She was pleased that he allowed her to change the subject, she had a habit of sticking her hoof in her mouth sometime. She walked along at his side, taking in the sight of the new lands.
"My father always warned us of the two leggers. He said they would make us slaves... Or dinner...." she looked over to Ironforge, "Do they eat us?"

Well when you really broke it down Ironforge couldn't really argue with the slave part. He'd always preferred to think of it as a 'partnership' but when it came right down to it - there had always been the two-legger giving the orders and him following them. He was glad she hadn't asked about that part as he'd be hard pressed to explain things with any sort of sense. "Maybe some" He told her - though he himself had never seen it amidst hi two-leggers "There are many different groups of two-legger's" He explained "And they are all different from one another...like herds" He finalized, glancing at her to see if she understood at all. She'd said she lived with her family but he had no idea if she had any worldly knowledge beyond that. Herds had seemed like the easiest metaphor to use.
When he turned back he could see the glint of water through the trees and motioned with his muzzle "we are almost there"

She nodded her head as he refered to them as herds, she understood what he was trying to say. "So some of them are like skinwalkers...or kalonas.... But the rest are like us..." she pondered on this for a moment.
She looked up and saw the glisten of water coming into view, she broke into a smile. She was so thirsty, the cool water would be refreshing. "Thank you, Ironforge...." she said softly as she smiled up to him.

"Precisely" He told her with a slight nod of his head rather glad that she had understood what he was trying to say - he really couldn't think of another way to explain it. Thankfully that wouldn't be a problem.
Reaching the water Ironforge shook his head lightly as she thanked him, turning about to hide his embarrassment with the task of looking for any potential dangers. "Only doing what should be done" He told her briskly as he eyed the shoreline and the trees beyond, searching with a studied eye for any movements...but he could see nothing save the swaying of tree and grass in wind. "Seem's safe enough" He told her in a pleased tone. "You can rest here and I shall keep watch" He offered.

After a few drinks of the cool water, Kamala took a few steps away and lay down in the shade. Looking over to the male she smiled, "You're a very kind stallion, Ironforge."
Her small family never had much to do with those they didn't know. Especially if they had looked in the slightest bit dangerous. "I wish my parents could have met you..." she said before lowering her head to the earth. "They would have liked you,"

Ironforge gave the young mare a kind smile once she'd laid her head down - her parents sounded like a good sort of Soquilli and he rather wished he could have met them too. But it was always the good sort who got run over by the bad it seemed - it's really to bad the Kalonas and Skinwalkers wouldn't just kill each other off and leave the rest of them in peace. Wishful thinking that.
"Rest" He told Kamala in a gruff but...caring voice. "We can talk more when you awake" He stated, assuring her that he would be there hen she did. She wouldn't wake alone and he hoped that help at least a little bit.

Kamala just smiled up at the stallion. Her eyes were heavy and she desperately needed the sleep and rest that he offered. It calmed her nerves to know that he would be watching over her as she lie there in the shade. Within moments, she was fast asleep and dreaming.
