Zakai's interest piqued, it took nearly all the self-control he could muster not to burst out of the den yelling 'I want to join!' -- but he had to be good, and follow his parent's lead. And keep an eye on his sisters. He crowded in closer to Astar, then, biting his lower lip, glanced back at Talia. He smiled at her, and crouched. "Here," he whispered. "You can climb onto my shoulders, if you like. Maybe you can see better that way?"

Talia's eyes widened at the creature that came forward. He was big. Bigger than any lion she had seen, though it is a well known fact she hadn't seen any other than her small family. His thick mane and strong posture were enough to win respect in the youngster's mind and, though she would not admit it, his sheer bulk frightened her. The fact that he and her father both seemed to relax brought her some comfort.
As Zakai lowered himself and offered her a better look, she was quick to take him up on it and scrambled onto his shoulders, mindful to keep her sharp claws away from his pelt. "Thanks~" She whispered quietly as she rested her chin on top of his head, eager eyes roving over her father and the stranger.
"He sure is biiiig. Strong looking, even." She could hardly force herself to keep from commenting and there was awe in her voice.
She settled and listened to talk about a pride. Pride? She'd never seen one of those, before. She wanted to know more, and this was the only reason she kept quiet. She didn't want to miss a word.

Still tense, Astar purred softly when her brother moved closer, taking his gesture as an offer of physical contact and gladly accepting it. She leaned against him once again, narrowing her eyes contently as she examined the massive stranger in front of them, carefully evaluating the adults’ words and expressions without visible concern. They seemed to be getting along after all. But she did find her mother’s reaction rather interesting so her eyes followed Chana’s gaze to the big lion, curiously waiting for his answer.
“Shhh…” she whispered, pawing at Talia’s tail and hoping the stranger wasn’t paying attention to the cubs. “Don’t say that!”

He paid little heed to the children just giving them small glances as they got in better angles. So young. He wondered how the entire family was supported with so few able to hunt. The older lion listened with patience as the two of them spoke. Chana's words sparked his interest and the large male nodded his head.
He squared his shoulders. "Yes, yes our pride does follow the God of Peace. He protects us and keeps us from harm." He responded in a proud tone. "We do not war with anyone and work together to maintain a happy and healthy pride. Our King is Rotem and while he is..." He paused searching for the right words, "a bit strange for a King there is no one else I would rather serve."
He glanced over his shoulder for a moment. "My pride is open to everyone and all species if you would like you may come and visit it. I assure you our King will welcome you and your family with open arms. I, personally, will make sure you have access to our kills if you wish. You do not have to join and we will not make you. It is merely an offer."
His eyes landed on Chana, studying her with his gaze. "How is it you know of our pride? We have traveled far when humans appeared with their thundersticks at our last home. We too just arrived.

Yehudah looked from his mate to the male, in slow and easy glances, briefly diverting his attention at the jostling of their youngsters. He offered them a little reassuring grin before looking back to Eyal as he spoke.
Hm. A pride following under the God of Peace certainly couldn't be bad. The fact that they supported each other, working in tandem to keep everyone healthy and happy sounded absolutely marvelous. His focus drew inward as he thought of how he and Chana struggled to keep their growing children fed, how often they went to sleep hungry. He shook himself, blinking a bit as he drew himself back into the conversation.
It would be nice for Zakai, Talia, and Astar to have friends and playmates their own ages. The male made a deep, thoughtful sound. "I would very much like to see your pride. It sounds like an ideal place to have a family. I think I would like for us to get a feel of your pride before deciding anything." He looked to his mate. "We can let the children come and we can decide as a family. Yes?"

Chana nodded quietly, deferring to her husband's wishes before answering Eyal's question. Yehudah was her mate and he did come first, particularly when there were family decisions to be had. "Letting the little ones participate would be wise." she agreed softly.
Turning back to the warrior, the lioness smiled sadly, "My mother often told me stories of your pride. Before her death, we were seeking your lands. She had hoped to introduce me to my grandparents, and mend the rift between them and herself, whether or not she'd be allowed to return home."

Zakai was pleased that his sister -- who was often so distant and troublesome -- appreciated his offer to be used as a perch. She wasn't exactly the lightest thing, even though she was quite small, and it took a fair amount of his concentration and strength to keep her steady.
His ears perked, though, at his parent's words. They were going to consider joining a pride? Really? He wriggled with excitement, nearly unseating his sister in the process.

Talia whispered her reply in a typical, childish manner at her sister's scolding. It was the plain truth, though she didn't doubt for a moment that if there was to be a fight, her father would win. He was her father, after all, and thus could not possibly lose in her mind. Ah, the naivety of youngsters, if only every thought like that were to be true.
But it seemed there would be no fight, to which she was both relieved and slightly disappointed. What was proposed was far better than any sort of rough action. A pride? There might be a pride involved? That would mean more food to fill their little bellies, and the bellies of their parents, too! Possible playmates! Protection! She could hardly control the excitement welling up within her bosom.
"Did you hear that!?" She whispered loudly in her brother's ear, her tail flicking in excitement.
OOC: I apologize for the lateness of this post. I broke the tip of my finger on my right hand and then fell down the stairs and messed up my back within a relatively short amount of time of each other. lD;;

Astar had to laugh at her sister’s tone though she tried to be as discreet as possible.
Her eyes widened at the invitation. A pride? For them? For all of them? A place where they could be together and leave all their worries behind? Yes, please!
Her sibling’s excitement was contagious and the small lioness was quickly embracing the notion of pride life. Would there be other cubs? Would they make friends? Would their parents finally have time to make friends? The young patched cub followed the adults’ faces with eager anticipation and almost purred when her father said they’d make the decision as a family.
