Adira paused, as if trying to remember what the other girl looked like. "She had dark hair, a bit like mine I guess. With bronze jewelry, white gloves and a cape. Oh, she had a big green bow on the back of her skirt too." She hoped it was vague, yet descriptive enough to make him realize that Perseus had helped him. That she was still helping him. Well, maybe not the last part, but some kind've credit would be nice.

"As far as reckless goes... maybe if you were uninjured I would have been more cautious. As it stands, I do believe I can take care of myself. I've been doing so for a long time." She stayed seated on the couch, looking out through the windows. It was a beautiful morning, for the most part. "Are you hungry at all?"

He had half a mind to protest that he could in fact be VERY dangerous thank you very much but fell silent realizing that he owed the senshi a very real thank you as well as this strange young woman.

"Thank you then for...risking it, and...risking the ire of...well." He stopped not really wanting to get into the politics of who beat him up, why they had and the fact he'd been 'pathetic' enough to have to run.

"...a little... I think." He said cautiously. "Mostly sore... but If I'd been more cautious myself, then I wouldn't have cause everyone such trouble."
He glanced out the window as well trying to find a given point where her eyes might be resting and then looked back again curious. It was after all, people like this that Beryl had them fighting for...wasn't it?

"I'm a business mans daughter, I know more about risk and repercussions than most." It was a business tone as well, as she stood up from the couch and moved away from it. Had she been able to read the lieutenants mind, she would've had a few choice things to say about the cause of the negaverse.

But in the mean time, she moved into the kitchen with silent ease, bare feet padding against the tiles. They paused though, and she turned back to the boy on her couch. "Though, I must admit, I don't think I ever caught your name. The only words you mentioned last night was 'tape' and 'locker'." She continued on into the kitchen, and opened up her refrigerator in search of food. "Do you like caramel or cinnamon rolls? If not, I have eggs and bacon as well. If none of those sound good, I'm sure I'll have something that will tickle your fancy."

His eyes widened at what he had apparently said, and he felt, at that moment that the carpet was AMAZINGLY fascinating, and prayed he hadn't elaborated on either topic.

Oh HELL... what to tell her for a name? Zinkenite sounded, ridiculous when next to a relatively normal name like Adira, but he couldn't exactly give her his REAL name, even his nickname would be dangerous despite the shared first letter.

"Ah..." he hesitated. "Cinnamon.. is fine, or...whatever you prefer really, I um... yes." he hesitated watching her though darting glances between her face and the floor.

Why was talking to a civilian harder than talking to a senshi anyhow? "Zinkenite... or...Zink if you prefer." He said praying he could think of some kind of short explanation for why he was called that.

Adira took the arm band off of her wrist and threw her hair up into a messy loop at the nape of her neck. Long hair tended to get in the way of cooking, despite how well maintained it was. She popped a little blue canister out of the fridge (Adira was not a fancy cook), and tore the package, producing a pleasing pop of air pressure being released.

A few seconds of banging around cupboards produced a round cooking pan, and the oven was set to preheat. "Zinkenite is an odd name. Its a mineral, isn't it?" So she was using a bit of Perseus's knowledge here, but who was to say that she couldn't know that as well? She set the buns into the pan one at a time, leaving them on the counter while the oven preheated. She was trying desperately to keep busy, and not say anything stupid. She was walking a fine line, and Adira was trying very hard not stray from it. "Would you like something to drink?"

"it is..." He nodded impressed that she knew. There were so many odd mineral names that he'd not even paid attention to, a few he hadn't even known before he joined the Negaverse.
"Let me help..." He said clutching the icepack in one hand and tried again to stand, not having learned his lesson the first time.
He cursed again if less muffled than he had last time, though not all of it was strictly curse words, some of it seemed to be from the 'Shakespeare's book of Insults' or at least one of his unabridged plays, but he used the arm of the couch to stay up with a determined face. He didn't handle 'down time' well...

"Sorry..." he added in regards to his cursing.

"What are you doing?" Adira rushed from the kitchen over to were the boy was standing. "Didn't you hear me when I told you to not get up yet?" she looped her arm under his other arm without asking, giving him another side to support on. Adira swore as well, though probably not in a language that he understood. She had a bad habit of picking and choosing swears from different cultures.

"It would help me if you sat down." She turned to look him in the eye. "Please." The girl stood next to him, attempting to get him to move somewhere. She didn't particularly care if it was the same couch or the kitchen stools, he just need to be sitting as soon as possible. Her shirt smelled of cedar, considering she'd taken it from one of her dresser drawers, which was built of cedar. Only the best, as was apparent from her loft apartment.

Frustration flickered across his face before he forced it behind a neutral and patient mask, however its stony expression was fractured by just how much everything ached when he moved. He felt like he'd fallen down a flight of stairs on top of having his tail kicked by that Senshi... ridiculous honestly but it was never the less how he felt.

He exhaled in frustration and finally nodded with a small hisss of air though his teeth.
"Alright... alright, I just...hmm." He shook his head. He let her lead him where she pleased, even if it was just to sit back down.

"I dislike... being rude. I feel rude not to assist you." It was ironic that he disliked not being well mannered in such situations given how far he would go to gloat when the opportunity arose for him to rub the noses of those who vexed him in his victories... but it was true.

Adira might've blushed if she knew that he felt like he fell down some stairs. But seeing as she didn't, the girl focused on leading the boy back around to the couch. "Its really alright. It's not too hard to pop premade rolls into a pan, after all." She placed a knee on the couch to help guide him back down onto the comfy cushions.

"There." Adira smiled and tweaked his nose lightly before standing. "Besides, you should be happy. Its not often that you get a random pretty stranger offering to make you breakfast. Take advantage of it while it lasts." She let out a small laugh and a wink. Truly, she seemed to be at her finest when entertaining, no matter how small the 'party' was, so to speak. It was what she had been raised to do, after all. "Now, you never answered my question. Do you want something to drink?"
PostPosted: Wed Jun 16, 2010 10:30 pm

"So long as it is not coffee... unless that is all there is, I would not mind." He conceded unsure if it would be rude to ask what the 'options' were, but he was tired enough that he thought he could even drink one of those sugary concoctions that Demy enjoyed so much, though he did blink in surprise and blushed just a little at her wink. Was she flirting?! He had the same hard time reading women when he went on that one date with Kirin, whom had unfortunately fallen off the face of the planet it seemed. He assumed she was busy but there was a very real chance the way the 'date' had gone she was upset with him...lord only knew.
Sometimes he wished the rest of the world were as understandable in their intents and motivations as Demy... other times he enjoyed the complexity like a puzzle that he could work at for as long as he had the inclination. Today was one of the later, though he had to admit he had no idea where to begin.

"Well, as much as I enjoy coffee, I do suppose I have other things." Her tone was incredibly joking. Now that she knew she could get a response by her joking, she would probably continue to tease the lieutenant. After all, she didn't get the chance much as Perseus. "Water, tea, and orange juice I think are the main ones." Regardless of what he enjoyed, Adira popped the tea kettle onto a flame anyways, considering tea sounded good.

She rustled around a few more drawers in the kitchen before settling on an old school looking container, inlaid with mother of pearl. It looked like a relic, all things considered. "I...would recommend the tea. Its the best in the world, straight from the private stores of the Queen of England. Lovely woman. Earl Grey tea, of course." She said it nonchalantly, since these things were not new to Adira.

After all her musing, she looked at him seriously. "You don't need to walk on eggshells around me. Clearly, I've invited you in my home and dressed your wounds. I'm not going to harm you here. Try and loosen up a little." And with that, her head popped out of sight, putting the rolls in the oven and setting the timer, head bobbing back into view.

"Tea..." he said the word like it was its own form of worship. "I was beginning to think drinking it was the equivalent of sipping on a leper." He said with a small laugh of his own that was still edged with nerves though he was trying.

He carefully pressed the icepack against his head and winced slightly at how cold it was, but combined with the aspirin it made him feel better.

"I very much appreciate the assistance..." he added "I fear I have little idea of how to thank you properly..." he admitted, though he did have some. He would 'flag' this apartment as a non viable target in his notes and try and ensure that those who he worked with stayed away as well... It was just that he could never -admit- that to her.

"Then you really should visit England sometime, where not drinking tea is about the same equivalent. And...there's no need for thanks. Its been rather boring, since the city was put under patrol. At least this is interesting." And informative. She could gather more information about Zink this way then she ever could as Perseus. It was practical and a bit fun all at the same time.

It was a good way to get her mind off of everything. Things that she desperately wanted to forget, but it was always there, always nagging. She zoned out for a second, staring at the tea canister in front of her. She was popped out of her unwanted revelries by the sound of the whistle behind her. Adira turned and popped it off, quickly fishing out two large teacups and saucers, as well as all the fixings for home brewing tea.

It wasn't very long before a cup of fresh brewing Earl Grey was sat on a little nesting table in front of Zink. "I hope you enjoy it." She sat down with her own saucer in hand on the other side of the couch, far enough away to be comfortable. She really did hope that the blood hadn't stained through the blanket, considering this was her favorite couch and resurfacing it would be a hassle with the current situation. Adira fidgeted with her tea bag, an uncharacteristic motion for her. Things had been difficult lately for the girl, and it was beginning to wear on her.
PostPosted: Thu Jun 17, 2010 11:00 am

He reached carefully for the cup, in part because he wasn't sure if he could pick it up without spilling it. He lifted the saucer too for safety and ended up with a rapid fire clatter against it that made him put them both back down and recollect himself.
"Sorry..." He said and glanced at her. He was at least somewhat reassured by her drinking the tea as well, but there was still that 'what if this is like one of those crazy horror films where someone is incapacitated and kidnapped by crazy stalkers' was still a nagging suspicion even for him.
He managed to pick them up on the second try and gave a cautious sip trying to see if he tasted anything odd in the heavenly brew.
Nothing alarming it seemed... still there could be something without a distinct taste but... it was really excellent tea and he hummed in appreciation in spite of himself and his confusion and worries.

And there were her own little reactions, fidgeting with her tea bag, the occasional glance at the blanket covering the couch, which he realized he had left stains on and worried that he was leaving DNA traces and stains on her furniture.

"Are... you alright?" He asked cautiously

She smiled at his teacup rattling antics. It was pretty cute, even if they were nice teacups. Ah well, nothing was permanent after all, and its not like he broke them. "Its alright."

Her eyes went a bit wide with shock when he asked her if she was alright. Was she really that transparent as of late? Adira was clearly losing her grip on things and she would fight to retain it. "Yes, of course. I'm fine." She nodded, but was saved mostly from further inquiries by the sound of the oven timer going off. "Ah, the cinnamon rolls are done!" She set down her teacup and walked out of the room, taking the pan out fairly quickly. It filled the room with the smell of baked bread and cinnamon. In a matter of minutes the buns had been frosted, and moved onto plates. Two for each of them, and forks and napkins were brought as well.

She set them down on the coffee table, which she dragged a bit closer to the pair until it was a comfortable distance. The smell of cinnamon bun was making her stomach growl- it had been a long night.
