Rishy feasted and feasted good. the meat was warm and dripping. it was fine meat. she had never had deer before, and it was so much more tender that rabbit and squirrel. she savored every bite, but ate with a ravenous speed. she eat everything too. she did not want to miss out on any experience of this kill. she ate the heart, the liver, the eyes, and anything else that fell under her paws. by the time she had actually made it to the real meat of the deer she was getting full, but she did not stop. who knows when she would have a chance like this again. she ate and ate, and when she was full she vomited in a bush, and then returned to eat some more. she was savage and feirce, and it showed as she tore at the side of the deer.

when she was finally satisfied that she had tried everything, she grabbed the deers neck in her mouth and began to drag it. she would take it to her other kill, the big buck, and there she would remain for several days until she had finished eating all the meat and there was nothing left but the bones to chew on.

she found the other stag and lay her second kill next to her first. she dipped her paws in the blood and then went and wiped the blood on surronding trees and rocks. she even went as far as to make a circle of blood on the ground around the area of her kill. this was to ensure that no lesser creature would approach while she feasted. but at the same time it would draw in larger foes and somehow, in Rishy's mind she saw it as an opportunity to boast on her fine hunting job. her young mind could not grasp the concept of her meal being stolen.
once finished marking the area in blood she returned to her kills and began to eat some more. it had been a glorious day of food.

Xanti scarfed down the doe, eating all of the flesh and meat. It didn’t take him very long. He needed to restore his energy supplies quickly, so he literally inhaled it, only leaving the smaller bones behind. He devoured the larger ones for their marrow, but the smaller ones, and the skull, would be more of a hassle then they were worth. Finished, Xan, slightly more rotund then before, headed back towards the clearing.

He moved slower then he had coming in, not really bothering to rush. His feet had cooled off, his hunger was satiated and there was another, larger stag, lying dead for him at the edge of the forest. It had been a good hunt. The smell of blood lingered in the forest, and with every breathe Xan was feeling more content. If he was a cat he would have purred. As it was, he emitted a few low rumbles of happiness under his breath. This ended abruptly when Xan suddenly caught a stronger whiff of blood ahead. There was a puddle of it, with tufts of fur and hair. It smelled of deer and Cat.

Stunted killer.

It wasn’t hard to figure out where she had gone. A blood smear zigzagged through the forest. Easy enough to follow. So it didn’t take him long to find the end of the rainbow, or the end of the blood smear in this case.

Xan examined her nest. She had placed blood on all the objects in the small clearing; the rocks, the trees and even a ring of blood on the ground. The stunted killer sat in the middle, gorging on one of the two carcasses in front of her. One had been disemboweled but its flesh remained somewhat intact. The other one didn’t look like it had been touched too much yet. Xan's thoughts took on a dry edge as he inspected the massacre site.

Stunted killer looks as though she is the prey here, not those flat teeth...she is absolutely smeared in their blood. What did she do, roll in it? ...Silly creature was probably overcome by bloodlust even after she had made her kills.
I wonder... has she regained her sense yet? Well, only one way to tell.

Xan surveyed the skinwalker before moving forward, shifting into the stunted killer’s line of vision. He slowly stooped his head down, still in view, and began to lap at the blood. Glowing eyes focused on the cat. Watching for reaction.

Rishy was gnawing on the deers hind when she herd a sound behind her. she jumped to her feet with a fierce hiss on her tongue. before her was the other hunter. she must have not smelled him coming with all the blood around. he was lapping at the blood on the ground. Rishy took a step forward her adrenaline still pumping from the chase. "finished your kill and now your here to take mine." she shook her head, blood flinging from her fur. "well you cant have it, its mine!" he hackles were raised and claws extended. she was ready to protect this meat with her life.

Xanti snorted and slowly raised his head, making no jerky movements. He appeared quite non-threatening at the moment. Mainly because he didn’t know what he wanted. Puzzled Xan just stood there and stared at her, thoughts racing.

Why did I follow her here? Is it because of her meat? No...not really. Well. Maybe...but hrmm. In case she got injured? Not likely....Why did I follow her here?

Maybe Xan wanted her meat or maybe he just wanted to see how she had fared. Or maybe, at the back of his mind, he was thinking of making another deal with her. One that would benefit them both if they met again. He wanted to form an alliance of sorts with her, a truce as it will. Unfortunately his subconscious didn’t enlighten him on this, it just left him confused.

Finally he focused on her. Glowing eyes taking in her raised hackles, extended claws and fierce demeanour. It was Xan’s first time seeing such a small soquili and he didn’t want to be rid of the oddity just yet, although he still had another stag carcass to find.

...But teasing the stunted killer could be entertaining.

Xan eased further into her clearing, licking the blood off his lips, whilst continuing to gaze straight at her. He was sending mixed signals. A dominant stare backed by non-menacing actions.

Rishy glared at the large stallion. he did not seem like he was going to attack, but at the same time he kept coming closer. Rishy was not sure what to do. if she attacked him it would be a bloody fight and she was already tired from the hunt. would it give him the wrong idea if she just ignored him? Rishy held a few cards in this situation, she was a good fighter, she had the meat, and she could still feel the crazed bloodlust in the corner of her mind. she did not want this male to treat her as a lesser, she was an equal.

Rishy gave him one last death stare before she turned her back and returned to the carcass. she nestled herself in-between the two kills and began to eat again, but this time her every sense was trained on Xanti. she could smell the stallion, feel his movements through the earth, and hear his breathing. if he made any sudden movements she would be on him like wild fire to a dead forest.

She ignored him.

Well that wasn’t very fun.

Xanti snorted again and watched as she resumed eating. Then he finally decided to speak. “The plan succeeded. You got two, I got two. Now aren’t you happy that you didn’t decide to attack me?

He didn’t bother waiting for an answer, just darted back into the brushes. He had to find that last stag before something else did. Like vultures. He would not be pleased if the carrion eaters took the choicest parts.

It was fairly easy to figure out what direction to head in. Light had penetrated one edge of the forest, indicating that the clearing was that way. So Xan headed that way. Once he finally made it to the clearing he stopped. The deer had regrouped for the most part, a little ways off. They were down three bucks and one doe but it didn’t seem that detrimental to the herd. There were still a number of deer left. The one stag whose throat he'd ripped out lay not too far off, so Xan made his way over to it. Flies had started to swarm, but it seemed to be intact. No eyes were missing and no skin was ripped other then its throat. It seemed that the carrion eaters hadn’t yet moved in.

Xan grabbed the stag behind the neck and muscled it into the shade of the forest. He wasn’t going to let it sit out in the sun to rot quicker. Now the question was whether he should head back to the stunted killer’s little clearing or stay here for the next day or so. Figuring she would provide more entertainment, he began to drag his catch back her way.

Rishy just rolled her eyes as she watched the stallion run away. "stupid, why even come back." she was quite full by now and focused on making her bed for the night. she went to the second deer and tore an opening at the base of its neck. she gave a quick look around to make sure that Xanti really had left, and the proceeded to take out the deers guts. it was tedious work for she did not want to damage the carcass. once all the guts were removed she went to the edge of the clearing and threw them into the trees. nothing screamed Keep Away like intestines dripping from the branches.

Satisfied with her work, Rishy went back to the carcass and stuck her head into the opening she had made. the fit looked about right for it was a large stag. not to mention, as Xanti likes to put it, she is stunted and small, so she would fit. she wiggled her way into the deers body and carefully turned around so that her head was by the cut in the throat. it was extremely tight, she could not move and was just short enough to the point were she could see out of the body, but nothing could see her. from outside it looked like the deer had a swollen belly. Rishy purred at the warmth of the meat around her. it would not stay warm for long, but she did not care, it made a night nest to sleep in.

It was not easy work moving the carcass, but once Xan got a better hold on the back of its neck, it was somewhat easier to drag. Still, it seemed to get catch on every log and branch that he passed, making it exceedingly difficult to pull. Soon Xan was annoyed enough that he started snapping at twigs and branches in an attempt to make it slightly easier to tow. And it did help to some degree. But Xan was still disgruntled at all the strength he was using on such a stupid endeavor. He should have just stayed near the clearing. After an exceedingly long and frustrating period of time, he came across intestines. Hanging in the trees.

Lovely. It only took Xan two bites to devour them.

Then he dragged the stag into Rishy’s clearing. She was gone. But it wasn’t too hard to figure out where. One of her carcasses had become sickly bloated. Grotesque almost. Xan eyed it before glancing up to the treetops. From what he could see, the sun was making its way to the horizon quite steadily. Its heat had ebbed and streaks of red and yellow painted the sky. Night was soon to come and the stunted killer had already made a den for herself.

Xan dragged his catch a little ways away before laying down next to it. He draped his head over its back; much like a lover would, and gazed out at the little clearing. He had positioned himself so that he was directly facing the bloated deer. His back to the trees. If the stunted killer moved out of her cocoon Xanti would be able to see her from this vantage point.

Rishy rolled her eyes as she heard the hunter approaching. it wasent that hard to hear him, the sound of him dragging the deer was easy enough to pick out. she could almost see him standing at the edge of the clearing, but not enough to be comfortable. she tried to rearrange herself to see him better, but the deer hide just couldn't handle it. the side of the stag split and she came tumbling out in a mess of flailing limbs. she quickly got to her feet and hissed at Xanit. it was a little embarrassing that her hiding spot had been so easily foiled, but she pushed the feeling down and focused her anger on the horned male in-front of her.

her eyes narrowed and her ears were pinned to her head, a low rumble came from her throat. "i dont get you. you got what you want, i did my job and you did yours. it is time for you to leave. i dont see any reason for you to stay here, so if there is one then please enlighten me. what could you possibly gain from hanging around. what is so important that you would drag that carcass here just to eat in my clearing?" she was not yelling, but she was definitely not trying to be quiet. this male was starting to get on her nerves.

Xan raised his head up to look at the stunted killer as she came rolling out of her burrow. Amused he let out a small huff of laughter at her flustered appearance.

I bet she’s going to pin her embarrassment on me…so like a cat.

And when she turned to him all frustrated and yelling he was even more amused. Oh cats. “What could I possibly gain from hanging around? What could I possibly gain from hanging around?” He pretended to mull over the question for a few seconds. “Entertainment.” He gave her a tongue lolling grin, looking well satisfied with his answer. “And plus you’ve made such a …nice nesting spot that I can’t help but want to stick around.” Xan’s nostrils flared as he spoke the last words. He could still smell the heavy scent of blood, but with his belly full, he was no longer compelled to eat. In fact he wasn’t compelled to much other then lie with his stag and wait for nightfall to come. Which it was. Fast. The streaks of red and orange had disappeared into the bluish hue of dusk.

Rishy sneered at him. she did not want him around, he was obnoxious and she could do better without him. "has anyone ever told you that you smell bad." she sniffed the air and then shook her head as if to emphasize the point. "i would be surprised if anyone ever saw you as anything more than a beast, a dirty stinking animal with too many horns for its head. i bet thats why you have no brains, there isnt enough room in your head with all those spikes." she smirked at her own joke and walked back to her kill, attempting to salvage it as a bed.

Xanti chortled again as the stunted killer tried to insult him. It was hilarious that the small feline thought her words were poisonous when they were so harmless. He raised his nose and sniffed, just to humor her.

"I smell of blood and guts, which isn't a bad smell...and, unfortunately, we smell fairly similar at the moment. Are you saying that you are also a dirty stinking animal?" He was still amused by her antics and couldn't stop grinning even if he tried. "...plus I'd rather be an animal with too many horns in my head than a cat any day... and you're only a partial cat at that. I'm starting to think you don't even know your true form." Xanti's tone remained lighthearted throughout his little spiel, but towards the end it started to sound a bit like an accusation. Like he was prying into why she hadn't yet changed.

a small growl built up in Rishy's throat. life was so unfair to her. if she was bigger this stupid male would not be treating her like this. "ha whatever that means. like i could care less." she angrily kneaded the deer hide while talking, not wanting to look at him. but then something he said caught in her mind. she turned to him and cocked her head. "true form? what on earth are you talking about." it sounded kind of familiar but the term seemed to be hiding in the back of her mind were she could not find it.

Oooo that caught his attention. Xanti cocked his head back at her, in disbelief and a little bit of joy. Really? Could she really not know? The stunted killer was indeed stunted, and far less dangerous than he had anticipated. This was turning out to be an amusing evening.

"Ahhh...so you don't know?"
Xanti's drawled out the question. "Well I don't think I should be the one to tell you. It's not up to me to reveal the secrets of your kind." He was having fun with this, he had finally caught the cat's interest. "Although...ahh no, not my place to talk about their transformations and such" Xanti yawned exaggeratedly. "It's a pity ... you would make a great one"

Rishy was curious, but asking this stupid male would be like admitting defeated, and she wasent ready to give into him. instead she decided it would be better to try and play it off. "oh, my transformations. there is no secret in that, everyone knows about that." she sneered at him. what the heck did he mean by transformations? all of these fancy words were making her angry. he was probobly just throwing out words to make it seem like he knew more than her. "ya i just dont like my true form all that much."
