Keanu glanced up as he heard another click, eyeing the one on the couch. Raja was off at work today, meaning he was left with one of the family members. Hmm, he really didn't understand this one either. He never seemed truly happy, and it seemed impossible to make him smile. He always had that same dour expression, as if the world was about to fall in around him. It left the boy rather perplexed. Still, there wasn't much to be done at the moment, he was watching TV, some show about old castles. He wasn't really paying attention, he'd been busy coloring. Turning back to his masterpiece, he picked up a rather bright pink crayon, giving the kangaroo some spots on it's brilliant blue coat. This actually caught the other's eye long enough to recieve some sort of comment, as well as a confused look.

"Hmm, I had no idea they where blue, and pink..." The older feline murmured.

"Wehl, I dunno wah tei ahr sus I jus cahlehr wah I tenk tei ahr." The boy replied, working at the K with the pink crayon, though watching the other to see if finally he'd found a way to break through that wall of sadness.

"Oh, I see." Was all that came, and there it was again, that blank look. It confused Keanu, it didn't seem like Tai-Yun had any reason to be so depressed, no one bullied him, or made him each nasty green things he didn't like. So why was he always like that?

"Tai-Tai!" He called, pushing himself to his feet, and shoving his crayons toward the open box, as he pushed himself to his feet. "Cahn I goh geh ah snahk?" He asked, glancing toward where the kitchen would be through the hallway. Actually he'd said that for a reason, earlier he'd spotted Haruki heading in there, which meant he'd likely cooked something that even spinach couldn't ruin, though he hoped it wasn't that. Haru had made some chocolatey things the other day, he was hoping for more of those.

((Note- Haru can cook anything he has a recipe for, he has no taste for making up stuff, but give him a recipe for chocolate truffles, and they'll taste good. Haru's a faster learner. <3))

"Mm... I suppose..." The other replied, seeming to be deciding if this was one of those times he should go with the boy. "Be back within ten minutes, or I'll be coming to find you. Alright?" The boy nodded, stepping over his work to go see if there was something good to eat in the kitchen. He knew the time limit wasn't for eating it, everyone ate in the family room, which was why Raja had decided a darker theme for the room was a good idea, to hide any stains. Everything was an emerald green. Personally he liked the color, and Tai-Yun often chose that room for hanging out in as well, due to the fact Tai-Yun didn't like too much light. Which left Keanu wondering... Why didn't he just move into the downstairs? Sure Raja had said he couldn't go down there, but it seemed like no one ever did. What was down there? He had to wonder. Oh well, that was for another day, for now... He could smell something, and it smelled good.

He wandered down the cream colored hallway, passing various rooms as he did. A bathroom, Issale's room... Music could be heard behind the door as usual, but the boy wasn't going to waste time listening to it today, it wasn't bad, though he didn't understand any of it. Issale said it was Japonesy music... Or something like that. Which still didn't mean anything to Keanu. Ah there it was, the kitchen door. He pushed the door open, glancing in. There was the red head, checking something on the counter. As much as he seemed to like being alone, he also had a bit of a sweet tooth it seemed. He liked cooking those goodies from time to time. The other paused though as Keanu stepped in, obviously having heard the noise. He turned his head, glancing in that direction. Keanu knew he was looking even though the others eye was hidden as usual. It was wierd, but that guy liked to always have his hair hang over his right eye. It was pretty rare that he ever had it out of the way, only when he was in the process of cooking... Seeing as how it was closed, that meant... Whatever smelled so good must be done.

"Hmm, Keanu... What are you doing here?" The other asked, glancing back to what he'd been working on, and paying the child little mind. He never really did seem to care what Keanu did, as long as he didn't bother him.

"Ahm hher tah geh ah snahk." He replied, smiling brightly. He knew very well that Haru knew he wanted some of whatever he'd cooked, but this was the usual way of things. Haruki never assumed anything regarding the boy. If he didn't know the person, he felt it was same to think they where unpredictable. And well, Haru didn't seem to like knowing people. So as it went, they had this chat rather often. It was more like a scene acted out. "Cahn I hav sum uf wah yah mehd?" He asked, starting forward to see just what it was the other had infact made.

The other shrugged. "I suppose, just a moment, let me cut you a piece." Came the bland, emotionless voice. It seemed to Keanu that Haru worked at being grumpy, unlike Tai-Yun who just had a gloomy disposition naturally. Haru seemed to try, and keep people away, locking himself in his room, or being gone. Sometimes he wasn't back for a week. Now it wasn't any of Keanu's business, but that didn't seem quite right... Why push people away? Oh well, he wasn't about to ask about it now... Nope, he had a snack to get. It wouldn't do to bring up the others annoyed side, because that would mean one less good tasting thing. "Here you go." The other said, turning around, and holding out a plat to Keanu, on it was what looked like a nice chunk of a brownie. The boy grinned at the other, taking the plate.

"Tahnk yah, Harukeh" He replied, turning to start out the door, before glancing over his shoulder to excuse his speed exit. Of course there wasn't a need, Haru had returned to cutting up the brownie, and putting most of it on a platter for anyone, and a bit to take to his room. "Ahma guh bahk tuh Tai-Tai nahw." He called, before pushing the door back open, and closing it behind him. Raja insisted that doors should be kept closed at all times. Something else Keanu didn't understand, but oh well. No use wondering too much over it. Back down the hall, this time a new music was blarring through the door, boy Issale played music loud. It was a wonder he didn't go deaf. And back into the living room, where Tai-Yun glanced up as he reentered, before looking back a book. Apparently he'd gone to find something to read while the boy was gone.

"Welcome back, try not to make too much of a mess." The other called, flipping a page casually.

"I wun." He replied, sitting down next to his worksheet, and crayons again, with his plate next to him. Hmm... He wondered if he could color in this next sheet with brownie smears... That might be interesting... He'd have to try that. The boy munched down a bite of the still slightly warm brownie, before picking up a crayon again, and coloring some more. If it could smear on clothes, certainly it would on paper to. Yeah, he'd try that as soon as he finished this one.

'Dear D.Corp, or whomever it may concern,

I am writing to you regarding Keanu. Oh certainly, he's a good boy, and quite darling. Quite the... Interesting addiction to the house. But I must ask, perhaps I may be going about this wrong, but... He seems so hyper. Even moreso than I would have imagined him to be, is this something that is common? Or perhaps I am just not doing something right... Too much sugar in his diet, I could see about not giving him so many of those Sweedish Fish he adores. Though I'd have trouble denying him his snacks. But still, it seems he's more active than usual. From running off in the supermarket, to climbing every tree within hands reach. His energy is near boundless, and he's quite the handful. It's not that I am complaining, or do not wish to care for him, it's simply a concern, if he remains like this, it may effect his classwork, and...'

The woman paused in her writing, glancing up as she looked at the boy, and is now slightly soggy plushie. He'd decided it needed a bath. What was it the boy liked to call the toy his friend Sahra had sent him... Miff wasn't it? Yes, he named it Miff. Though the boy tended to pronounce it Meffeh. So she wasn't sure if she had it right. Still... Plushies didn't belong in the bath, she'd send it through the dryer later. "Keanu... Leave Miff in the bathroom until he dries out please, I don't want you catching a cold." The boy gave her a slightl look, before glancing at the dool, who was dripping onto the floor.

"Heis nah suh weh..."

"Please put him in the bathroom, play with Rah-Rah instead perhaps?" She suggested, shaking her head slightly as the boy toddled off to do as he was told. Hopefully...

She turned back to the letter with a sigh.

'...his health. Perhaps he is just naive, but he tempts to overlook the truth in the most stubborn of ways, insisting on things that are obviously untrue. Such as his new favourite toy, stuffed toys don't belong in the water, be he continues to insist that they do, even afterI try to point out facts. I'm not sure if it's just because he is a child, or if it has to do with my action. But can't imagine. Certainly he enjoys books, but everything he reads, or that is read to him, he goes off hunting for it. And it does not seem so natural. Perhaps you might be able to give me some insight as to how to go about dealing with these issues, so to better both Keanu, and myself. As I feel I may die with worry if he runs off again out in public. He might get kidnapped, or hit by a car if he wandered into a street. Heaven forbid such a thing happen. Thus, I look forward to any possible insight you might be able to give me in a reply.

Sincerely,
Miss Raja'

She glanced up from her letter as she heard the uneven footsteps again, and glanced over her shoulder at the boy, who had returned with both Rah-Rah, a lion toy she'd given him, and Miff. A sigh escaped her, as she ran her hand through her bands. "Keanu-" She was about to start as the boy held up the purple, and pink toy to her.

"Mehk Meffeh drei?" He asked, obviously having taken his adoptive motheres advice for once.

A smile drew along her face, as she took the toy. "Mm, yes, let's do that now." She said, rubbing the others head affectionately, and standing up to move toward the exit of the room with the soggy thing in one hand, and holding her other out for the boy, who took it, dragging Rah-Rah along with his spare. "So you like Miff hmm? Well you have to write a thank you note to Sahra for him, don't you?"

He nodded. "Yeh teink yah es guhd." He replied, smiling, as oblivious as usual. "Enna wei senna hehr summin tuh?" He asked, tilting his head to one side so to see the taller woman better.

"I suppose so, we'll go shopping for that tomarrow then?" She suggested, as they reached the laundry room, and opened the empty dryer, before playing the little plushie in with a sheet so to keep it soft.

"Yuh, etta beh fuhn yeh!" He exclaimed, pausing to watch as the his mum turned the dial. "Es Meffeh gunna beh okeh?" He asked, eyeing the cold machine.

"Mm hmm, he'll be fine soon, and dry so you can play with him some more. Just wait a bit." She replied, pushing the button as a humm escaped the machine, and it spun into action. The pair stepped out of the room, and Keanu gave the plush one last look before starting off down the hall with a wave in the direction of his room.

Raja sighed, shaking her head lightly, and heading back toward the den, spotting the letter she'd written. Placing her hand over it she crumpled the page lightly laughing. "Ah who am I kidding, he's just as crazy as me. He'll grow out of it." She called to no one in particular, before using both hands to ball up the letter, and turning toward thenearest wastebasket, and shooting the ball at it like a basketball. "Score~!" She yelled, as she managed to pull off a shot for once, and turned pulling the switch for the lamp she'd used. The light clicked off, and she wandered out of the room. "Who needs help, I can handle this just fine... With a new bottle of asparin I'll buy tomarrow." She added, crossing her arms behind her head, and starting down the hall. "And if I can't, well then I'll take some parenting classes when I have time. So it'll be fine." She added, snickering. As if she'd ever take a class in anything.

'I do hope that D.Corp can read this... Keanu's handwriting has improved somewhat, but... Well I'm sure it will get better with time.'

"No, Keanu. You may not." Came a reply from Raja as she tapped her pencil on a desk. In front of her where what might have been seen as gibberish to anyone else. Obviously though it made perfect sense to her, something for work. The boy wasn't sure, and rubbed his head, frowning.

"But mum, Tsuya went out shopping with Tai-Yun, an' there's nothing on TV. It's not raining that hard." Came the boys reply, as he glanced around the room. "There's nothing to do with no one over to play with. Issale isn't here either. I won't get too wet..."

"Absolutely not. You know I'd find something for us to do, but if I don't finish this today I'm going to have so much trouble in the morning. I'm sorry it had to be on a day that it's raining." She paused, rubbing a hand on her forehead. "Look, we can go out shopping, or have friends over tomarrow, but we aren't calling anyone today. I really need a bit of quiet to work on this." She added, opening her eyes, and looking down at the boy. He was wearing a simply blue longsleeve shirt that day, his bangs a mess over his eyes, and the rest pulled back as usual. It was obvious his bangs could use a trim, but the boy had bitten the last barber. The woman would have to find a sollution to this problem... "Look, I know Halla was out late, so don't wake him up. But Maybe Haru is here, go talk to him, maybe he has something you can do..?" She asked, trying to be helpful.

"Right... And do what? He never seems to do anything interesting, or talk to anyone beyond what he has to. I'm sure he has something really interesting..." The boy replied, eyeing the other. She shook her head, looking like she was going to say something, before closing her eyes. "I'll go see what Haruki is doing." The boy called, turning before the woman spoke again. She smiled at his back, sighing. Parenting wasn't her greatest of abilities, but it seemed to be going well enough. He'd finally ougrown that childish babble of his, that was deffinitely a plus.

The boy folded his arms behind his head, walking down the hall. "Uhg rainy days are the worst. I don't even get to play games with Tsuya today. Why couldn't I have gone with Tai-Yun, and him? That would have been more interesting than being stuck here." The boy called, frowning. Obviously he wasn't the best at being alone. Likely one of the side effects of having a psuedo-sibling who was always home. Or almost, anyway. Still, this was a rare time, usually there where lots of people around the house. It was really quiet today. Raja was working in silence instead of her noisy self, and Haru... Well no one even knew if he was there, or not half the time he was so quiet, and solitary. The boy reached the door, before hovering his fist over it. Then knocked a few times. There was a noise something like an annoyed mutter, and then the door cracked open, revealing the red haired hermit.

"Yes? what can I do for you, Keanu?" Came the older males voice. He was dressed in his typical attire, black shirt with a style mixed of a turtleneck, and something that reminded you of the chinese. That and those plain white pants. As well the long red hair was tied back carelessly, the hairtie seeming to be about midback as usual. Haru hadn't cut his hair in a while either, it was getting rather long. But seeing as how Haruki was over eighteen, the woman never bothered him about it. Keanu was her charge, not Haru.

"Mm, Mum says I should ask you if I can do something with you, 'cause she won't let me go outside to play." He replied, leaning forward. "I dunno what it is, but just about anything would be better than wandering around the house with nothing to do." He said, trying to see past the other into the room. Truth be told, he'd never seen inside the room. Haru didn't like people bothering him, or going in there much.

"Why don't you play wi-" The other started, before pausing. "Ah that's right... They went out for today." He sighed, closing his eyes. "Fine, if you promise to behave well, and not make a mess, you can come in. You have to be quiet though, and no rough housing." He added, giving the young boy a somewhat stern look. "There isn't that much to do in here, but I can find something you might like..." He added. Upon receiving a nod from the boy, the other stepped away, letting the door open. Keanu walked in, glancing around at the room.

Bookshelves lined the walls, covered with every manner of novel, and factual book. Be it rocket design, to mythical gods. One break in the books left space for the bed against one wall, under the single visable window, and another for a desk. Upon that was a lamp, various writing utensils, and some smaller portable bookcases with books. As well there was of course a dresser, with a small, empty hamper for clothes that needed washing. Nothing lay inside of the woven wicker thing, which seemed all too fitting for the other. He did seem like a neat freak. And this proved that it was true, everything was in place, save for a small stack of books, one laying open next to the pile of others, which where on the desk, the chair pushed out from it. As for the bed, it was as neatly made as everything else. From the near perfect tucked corners, to looking as if the blankets had just been ironed after being pulled from the dryer. That was just a little creepy, but kind of what he'd imagined. Then again... He couldn't figure out why he didn't like letting people in here, there wasn't anything to hide. Aside from the fact it took cleanliness to a new level, without a single spec of dust on the floor, it seemed... Perfectly normal.

Of course, that moment of awe only last a moment, as the boy walked in, pushing the door shut behind him. Again with Raja's rule about keeping the doors shut when you weren't going in, or out. The boy wandered toward one of the bookcases, fingers running along the edges boredly. Hardback, paperback, leather, slick. All different types of backing. He paused as his eyes hit a few words in brilliant gold on a book with a rough, pale green binding. "My-Myths..." He read slowly, pausing as the other glancesd at it, not giving him a chance to finish as he interrupted.

"Myths of Old." The other replied, tapping the book with a finger. "It's mostly about dragons, pheonixes, and various creatures that may, or may not have existed. Of course, proven by that egg of yours we can assume dragons exist. Though it's debatable if all the types truly are." He stated in a flat tone. Obviously the other had read everything on this shelf, and had a photographic memory, or at least one that worked very well. "As well, it goes on about ancient religions, and gods. It's actually quite interesting." He added, still using that voice. It didn't sound like he meant that last sentence the way he was talking. Still, the boy pulled the book loose, flipping a few pages. Tiny words lined each smooth white sheet, and he was about to snap the thing shut, confused by the tiny print when he spotted a picture. It was of a pheonix, though drawn with lines. Like an emblem onemight see on a shield. There was no real detail to the thing, just the outline, in simple orange, on a background of black. The boys eyes lit up, as he continued to paw through the pages, finding a variety of similar drawings, as well as more detailed paintings.

Haruki, seeing as the boy was occupied, and not destroying anything, wanderedback to his desk, offering the other no help. He was welcome to look, but Haru had bought a new book recently, and he certainly wanted to read it. He had things to learn.

How long had passed before the noise of voices, and footsteps outside of the door sounded Keanu didn't know. He'd paged through the book entirely, before going back, and trying to read the names of all of the creatures, and gods. But as the noise outside sounded, the boys head jerked up. He recognized the two people talking. One excited, and bubbly, along with a few thumps as if the owner was bouncing about. The other droll, and bored, much more muffled. That pair had obviously gotten back. Slamming the book shut, the boy quickly hurried too the door, leaving the thing behind him on the floor, before darting out of the room. He'd thought up a new game to play with Tsuya from what he'd seen in the book. A fun new game...

The other inside let out a sigh, and shook his head, before pushing the door closed, and returning the book to where it had been on the shelf. "Children..." He mumbled, as he wandered back to his desk.

"Mum noooo~!" I cried spotting the familiar orange eared female in my room. She was turning my fort back into a bed. "I spent so long on that! Don't take it down! It was strong enough to stop the orge from getting at me!" I continued, trying to get closer to the bed. She merely stared at me quizically, likely wondering what an ogre was. Well, I'd explain it to her later, once I fixed all of the outer towers, and such she'd pulled apart.

"What?" She asked me, still holding the blanket which had been the northern parapet in her hands. Sighing, I held out a hand.

"Mum, it's my castle. All Heros need a base of some sort, and you said this was my room, so it's the best place for it." Giving up on the blanket for now, and adjusting the western wall. She managed to cause it to cage in a bit, and I couldn't leave it like that. Any attacker would see the structure was weak, like in that one story, yeah... Like that guys heel... Achilles? I wasn't going to let my base be my weakness. No, no. I was smarter than that, oh yes. "I tugged the wall tight again. "Perfect, now... Mum can I have the norther defenses back, they just don't work well if they're all bunched up in your arms." I called, tugging at the end of the blanket that was hanging. She just started down at me, looking confused. Silly mum, she needed to read more. Then she'd understand.

"Uh... Right..." She finally replied, handing me the blanket, and glancing at the tower. "So this is your castle?" She asked quizically, turning to look at it, and examining my base. Oh, she just didn't seem to see it, because she merely watched, clueless. Sighing, I began to fix up the northern side. Trying to decide where to start.

"Yes, but not a castle. My base. Where I go after I finish my adventures, and quests. Where I keep the treasures I find, and where I rest. So it needs to be very, very safe." I called, pulling the blanket tight, and nodding. "Perfect see it'll keep out the cold, and the hot, and the monster." I patted a part of the fort where the bed helped to support it, before glancing over my shoulder at my still rather baffled mum. "Don't worry, only us heros need to know about this stuff. You lady damsels just get saved." He called, pulling aside the door to creep in. I had to make sure everything was stbale inside too.

"Oh, well excellent. I'll know just the hero to call if I ever need saving." My mom said, smiling. "My little hero in shining armor!" She exclaimed, and I gave her a big grin from the door of my hindout.

"Exactly, so just call me when the big, mean, smelly goblins come, and I'll bap em really good, you'll see!" I called, dissapearing into my base. Yep... There was a bit of internal damage, but nothing I couldn't fix. Footsteps sounded as well as a closing door. Obviously my mum had gone off. Well it was getting close to meal time. Maybe mum was cooking. A hero needed to eat to be able to fight. My tummy agreed with me then. Mmm, maybe she'd make something tasty. I hoped she did... None of those vegetables... Something sweet, or... Well something good. Yea, maybe she would make my favourite. That would be great. I grinned, pulling another blanket back into place. I'd finish up repairs, and then go get mum's dinner. As a fee for the damages she'd caused. I didn't work for free. Most certainly not, how else would I get treasure, but to request small fees? I smiled. Ah yes, I'd be famous, and earn myself a title soon, not long to work at it at all. Soon they'd all know I was a grand, and brave hero, fighting the bad monsters, not like Nero. I like Nero monster, he's funny. And neat. No the big ugly mean ones. The bad ones. I'll show them. Just wait, and see.

Dear Naito,

Oh dear, well yes I did hear about you being put in charge of one of the children. It's not so odd really, I mean I'm taking care of Keanu, I just don't have multiple personality disorder like you. As for what Christopher things, do tell him he may go hide in a corner again, I really don't care. Anyhoo, I suppose you haven't gotten that dealt with by the doctor I suggested if it's still a problem? My dear I really feel I was only suggesting what was best for you, so perhaps you might still look into it? Besides we cannot have one of those personalities letting Reikuri loose again, you remember what happened last time right? Anyway, I'm glad you, and Paxton are getting along. And that you haven't let those personalities kill him yet. Try to keep them at bay around Keanu too, seeing as how you'll be moving in. Because you aren't giving me a choice. Because we'd be glad to have you. And as you said, there is plenty of room. Might I suggest one of the top floor rooms for Paxton, Keanu's room is up there. You know... because the basement is a hell hole, and if something get's loose we don't want the kids near it. The view is so nice up there.

As for me having something to do with it. Absolutely not. I'm far to busy to have slept with any of the Labtechs yet. Though I wonder, have you met 247? He's very cute, and I quite fancy him. A tad younger than myself, but ah, who cares? Anyway, I swear I had nothing to do with it. You think I'd leave a child near you? I know as well as you do that neither of us is the most... Fitting mother. Oh I love dear Keanu, but I don't have the time. And you... Well you... You... Ah I cannot find the words. You know what I'm thinking I'm sure. But I had nothing to do with it, and that is final. Because if something goes wrong I don't want to be blamed anyway.

As for Haruki... Well he said that if you come near him he'd knock you out with a book. Just a warning, he's been reading those really heavy hardbounds lately. I'd stay away. Besides, I think he's being more angsty than usual. Perhaps you're right, and Keanu is beginning to drag on his nerves. Though I thought he had the boy somewhat under control... Lately Keanu has been on better behavior around Haru than around me. I'm not sure why though. Perhaps I'll have to try, and find out the secret. As for the rest of them... Tai-Yun didn't even blink, you know how he is... Impervious to everything. I swear he wouldn't notice if someone ripped off an ear until it hurt. And he wouldn't care about the ear, it'd be that he had to clean up the blood. Truly strange, but he's good with kids! So who cares, right!? As for Issale, he's in his own world as usual. I odn't think he heard me through his headphones... I'm not going to bother trying again. And Halla simply nodded, and waved as if to dismiss me. I don't think he realizes this is my house, but as with Tai-Yun he can deal with the kids well. Kids being Tsuya, and Keanu.

Oh yes, Keanu is quite pleased. He can't wait to meet Paxton, he wants to see his wings. Seeing as how the birds won't let him near. And Tsuya looked a little worried, and asked if Paxton was as... Well he used the word 'adventurous.' But the way he said it, I think he meant insanely hyper. I told him I didn't think so, and he seemed relieved. Tsuya get's along with Keanu, but I think Keanu's activities, and games sometimes scare him. Seeing as how Keanu won't stop babbling about giants, and such things. And speaking of zombie movies... Keanu found one on TV the other day, and he seemed to be enjoying it. He said he was studying his enemies so to be able to fight them better in the future. I'm not sure how much I like that idea, but at least he wasn't just in it for the thrill, right? It's obvious he's serious about the whole saving the world thing. He joined the D.Scouts earlier this week, as well as signing up to take some martial arts lessons. I really only allowed that because I think learning some self defense will be good for him, and he can use up some of that energy of his. Besides, he's been really happy about it, and excited. I couldn't deny him that. Though Tai-Yun seemed displeased with the schedule of having to take him to all the lessons. Oh well... Hmm, perhaps Paxton can join the classes as well when he's a bit older? I don't know, it could be fun for them...

Anyway... I should stop, I need to set up those rooms, and finish my work. Besides I can smell supper cooking. I think it's something spicy, which really sounds good tonight. And I think I need to go yell again... I heard a crash in the next room... Anyway, I suppose I'll see you soon. Try to keep your sanity until you get here, and leave the house if your personalities are going to explode... Please? I don't need another game of catch the Rei...

Tata for now~

Keanu let out an annoyed grunt at the sightlight that was pouring in through the window. Morning already? Maybe sneaking downstairs to watch those movies quietly through the night wasn't such a good idea. He clamped his eyes shut again, pulling the blanket over his head, also wishing he'd bothered to shut the curtains. Oh well...

It couldn't be that late yet though, or Raja would have roused him from his bed demanding he eat something. Unless she was at work. Would the other residents have bothered to wake him up? He rolled over under the covers, contemplating this. "Mmm... Maybe..?" He mumbled, yawning, and nuzzling his head deeper into the soft white pillowcase. He had every intention of going back to bed until the noise of someone at the stairs woke him.

A low growl of annoyance escaped his throat as he turned toward the door, and pulled the blanket away just enough to peek out from under the spotted thing. Raja had felt it important that his room be a place he felt like he belonged. Not that the rest of the house was too foreign, but here he just blended. The walls where a nice white, slightly gray. Just enough that it didn't seem to stark that it hurt your eyes. The bed was wood, painted black with the white, sheets, the comforter having black spots along the main snowy hue. The lamp was black with a white shade on it, and each other item was as dark as the other furniture. The floor was one of the few items that showed a different hue, being a lovely stained wood slightly golden in color. Though it had a rug over part of it that matched his comforter. All in all the boy could hide fairly well in the room if he tried. And anyone who walked in would know it had to be his.

Fingers slipped along the sheets clutching them as he watched the door listening to the click of shoes. Heshifted as if to pounce when the door opened, but it didn't. He heard knob turn, but not his. Then footsteps, and a thud as something was set down. They where coming back again now, and the shutting of the door. Now a knock. That was unusual... It couldn't be Raja if they where knocking... His mum never bothered with that. She just opened the door already talking. Which saved time.

"Keanu, stop goofing off up there, and get some lunch! If you don't I know Raja will yell!" Called a voice too loudly, as if they couldn't tell they where talking much louder than they needed. Which made perfect sense, as the voice belonged to Issale. And heaven forbid he ever take off his headphones long enough to listen to his own volume for once. The sound of the elder walking away now. He hadn't even bothered to check if Keanu heard. Typical of the cat, he only came out when he had to. Which was why it surprised the boy that he was theone coming to tell him to get lunch. Anyone else would have been more efficient.

On another note, what had he left in the other room? The boy mused a moment, before sighing. "Well if it's that late I guess I should get up..." He mumbled to himself, sitting up, the blanket sliding off the top of his head, and falling in a pile behind him. Shaking his head slightly, and yawning once more, he pulled his way to the side of the bed, and pushed himself up onto his feet. He'd need to get dressed before he went to investigate the other room, and downstairs. Another one of those silly rules of Raja's. What was so bad about wearing his pajamas around the house? They covered everything that usually Raja pretted over. A tanktop, and loose shorts in a light blue with gray fringe. They seemed suitable. Still, rules where rules, and he tended to follow most of the house ones. He didn't need to get in too much trouble.

Pulling open a few dresser drawers he selected a particularly dark blue pair of jeans, and one of his many black shirts, this one with brilliant purple celtic markings running down the long sleeves, and changed leaving his PJ's in the close hamper.

Finally ready to set off, he opened the door to his room, and quickly started across the hall to the other side. There where four rooms on the top floor. Well sort of. The stairs was in the middle of the hall. Then two rooms on his side, one being Tsuya's, and the other his. And then on the other side was the attic, which Raja liked to keep locked. And an empty one. Since he hadn't heard a key, and he knew the sound came from too far away to be Tsuya's. It had to be in that empty room.

He hurried toward the door, and quickly opened it, glancing around the once empty room. "Oooohhh..." He mumbled, spotting a bunch of boxes, as well as a bed that where not in it. Nothing too adorned, just a few things. Since when had they been there? He flicked an ear, closing the door, and turning away. It must have something to do with the new roommate right? Raja had said something about... A kid named Paxton, and her friend Gabby moving in, right? He nodded, shuffling away, and back toward the stairs. Well, he still didn't know what Paxton was like. His mum hadn't said too much about him, nor Gabby... He hoped he was fun, what good would having another kid around be if they didn't like to play hide, and go seek. Or be in the back yard. Certainly they'd want to fight the bad creatures with him? He nodded to himself, smiling. "Of course, they'll be nice." He said reassuring himself. More, or less everyone in the house was nice. In their own way. So Raja wouldn't have let in someone bad, right?

That that small bit of confidence given to himself, he started down the stairs just as he heard his name yelled again by Issale. This time he hadn't bothered to come upstairs, and sounded like he was still in the kitchen. But seeing as how when the gray haired boy yelled, he was really loud, well... It didn't matter. You'd hear him anywhere in the house. Not that it sped up Keanu any, Issale wouldn't bother again for at least five minutes, and he'd be downstairs by then. "I wonder where everyone else is..." He mumbled, shoving some hair out of his face. He really should have had the insight to tie it back before he came down. But he'd do it later. Just so Issale didn't get anymore annoyed with him. Then again... Having his babysitter lock himself in his room would bless him with more freedom. He narrowed his eyes in thought, before shaking his head. No... Better not. He'd already broken that lamp yesterday while practicing. He needed to behave just for a day, or two.

"Coming!" He called, jumping down from the steps, and heading for the kitchen.

((Yes, the punctuation, and such is bad. What do you expect? He's only 7.))

A journal? Mum says I need a journal? I don't see why... But she says my handwriting needs work, and that it would be good for me. Something about how looking back I can see how I was, and so I can look at past mistakes I make. Stuff like that. So she said to write things down when they seem important. Which I guess is fine... But I don't know what to write... But I guess the discussion the other day might be good... So I can remember it?

Mum said Paxton was leaving very soon. Which seems true... He, and that lady... Naito was her name. They went away. Raja doesn't bring it up, or say why, but I think I know it had something to do with me. Because after that day, he wasn't happy. Or so Naito said to mum. But they never said why... I think they didn't want me to think it had to do with me, but it had to... After that day with Ichigo is when it started, and that was the day he said I was a killer. So it had to be that.

But I'm not going to worry about that. It's not my fault, I'm not bad, or a killer. Not unless I make myself one. That's what mum said. She said that Ichigo wasn't bad either, that she was just being a cat. And that I was a cat, but not really. That I was something else too, and special. So even if Ichigo hunted birds because it was how she was, that I wasn't like Ichigo, and that I didn't do such things. She said I was my own person, and I could make choices like that myself.

So I'm not a killer unless I make myself one. And I know I won't.

I'll be very good, and only help people.

But now I have to be extra good, to prove it to everyone who thinks cats are all bad. That I'm special, and not like them. Because... I don't want people to look at me like that. I didn't like how Paxton looked at me, so I have to make sure... It never happens again. I have to prove that I really am a hero, and not just a bad cat.

That's what this will be for I think. Reminding me that I can't forget how it feels to be seen as evil. So I never do something bad. Yeah... That's what this will be for.

The sound of pages flipping filled the room as theboy, rather than reading the book, zipped along through it, hoping to find brightly colored images. Which wasn't happening. This book that had been lent to him was far from being like the other which had images of the creatures in vivid color. Feathers of brilliant orange on the pheonix, pale skin, that seemed as if it had never seen the light on that vampire. And oh, the skin which seemed to hang almost rancid on the ogre. That was why the image constantly stuck in the boys head. Such a pitiful creature. But no, nothing like that seemed to exist in this book. Pages, and pages of words. Endless words.

He frowned starring at the rows of black text before him. Haruki had said this was about myths, but obviously it was more like the books the red head liked to read... Filled with enough words to make the young boy's head spin. Well he wasn't reading this one... Not yet anyway.

He slammed the thing shut, and stood up from his bed before placing it on the shelf with the other 'borrowed' books. Really it didn't seem to bother the other though, he'd never complained. Be that because he was who he was, or that he knew where to get the books if he desired them. Either way, Keanu was beginning to get a collection on that shelf. All from the others room, but still, it looked rather impressive. Each one specializing in ancient mythology on one thing, or another. Be it about the gods of old, creatures believed to exist, and some to not. But all of them full of knowledge. Good knowledge in Keanu's opinion. A smile perked on his face, and he patted the shelf lightly.

"Now all I need is more about Heros..." He mumbled. That was one thing Haruki didn't seem to read about. Heros. Then again, the others ideas of life, well... They seemed to be that you save yourself. But Keanu had plans. He wanted to save damsels, girls in other words, they just called them that for fun in stories, yes he wanted to save ladies, and fight... Well not dragons like the ones in the stories, no he was going to have a dragon. So anything else that was evil. Maybe an evil dragon? He'd see... But he was going to stop villages from being burnt down, save little children who fell down... No wait that was that movie about a dog. Raja had insisted it would be good for him to see a heartwarming film like that. It felt more like a waste of a good hours training...

Still he'd do good. That's what mattered.

The boy frowned slightly as he shoved a bit of hair out of his face. Hmm... This was beginning to be a problem. But... He flinched physically at the thought of scissors. He didn't know why, but he just didn't like them. At least not near his face. And the buzzy noise of the other thing bothered him too. That's why he'd bitten the barber... And the other one. He hadn't meant to be bad, but... He disliked it. The idea of things like that near his face just unsettled him slightly. So he'd had trouble allowing strangers near him to cut off the troublesome bangs. They where, even he could tell, starting to get out of control.

He poked the things out of his eyes, ignoring the fact his hair was also long in the back. It could be tied back, though he'd given up on wrapping it all the way as he used to. Too long. He just wrapped about an inch of it around his neck tightly, and called that good. It kept it out of his way most of the time. But he hadn't found a solution for not cutting his bangs yet. Which meant either letting Raja near him with the scissors again... He cringed. Not that his mum would have hurt him, but he just didn't like scissors. Which left him with the other thing... Dealing with this.

He mentally went through his head trying to recall any heroish things that could be worn. Maybe a bandana? He turned, digging around in his drawers, hunting for something to use as one. Eventually he found a shirt that was... Fairly shredded in some way, or another. Obviously Raja hadn't seen this one yet. Well no harm done, it was ruined anyway. Tearing off a nice lone strip form it, he quickly tied it around his head, pausing as he finished.

Well it kept the bangs up a bit, but... He spotted himself in the mirror. He hated it. Onto plan b... Whatever that was. He pulled the thing off, leaving it, and what was left of the shirt behind on his bed, the drawer still open. Moving out of the room, he paused, a smile curling along his face. Oh that was an idea... Maybe he should try Issale's room. He liked to keep accessories, and odd things. Maybe he had something more... Fitting.

Hurrying down the stairs to the main floor, he made his way along the hall until he reached the door of Issale's room. He listened a moment, waiting to see if the loud, deafening music was playing inside, which still confused Keanu, how could Issale NOT have gone deaf from that yet? Seeing as it was quiet, he could only assume that the older boy was out doing something today, and quietly opened the door. A yes, the room was empty. Walking in, he glanced around. Messy, incredibly messy. Which... Was what he'd expected... Sadly.

He carefully made his way along through the room, over strewn clothes, random cd cases, and something that looked like it was beginning to become sentient... Eww... He really needed to clean his room. Though after the trials of passing the waste that was Issale's room, he made it to a dresser of sorts. Now if Keanu had beens hy, he might have felt bad about peering in there, but frankly... He just opened it, and begam rummaging.

Top drawer... Shirts. No good. Next... Pants... Useless... Next... Undergarments... Wait what kind of undergarment was that? He quickly shut the drawer, banishing the image from his mind. Next... Legging things. Weren't pants enough? He frowned, shutting it. That was the last drawer. Which meant there had to be another place... He eyed the room, avoiding what had once been some sort of food, and spotting a box, or was it a trunk. It didn't matter. He hurried over, skirting around the objects on the floor, and throwing the thing open.

Bingo~! An assortment of wonderous items. Things for his arms, gloves... Collars... The boy dug around through it all, looking for something suitable. Eventually he came up with a set of goggles. Now not the kind you wear when swimming. More like for... Well he wasn't sure. He eyed the dark rims, then checked the glasses. Might work. They had an adjustable strap, so he could wear them on his forehead. They'd hold back his bangs more than the cloth. He shrugged, eyeing the band. Seemed to be made of leather, which wouldn't drive him too insane if it rubbed a bit. It worked. And if he was in the bushed he could pull them down to cover his eyes? Then he wouldn't have to worry about sheilding them. Useful... Kind of.

He tugged the things around his neck, before backtracking, and pushing them up to his forehead. Which did wonders, it shoed the troublesome multi-colored locks up over the two eyepieces, and the band. Hmm... Yep that worked. He wandered over to the mirror Issale kept in him room. Issale... Was very vain.

Glancing into the glass, the boy grinned, laughing lightly, and adjusting the things to be more centered. It wasn't too bad. Better than the ripped up bandana. And besides... Hadn't the main character in that one cartoon had goggles a bit like this? So it worked well. Now he just needed to go tie the rest of his hair back, and he could go outside. Assuming Raja didn't tell him it was too cold, or rainy, or something...

He quickly let himself out of the room, and closed the door behind him. Issale had enough junk, he likely wouldn't miss them, right? The truth was Issale wouldn't even notice. The boy quickly hurried back upstairs to finish getting dressed for the day, finally not needing to shove his bangs out of the way ever few minutes. Much, better. Much much better.

"Mum..?" Came the boy's voice as he glanced up from his book.

"Mm hmm?" Came the usual reply, as the woman flicked an ear, and looking up to see what the boy wanted.

"Can I have a sword like a real knight?" He called inquisitively, looking at her bright eyed; his manner attempting to gain favor.

"No." Came an instant reply, and the eyes returned to the book she was reading.

"Can... I save up, and buy one?"

"Absolutely not."

"Why not?"

"..." She glanced up again, frowning, and rubbing her head slightly. Frankly, the thought of her son with a sword frightened her in many, many ways... "Because you might hurt yourself." She finally replied, looking down again.

"No I won't..."

"I said no, and that is final."

"But that's not fair..." Came the boy's plea, and he turned back to his book, frowning, and flipping a few pages. This particular one happened to have a lot about different sword types. It was based on blade, and the size of the weapon mainly. Though there where other things, he'd been thinking about trying to get one of them based on what the book said. He glared up at his mother, flicking an ear slightly. Bah... He'd eventually get one...

"... I know what you're thinking, and I said no, that means no." She woman suddenly said, having caught the boy's look, and then returning to reading once more.

Having jumped slightly when the other suddenly spoke, not having noticed her looking, he turned back sheepishly to his own book. Bah, he'd find a way. Maybe one day when she was at work...

"Hmm?" The woman murmured to herself; as she shifted through the mail, "And what is this?" she said quietly, spotting the familiar insignia on the letter. D.Corp. This would either be good news, or bad news... She flipped open the envelope, lips parting slightly as she pulled out a small note, along with a form. "Bad news..." She quietly mumured, reading the few lines. A dragon in the house, certainly Keanu would be happy. Though she had to think, it couldn't be good for the health of her house. And the dragon, if she recalled, liked the cold. She had enough trouble getting Keanu to let her keep the heat at a decent level, but now the dragon. She shivered slightly, realizing what that meant. "I better buy some new blankets..."

Turning around, she shoved her bangs back, out of her face, tossing her ponytail back over her shoulder in the same action. Better let him know though... He'd be unbearable if she didn't give this time him.

"KEANU! You have mail!" She called, setting the sheet on the table with a pencil for the boy. "It's about your dragon!" And the moment the word dragon escaped her mouth, as if by magic the boy was there. Of course, there where a few crashes as he came, likely he'd knocked over something in his haste.

"REALLY WHERE!?" Came the excited voice, blue eyes bright as he looked up attentively.

"On the table." She called, shaking her head slightly, and walking out to find out what he'd broken. "I'll write the note they asked me to write out to go with it. Just fill out the sheet, it said you need to do it. If you need help spelling something call me." She added, opening the door to the kitchen, and stepping out, heading in the direction she'd heard the crash from.

"K!" He cried, spotting the form, and the pencil, and taking a seat before it. His name? That was easy. K-E-A-N-U. Thankfully his mother had chosen something relatively simple. He looked down. What was he? Another easy one. He filled in the word, pausing after snow. Leopard... How did you spell that... He wrote an L, then spoke the word a few times. "Leh... Ok E... Leo...pah... E... P... A... pard... Pard. R-D." He wrote down the word, looking to the next question.

What could he do. Well... He could climb in thorny places, and be fine. He'd found that out quickly. Once he put together that torn clothes, and no scratches meant his coat was good protection. And he could smell pretty well, and hear, and see. He started to write that all, but ran out of space after writing about his sight. Well... Close enough.

Next was... His egg. Well certainly he recalled that. Snowy white, with blue markings that she shiny. He wrote that down, before looking up at the white egg. He'd need his crayons for that. He got up, darting out of the kitchen, and soon returned with the box, before coloring in some of the markings with the various blues he had.

Ah the next questions... He had to think a moment, before recalling all of that. And wrote it down. Would his dragon melt, or boil if it got too warm like the egg? If so he'd need to get Raja to make the house colder. As for the dragon type. A frost one. Like the ice, and snow. It was supposed to look like ice, the man had said that too. The boy grinned, writing that in. Done? Seemed like it. He glanced up as his mother walked in, obviously having set the room back into place.

"I'm done can we send it back now?"

"Just let me finish writing the note..." She replied, looking down at the form. It seemed filled in enough.

User Image

Taking it, she folded it up, and placed it into an envelope she'd gotten, and already prepared to send, before sitting down with her own piece of paper to write. "Now go upstairs, and wait quietly, or this will take longer."

The boy fidgeted, obviously not wanting to go, but remained silent as she started to write. He didn't plan to leave until it was sent, just to make sure. But he'd wait until then.

Quote:
Enclosed is the form Keanu filled out. He took it rather excitedly when I toldhim about it. He's gotten a lot bigger hasn't he? And less destructive with his martial arts(possibly because he's learning more, and can has more control his how he moves.) Anyway, he's still fairly energetic, but he has calmed down a bit, and I think he will be getting even better about not running around as much as he ages.(AKA - He'll be getting more serious throughout this stage.) Keanu continues to show a great fondness for all things that aren't as explainable, but he's far more calm about it. Unless it's the dragon, he bugged me until I showed him I was putting this in the mail right away.

As for his appearance.. Well Keanu's wearing more clothes, thankfully. Now I don't need to worry about him freezing. But he still won't let me near him with scissors. I'm going to keep working on that, but his hair hasn't been trimmed at all. It's getting very long... So he wears goggles on his forehead to keep the hair out of his eyes. So I suppose it's ok. Anyway, it's time to take Keanu to his Aikido class, so I'll be sending this as we leave. Thank you for the update, and I hope all goes well with the dragon... Oh my poor house...
