A noise startled Fenix.. Glancing up from his spot, he noticed a kid had fell over and his things were scattered along the ground. He shrugged and decided to help the kid. He really was in an odd mood today. He called out as he was walking over to the kid. "Mind if I help you out? You took quite the fall." He helped the boy to his feet and gave a friendly smile. He glanced at the mess on the ground for a bit. "Your a bit of an artist I.." The images on the papers made him stop mid sentence. He stared for a bit before shaking it off. Afterwards he went to pick up many of the oh-so-familiar looking drawings.

Leon rubbed his face as he got up and glanced at the guy that came to help pick up his scattered drawings, "Uh, thanks.." he raised a brow when the stranger paused for a moment, just staring at one of the drawings before picking up more, "..yeah..they're kinda strange or whatever, I know.." Leon thought the stranger, like so many others, didn't like the creatures he drew from the shift..which was why he didn't really show them to people anymore. He distractedly gathered the remaining drawings before looking back at the stranger awkwardly, mostly wanting his drawings back, but curious as to why the stranger cut himself off..even others that saw it finished what they were saying before making fun of him.

Looking over the drawing on the top of his current stack he looked up at the boy and gave him his friendly smile ocne again. "Quite the artist. These are really good, to be honest. Definatelly not something you see every day." He handed the papers back to the boy. "I'm Fenix. First name's Jacob, but I like my last name more." He gave out his hand to gesture their accuantaince.

Jac was sitting on his bed, with his music blasted really loud to keep him awake. He knew from stories, of people who had the same dream as him, that if he slept, he could die. He's been up for 3 days straight, and suffered constant migrains.

When the stranger, Fenix, handed his drawings back Leon put them back in the folder that was in his sketchbook. He looked at the offered hand for a moment before deciding to try being normal again and shaking his hand. "Leon Strauss...and no..not every day, they mostly during the night..can't sleep during the day that well." he stopped himself 'cause knew he was going into what normal people thought was psycho babble. "Um..I like your last name too, definitely cooler." Leon tried to change the subject before another labeled him as crazy.

Jac looked out his window, and saw the 2. He caught the slightest glimpse of the picture. "What?" He asked himself.

A little rough around the edges, but I was too back then. He noticed the change of subject, and couldn't blame Leon for it. Even Jacob had to get away from the shift when he had to. THough right now, he decided to play the naieve passer-by. "So you dream about these things? Rather morbid dream if I say so myself. I must admit though, as I'm an artist, it's nice to draw, or in my case paint, what we see in our dreams." He sat down on the nearby bench. "And as artists we can't seem to accept our art as people. We're afraid of people judging us on how we see the world. Yet we can't help but put out the images that we see, even if we know that nobody else can truly see things the way we do." He enjoyed getting into people's minds with all his 'deep' talking. It made things more interesting, certainly.

Jac went to his front door and opened it. He could not take his eyes off those drawings. Before he knew it he was right next to them. What the....?
"Uhh... hi? sorry bought that." He said slightly embarassed.

((it's okay, I forgot to check before I posted. 3nodding ))
Leon nodded a little, not entirely agreeing..but he was starting that Jacob was a little different..and ended up putting him with the normal art nuts. "That sounds good...but for me it's mostly an outlet.." Leon decided to go with the 'head trauma' crap his doctors spouted when they couldn't figure out what made him dream of the shift. "I was in an accident some years ago and the doctors said I needed something to focus on..and I've always been good at drawing.." the last part was true, but also the creatures were a bit too much for a person to simply forget the details. When a boy suddenly appeared next to them Leon jumped a bit and his PSP fell out of his pocket.. that worried him more then the boy and he quickly picked up the PSP and checked it over, it was fine. He clutched both his PSP and his sketchbook tightly as he raised a brow at the boy, but wasn't sure what to say.

Jac jumped as he did. "I am so sorry! i'm just really tired, feels like i'm on the movie 'nightmare on elm street'." He said with a tiring laugh.

The new kid was a bit strange.. well, more strange than most. "How is this.. like a horror movie? You just met new people.. and you approached us." He thought more about what to say next, but nothing really came to mind.

"I have enough 'nightmares' already..." Leon said with a sigh, he was already a bit jumpy in the regular world as it was.. if the boy had done that in the shift it wouldn't have bothered him. He glanced at Fenix then back at the boy, approached wasn't really the right word..he appeared like when Leon didn't get home on time..and he said he was tired. Leon's paranoia kicked in and he started to think the boy was after him because of something he saw in the shift and he slowly backed away a few steps.

He noticed as Leon took a step back. Maybe he felt crowded.. but then again, who was the new kid and what drew him to just randomly say, "Hi" we were simply talking by ourselves, most people would randomly walk by. Then again.. Jacob already knew him and Leon weren't normal by any means. Could it be the reason he wanted to take a walk, maybe they were all drawn to eachother like they were to the shift. That would of course be if the new kid knew about the shift too.. It wouldn't hurt to try and hint to it at least. "Well, nightmares aren't that bad. That is if you know how to beat them" One might assume he was referring to a bad dream, as neither of the two boys knew he had any idea about the shift. As far as Leon knew, he was just an artist enjoying some free time in the park. The new kid seemed tired and spacey, like most anyone who'se been Shift-dreaming for a while.

Leon glanced between the two and thanks to his paranoia he was starting to wonder about Fenix too.. Leon was used to the sudden appearances, well at least personally in the shift, seeing someone else do it was strange..but that was what started making him wonder about Fenix, a normal person wouldn't be that calm after seeing someone appear out of thin air. Mostly it was also because nobody really acted nice toward him anymore, even strangers..but Leon ended up with the wrong assessment for both of them and narrowed his gaze, "...you Nightmares are the worst..imitations of life..cloaked reapers..."
((Yay for paranoia! ^_^ ))

Oh s**t.. I knew I should have stayed in bed this morning. Leon was obviously someone who had been accustomed to the shift for much too long. Fenix took a step back. "Take a deep breath Leon. We aren't your enemies, and we most certainly aren't nightmares. Not yet.. anyways." He'd seen many of his fellow dreamers fall in the shift, and their bodies slowly twisted into that of a nightmare. Personally, he found it to be the best time to kill it, the second it became a nightmare. At the same time, it was worse for someone if you knew.. no, were friends with the dreamer. Teetering on uncertainty wheather or not your friend was about to become your enemy. Your best chance is to run, and fast. It's better not to see the nightmare once it forms, otherwise when you see it again.. if you see it again, you hesitate. In the Shift, hesitation ends in death. Damn.. why did I have to run into a dreamer? He took another step back.
