Suijin watched Aysu's face fall and he barely held back a sigh. While he was expecting it he didn't actually want to see it. It actually angered him, ever so slightly, that he felt bad about rejecting her offering to him even if it was only for the time being. He hadn't felt that way in some time, not since he realized that he cared for the purple lioness he now hated.
The crueler male had a soft spot for his look-a-like daughter, one that he wished wasn't there. She was...special to him and while he would never admit it, he feared he actually cared for her as he once did for Kagami.
He couldn't risk that.
He wouldn't risk that, even if it meant pushing her away. The only problem was: she kept coming back.
His gaze lingered on Aysu as she picked her way through the vegetation and stayed with her until she was out of sight. When he could no longer see her he let out the sigh he had been holding. Slowly he turned away and made his way towards the center of the pride in order to see his other children. He had much to explain to them.
