadda said I couldn't have it again." He sighed dramatically and cast a look at Eno, which was ignored. Eno had learned not to give River too many sugary things at once early on.

"I get soda sometimes with lunch but usually I get milk or juice. I don't get baby sat either but I'm not a baby and I don't have a baby sitter. Someone in the house just watches me." Isolde was working on the duck in her duck pond bowl. "It looks like you're almost done, Isolde." Pacifism said. "Yeah," Isolde blobbed in another yellow duck. "Well River and his Dad are going to have to go soon, so when you're finished we have to go to, ok? You can see River on the yacht." Isolde looked disappointed, but said, "Ok."
