True enough she had lost her element of surprise, the fact that the other wolf managed to catch her brought a smile to her mouth even as the rip of pain caught her in it's hold for a moment. Her ear burned and then her shoulder blossomed with a sharp, keen pain. "Push the pain away." Darryn's voice reminded her, somewhere in her mind. She hit the ground and for a moment she stayed there to catch her breath. She was getting tired, she had a few injuries that bled freely and they were beginning to slow her down. She exhaled heavily and rose again, slowly.
She was vulnerable and the other wolf was close. She took a swipe at her, a growl ripping from her throat. She just needed her to back off. She jumped away from the female and spun around again. She took inventory of her trembling body. The tear in her ear didn't bleed too badly, but every flick of her ear stung, her shoulder ached and throbbed and each step she took the muscles in her flank hurt. She sighed. She could probably only take one or two more hits before she was done. These last few moves would decide who would be going on and who would be left behind.
She watched her oponentr and saw the pain in her eyes... she felt the haunting ache of a hard past, but she only knew this because the pain she saw was mirrorred in her own eyes. She knew the other must have been wearing down too. She had done enough damage that she too was effected.
She bared her teeth and started to creep forth, stepping lightly and slowly gaining speed. She ran at her and for a moment she became dizzy and she veered off course. She stumbled but managed to keep her feet. She had missed the attack... she shook her head, trying to clear her vision and stared hard at her opponent as she waited for her next move, hoping it wouldn't be her finish... She again saw Kora's little face, and then her image now as the beautiful adolescent she had grown to be and she smiled gently.
She knew, no matter what happened, Kora would still love her... but she didn't want to fail, she didn't want Kora to see her lose. "Come on Lithium..." she murmured, "Lets bring this fight to a close, hm?" she lifted her head and stood proudly, the trembling left her form and she stood tall, ears forward, tail raised and fur and hackles standing. She was going to either go down hard or win... either way, she didn't want to make it easy.

Lithium stumbled a little as she started to wander back slightly. She paused as she looked at the other female and then something made her pause, she didn't realize how tired she was that is until she saw her blood on the ground. She let out a pant and she could feel the dizziness that rushed into her head. She would really need to rest after this and of course clean her coat a lot to get the blood out. She lifted her head and looked at the other wolf she was also obviously starting to get to the tired part of the fight.
She needed to get the adrenaline back, she knew she did it was the only thing that was going to take her mind off of it. She paused as the wolf started to head her way again. She held her breath for a moment that is until the other wolf went off course. She felt a little relieved she knew that she couldn't take much more. She started to make her way back toward her. She was going to win. She was going to make sure of it. She needed to do this for herself. She needed her sanity she needed to know she could really ddo this.
She was determined her mind was into this. She needed to move on past her mother she needed to move on past... well she needed to get past her past. She grunted as she picked up speed sending her mind back into the fight mode. She moved close to the other wolf and went to bite on to her flank but she over estimated herself and she missed only snapping her jaws to find nothing inbetween them afterward. She growled before panting slightly moving a good foot away from the other wolf and nodding in agreement. "Lets end it."

This was it... they had both missed, she had the chance to make this fight or lose it. An image came to mind unbidden and she growled. Once upon a time she'd been weak. She'd lost a fight that had been a question of life or death... and she had lost her best friend... had lost the wolf she'd loved... she would not be weak again, she would not lose this battle. She knew, if she was the victor this day she would have many more to face, many more she may lose. She couldn't think about those fights though... not right now. She had to focus on this one.
The past was holding her back and she knew she had to break free, so she did what she had never been able to do in the past. "Good bye..." she whispered, and those words rocked her to her core and they hurt like nothing else, like no injury could have hurt her. In her mind she watched the image of Darryn lying on the ground beside her, slowly dying.
She'd told him she would never forgive him if he left her, but now, as she whispered those words, the small male smiled and his figure was gone in a small breeze of wind. He was gone... the last part of her past, the last thing anchoring her to the pain faded away and she was left gasping for breath. She surfaced througfh the ocean of emotions as they tossed around violently and then she pulled herself out unscathed and for a moment, she stod at her strongest.
She didn't waste any time as the female aimed for her flank she spun on her and snarled, raming into her, her chest to Lithium's side and she bowled her over, probably hard enough to wind her, trying to gain purchase so she could take a dominant place over the female she dug her claws into the earth and pushed.
She stopped rolling and pinned the female. With a dominant growl she placed her jaws over her throat, but did not bite down. She stood, her body shaking again, this time with the fresh flood of adrenaline. She looked down at the female she'd pinned, cobalt blue eyes watching her carefully. She lifted her head, letting her up and she stepped off of the female.
"This fight is over... and you fought well... I am tired as are you..." she mumured, stepping up to the female, she lowered her head and gave her a gentle nudge. She watched her out of the corner of her eye as she moved a little close and began to lick her wounds.
'It's over...' she realized as she groomed the other female and tried to soothe the wounds she'd dealt her. 'I have claimed a victory.' The urge to howl was strong within her but she did not. She laid silently beside the other forgot, for a time, the world around them.

It was the last moments, she could feel it coming to a end, she knew it was coming to an end but she wasn't that sure how it was going to end. She was still young and this female seemed to have lived a life beyond what she had lived. But she was still confident, she was still Compeltly ready for what was coming her way. She looked at the wolf but then it caught her off guard as she could feel teeth clamp back down on her. She went to fight back but she couldn't pull herself around fast enough instead she found herself on the ground trying to ignore the rush of pain as the air was knocked out of her. She tried to talk sharp inhales in but she didn't get anything out of it she tried to inhale a few more times but it wasn't working.
She wasn't paying attention to the female's display of dominance she couldn't bring herself to at all. That is until the wind came rushing back and she panted loudly. She closed her eyes for a moment. "You too." She said simply she wouldn't growled back and try to fight back or keep fighting back as she would a lot of the time but she couldn't do it she wasn't going to make herself look bad in front of all of these wolves. She grunted slightly as the other female started to clean her wounds. She stiffened at the feeling she wasn't used to some one else cleaning her. Her parents never did things like that.
That was when it hit her.
She lost... She felt an overwhelming feeling of sadness and disappointment. She didn't win, she was excited on winning but it wasn't how it happened. She lifted herself up and nudged the other wolf before nodding. "Thank you for the fight." She said her gruff voice coming back her serious expression returned she puffed herself to her feet as she nodded toward the wolf and turned in the other direction. "Congrats." She said simply as she started to slowly trot away.
She had ideas in front of her she was going to have to clean her wounds and then she was going to go back to training. She needed to become better then that. She needed to prove them all wrong.
Was she really worthless?

Before she got too far, Faiyrn caught up with her. "You gave me a real run, you know... it was just luck that ended it the way it did... you're a damn good fighter. Keep your head up, who knows? You're still young, you could still get where you want to be with a little time and patience... I'd like to train with you sometime, if you don't mind. You keep me on my toes and you challenge me to do and be more than I'm used to." she paused and then smiled, licking the other's shoulder.
"If you want, I can help you get cleaned up a bit and we could find something to eat. I don't know about you, but that fight made me really hungry... and maybe I could introduce you to my little one Kora. I bet she'd be impressed with your strength and fighting abilities." she offered, a kind expression on her face. "I know the look you carry, you're being haunted... spend some time here in the present before you go back to your world of pain. What do you say?" She tipped her head in the direction of Lake Lux, her bright eyes calm and at ease as she made the offer.

Lithi tensed as the wolf got closer to her. She wasn't expecting the other wolf to want to talk to her. She was used to being in a pack where no one wanted her. And the ones that did weren't allowed to spend time with her. She shook her coat out some and looked at the blood that was on her body before sighing it was going to br fun to take that off. She then looked at the other wolf and nodded slightly. "I-If you really want to join me." She grunted at the idea. On the outside she wanted nothign to do with this female because to her she was going ot hurt her.
On the other hand on the inside of her mind she wanted company. She craved company, she craved some one to spend time with and she wanted some one that she could hang out with, that was always really nice. She licked her lips then nodded. She then thought about the wolves first question. "I do need a sparing partner." Many would continue to look at her waiting for an answer but she really hoped that the other wolf would take that for an answer she wasn't much of a talkitive wolf around those she knew.
"I'd like to meet your little one." She said a little more brightly. She still had a soft spot for cubs, major soft spot, the idea of being able to play with the pup and be able to see it soudned like a bunch of fun to her. She flicked her ear before nodding. "Lead the way." She was going to leave the last comment untouched. She didn't know how to leave her past behind. It was still fresh. She didn't know what to think about it it wasstill so new.
