"What the hell...?" the teen male whispered breathlessly. He knew - KNEW - he heard something following him through the gnarled trees of the Dragnid forest. Cautiously the dark giraffe Pae took another couple of steps, passing a rather ominous looking rock that reminded him of a snarling animal; a snap of dried branches breaking on the earthen floor confirmed it, there was someone or something behind him. Zephyros paused, the hairs on the back of his neck bristled and his skin began tingling in anticipation of an attack.
Another snap and a soft giggle drifted to his ears. "OK I've had enough of this nonsense. SHOW YOURSELF!" The male whirled around and saw... nothing. "This is SO NOT FUNNY! If that's you Maya, I'm going to pull your braid right off of your head." He crossed his arms and frowned.
A little sideways purple head with two little deep purple eyes floated out from behind a particularly rotted looking elm. With a giggle, the head disappeared once again.
Not amused, Zephyros approached the tree. "Come out and stop being all stalkerish, already.
The little angel peeped out at him again and giggled. "Hiya!" She smiled sweetly and offered him a lollipop.
"Err... no thanks."
The little angel peered up at the larger pae. "Why do you have a halo and a demon tail?"
"Why are you following me?"
"BECAUSE I WUV YOU!!!" She pounced and clung to his leg happily.
"Ok, you're just about WAY too creepy." Pushing the little girl away, Zephyros did what he thought most logical, he ran away. It was more of a brisk walk than a run, but that child was way too happy. Dodging trees, the teen darted deeper into the forest.
The little purple angel continued to toddle along behind him. No way would she let him ditch her in the scary woods. He was her new friend.

Very much against her will, Bellatrix is already in Dragnid. She had fought her way through those mischievous tree branches, and the meaner of the animals on the island, to get to some of the snakes nearer the heart of the forest.
She doesn't mind going into Dragnid. As long as it is just her and Casey. But, somehow, Voldemort got her to drag him with her. So, he is resting in the sling over her front, hissing to her, and pretty much giving her a headache.
And, standing next to her, looking more in awe of everything around him than terrified, is Bedtime. His usual sleepy self is more awake, now, as he has more to stimulate his mind out here.
Bellatrix frowns, disgusted. Not only is she feeling under the weather still, but she has to take care of two brats. She glares at Casey, the spirit, and gives Voldemort a little bounce.
She turns when she hears some twigs snapping behind her. Raising her eyebrows, she pulls out her elbow blades. Just in case. You never know what you will find. . . .

Turning his head back, the demon shouts to the angel. "GO AWAY ALREADY!" Whipping his head back forward he spots a group. "Whoa." Slowing to a stop he eyes the posse. "I know you. You're... uh... the snake lady who helped me that time with the things and the stuff and..." He rambled a little more before stopping.
The angel Pae, running to catch up, rammed right into the back of Zeph's leg on accident. "Whoopsie!" She looked at the group, spotting one of her own. "BEDTIME!!!" Running she pounced at the other CarePae.

Bedtime's sleepy eyes widen as he sees a streak of purple. Too bad for the poor little Care Pae that his reflexes are slow, for, just as the purple streak rams into him, Bedtime flies back, almost falling.
Luckily for him, Bellatrix's reflexes are not quite as sleepy or slow, and he hand shoots out as she grabs Bedtime before he can sent the two children flying back into a pile onto the snakes. She hisses to her family, and they disperse, leaving the little group of Pae very much alone now.
She looks down at the new Care Pae, and then up and Zephy. "Hmmm," she says. Shaking her head a little, she replies, "Yes, I remember you too," she cringes a little at someone actually not remembering her name, but she remembers that she somewhat liked the Pae male, so she lets it slide. "It's Bellatrix," she reminds him. "Ah, I think you friend knows Bedtime, and the troll in the sling is named Voldemort."
Voldemort hisses angrily at Bellatrix, and kicks out at her when she only smiles. "Not troll," he says, in his odd, high-pitched, breathy voice.
Bedtime gives Share a sleepy smile. "She's Share, Tr-Bella," he says. "Hello, Share. How are you?"

Yes, that was her name; the teen remembered now. Pushing a few strands of hair from his red eyes, the demon Pae eyed the toddler curiously. "Is that yours?" He had never seen a Pae like that, but found it fitting that it was shackled to Bella. "My name is Zephyros, in case you're as silly and forgetful as I am."
Share clung to her friend and spoke in a blaze of squeaky words. "I'm good! How are you? Do you want a lolli? I'll give you one! Have you been with these Pae the whole time? I just found my new friend and he keeps running away." She gets closer and whispers. "He must not like lollis."

Bellatrix looks, disdainfully, down at Voldemort, and shakes her head. "No, he is my caretakers. But, he frightens her, so he lives with me," she explains.
The corner of her lip twiches at the next thing he says. She is too perfect to forget things, and far too good to be silly! But, she reminds herself yet again that, for reasons unknown to her, she actually liked Zephyros, and it would not do to anger a potential ally. "I remembered, Zephyros," she says, smiling in her usual, evil way. "We'll just have to work on your memory, so that, when next you see me, I won't have to tell you my name again."
Voldemort regards Zephyros with his cold, crimson, serpentine eyes, and frowns. What an ugly thing! He doesn't understand why Bella is being nice to this creature. It is tainted! Look at him. He might have have a tail like Bella and he, but he has one of those blasted halos. He must have tainted blood in his veins.
With a disgusted sniff, Voldemort turns his gaze away from Zephy, and finds something more interesting to look at.
Bedtime's eyes seem to cross. He wishes Share would have learned to talk slower! His sleepy mind cannot catch up with her!
As a result, it takes him a while to process what she has just said to him, and he gives her one of his tired smiles. "I am good, and I would like a lolli very much. . . ." he says. After another pause, he adds, "Yes, I have been with Bella practically my whole life. And, perhaps your new friend just doens't like lollies. . . . You'll just have to find something that he does like," he offers.

"I promise I'll say it ten times a day until I remember." The teen chuckled and waved his hand. Motioning toward Volde, he continued. "I'd say he was cute, but... I've seen cuter. And I think he just gave me the evil eye anyway." Taking a step closer, Zeph perched on a large rock. "You know, Bella... or do you prefer Bellatrix? Anyway you look... different, if you don't mind my saying. I'm not sure how, but I can see it."
Share touched her belly and out popped two lollies. "Here you go!" She shoved one of them into Bedtime's mouth. "But what would my new friend like?"

Bellatrix actually laughs, softly, before her hand goes to her stomach. Frowning, she waves her hand, and smiles in her usual way again. "That might be a solution to your predicament, Zephyros," she says, watching him as he sits down.
She then glances down at Voldemort. "I believe he is an . . . acquired taste. I happen to love his eyes. So much hate, and potential, I see in them. . . ." her smiles widens a little when Voldemort steals a quick glance at her.
She then looks back at Zeph, and quirks a brow. "Well, I have grown since you have last seen me. I am sure that is what has changed about me," she supplies, before gracefully sitting in the spot she was standing only a moment before. She closes her eyes a moment, finding that her stomach lurched in protest to her sudden movement. She doesn't comment on it, though. She knows it will die down in a moment.
Bedtime's eyes widen, and he gags aroung the lolli for a moment, before pulling it from his mouth. He takes a deep, almost shaky breath, and says, "Thanks, Share," before giving her another smile. Bedtime can never be angry with anyone, he doesn't have it in him. "I really don't know what your friend would like, though. The best way to find out would be to ask him, wouldn't it?" he offers.

Share looked to Zeph and back to Bedtime before plopping down on the forest floor. "What if he tries to run away again?" Her little wings flutter for a moment before growing still once more.
"Too many freaky children running around lately." Muttering the mixed demon shot a glance from the two CarePae to Voldemort. "I think you look a little pale or something, no idea." The male crossed one leg over the other in a noticeably feminine way, though it seemed perfectly natural to him and he gave it no thought at all. "You been feeling ok, hun?"

Bedtime shrugs, and pops the lolly back into his mouth. He thinks for a moment, and this is slow work for him. "I guess you can hug him really tight, so that way, when he runs, he will be taking you with him?" he offers. Everyone loved hugs, after all!
Bellatrix pauses a moment to let down a now-restless Voldemort. He begins to crawl off, and she hisses to him in a stern manner. Her eyes widen a little when he moves his tail in what seems to be a rather offensive gesture. She chuckles, and shakes her head. "Some of them are more interesting than you would think, Zephyros. You could actually get the chance to mold them in a way that you see fit. Just look at it that way?"
Her yellow eyes fall on Zeph once more, and she tilts her head to the side. She pulls the sling over her head, and tosses it to the ground next to her, before tapping her chin. After a moment of studying him, noting the feminine way in which he moves, she shrugs. "I have been a little ill, but I spent a week in this forest recently. I am sure that I just caught something, that's all," she says, smiling slightly. "But, enough of that, right? How have you been? I am assuming you have a better sense of direction now, or you wouldn't be wandering around in this . . . dangerous part of the island."

"Oh yeah, I've got a much better sense of direction now. You just happened to catch me on my first outting, as it were. I've taken to exploring through this part of the island out of utter boredom, actually. I wanted to see why this place was so big and bad." He watched the toddler crawl off; good riddance. "I've been ok, avoiding home a lot lately. I don't think my father approves of me, so I try to steer clear when possible." He lapsed into a pleasant silence, having run out of things to say.
Share nodded. "Hugs are nice. He pushed me away last time, but maybe I just surprised him."

"I have protection in here," Bellatrix say, folding her hands in her lap after she fiddles with the skirt of her dress a moment. "Most animals spook when they sense a spirit, so I take Casey with me. He is off looking around. But, the snakes help, as well. There are quite a few of the really big ones around here. They know you, now, and know that you and I are on pleasant terms. Your future outtings in here might be a little more pleasant. It'll just be the trees you have to watch out for."
Her eyebrows raise a little as she frowns. "Hmm, and what gives you the impression that your father would not approve of you?" she asks, looking over at Voldemort to make sure that he doesn't wander off too far. She spies him playing with a long, black snake, and figures he could be doing worse, so she dismisses it.
Bedtime pops the lolly out of his mouth again, and grins. "Those are the best hugs, though! But, you're right. Maybe he just isn't used to them. Next time, give him a little warning, and then maybe he won't push you away? Then, you can find things to share with him," he nods, as though that is the best solution to poor Share's problem.

"Trees and little purple happy children." He grinned, glancing toward the CarePae for a moment. "Well, dear, I don't think I'm a typical Pae. There's the whole mixed breed thing and my distaste for machismo and 'manly' activities. I mean really, why would I want to soil my hands in the name of fun. So NOT fun. Anyway, there are just those who will not accept my eccentricities." Shaking his head, the teen inhaled sharply, tasting the damp earthiness that hung in the air. "But you do what you can. How's your life been treating you?"
Share nodded earnestly. "Sharing stuff is fun!" She appreciated BedTime; he was smart though others may pick at him for being so slow. She knew that whatever he was thinking would be well planned instead of rushed.

Bellatrix chuckles. "I don't see many purple, happy children, dear, and I am always in here. So, if you can, tie her to someone in your family when you leave. Perhaps that . . . weak-looking purple fae girl I saw you with the last time?" she suggests, tilting her head to the side.
She then frowns deeply, and does something out of character. She reaches her hand out to rest on Zephy's cheek a moment, before she blinks, and mentally admonishes herself for allowing herself to appear caring, even for a moment. "Don't listen to them, darling. They're just jealous because they can never be as great as you. That is just my opinion, however. I have had my share of people who do not accept me, and that is the only excuse for their abhorrent behavior that I can come up with."
Bedtim laughs softly, and nods his head. "Yesh, sharing is fun," he glances over at Bella and Share's friend. He leans toward Share, and whispers conspiritorily, "Perhaps you time to hug and find out what he like will be soon? It seems he might be too preoccupied with Bella, so you can sneak in the hug. But, it might be rude to interrupt them. I am not sure," he frowns a moment, puzzling over that.

"You have a point. One of those girls would love the little thing, I'm sure." He blushed at the touch, not a blush of romantic inclination, but of his sensitivity to the topic at hand. "Thank you," he replied softly, not knowing what else to say.
"Do you think I should? It might make him run away again." Share was wanting to be as careful as possible not to let her friend get away again.

"Of course, they are silly. They would love the cuteness of . . . her," Bellatrix says, grinning wickedly, despite herself, at the blush.
Then, her face changes a moment. She actually does get a little paler, and her hand raises to her mouth. Cursing the bug, she hisses to Casey. She waits there as long as she can, making sure Casey gets there to watch Bedtime and Voldemort, before she rushes off into the trees. She runs far enough away to be descreet about her wretching.
She pulls out her flask of water strapped to her belt, and rinses her mouth out, before she smoothes down her loose hair. She takes a deep breath and returns to the spot where the rest of the Pae are. "I am sorry for rushing off," she says, not making excuses. "Anyway, you are quite welcome. Just remember those words whenever someone says something about you. . . ."
"I can help you keep him here?" Bedtime offers, smiling. "Who knows? Maybe between the two of us, we can come up with something that he likes? Everyone has something that they want more of."
