in greek and norse mythology the golden apples were eaten by the gods often. in norse mythology when the golden apple caretaker Idunn was stolen away, the gods and goddess got older and sicker without the apples to eat. in greek mythology the Trojan war was caused by a golden apple inscribed "to the fairest" where 3 goddesses fought over it. also in greek mythology the garden that grew the apples was in the north, it could be the same area as idunn's garden. maybe they weren't just apples, but a special alien fruit? lol

Kings and rulers would hold an apple along with their sceptre. -In the Christian Era, the Cross took the role of the Apple to signify the Earth. -In Celtic Mythology, Avalon literally means Land of Apples, and brings great joy.
