Robert Haschen Narnith Castle
Robert arrived on his horse outside the gates of the castle. Tying the horse to wooden pole, the young prince entered through the open gate and began to make his way to the castle itself.
It was strange that he had not encountered any hostilities along the way, no assassins or anything. He couldn't tell what his brother was up to. He wasn't sure if perhaps his brother contacted the king ahead of time to spread lies about Robert, or if he was planning something else. Still, he had to warn the king of his brother's evil so they wouldn't be caught unprepared.
At the doorsteps of the castle, two guards crossed their spears, forbidding entry. "Halt. Only those who live in the castle may enter unless they have an appointment with the king, and there have been no appointments scheduled today." One of the guards spoke.
Robert took the bandage from around his shoulder and unraveled it, showing the purple tattoo of his kingdom's insignia. "I am Prince Robert of Pualb, and it is a very urgent matter that I see the king!" Robert spoke defiantly.
The guards looked at each other before then looking at the young prince. They had already been given orders to bring him to the king if found and captured, but here the prince was of his own volition seeking an audience with the king.
"Fine, but first we must search you for weapons. Also, I will require you wear this bracelet to seal off your magics." The other guard spoke while the first searched him for any concealed weapons. He carried none. His only weapons, the Bizen, were hidden and locked away in an abandoned farm. The guard locked the bracelet on Robert's left wrist, effectively blocking his ability to use spells. The guards then led him to the dinning area.
Robert walked into the room after the guards opened the door for him. "Here is Prince Robert of Pualb. He has come here on his own. He has brought no weapons and we have sealed his access to magics." One of the knights spoke.
Kneeling down to the king of Narnith, Robert looked over at the king. "Your majesty. I have come from Pualb with dire news. I fear my brother has gone mad with power. He has sent knights to kill me and through them I have learned that my brother has poisoned my father. I do not know if father still lives or not, but I fear my brother may be setting the stage to invade Narnith and the other countries. I come so that you will be prepared against any assaults." Robert spoke, remaining on bent knee.

As they arrived at the Commander's, or Captain's, office, it was close to the palace, narrowing her eyes as she glanced around. "May I ask what this is about?" She questioned the man in front of her, hating this sensation of the five of them caging her between them all. "No. The Commander will explain." The man answered her question, coming to a stop in front of a door. Knocking on it, he listened for the response and stood aside, opening the door for her. "He'll see you now."Yeah I bet he will. Raven thought to herself, nodding to the knight before stepping inside. The room still appeared elegant if a bit bare, though she expected this of such quarters. She looked to her commander in front of her, his back currently to her, standing to attention in front of his desk. "Commander." "At ease." Hearing her relax, James turned to face her, taking a look at her. He could see she was still haunted, but he feared there was no more time he could alot her. "Forgive the reception at gates. I wanted to be sure you'd come."Hm. Something was on his mind. "It was no trouble sir. May I inquire as to why I am here?" She pressed a bit, clasping her hands behind her back as she relaxed. Yet she still looked so stiff. It made him smirk to see she still retained old habits. "Of course. I need you to return to active duty. Effective immediately. I realize you may not be ready-""I am ready and able sir. But.. why?" Raven asked, her face showing concern. There had to be a good damn reason she was supposed to return to duty. It either meant something big was coming, or else they simply needed more men.Commander James took a moment to look at her, a faint smile on his lips. The Nome family never disappointed, did they? "You recall I have a small gift of foresight. Albeit a bit vague. I fear there will be a darkness coming and I want us to be ready. That is why the best, such as yourself, should be ready to go to arms." He explained, the smile now lost to a more serious expression. Yes, his mother could see the future with great clarity and sharpness, he only gained part of that ability. At least he knew something was coming. This was bad news. "And I will be. You know where I can be found in this city." She answered, her arms relaxing to her side. "Indeed. Dismissed. Oh," James paused and smiled again, "Glad to have you back Lieutenant." He saluted, relaxing a moment later. She saluted as well, a small smirk on her lips. "Thank you Commander." With that, she turned and left, closing the door softly behind her. The smirk left her face as she began to walk home. A darkness was coming.... Her hands tightened to fists at her side, hoping that the beings from that god forsaken mission had not come to haunt them. Now she could no longer travel about unless ordered to. Honestly, she did not mind the change too much. Father will be pleased I'm returned to active duty. She felt that worry alleviate, now wondering what her brother would do. Probably go back to his tavern. That made her sigh heavily, hearing a few whispers as she strode through town. Though she was still just a lieutenant, the Nome family was well known.

Remington Soir Chevalier Geass Knight of Hount
It was a bright day, a nice day for a stroll or a patrol through the city, as was the case with Remy Geass on this morning. His katana was slung across his hip as usual, and the morning breeze ruffled the hair on his forehead and played slightly with the low ponytail that hung down to above his mid back.
Remy sighed as he walked through the market bustle as people scurried about, running errands, catching breakfast, and working. His green eyes wandered over the scenes occurring all over the streets. Nothing seemed too out of the ordinary, and everything seemed to be going fine. No one was beating any one up that he could see.
Remy waved to Mayu as he passed by the sake house. He himself did not really drink, but since Mayu was one of the few kitsune in the city, she was pretty noticeable. "Morning, mademoiselle!" he greeted.
It didn't hurt to greet the people of the city while on patrol just to check in and keep good relations. The knights protected the kingdom, but Remy always felt that knowing the people that he was protecting and living with would help him protect them.

Where ~ Student Magician (Armand Orion Parr ~ The Devil Mage) "Thank you, kind sir!" a red haired teen around fifteen years of age chirped cheerfully as he accepted some bread and cookies from a merchant in return for helping the merchant save his store. For some unknown reason, the merchant's store had caught on fire as Where had arrived in the area. A simple water spell from Where had helped to extinguish the fire quickly so that the damage was minimal. "Thank you, young boy," the merchant smiled in response. "Are you studying magic?"The grey eyed boy nodded. "Yes, I'm going to be the greatest magician ever!" It was an ironic statement on his part, but no one would ever realize that. He beamed and then looked up at the sun. "Oh, look at the time. I should get going. Thanks and see you around! Good luck with the business." Where waved and walked away, taking in the snowy and mountainous views of Paulb and listening to the chatter in the streets. Upon hearing of the change in kings, Where had not so randomly wandered into the kingdom of Paulb, interested in the current situation to see if it would amuse him. It hadn't taken too long for him to pick up the stories of mysterious deaths. However, when he tried to inquire at a tavern, people hushed up as if the subject was taboo. Paulb seemed to have acquired more of an atmosphere of fear than when he had visited before, not that it bothered him. However, since he didn't want to stick out like a sore thumb, he would have to get information another way. Perhaps, visiting the magic schools would help. He could probably board there as a visiting student from Gorc or whatever other kingdom he wanted to say. He knew enough about culture to pull it off. "Magic school," Where mumbled with a devious smile as he changed his direction.

Mayu shouted something back to the kitchen, some customers looking up in confusion at the foreign language, others clearly more regular customers as they didn't even look up. Aiya, why was it so busy so early?!
She served some sake and onigiri towards the front of the store, looking up as she heard a call come from outside. "Ah! Morning Sir Remington!" She waved back, straightening up as she stepped out from the shop, brushing the hanging cloth back. "Did you want anything to eat before continuing on?" She asked as she held the tray with both hands now, loosely at her front. She was chipper as always, only letting go with one hand to brush back a stray hair from her face. She often spotted him while she was wandering around the city selling their sake, always enjoying it when guards didn't remain so distant. She thought it was important to know the people you guarded, you know? They weren't just some group you had to protect, they could be friends.

Remy smiled when Mayu returned the greeting. Honestly, he preferred people call him by the shortened version of his name. However, he understood that it was a sign of respect, something that he followed as well since he refused to call others by nicknames and leave out titles unless they adamantly requested it.
"Alas, not today. I have training soon, but thank you for asking, Lady Mayu." He shook his head politely. If the timing was right, later in the day, he could probably have ordered some food for the other knights in his squad. "How are you doing today? Seems business is booming as usual."
After the patrol, the young knight was required to report to training. It was going to be a full blown skirmish of younger knights against more experienced knights. Remy knew he would probably get scolded for holding back again in the skirmish, and his father Sir Leon Geass would probably scold him as well at dinner time. While he had the expertise in weaponry, he lacked a killer's instinct and tended to try to solve problems peacefully, not seeking to harm others when he was forced to draw his katana.

The king examined the boy from head to toe while still eating his food. The hall was silent as knights watched him for his orders and reactions. Finally, he finished his meal and got up, pacing around the room obviously thinking of the situation. "I have spies in other countries who track the progress of the kings and royalty so that they don't do anything 'stupid'. From what my sources tell me, there has been little to no change in Paulb that they know of..." the king told the young prince and looked into his direction with a serious expression. The knights were about to take him away, as though they could read minds, but the king put up his hand. "...However, if a kingdom seems too quiet and unchanging, that is also a reason for suspicion. I have resent my spies to your land over a month ago and they were to come back within a fortnight and have not. They were my most loyal men as well, therefore, I have reason to believe that your stories are true. I do not want to leave my trust fully unto you, only for safety percautions. Sammual, get one of your finest knights to guard this boy for surely his life would be in danger if his brother was truely out for no good. Get someone with a kean eye as well, we don't need knight being killed in Narnith over idiotic royals" the king told a knight who was at the kitchen door way. The man bowed and did as he was told, goin out into the knights posts at the stables. At this time Elly was in a sparring match with the same guy who made the comment to her. They weren't sparring for the fact that he said something, but because they ended up talking about sparring and how Elly was only getting lucky. Unfortunately for the guy, Elly schooled him by sparring with him and when he tried to strick from overhead, she rushed and got him in the gut with the hilt of her sword, making him topple over. The other knights all laughed and told the big guy that it was useless. Some of the others giving up money for they gambled on them, a lot going for Elly and some for the other.
This was when Sammual came out and told one of the generals, in which they were doing battle plans and watching the match. There was much disgussion on the matter and all the while he was watching the match. "Jex, I have a mission for you... You are called upon to guard the young prince of Paulb whilst he stays in the castle. Apparently his brother is trying to blame him for the death of the king and is seeking to attack Narnith. The king believes the prince to an extent but needs someone to look after his actions. Someone with a keen eye and good fighting skills. I believe you are excellent for this task. I won't ask for your answer for this is an order, am I clear?" he asked and told Jex/Elly when he walked over to her. "Yes sir, it is understood," Jex/Elly told him, bowing in the usual knights solut to his general. The general told her to follow Sammual to the dinning room and she did, though a bit reluctant since her father was out there.
Once she got there, the party in the dinning room looked to her, not really expecting a man, though that was to be questioned by Prince Robert. Elly looked to the prince and bowed, not saying anything infront of her mother, father, and the other knights; some of whom knew who she was but didn't say anything in fear of fetting themselves cut from their ranks."Jex, take the young prince of Paulb to our guest rooms and get whatever it is he needs" the king ordered after asking Sammual what her name was. Jex bowed and walked to the prince, bowed, and led the way, holding the door open for the prince and walking alongside of him to his room, silent as a book.

Mayu simply nodded once in understanding, she had realized he may have been busy. "Well, I gotta make sure our knights have a full belly! I shall always hold the offer open as you know." She smiled, still never quite used to being called 'Lady Mayu.' She realized it was so normal now a days, but back on that farm near that tiny village it hadn't happened much. Come into the city, lots of things change.
Sighing lightly, she glanced inside, watching as a few customers left. "Thank you and come again!" She called as she bowed a bit to them, waving as she turned her gaze back to Remy. "I'm doing well, walked around the marketplace earlier per norm. Seems like we may get more customers judging by how the sake went. Then they needed me more here, so here I am!" She giggled a little, raising an arm as if to strike a pose. "What about you Sir Remington? Has your day been well so far?" She asked, relaxing once more with both hands on the tray she was holding.

Remy smiled softly back at Mayu’s comment. “That is very thoughtful of you.” He suppressed a small chuckle when Mayu struck a pose. It wasn’t polite to laugh too loudly or too much. “Hard work pays off, doesn’t it?”
“I’m doing fine as well. The kingdom has been very peaceful, and I hope the peace continues for the people’s sake,” Remy said softly. He batted away the image of his father yelling at him for taking some noncombat approach to a problem when the idea was to do combat.
At that moment, someone crashed into Remy at full speed, making him almost lose his balance. It was a younger boy. “Wha-?”
“Thief!” The younger boy was being chased by two knights not much older than Remy.
((I’m just making up stuff since nothing major seems to be happening in Hount yet?))

Mayu laughed lightly, nodding once, a bouncy sort of motion. "Indeed it does! I love seeing peoples satisfied faces after enjoying our wares."
Falling quiet as she listened to him, she glanced around and sighed lightly with a faint smile. "I do too. I-" She stopped as she saw the boy bump into him, glancing back to the two guards. "Looks like duty calls eh?" She was never sure if she should interfere with the affairs of the guards, though her instincts said she wanted to. Ah hell.... With a glint in her eye, she made to run after him, leaping forward with her hands parallel to the ground. With a movement as fluid and reminiscent of water, her form changed to that of a small white fox.
Tearing after the boy, she easily dodged between peoples ankles, catching up quickly to this little thief. Once she felt she was close enough, she jumped forward and bit his leg, claws digging in so she didn't lose her grip. With a yelp the boy went down, now jumping away before he could smack her down. Growling, her hackles went up and she changed back to her human form, jumping on top of him. Drawing a kunai, she held it to his throat, still poised much like an angry fox over him. "Ah ah! Don't move little mouse." She said sweetly, waiting for the guards to catch up.[EDIT] (( Yeah, you the first to join Hount besides me. Nothings happening here. Least, not yet. ))

Robert stood up an gave a light bow of his head in greeting to the rather lovely female guard they called Jex. "A pleasure to meet you Lady Jex. Please, lead the way." Robert spoke in a calm voice as he stood and followed the knight to the quarters he was to stay in. he knew he couldn't stay long, but he also knew that if he tried to leave it would make him look like the liar and give his brother the advantage.
Robert was not as surprised to the gender of the knight. In Paulb, several of the knights and paladins were females. What they lacked in brute strength, they made up for in speed and finesse.
The accommodations were much like those of a simple maid's room. Not that he minded as anything was better than a dungeon. There was nothing much he could do but wait for his brother to make a move.
It was all still a shock to him. His brother wanted him dead, and yet Robert had always known him as a kind and loving brother. He was the one that helped Robert to escape the castle when he was younger, before Robert met and trained with the rogue guild. Was it all a farce? Robert stood before the window and sighed lightly. "What the hell happened to you Eric?" Robert muttered quietly as he looked out into the distance.
*********************

Eric looked wickedly upon a young man who was drug into the throne room. The wraith had the man gripped by the head while the man's legs and arms were bound in razor wire, his mouth gagged by a rancid cloth.. "Sire, I have routed out the spy from Narnith, though there may be others." The wraith spoke.
"Excellent. Kill any others you come across. This one will prove most useful. How are the attacks coming?" the vampiric king asked, resting his head against his propped right arm and hand. The bound man struggled, causing the wire to cut into him more.
"One of the wraith necromancers is busy raising the dead in the Narnith town of Faris, while another is launching attacks with undead in the Pualb town of Garet, shouting what you told him to in order to drive the people to believe that Robert is the villain." The wraith spoke.
Eric rose and walked over to the man, gripping him by the neck. The king dragged the man outside to the balcony which overlooked a large crowd. Beneath the balcony were several wooden sharpened pikes, all pointing upward.
"My people. We have captured a Narnith spy, who after much torture confessed to smuggling in the poison my younger brother used on my father and tried to use upon me. This is the fate of all who oppose Pualb and seek to destroy the peace we have held for so very long under the rule of my beloved father!" Eric shouted before throwing the man into the bed of wooden spikes, impaling him before the crowds. "I know there are more spies out there. Capture anyone who dares to side with my traitor brother and anyone from Narnith, dead or alive! We now know that Narnith seeks to conquer us, but we shall not give them that chance! In one week, we shall march on Narnith and make them pay for their treachery!"
The crowds roared in approval before beginning to scatter. Eric flashed a wicked smile as he walked back into the castle. The stage was set, but his true goal was still fresh in his mind.

Mayu moved faster than Remy did, and while Remy was a swift runner, he could not outrun a healthy fox with four legs. The young knight had not seen Mayu in fox form before, and was slightly surprised when she transformed right in front of him. He rushed after her along the the two knights behind him until they reached Mayu and the "thief."
"What happened?" Remy asked.
The first of the knights was slightly huffing, but Remy made no comment on it. "The little brat stole something of mine."
From under Mayu, the boy adamantly shouted, "That brooch isn't yours. It's my mom's!"
Remy looked down at the boy and then at the first knight that had spoken. He never had a good impression of that knight and the quiet second knight that accompanied the first knight.

Mayu looked up as the three arrived, inwardly giggling at how the two that had been chasing this quick boy arrived panting. Oh what did that say about their guards? Hmm, maybe I should be more alert just to be safe. She thought to herself, listening to the exchange between the three of them.
Looking down to the boy, she did not move her hand with the weapon at his throat, instead searching him and finding the brooch. "Shhh, I just want to look." She told him softly, looking it over in her hand. It was beautiful. Two pearls in woven metal with a simple ribbon. Simple, yet elegant. "This does look like a woman's possession." She said softly, giving it back to the boy. "Miss, you are a civilian. Please allow us to handle it." The quieter of the two spoke, glancing between her and Remy. Now that made Mayu raise an eyebrow, puffing up her cheeks in anger. "Now just a minute you, if I hadn't caught him, whose to say he would have gotten stopped at all?" She snapped, almost sounding like a fox when it yipped and barked. Almost seemed to startle the man since it was unexpected.
"Now, would anyone care to tell me the circumstances of this whole event?" She asked sweetly, a smile returning to her features. Just because she brewed sake, did not mean she couldn't be scary at times.

"I promise she'll be home soon. She just had to go speak to the Commander, Captain, whatever the name is. That guy whose above her!" Alden said exasperatedly to his mother who was a bit worried. They were all in a dining hall since they were eating an early lunch. Apparently there was something going on later that he and his sister hadn't known about. "WHATEVER THE NAME IS?! Ranks are not simply whatever you feel like calling them Alden! They hold purpose, they can give honor, they are a-" James Nome raged at his sons ignorance, almost pounding a hand into the table though he felt a sphere of water encase his hand and hold it in place. James Nome was an older man with some slight gray hair amongst the black of the rest, his eyes a blue gray. He was still in fantastic shape considering. "Calm yourself darling. He doesn't mean it. Think of your blood pressure." Marianne Nome spoke gently, her sapphire blue eyes resting upon her husband. They were a handsome couple next to each other, her beauty as a water elemental clear. Her children resembled the mix of the two of them. She was slender with flowing black hair, currently tied back elegantly. Her skin was pale, her cheekbones prominent, but not in a bad way. Almost gave her a slavic sort of appearance. "You know your father doesn't mean it. I'm sure Raven will-""Arrive here soon? Forgive me for taking so long, the Captain wished to speak with me." Raven spoke, walking into the dining room without any warning from the servants. They knew she didn't really like to be announced at least at home. "Sounds lively here. Hope I didn't miss much." She sat down next to her father at his left since her mother took the right, her brother next to their mother.Marianne relaxed at the sight of her daughter, knowing she didn't have too much reason to worry, but she couldn't help it. "Welcome home my dear. No, you haven't missed anything." She spoke softly, the ball of water leaving her husbands hand as he seemed to relax. The Captain? Oh-ho! "What did the Captain want with you?" He asked, now beginning to eat since she had returned. Raven paused after taking a sip of the red wine that was there, glancing around at her family. "I have been returned to active duty. I am not stationed anywhere yet, but I'm sure they won't keep me here for long." Well, at least she didn't dread having to go home now. It had been so long since they had spoken like this. Alden paused, not really listening to his parents reactions to the news. Well... that did mean they didn't have to travel around anymore. So that would be nice... he guessed. But was she really ok with this? He didn't ask her now, only took a bite of his bread to chew. "Congrats sis." He nodded to her once he swallowed, leaning back as they all spoke together for a while.

Where had successfully secured temporary boarding with the magic school section in Paulb’s Garet as a student magician from Narnith without knowing what King Eric would be announcing in the capital later. Unfortunately, the staff wanted to evaluate him on where he stood, making him take a few tests and a scan to measure his magic capability and knowledge. Where made sure to make enough mistakes and not recognize certain things on the tests to make him seem normal and also secretly manipulated the scan to downplay his true magical abilities drastically. He had already masked and suppressed his abilities, but took the precaution with the scanner just in case.
“So, you are trying to specialize in water and dabble in healing on the light side,” one of the teachers stated. As a guideline, most mages specialized in one type of magic first because it was better to be stronger in one type of magic than being a weak all rounder in all types of magic. It was also sometimes difficult for people to learn more than one type, depending on affinity, skill, and so on.
Where nodded with an earnest grin. “With so much snow, Paulb sounded like a good place to go for water training.” The mage was bored. In truth, besides his curiosity of the new reign in Paulb, he thought he had felt a twinge of a failed summon in the kingdom while he was still in Gorc. He hadn’t been paying attention and it had been a failed summon, so he couldn’t trace the source. Whatever the case, there would have had to been some large amount of blood spilt for it to correctly call him, if he bothered to answer, and it wasn’t as if the summon was widely known. The dangerous summon only existed because his teacher had created it specifically to target him and him only, and there hadn’t been any real attempts for decades.
Suddenly, there was a piercing scream followed by a torrent of ruckus from outside, interrupting the conversation between Where and the magic teacher. Another staff member rushed into the room, “There are undead attacking the town! We need to defend the town!”
The teacher across from Where immediately stood up with a look of disbelief. “How is that possible?”
Where raised an eyebrow. “What?” He blinked as if not understanding the statement. He didn’t regret coming to Paulb after all. Things were getting interesting. “Undead?”
“Quickly, I’ve already taken the liberty of informing the head of the branch, and he is organizing the staff and students to help,” the newcomer spouted quickly, completely ignoring Where and not really answering the teacher’s question.
“I’ll be right there,” the teacher replied with a stern nod, and the newcomer left. He turned to Where. “The undead are not something to be taken lightly. Stay away from them. However, your light magic may come in handy. Please report to…” I can’t say the rendezvous point since he doesn’t know where it is. “Forget it. Follow me, and be careful. Don't do anything rash.”
The scene outside was of utter chaos. People were running about, fleeing from all sorts of strange and sometimes gruesome looking creatures. In the midst of it all seemed to be some wraith cackling about Prince Robert and Narnith. That looks fun, Where thought, referring to the undead’s side. For now, he’d obediently follow the teacher.
”…this is His Highness Robert’s doing? … how could he? Narnith, damn you and the prince for this.” the teacher rasped as he prepared some type of spell.
Whatever that spell was, Where had the feeling it wasn’t going to work. How ironic that Where had said he was from Narnith.
