Kina nodded agreeably as Hakan said you took what you could- and she didn't even try to stifle a laugh about the friend he traveled with, spotting the bright orange lion just as Hakan spoke. She looked over, eying the rabbit he carried, looking rather impressed. It wasn't that easy to catch a hate, especially on your own.
"I'm Kinagiri," she said, introducing herself rather than waiting for the other to do it. She considered sitting up but she was rather comfortable and she didn't think either really cared if she wasn't going out of her way to be polite.

Hakan rolled his eyes. There he was...and he'd caught something, too...though he seemed to be throwing it around as if he managed to do that every day.
He nodded towards Kinagiri as she introduced herself. "And here he is, the infamous Rap." He snorted, amused. "Who apparently got lucky enough to catch something today." He gestured towards the discarded prey and then shifted so he was lying down.
He caught Rap's look and continued. "I was just explaining to her about where we were travelling to."
Rap flopped down rather gracelessly and hooked the rabbit with a claw, dragging it towards him. He nosed at its fur a moment and then blinked, looking up.
"You told her about the Firekin?" He tilted his head and glanced towards her, before shrugging. "Ah well, not exactly a secret, is it."
Hakan gave him a: 'you're such an idiot' look and shook his head in dismay.
"Well, no. I didn't say the exact pride, but since you did, I guess she knows now." He threw Kinagiri a somewhat apologising look, knowing that Rap could be...well...he took a lot of getting used to.
"I'm sorry...I've just realised that we've come and invaded in on your space and ruined any chance of you getting some peace and quiet. We can go whenever you wish."

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Rap," she offered, watching how he handled hearing that she had been told about the plan. She perked up curiously when he mentioned the pride by name, certain she had heard it before. And it definitely wasn't a .. cheerful association she had with the name.
"Hm," she murmured, her tail thoughtfully tapped the ground a couple times and curled around her feet, "Oh, don't worry about that, you're very interesting company." She smiled, then got up to her feet.
"One hare's not much good to two big lions like yourselves, though, perhaps I could help," she offered. The idea that this would drive Jino absolutely insane, not only hunting but hunting for someone else.. well, that made it all the more appealing. Hah!

Hakan blinked, surprised at her kindness. She was offering to hunt? For them? Strangers? Well...not strangers now. They were aquaintences atleast. Even still...it didn't seem right to sit back and let her do that for them.
"Kinagiri, you don't need to do that. Honestly. We can go days without food and still be fine."
Rap interjected smoothly. "But, if you really wanted to, we wouldn't say no, would we, Hakan?" He gave his teacher an exaggerated look.
"After all, it'd be stupid to turn down kindness when its thrown our way, wouldn't it, eh?"
He stood, shook his mane vigorously and looked across at the female, grinning. "We'd really appreciate it."

She smiled at them. Her kindness was not really so altruistic, she enjoyed how irritated Jino would be and how surprised and happy they were.
"You might be fine for a couple days but you should definitely fill up before you head into a desert," she said looking at Hakan, then looked to Rap with a grin, "If you're not too tired out, we can go hunting now." Hunting was one of the situations where two was almost always better than one. She did not actually expect him to say he was too tired, though. Neither seemed the type to complain.

Hakan rolled his eyes, a habit he seemed to indulge in when the younger lion was around. And, assuming that Rap would be happy to help, settled himself more comfortably, setting his chin astride his forepaws and letting his eyes fall closed.
He'd rest here and wait for them to return. Hell, might as well make the most of being 'injured' and let Rap take on a bit of responsibility.
"More than happy to help, Kina." Rap said, shortening her name, already. He was awfully glad that his own name was so short that there was no need to shorten it.
"You know these parts better than we do?" He queried, moving towards her and glancing out across the unknown lands. "If so, take the lead and I'll follow...and, if not, well, you can still take the lead and I'll still follow." He grinned.
"You'll be all right here, won't you Hakan?" He was teasing and was rewarded with a gruff growl. "I'll take that as a yes, then, shall I?" Then he turned his head to look across at the female and nodded. "Ready when you are."

"Alright then," she responded brightly, glancing back to Hakan as he settled in to rest before looking at Rap, ready to make a decision. She did know the area they were in, and she also had her visions on her side-- though Jino was better for trying to find things. Still, it might prove useful.
"OK, I'll lead the way for now and we're see what we come across," she said.

"Sounds good to me." He moved to follow, his pace swift but relaxed, his head lowered a little and his tail waving out behind him.
"So, you must be something, to get Hakan opening up to you." He replied. "He doesn't trust others, as a rule, not that I've learned, anyway. I mean he talks to lions, sure, but...well, he's never discussed what we're doing, besides the fact we're wanderers and if I say anything I get the biggest, mean glare you could imagine." He gave a dramatic sigh.
"When I was chasing rabbits earlier, I didn't see any other prey, but there was scent of them on the wind, just where they were...I don't know. And problem is, they might have smelt us and spooked." He wrinkled his snout. "I shoulda been more careful."

"Is that so?" she asked, looking over as they began to walk on their way to find something good to eat, but she had nothing really to say to it. It made her smile, she ought to be good at gaining trust but she hadn't been trying for any particular reason this time. She looked back out around them when he explained what happened when he was hunting earlier.
"That could be a problem," she agreed, but she didn't sound too put-off by it. She contemplated the best way to do this, having a hunting partner probably would make it easier. She glanced back at Rap thoughtfully and then back out, her pace slowing. If she could see just into his future, she might see some indication of where to go- or, if nothing else, the kind of prey they might find. She came a complete stop as she tried to search, though she didn't want to be too obvious. She caught glimpses of the desert but forcefully tried to push herself back, that was too far ahead-- or the other direction entirely if Rap was from there. After several seconds of hesitation, she snapped out of it and lifted her head up high, sniffing the air. She couldn't be positive but she was confident they would find a suitable meal, it would just take a bit of doing.

He nodded, agreeing with a low grumble in his throat. He didn't really mind going far and wide for food so long as they were going to be successful. To walk and walk only to find nothing or the hind-quarters of spooked prey would be...well it wouldn't be good.
He blinked, looking up as Kinagiri scented the air and, not bothering to really check himself, asked; "Hey, you got something?"
Then, realising he shouldn't be so lazy, lifted his own muzzle higher.

"Maybe," she murmured, then lowered her head, "It'll be easiest if we head against the breeze." If she smelled anything, the wind was probably responsible. So that was a good direction to head. Easy. Just they wouldn't know which other way to go until they got a good lead.

"All right, lets do this!" Rap exclaimed enthusiastically, moving quicker now, his head kept lifted so that he could trace that mouth-watering scent, now trying to be useful. A exchange of heart now that they had a rough direction to go in.
The shrub land around them offered good cover for their approach, but it would also do well to mask the prey they were seeking. If they weren't careful they might blunder straight into them and scare them into flight prematurely.
"I think we're getting clo--" His whispered voice fell silent as he spotted them. Food. Three small antelope picking their way in and out of the thick, yellow-green shrubs in search of fresh shoots of grass.
"Well, hello there." Rap smiled.

Kina walked with a little less caution than the bright orange beast that she hunted with, her colors were more dull and blended into the background better. Still, she was careful. As they walked, she paid attention to the scent, keeping an eye out for any sign of prey. She spotted them just as Rap spoke up, then glanced over to him, smiling back.
"OK, you wait here," she said in a hushed voice, "I'll go around and chase them this way." She didn't wait for any sign that he agreed, she moved off to the side and started her way around. She picked up the pace a bit as she found her spot, it wouldn't matter if they were spooked from this side, they would run into Rap.
Once in position, she peeked up and picked one to focus on if they dispersed. Then she sprang into action, heading right for the antelope, ready to round her target back towards Rap- and hoping he was paying attention and would join in if they just missed heading right into him.

Luckily the plan worked perfectly. The poor creatures didn't know what was coming and they screamed in fear, scrambling over the uneven ground in an attempt to make their escape. Rap had only to lie in wait and leap up to grab one by the throat as it tried to clear the air above his head.
He twisted, snapped its neck in one and threw it to one side, letting it hit the ground in a cloud of dust.
Lifting his head, he gave a short, low roar of success and turned to glance towards Kinagiri, exhaling noisily. "We make a good team."

Kina had to skid to a halt when she saw Rap rush out, ready to spring up if he needed the help but he definitely had the advantage over the small creature. She winced as she heard a loud snap and beamed as Rap roared, looking down to what they caught.
"Definitely," she agreed, looking back to Rap, "Now, let's get this back to the stream."
Fin.
