why? it's more like a 'why not' for me. I guess it started when my parents were divorcing and dad's (ex)girlfriend's younger sister stayed with them over the summer. she was a begining wiccan also and we kinda got serious about this over that summer...

let me back up. I'm from a 'psychic' family on both sides. my mom sees ghosts and they help her find people, as well as my grandmothers on both sides. I have 'it' a little, but not enough to have anything 'tangible' to talk about for proof... I guess I felt a little left out sometimes because of it.

the ironic thing about it, my mom's a complete gung-ho church-goer and thus I couldn't really do anything to assert my own individuality. in fact, I didn't even know it was possible for me to be anything aside from a christian until I went to a synagog with my cousins when I was about eight or so. the jewish faith is interesting, but it's all the same for me.

I know that pleanty of christians (including my best friend) will disagree with me on this, but I think christianity is purely 'man-power.' I'm not against men, but there's just something not right where women are openly shunned in the bible, and when they're not shunned, they're sinners. when my mom found out that I was interested in being a 'witch,' she immediately sat me down with a bible and had me read practially an entire chapter!

it's sad that I don't practice openly any more, but I do notice subtle things that make me belive in things that are different than what I was taught to be 'right.' no one in my family is entirely sure that I'm doing 'wiccan' things, but I think I practice enough to be considered at least a beginner.

My journy to Wicca was a interesting one in my mind. I was raised in an athiast houshold but I can remember praying to the stars and moon as a young child. I began seeing and sensing spirits at a young age and the first thing I told my mom I wanted to be when I grew up was a witch (kinda ironic now ^-^). I always believed in fairies, elves and other so called "makebelieve beings." Untill I was 15 I didn't even know what Wicca was much less that it was a religion. I don't remember where I first heard of Wicca only that it clicked with me. My first book was "To Ride a Silver Bromstik," ( I know people have a problem with this book but to me as a beginer it made sence) after that I looked it up on the web, and began buying books as often as posible. I couldn't get enuff of it. Seven years later it feels like I've been Wiccan all my life. After all those years of knowing something was different about me I finaly feel at home.

Wow...just wow, you guys. lol

I grew up without a religion because my mom believes I should choose my own religion. When I was about 8, I only knew about Christianity and Judiasm. I tried to figure out which one I was but kind of dropped it after I couldn't figure it out.
When I was either 9 or 10, I asked my mom what religion /she/ was because I was curious about religion again and kind of felt I need guidance. She said she was Wiccan and I asked her what that was and she gave me a book to read (which isn't unusual for her razz ; it's not that she wants me to read more, she just doesn't feel like explaining things to me herself). The book was 'Living Wicca' by Scott Cunningham. It's still on my bookshelf and I still read it every so often.

my dad was Pagan... But I actually never got the chance to talk to him much about his beliefs.. (Hes passed on)....

But one day I just woke up and thought about it... I think mum was a bit skeptical at first (the whole Wicca) but now shes cool she buys me stuff and tells everyone Im Wiccan and she is getting a bit into it....

And now she says it explains alot from when I was a child... lol...

My boyfriend ( heart heart ) Is Wiccan, but he was born into the religion...
I don't think I could be with someone who is not Wiccan except I didnt' know that he was until after we had been going out for a little bit

I've always been into magick, first TV magic, and then real magick. I'd been studying this on and off when finally, at age 13 me and my friends did our self dedication ritual, and started studying a little everyday.

I was orgionally christian, but that whole religion never made much sense to me. >_> i was atheist for a year, and then I got into mythology and psychic stuff. That slowly developed into an interest in Wicca, which turned into me today: An electic witch, sorta. I wont consider myself a witch until this summer, when I do my initiation. (June 25!) I'm still pretty much a noob at the craft too, but i got into it because it just felt so right to me.

Well, I'm fairly new to the whole thing. My first year will be July 4th. Right now I'm in the middle of choosing two different paths. I chose to follow, because it was like I felt a strong connection to it. It's hard to explain it's like that's what I'm supposed to be. It has changed me it gave me a sense of hope, courage, and me being proud to be me. Earlier I wasn't like that before.
