He nodded. "I guess she won. I don't know how she came to be in charge, actually." He had never thought to ask. "But she came searching, looking for all the lost members, and she found many of us." Darkness crept across his features. "Mother and my mistress both perished, attacked in the night by....beasts, monstrous unruly vagabonds...." he shuddered. "...but my sisters....one was found to still be alive, living with the YMCA, and the other....she may still be alive, and Penthesilea has promised to help me find her."
He paused in snapping up his meal, the size of the prey he was dealing with keeping the smear of blood on his pale face from growing too ghastly. "And you were close with your family," he said, somewhat hollowly, watching Iosef shudder under the weight of his memory. So he had been lost, too. And found again, that must be wonderful.

He nodded, smiling perhaps a bit sheepishly. "Yes. Well...with Terreis, especially," he admitted, thinking of his other sister who had never been quite so kind to him. He smiled. "She's had pups recently, though I have not yet had the chance to meet them. She was a bit...ah...irritated...at the outcome of her litter."
Tui barked a soft, short, unhappy laugh, and embarrassed of himself, crunched some bones intently, and let himself be silent for a while. Once he recovered, he looked up again, treading carefully into his own territory. "I was close to my sister, too...we were twins."

"Oh?" He tilted his head in polite curiosity, and asked -- though he feared it may not be prudent -- "...what happened?"
Discomfort vibrated off the gangly wolf, as he watched his hare with consternation. "She had other things to do, I guess," he managed, regretting his choice to show a c***k in his armor. Looking up from the hare, which he had tucked away rather admirably, he imagined this foray into his sore spots hadn't happened. "I'm not going to get you into trouble, am I?"

That was unfortunate, he thought, but he could see how it happened; that was, after all, how he had lost his sisters to begin with -- they had better things to do than wander with their weak brother. "I...don't think so," Iosef said, honestly not knowing. "I do my work well, and am favored by many....they would be forgiving of a transgression." he smiled. "Besides. We'll need new blood in the pack, if they plan to swell our ranks."
He pressed his lips together in a nervous smile. "I'll try." Although, he failed to grasp what that last line was specifically referring to. He glanced around, then back to Iosef - god, he kept forgetting how small and mild he looked - waiting for the next step to begin.
